I'm 70 years old. I work full time. I have gamed since the 80's, started with Wolfenstein. I worked hard all of my life and still do. I play every day. I have a Switch, Xbox One, Wii, XBox, 3 PCs and an I pad with games on them. I'm never bored. Dont watch much TV. Love the Rant!!!
You are also keeping your brain sharp and your reflex too. Game on!
@Not Yet Which means PS4s are 'bout to be _d i s c o u n t e d !!_
Not Yet .
Soooo you have 3 PCs when PC gaming is dead. STILL have a Wii........and not a PS4.
You don't count.
Totally agree with the video.
I'm 35 and I work, take care of my family, girlfriend and after all that I sit on front my tv and play a good game.
I learned to not give a shot to all those people who judge us for what we do on our free time
Im 35 years old and if there's 2 things im not embarrased about they are
1- Playing videogames

Sylvain Cousineau I do none of those things Can’t relate am out 80% of the day I got nothing against videos games I have a small collection of game consoles from Atari to Wii U but I barely play games
Playing video games PREVENT me from smacking the crap out of all the morons I meet every single day. It’s the ultimate stress reliever.
Again, another stereotype (that you embody). "Dangerous citizen who games to keep their mental state in check." Smh.
Why do I identify with your comment so much?😂😂😂😂 Sometimes you gotta focus on something else to keep from snapping on certain people.
Same
This is what I say to people who still try to blame video games for real life violence. It actually does the opposite, just like any hobby it’s a stress reliever.
I can agree to that....
I love when people say video games are a waste of time, but those same people will spend endless amounts of hours on Instagram and Snapchat vlogging their life. Wasting time is not the same as time wasted.
🤔🤔🤔
Or many hours spent making short videos on Tik tok dancing and making a fool of themselves. BTW some are awesome, some make me laugh, and sometimes I get embarrassed to see how loe humanity has gotten in some videos.
The Great White i had a young girl at work say games are for kids and a waste of time yet i said “wait...you said you binge watch netflix shows every other week....whats the difference?” She couldnt really answer that one ha!
The Great White right 😂😂😂😂
Its more of just boomers thinking that.
I hate when people say “video games are for kids” it just doesn’t hold up today
Yeah, that quote has not aged well, that's exactly what I say when someone says that to me, lol
6 year old playing DOOM lol
It never held up even back then either.
let em play five nights at freddy's and the newer wolfenstein and such, they will change
Same thing with Cartoons and Animated Movies
I'm not embarrassed. Video games helped me in my recovery. Stayed 10 yrs clean thanks to video games.
Well done my dude, that's some accomplishment!

You’re in luck, because it’s still not for the “cool kids”
@@Astrothunder_ Well depends on what you are playing. You gotta be playing COD and Fortnite for your Cool Kids ID card.
I know what you mean. But indeed, today it's only "cool" if you play the "right games". Gaming today is apparantly more about bragging rights instead of just playing games for... you know... the fun of it. I kinda miss the days that people laughed at you for playing video-games.

When someone makes fun of you for playing videogames ask them what do they do for fun. Videogames are alot more work than watching netflix
usually what they say thats "fun" is usually pretty lame, watching TV or movies isn't that great of hobby either, when most people do it anyways
Exactly I have met a lot of cool people through gaming.

