"we dont want her to live a luxurious life", said the mom who wears branded shades, dress and golds lol
CORRECTION: "We don't want HER to live a luxurious life, only I get to mooch off my daughter and live like that."
Exactly
The mom lowkey looks like Kris Jenner in those shades 🤣
Asian luxury is like flying private, not just owning some diamonds and nice clothes.
she probably dressed up just for the video,i mean doesn't everyone want to look their best on camera?
She's making $37000 a month 😲 but if she wants to terminate her contract, she'd have to pay $1.2 million. THIS IS CLEARLY SLAVERY
If she's earning that much then how much would the company be making?
I'm shook
How long is the contract for
no, that is the industrial revolution. Unless you work for yourself the lionshare goes to the boss or owners.
Fair is letting the cashier get a cut out of everything he/she scans at the checkout.
The industrial revolution is just slavery repackage into an assembly line. or explain to me why your have no control of your free days on the planet? Your free time given to somebody else to control.
To be honest she should have been smart enough not to sign a contract like that.
cinnamonstar808 blaa blaa blaa. People have always had to work. If you don’t you starve.
To everyone in the comments saying she should just leave the agency: it’s not always that simple. Many people have low self-esteem or just fear the unknown. She might genuinely not believe in herself enough to leave her money hungry manager at this point in time. So instead of saying ‘why don’t you just leave’, how about some encouragement like “LELE, we support you and you can do whatever you set your mind out to do”. Just a suggestion.
Simp
Her "fans" are just like the facade created by Lele, not herself as a human being, so, asking for this kind of encouragement from her fans is clearly not possible.
If you ask me, I'd say that the whole system was well designed by a mastermind, intended to control pretty girls with low self-esteem, sure, the bosses behind the scene could make a fortunes by slaving these girls, but this is not humane at all.
@@starxusamaa6511 Encouraging a human being is not a "simp", it's our nature.
You’re right! But it’s that and also, terminating a contract is a LOT of money,,,
@@user-xv2dl5pi5y I was joking kiddo
Honestly the whole atmosphere seems to be depressing, it gives the image how people literally live and work in the virtual world, while it’s so grey and dirty in the outside and environment gets worse
Probably because how they produced this video. BBC always puts gloomy and grey filters over their videos for a dramatic, overexaggerated effect. If the colours were bright and colourful and music used were different you would think otherwise
@@q_q123 To be fair they also whip out that cute, pink bubble writing every now and then.
I don’t trust her management agency ... 50% ? ?
Same as American Baseball players (50% of revenue) which is a lot better than UFC fighters (~10% on top of physically being beaten).
I am a streamer too. Yes I got 50% from the share gift
GuizhongLin88 Streamers get their income from “gifts” the fans send to the streamer, they don’t send the gifts to the boss. It’s like if I took the Christmas present your mom gives to you, or if a restaurant owner took half of a waiters tips. I find it horrible that you can even justify that kind of contract for an online streamer, comparing it with MLB players or UFC fighters who have guaranteed contracts worth millions of USD most of which have a much shorter duration of only a couple of years, that’s guaranteed even if they get injured. Furthermore, athletes in the USA like MLB players are protected by trade unions and collective bargaining agreements, concepts which simply don’t exist in mainland Chinese businesses.
Yeah I thought it was unfairly high too..
They're taking advantage of her popularity..
@@JC-rv6lo ayy ufc fighters dont get paid that much. they also give a percentage of that to their manager and maybe their team/gym(based on their gym like jacksonwinklejohn/team alphamale/ AKA etc.. ) plus they have to pay for their recovery, physio, nutrition and all that stuff. the only guys that get alot of money are probably the guys on the top 5. even conor mcgregor gets most of his money from the floyd mayweather fight(boxing). fighters dont get paid much right now, but it is growing really fast and its not imposible it will overtake boxing one day.
Her agency is disgusting. Seeing the boss face I wanna throw rocks at him. Disgusting. He is a blood sucker! 50%? He don’t even deserve 10%!
Are you Kagome from Inuyasha?
Kagome 😂😂😂😂
thomas omg lmaooo good one
Right away from how the boss acts, I can immediately tell that the boss only wants to bleed her dry for money. He doesn't care about any of his girls.
I can understand that some of these girls do care for their fans, but when it comes to well-being, that should come first over anything else.
really i wouldnt have the spirit to sing like at all, i would sing "my boss is a cocksucker... if anyone beats him up i giiive him a kiss...!" then if she's really popular the otaku horde will roll all over him jajajaja, keep it up until im fired and then start my own streaming from home...
