I went from a 1050ti to a 6gb 2060 then I considered buying a 3000 series when they came out, then the 4000, but now I think I'll just wait the 5000 series lol I say to my self all the time that I'll buy the next gen but never actually do when I realize my 2060 is doing just fine.. These new 4000 series just seem meh to me.. The only thing that peaked my interest was the power consumption but other than that, meh.

Would the fact that the 7900 XTX competes favorably with the 4080, plus the "extra 8gb of vram" coupled with a probable price drop make it a better value over the 4080 Super even though there's a performance increase and significant price drop? Can't wait for a 7900 XTX vs 4080 Super benchmark!

who cares for this vram :D most of games take max 11-13 gb vram on 4K so we are fine with 16gb for the next 5+ years for sure.basicly most of gamers swap cards after 2-3 gen!

definitely if you don't use ray tracing and are sub 4k

nvidia upscaling looks so much better than amd that you can get more out of an nvidia card via dlss than you can from amd using FSR

So I would say the majority of my time spent on the computer are productivity/desgin applications like after effects, blender, unity, unreal, photoshop, etc. with that said I do plan on getting a 4080 super when I upgrade. I’ve been on my 5700xt since 2020 and when it comes to rendering time specifically with blender it takes forever to render animations in cycles. Compared to the numbers I’ve seen in Nvidia cards, Nvidia crushes on that end. If I wasn’t doing anything other than gaming I’d probably skip out on Nvidia entirely and favored team red a little longer. Unfortunately for me as a designer my time matters and team green can save me a lot of time on rendering. Any other creatives out there similar to me please I’d like to talk abt this more!

Seems a lot of us were ready to get the 7900xtx just before 4080s announcement. I would really like to see comparison vids and get advice on which to get. Such a tough decision now! Also, a comparison of the two cards with an AMD 7800x3d CPU, since pairing the xtx with the x3d gives a boost.

I hate to say this about NVidia. But many of us gamers are just plain sick and tired of their pricing and marketing games and this name structure is just insane too. To make matter worse for them the power connector is still an issue and NVidia never once apologized for their screwup on their part. They just sold a bad product and left the consumer hanging and blame them for their own mistake. NVidia is done in my book and they can go just suck wind at this point for all I care.
Now AMD on the other hand is looking better and better with each new product coming out and they are beating NVidia hand over fist in pricing and product quality.
Intel's GPU even looks better then NVidia.
NVidia need to focus more on cleaning up their act and if I was a stockholder with them. I would demand their CEO to be fired.

    • @worldwide714

I never thought of that… What the hell are retailers going to do. they can’t sell them for $200+ dollars less and lose their profit margin. RTX 4000 series = Good performance, great features, TERRIBLE VALUE
RTX 4000 Super line up = Very good performance, great features, BAD VALUE
The issue has been the pricing. The performance R&D focus needs to go in favour of creating these chips/cards at decent pricing.

Look, there's a reason AMD barely has broken the Steam charts for GPU sales yet has 50x the fanboys on YT. You already know what they are going to tell you "get the XTX". If people haven't picked up on the pattern of every video that there are AMD salesman deployed broadly throughout all of YT, perhaps you should start paying attention and realizing this is going to have to be a personal decision you make based on your own research and choice with how to spend your own money. Do not expect any real advice on YT, the bias is real and it is heavily weighted toward AMD. You already know all of this and made the comment anyway.