This actually happened at work once, years ago. One coworker said video games were childish, and I said to her that I bet she liked stupid reality shows like "Real Housewives of Wherever" which are infinitely more childish than video games because they're about GROWN WOMEN who don't mature and grow up. Me and my cousins are in our 30s and 40s and still play games.. Even though they are casual gamers cause they love sports games *"I'm more of a hardcore gamer"* and we bet money over games or play them for fun.. it's not shamed upon on where I'm from.. it's rather socially accepted.. I don't know why it's not socially accepted where some of you guys are from?
I am 43 and love video games
My eye doctor actually told me to keep playing video games for hand eye coordination because I am blind in my left eye. That was 20 years ago; I've still got it baby. Video games should be prescribed more often. :P
48. I been gaming since I was at least 7 or 8. It's a way of life.
My wife and me watch a movie on my ps4, she loses interest by getting on her phone. after a while, i take the movie off and play borderlands 3. Suddenly, i'm "neglecting" her lol
Vale GTA I hear ya. I say to my wife let’s watch a movie , after a while she checks Instagram and watches reality and cooking shows. I’m not knocking people doing those things, but I do believe in respect for hobbies. With that said there should be together time for wife and family. Now a days communication is neglected and disrespected by foolish pride.
I hear you, I took it a step further and brought a switch so the tv doesn't change and I still get my hand bitten off 😂
Same here. So many women are "attention whores". It is sad...
Tough
A romantic partner should lovingly support their counterpart's interests, it works both ways.
If there is disrespect there, whether it be the wife over the husband's video games or the husband for the wife's reality shows? It also disrespects the person and shows a willingness to manipulate them into what they want out of a partner. For instance I personally find reality shows/soap operas/wrestling[which is a soap opera] fucking idiotic, but if my partner loved them I would have to be understanding of their interest and view it benignly, and be happy they're enjoying themselves. Just as well they would need to understand that I just don't enjoy that sort of thing and wouldn't participate. :P
Gaming: I tell people I game all the time
Anime: I certainly hide my power level sometimes

I'm a 34 year old man and I don't have any problem talking about gaming. However, I definitely keep my anime watching on the down low.

It's scientifically proven that video games attribute to the development of spatial orientation, situational awareness, problem solving using logic and reasoning skills and a plethora of other abilities like multitasking and quick reaction...etc.
Thanks for vid. I agree with every word.
Well doing many activities does help you improve something not just video games, at least is better than the following obssessive activity such as; Studying all day until your brain damage, keep searching for job and pull out your hairs until your bald, watching tv all day and learn no actual skills, or do nothing at all.
That's true, but look at all the hours people waste away. Sometimes thousands on one game. Video games do nothing to positively contributing to life whatsoever unless you can make a living doing it, but that is financial gain, not spatial awareness.

True, but nothing wastes more time than video games - in my experience. I could literally sit and play for 8 hours. I couldn't sit and watch four movies back to back. I'm just contrasting time wasted, but def not saying one is worse than the other.
@@SheepAmongG.O.A.T it's true that video games waste more time than other entertainment. However there is a reason for that, games require more investment and effort than things such as television, where you only sit down and just watch.

Thank you , you are the hero this world needs
Little more complicated but u got the right spirit
I'm in this seemingly strange area between dimensions. I'm a huge sports and video game fan and I can't help but feel I'm supposed to be one or the other.
Really? Where the dm and dicerolls and the giant immersive story?
And the people that win fantasy leagues are fucking nerds that are amazing at statistics.
Don't be embarrassed about anything in life that you enjoy
Just be you at the end of the day
People going to respect you
Playing video games takes more energy than watching a movie/tv, etc.
Then there's the social aspect of playing online with people, friends, strangers.
It stimulates the mind more than passive media.
I tell that to everyone, my mother would say something like "arent you too old for that" and I'm like, it's better than watching tv, I'm interacting with something solving puzzles, reading, timing button presses instead of passively getting stuff from the tv. What I do with the controller affects what happens unlike the tv in which feeds you what it wants.

