- Recently there is a group of female socialites in China who have an extremely luxurious life. Or at least they appear to. They wear different designer clothes every day, live in a variety of five-star hotels and enjoy luxurious afternoon tea. A blogger exposed their secrets after covertly joining this mysterious group.
China has the largest Internet celebrity population in the world. Many people want to be Internet celebrities as it is the only job that can get rich quickly and change the life of the grassroots in a short period of time. Is this a chance or a catastrophe for China?

Being trained so that they can marry a celebrity? This alone sounds like an episode of Black Mirror. Wtf...
China literally is an episode of Black Mirror, with its own social credit system, mass surveillance state, and concentration camp to boot.

@@chainofenkidu9451 Lmao, which country doesnt have a social credit system, and mass surveillance? There's something called credits in America where if you dont pay back your monthly payments of credit card bills they mark you as a bad credit citizen and you wont have the economical privileges that others have? Btw that social credit system only applied in a small community in one small city of China, Im sure you watched that youtube video talking about that socia system and now you think you know everything about China. The mass surveillance decreased crime rate to almost non existence in China, mean while in the big and advanced home of America, you still have hood gangs robbing you in day light, I live a NYC and I see a camera on top of every stop light of the intersection, however the difference between these Cameras and the ones in China is that these dont do anything and doesn't stop crime.

At the end you say “rather than working hard”... this is a fallacy in a capitalist society. Especially with a population as high as China. They can work to death and still not make it. The system isn’t built for the majority to thrive, so it makes sense why they would go to extreme levels to be validated. Great insight in this video though.
Also he’s describing how many have to go to special training and do many things to succeed. Like they ARE working hard to make it, just in a different way
it's not necessarily a fallacy. working hard is only part of the equation. to succeed, you need to work hard AND provide value (through your skills, intelligence, charisma, etc.)
Real success comes from luck, timing and social connections/networking. Just hard work gets you nowhere and burns you out.
@@Adonna2424 Yep, there's people that can get high paying jobs because someone already inside recommended them. Even with job applications recently, I've been seeing a lot of them ask if someone they knew referred them or if they have family within the company.

If men are allowed to capitalise off of shallow standards in women then women should be equally able to capitalise off of it as well. These rich men need to hold themselves accountable for being that shallow and only seeking young women for these shallow traits. But for anyone it’s just terrible to be lied into a relationship.
I mean the 2 women mentioned in the video capitalized by pretending to be from a rich family just so they can marry celebrities..
Nah. How bout stop being shitty regardless of gender. How bout dat? U want to combat negativity with more negativity and where does that put us? More fucking suffering.
@@mintycokies8057 It's not trying to 'combat' anything. It's just double standards that mean women get more harshly judged than men do

"Work hard" is a mentality that is no longer valid in this era. Maybe it would have been in the 80's or 90's where you'd get more money if you worked more hours, or you were rewarded with bonuses for doing more work. Nowadays it's "work smart" that gets the money. Also, I kind of dislike the fact that the speaker claims that you don't need to have a skill to become famous and I think that's not true because you still need to have an idea/concept and convey it in a way that makes it appealing/relatable to many people, maybe it's not an obvious skill such as a physical one (singing, playing an instrument, drawing...) but it's still a skill. Plus, you need to be consistent and put in quite a lot of effort to keep the audience with you for more than a couple of videos and once you're more famous, it's even more demanding. But I guess to the older generations, influencers will always be considered "the ones who got easy money for doing a couple of videos".
"And quickly went viral" shows numbers slowly, slowly increasing from 250 to 263

"... when young people aspire to get rich quickly how far can the country go."
Me: LMFAO! Ppl don't CARE about the state of the country so long as they can live comfortably with money in their pockets. Nobody has time to worry about every little detail that goes on in a country when we only have a short life to live on this miserable planet. 😒
Humans are generally short-sighted, true. Most don't care what happens after they die, as long as they get to live their life nicely. This is what has led to rampant pollution, consumerism (with labourers getting less and less wages), global warming etc. All that is not our problem, we just want to live our life to the fullest. I think this will be our downfall as a species. How laughable, for the (allegedly) most 'intelligent' species, that has built complex societies and amazing civilisations, to fall to something so foolish in the end.
What really bothers me is, I can understand if you can't teach 14 children manners or your values, but how hard can it be to teach one child good, useful, universal life values

It's actually quite brilliant. In China people still go to blind dates arranged by their parents and relatives. If someone with the right resources can actually arrange for such a meeting with rich and influential men, then ambitious girls should really take advantage of it. They even receive guidance every step of the way throughout the relationship until marriage happens. This is a very good deal.

"when young people aspire to get rich quicky how far can the country go?" The real question is WHY do young people want to get money 'quickly'? Is it because the country made it impossible to live a normal life without big amounts of money, and because there is no actually way to get rich by 'working hard'? The goverment should really think about it instead of blaming citizens for not having what they have
I partly agree with you but I am also inclined to believe that there would always be people willing to lie and scam others to get quick money in any era any rule.
When they target us plebs, we call them thieves and scammers and feel rather indignant. But instead of spending years studying and taking 4 lectures per day to earn X amount of money in a month, many would rather spend their teens in fun and then scam others of X money in a day. Society would collapse if such people are applauded.
Getting money the “traditional” way consisted of the 996 system, as in, work from 9am to 9pm, six days a week. There’s not really a sweet spot between the two, and the alternative of leaving the country as skilled workers (like my family- college educated and experienced) needs education, which in turn needs money, which, as mentioned in the video, isn’t an option for a large part of the population.
I wish I could like this a thousand times