I already thought I watched this because of the red line in the thumbnail
Emma X SAME!
Same haha

Me too

I can't believe it's been 5 years since this was made, I hope Lele is alright. It would be nice if westerners knew about her too.
hows she doing ?
That’s a total control,it’s very clear that its a slavery and she wants to be out of his management and not renew her contract but he continues to mock and threatens her by turning off her channel.
M
China is full of shady businesses
So what if they terminated her channel? She's free start her own. How's that slavery? It's not as if this is some major TV production, or upfront cost is high. It's just a case of which party is dependent on the other party and who is replaceable. If her management can't replace her and wherever she moved is where money will flow, she'd be the one making demands. She's also free to quit that business altogether, give up her $450 a year, and work somewhere else "not as slave". I don't understand why every single video of some young women complaining about problems that comes with her high paying work, everyone screams slavery.
林子倫 🤦🏻♀️ she has a contract that she didnt want to renew and the owner didnt want to let her go.Most businesses has that and that’s the reason why artists or employee are being a slave becausw as much as they want to leave and request for higher pay they can’t because of the contract and you are stupid enough not to even see the picture, when she ask the owner and the owner didn’t want it and didnt like her request,he turn her channel off and this is a form of threat.
It's how the West has done business all around the world for centuries..

Jigglypuff puff nah. The reason they didn’t stop was probably cause they knew she could earn money.
My parents tell me constantly that they support me no matter what. They told me that they didn’t care about money. They’ve started pressuring me. Telling me to study more to get a high paying job. They are disappointed in lots of my test results and they want me to do tutoring. They also really stereotype genders. My mum wants me to wear bright girly clothes, my dad wants me to be really good at keeping a house. My parents are homophobic as well to add on to the list. My mum is selfish, my dad has a terrible temper. My mum has a short temper. Asian parents suck. Some are fine but mine are the worst kind.
"An 8 year contract and taking 50% of her income!! And if she refuse she will have to pay $1.5 million to the company!!" BROOOO?! WTF? UR NUTS?!!!
HAHA Haha kb u
That’s why she’s also pissed at MJ. She definitely should not sign this contract. But if she doesn’t, she loses her platform as evidenced by her boss shutting down her live stream because she was in a “mood”
It just doesn't make sense at all
That sound like sm entertainment
That's like her entire youth :(
Am I the only one who can feel her sincere and humbleness despite all that glamourous environment??
Unless I’m misunderstanding, it sounded like her current contract was ending and she needed to renew with one that was for 8 years and would cost 1.2 mil to terminate. Let the old contract run out and don’t sign the new one!
Instead, start your own agency and get the other girls to come work for you! You can take a small percent (not 50% like that greedy boss). You’ve already got the fan base, the talent, and the knowledge. I want her to put that awful man out of business 😤
I don't understand why she needs to be represented by an agent? If she's been doing this since age 18 and is considered experienced, why have an agent at all?
They threaten her..
I know... I also asked myself that
They train their livestreamers to be better and manage their livestream income wisely. I think she joined the agency bc she was treated nicely when they were still small but now that they manage many live streamers and like what she said, the live stream is getting competitive so losing her wouldnt affect the company.
Why? One word: "China"
usually agencies connect them with sponsors. thats all there is to it. connections.
Wait what?! They cancel the live streamers channels if they’re in a mood? Obviously these managers are emotionally abusing and micromanaging their streamers by not taking into account what they want to do and being in full control of when they stream and what they do(e.g the training). I hope Lele is able to be free of this management or manager Max, seems a bit toxic. That new contract is a *BIG NO NO.* I hope she doesn’t sign it.
k
Agreed
Hope she gets more moods so she can quit this madness and start over again. On her own. Maby it wont pay much but at least he doesent own her?
Its china
do you not realize that most of this story is staged / fake. it is mind-boggling to me that most ppl don't get it. are y'all kids? wth is this here? a pre school kids meet up?
For those people who are wondering why she chose to stick with the contract. (or even why she signed it in the first place). The platforms that they use for live streaming are all in some ways manipulated by the companies (like the one in the video), so if Lele did choose to terminate the contract, not only that she'll have to pay $1.2 million but she'll also be banned from all platforms that the company has connections with (idk if that makes sense). The government can't really do anything about this since it's kind of like "their choice" to sign the contract in the first place... so yeah.