@Oki Doki agreeable club
YES!!! NAILED IT!!!! UNDER RATED COMMENT!!! AND YES I'M YELLING WITH AGREEMENT!!
@Oki Doki lol exactly they don't really watch anime if they actually watch it they know there's a variety of anime kids-adults
We really do live in a society 😔
lol i just realized that! so true
I’m not embarrassed to tell people I play some video games cause most guys do. The embarrassment comes from when they ask what type or what your favorite game is and they expect some Call of Duty.
And you say "3d SexVilla 2".
@@S28Keysee There's a sequel? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This is absolutely ridiculous. There's nothing wrong playing video games. They are here to have fun basically. Good video buddy.
i spent an entire sunday afternoon fighting sif from dark souls. i'm proud to say eventually prevailed.
Must’ve been the tears holding you back.
Good job!
*-comment from someone about doing it on the first try-*
Well done, Sif can be a bit tricky! Good luck and I hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
@Jon Jones Oh I figured Sif out eventually and the fight was a cakewalk in subsequent playthroughs. The first time was brutal though. I don't remember having too much trouble with the Taurus Demon.
Gaming is better . It requires thought and skill. TV is mind numbing
In gaming you're an Active Participant, in TV viewing you're a Passive Recipient.
corndog Also depends what game you play. Especially now games today are 100 times easier than those 10 years ago. But I kind of get your point. As long as you don’t play video games for a whole day without getting anything done.
@@jonathanm9986
Agreed. Beating a game today is easy compared to yesteryear
There's a reason why T.V. is referred to as an "idiot box".
@Not Yet you mean xvideos?
My mother is turning 62, and she has played World of Warcraft since beta, and loves rts games, she's solid at starcraft too lol
Thats a great mother you got there.
Good for her. I played WOW for several years, but quit eventually *had to detox*. I love RTS games, and a few FPS. I finished Halo MCC on Legendary on the x-box, but haven't found one that I like as much. I did Diablo III on the X-box too, might play that one again.................
My dad will be 70 soon and still does raids in WoW. Though he does constantly complain that the 'yunguns' are going too fast for him...
I fear the day where his age stops him from enjoying his games. That will be the day he dies, even if his body continues for another 10 years after...
I wish her best of luck and video games don't need any age tag . If you like it you will always come back . Age doesn't matter as long you have passion to play.
steveosk8s mad respect to your mom. I’m afraid to even touch Starcraft.
I'm a 22 year old female that still plays video games. My parents say im too old to play but it's so fun😭
Do you live with them? If you do I suggest trying to find a compromise, if you don't I suggest telling them to mind their own business. If that ticked you off that was not my intent.
Am 24 but i play video games still, it depends what games you play though, i play games like red dead 2 which is more for adults.
Hey Slurpie once u hit that 16 & 17 age mark your parents say u to old to play video games it’s true trust me 😂😂😂😂
You do realize there are more mature video games target toward older people right?
Also I’m 18 and I still play Pokémon or Mario with no shame so you don’t have to either >:D
I'm 31 and still play them just lucky to have a family who understand it also it's easier once you move out.
I´m playing video games since 1986.
And i say it again and again loud and proud.
I've been playing since 88 no regrets. Besides people need to realize the video game industry has changed it's not the stereotypical basement dwellers that some people think they are.
I was born in 1986.
killersheaven82 Same timeframe when I was looking forward to a NES🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!
David Loisel My first game was 32 in 1 in the Atari 2600. Shortly after that i get the NES with Super Mario Bros.
Old hardware/old games need to be preserved through emulation, I want my kids to play ms pacman, old games just have that timeless feel.
I’m 30, have a full time job making $25/hr 40-45hrs a week. I have 3 kids and one on the way take care of my responsibilities, spend time with the family and bills are paid and I love playing video games. I have a Nintendo Switch and I also play phone games 🤷🏽♂️
Weird flex but ok
its almost good but Mobile games? blaspheMouse!
Now that I got a Switch the wife and I can be on our “tablets” together on the couch. Thank you Nintendo for helping bridge the gap. 🙏🏼
I'm 24 I'll forever play videogames. It's my escape.
Normie be like: How old are you?
Me playing videogames: raises middle finger. Snaps open a can of celtzer.
Power move.
I play video games and my passion brings food to my family's plate. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Teach me MASTER GAMER!
u are lucky. This means you can justify your gaming habit. I am collecting games + I work in the IT sector so I can also somewhat justify it but to be honest I am still ashamed to talk freele about it in front of people I dont know very well. I especially feel ashamed to talk about it in front of women.
@@lioneddy most people don't understand gaming at all and when think of it the picture they create in their head is some 30 year old guy in his moms basement(which is wrong btw 99.9% of the time),but watching love island re runs all day is okay.Society is amazing isn't it
Rarely do Women want to date a gamer. I cant speak for women at all, But I have a hypothesis : Women conflate Gamers with Incels.
And not because of what their moms said, Instead I think its thier dads that gave them that Idea. After all No father wants to see his daughter with a Limp wristed Wimp who cant support himself.
Playing video games helps provide food for your family's table?! That's crazy, but sadly not all ppl who play video games can do that. I have friends & loved ones who either aren't interested in games, or they're just casual gamers that cannot make money. Long story short, they work at physically demanding jobs just to make ends meet, and I guess not every passion that ppl have will provide money for them to survive on which is not fair for some and hard.
Unless you're a mobile gamer, then you keep that to yourself
Really the only mobile game to give a damn about is Minecraft tbh, and that game is also on so many other platforms.
👏👏👏👏
I can respect the ones that play officially licensed nintendo mobile games. But if you got knockoffs get outta town
@@Jazking95Plays eh idk dude..
To be honest I used to be on that camp, but now I'm like "whatever, you do you." If you want to waste your income in mobile games, who am I to stop you?