Hell, economies like that are the reason people leave their countries for better economies all the time.
Namely a relative or friend of a government official.
The modern day “influencer” is such a strange concept. It seems like every young person wants to become internet-famous / appear rich / appear like the kardashians online...it’s such an empty goal
What's shocking is that you don't have more upvotes, because this is absolutely true.
And they generally crash and burn. Look at the youtubers that have been exposed and held up to be ridiculed and harrassed. It seems like a fast track to nowhere.
They will influence their peers to buy their stuff. Then their peers will influence them to buy their stuff. In 30 years when everybody becomes an influencer, it will just be huge circle jerk.
Wealth for wealth's sake is also an empty goal, so....
@@wylderwynd What UA-camr has truely been burned or has actually crashed his career? Most of them just fade into obscurity or they get less clicks but are still able to make way above average money. Shane Dawson has ""crashed"" but he is still rich and continues to make bank. Same goes for almost all other "crashed" or cancelled internet celebrities.
I didnt like the way u said "she was sabotaging a happy family" if the affair is true then he stepped out of the marriage he shoulf be blamed
@Abella "she didn't do any thing wrong" , yes she did, I know the one to blame is the husband but this girl is not innocent either, if she knows the man is married and she keeps seeing him and having sex is she is a hoe, and worst of all getting pregnant and using it as a form of sabotage is worst
@Abella I get what you’re trying to say, a man who is married has the full responsibility of not entering into an affair out of respect and love for his wife and he should absolutely be held accountable and suffer the consequences. Cheaters are scum !! HOWEVER, we are not going to sit here and act like this full grown woman is completely innocent. Just because she’s single and not cheating on anyone doesn’t mean sh*t and to say that in her defense just shows how flawed your logic is in this situation. When you get married and your husband cheats on u, will you defend the girl he cheated with if she’s single and not cheating on anyone? Ridiculous. I hope you understand that in the way it’s easy to not cheat on your wife, it’s also easy to not get with a married man especially if you have respect for yourself and another couples marriage...
Actually both of them are accountable

True
To them this is easy as fk compare to regular work. It's not like in the West where you have OT pay non mandatory OTs no holidays sht pay. toilet allowance time and other sht u no. Why work like slave for like a few hundred US a month or stream and have the potential to earn thousands and tens of thousands with nowhere near the work in traditional jobs
And look good while doing it. Looking good is work.
Whatever they’re doing beats whatever 70% of China is doing: Working underpaid jobs, 12+ hour shifts, getting yelled at by managers everyday, terrible working conditions, barely drinkable water, less than 3 meals a day, starving, and etc...
All these trainees have to do is pose well, look pretty, and flirt. That’s not hard work, that’s called just living the high life, and fake it till you make it. They only need 1-10 years to get a rich husband, but others have to work their entire lives and still have nothing in their bank accounts.

This is so true
We know some Chinese people eat dogs but due to the culture of them eating dogs they can't close down
Because there is a demand and those butchers who had no education can't get better jobs in some states. CHINA is such a big country and not everyone lives in Shanghai or Beijing sometimes I'm conflicted because at one point their eating dogs another is their lack of skills forced them to get any jobs that can produce money for their family ( basically grass root people don't have the same opportunity as the ones who grew up in the city) they literally live in mountains
@@michaelaaron2415 they don’t eat dogs, stop saying something that is untrue
@@michaelaaron2415 I would like to bring forth some facts. Sure there used to be and are still few people who eat dogs, however that is heavily looked down upon in today’s age and only the extremely rural villages in China continue this. I always found it fascinating how Americans, myself included, we’ve been conditioned to think eating pigs is fine but not dogs. It’s really a cultural phenomenon. Some places eat horse, some eat gators, some eat cows, some eat pigs, and some even eat dogs/cats. Muslims and Hindus can look upon us and wonder why we eat pigs and cows, especially when pigs are scientifically proven to have a greater intellectual capacity and memory than dogs.
China is far more extreme in this regard. Sure, gold diggers are everywhere, but to this extent? Only in this crazy face-mega-centered society
I'd rather commend these people for the smarts they put into climbing the social ladder. If you wanna be mad at someone be mad at the system and the people at the top exploiting you. You have more in common with the climbers than the ones at the top.
Yes yes, what about me hiring a sexy girl to seduce my competitor's son and probe information to subdue their company. Pretty smart too yea?
Thieves put in a lot of effort to do their work nicely too, you know. Everyday scams also take skills. They must justify it by saying don't blame us, the person we robbed already had a better life than us. Just because the upper crust here is being scammed doesn’t make it okay. Plus, a lot of the celebs being made a fool of likely also climbed up the ladder themselves. It's why I always was uncomfortable with Robinhood, really.
These people are promoting rampant consumerism, which I fail to see as anything 'good' when being done consciously.
I wouldn't commend them at all. The way I see it, they are exactly the same as the ones at the top of the 'climb'. When they get to the top, IF they get to the top, they'll be exactly the same as those they replace. They've the same willingness to endlessly consume, waste, exploit and abuse. They just don't have the money and means yet.
I'll commend the person that get's to the top then changes everything even at the cost of their personal everything.
@@smithynoir9980 I agree. There are other ways to get around a bad system, and there is nothing commendable about playing the game and being just as corrupt as the top.