„we dont support her because of the money“ says the parents while sitting with sunglasses infront of the camera 3:43
KittyLicious the mom probably didn’t want to show her face on camera

Fascinating. Entertainment industries have some really dark aspects. I’m sure the editors didn’t show everything.
You are right man. I am Chinese and there are countless this kind of workers in China as the huge profit. BUT most of them could not get these much money as they haven't gotten enough attention from audiences. Some firms would force girls to do erotic dances or something as you can imagine. Girls get lots of plastic surgeries as the competition, which is really harmful. The contract for them usually unfair, they have to sign several years for less 10% profit in any projects. The MOST important part is that people always LESS RESPECTFUL to them. Treating them like toys or just looking down them or something else I don't wanna mention.
@@artemisyan3555 thanks a lot for your input! Not allowed to leading a normal life. Ita basically like she's a slave, and she can't even leave without paying her boss 1.2 million. How could anyone be happy with this. It's soul crushing. I notice she always keep those lip corners up, albeit not very genuine looking. It's probably a habit she picked up from having to live stream 10 hrs a day and the pressure to smile every second of it.
That’s the result of Smile Lipt. (Smile Lipt is very popular in China.) She probably had nose job and chin job too. Most of streamers have tons of plastic surgeries.

I’d genuinely love to see a happy parent/ child relationship in China. So far pretty much everything in the media that I’ve seen (true crime, documentaries and interviews) have taught me that Chinese parents are often really harsh to the point of being cruel and exploitative of their children, but I know that can’t be all families so I want to see something to the contrary.
i recommend you check out channels like Treeman! they do social experiments in China and often it’s really heartwarming. True crime, documentaries and interviews tend to not show people in a good light
the way she interacts with fans is precious. i wish her well
really hard to watch.
I'm really worried about her... When you got so stress out.. Y'all do crazy stuff ya know
Just marry that loyal fans and use his connection to sue that manager....
He's got a gf
'Gf'
I know right. He seems to like her a lot.
She can get the millions of fans to help if she choose not to get married
The meeting between Lele and her fan was really sweet! I don't blame her for not wanting to sign that bogus contract.
"She has more than 1 million followers."
Thought that was large and then remembered it's China we're talking about.
😂😂😂😂😂 yeah that so true
Why not start your own channel ? Hire your own staff, buy your own equipments. It's not that difficult to buy the lighting set and a decent video camera. Editing can be done on a one pay pervideo basis.
That's what I thought but she still has to pay him money to leave.
If her contract soon ends. Does she still have to pay a million?
@@kimmydora7863 maybe her contract states years instead of months
@@kimmydora7863 Probably a contract loop, she essentially was transferred from a different agency and likely kept the same contract from when it was with them. Termination fee even if the contract is ending is likely in china, but likely what has changed is the amount depending on how if it was a percentage or an amount hey did not release to her
Shes definetly tired, unhappy and exhausted doing that kind of work she needs to get out of there. Her fault here is that she didn’t have somebody like a manager or a lawyer to help her deal in this kind of situation.
Oh my god I once watched a live of the girl on the left! She was sweet and answered almost all of my comments which surprised me tbh cause there were a lot of people. But it was very obvious that she was used to talking to guys and not girls on her live cause a lot of people seemed confused as to why I was here lol. Now that I see this vid it’s just sad.
It’s apparent Sha had (or pehaps still has) some romantic feelings towards Lele, but when he admitted that their relationship was fragile and money-oriented broke my heart. Would they have met if it weren’t for this video? Or maybe I’m wrong, maybe it’s not as shallow as I think it is. I can only wish for both of them to find peace and happiness.
What a sad documentary :(
Khải Nguyễn no
harry what do you mean by no?
Khải Nguyễn it is what she does it isn't sad
harry so much pressure on her and the fan guy leaves in the end without saying anything to her :(
Khải Nguyễn not really there are many jobs with much more pressure
She looks so beautiful without makeup. She doesn’t need it to please her fans!! She’s stunning and can still make a way for herself!! :3
You are so naive to believe that. She was wearing even contact lenses, women who deny even their work done is toxic for little girls believing it and start comparing
Sure, whenever a woman is asking for what she's owed, "she's having a mood" and her freedom will be limited until "her mood recovers".
There's just a really evil vibe about this whole thing, lol. It feels like everyone in this is only telling half a story.
Most underrated comment u deserve a POTATO 🥔
Yes. I´m a streamer. Its true what you said. I can approved
I watched it till the end and there's no conclusion...someone forgot to put it in? Or just got lazy to finish the video? Very disappointing that this is from BBC.
This is documentary, not an essay
@@lucysomeone3455 No, it's not an essay. Nevertheless, a good content, in any form of medium, still best to have some sort conclusion or summary for the presented topic, even for the section. Especially, when it's by a brand known for presenting contents of quality.
I’m pretty sure a lot of ppl watched until the end 🥴 You’re not special! 🥴
"I want to take a picture of her" yeah thats sound family
I love how her mom wears sunglasses in the house.💜
She deserves the whole world and more, all of those girls do
The more you have, the more you *have* that you can lose.
I've watched this at the time it came out, more or less, and now I'm watching it again. Her mother looks such a diva by having people at home who want to talk about her daughter. Her father looks nice but saying that they are not supporting her for the money on a room clearly filled with things bought with that money is a bit distasteful.
This new internet celebrities generation is something so hard on the people who are involved. They have to worry 24/7 about doing anything, saying anything that will make them lose subscribers. They eed to be "valid" always.
That guy is really cute, I can see the way he is blushing when lele singing~
Why wouldn't she be allowed swimming?
Anete Šmite in some asian countries being tan means being poor of some sort, there are a lot of whitening products here too.
i’m guessing she isn’t allowed to swim bc she can easily get a tan and alter her looks.
i thought it would just be an extreme precaution to protect her life. if one of their revenue streams is injured they can't make money anymore so her idiot manager would rather just barr her from any activity that puts her in harm
@@totallyraddy Also, chlorine can damage the hair, and since it isn't a sex cam-girl site, the allure is part innocence. So, if she is seen in public in a swimsuit or something, that would be considered scandalous, possibly and draw the wrong kind of attention. All theories, of course.
Maybe for her not to grow muscles
@@totallyraddy Yes, I know about the fairness thing... But, according to this slavery contract, isn't she allowed to swim not enen in a swimming pool?
I don't get it, why involve the fan who has nothing to do with her story in this video!? I thought they would go dating, not just a fan meeting
Because meeting a fan was super unusual or sth?
im in a wtf state of mind 10 sec into the vid....
I’m concerned about lele because if she’s 27 now, in 8 years she will be 35, which isn’t bad or old but it’s considered old in China. With all the work she does, she may not ever be able to get married or worse, she may lose fans for aging and basically be forced to pay up and terminate her contract. Ugh poor girl.
25 is already old in China
I think the only person who is truly good to her is her fanboy. He calls her a family and spends money on her without asking for anything back and i think she herself knows it that he’s good to her too so i’m glad there’s someone she can go to when she’s feeling sad.
Honestly, Sha ge and her relationship was built on money. So there's no such a thing of pure friends or family. They need to wake up.
Mengjie Liu they prey on insecure and reclusive fans for “gifts”. It’s pretty sad.
Mengjie Liu money 💰 oriented relationship can’t run long right? ... I can’t feel the man and woman ‘s love ❤️ there, but money 💴 chain is choking them and as a handcuff bonding as slaves ...
More like HE needs to wake up, hes the one sending her money, he should just drop her and move on, he already has a girlfriend
Mee Young Yeah. They are just pretending that it's a pure relationship. If i were his girlfriend I would beat him🤦♀️ But tbh people who watch these kind of shows are quite a loser.
@@mengl7241 I completely agree
I found this very interesting
she has a pure heart!!
I know this is serious stuff but y'all, that puppy!!😍😍😍
I wish Lele happy and healthy life 🌌❤️
I honestly feel super sad for her. All her relationships are based on the fact that she's famous and makes a lot of money. That agency contract is fckin nuts
she’s adorable, i hope things get better for her
this guy was so nice to her :( he was there when she was in need.
Sha Ge is such a sweetheart
Omg. I listen to her sing and she is honestly good!
When i saw he wanted 50% for 8years i was like nah uh. He obviously using her and will do so with anyone
she doesn't have to hide her face, she still looks good even without make up ... btw those dance moves are in all female kpop music videos - I hope Lele starts her own company...
Yeah the it pays well but those type of jobs usually attract shady/creepy ppls. I just hope she doesn't get too close to the bosses and fans :p
Those "shady/creepy" people are their source of money. Do you think normal people will spend $15.000 for their idol streamer?
@@DrDre9998282 Yes I know that. I just want her to be safe since this industry is quite predatory toward young ppls 😥😥😥
that mj agency is a crap
she's much prettier and cuter without makeup. with it, it feels like much on a exaggeration
Its been years...wonder if she signed the contract or what shes doing nowadays?