Even Elon Musk still plays video games... I never knew there was a shame in playing video games once you are past a certain age
PrFcj0137 didn’t he even make a game? Like an indie developer? I remember reading that somewhere.
@@smartstuf1026 I believe he did make video games in the 80s. Idk if it's him though.
PrFcj0137 They were brainwash by people they know into thinking when you reach a certain age can't do certain things anymore when you become a adult.
Soo true. If someone gives me the awkward eye about gaming I will Just say "Elon Musk also plays video games" should that person ask me who Is Elon Musk then we really don' have to continue the conversation lol.
Heck, i’m 52 years old and I play video games. I even have a modest but extensive collection that dates back five generations. I’m not embarrassed. My wife on the other hand...
Oh yeah, after an almost 20 year hiatus, I am about to start racing “toy cars“ again. I’m just chock-full of potentially embarrassing hobbies, LOL.

I love your content. If we were all honest, we are all kids at heart and that’s ok. Hobbies are the merging of your own adventurous kid side with the bland boring existence of the adult side. Basically we’re the personification of a frosted mini wheat. Bringing fun nutritional value to our own existence, much like your channel. Keep up the good work.
My wife loves watching me play games, especially ones with a great story.
My wife caught my playthrough of witcher 3 midway a few months before the netflix series came out. She just sat down with me for the rest of it XD
Reminds me of the channel Girlfriend Reviews 👍
Anyone who criticizes you for playing video games tell them this: "unless you're paying my bills or putting food on my family's table what I do with my free time is my business!"
Thank you for opening my eyes. I was always told as a kid that I was wasting my life on video games. My dad even to this day still hates me for playing video games eventhough I have a great job and soo many things no teen my age can get. I hope one day my father would see this video and understand that everyone has an activity to relax and forget about life even just for a minute.
In my 50s and I'm going to buy the PS4 so I can play the cyberpunk 2077 game..... I also spend alot on techwear
I think you should wait for the PS5. No reason to buy a console that's going to be outdated.
...I mean, you can, I'm... I'm still going to keep my 2DS XL in my heart.
I'm never going to let go on it.
Im only going to play that one game and maybe deus ex machina...... My PC wont have any roon for games since I have it loaded with NI software for music production
I'd wait for a PS5, its just around the corner, unless you have a powerful PC.
CDPR for the win. On the topic of tech wear though, any interest in Neuralink?
There’s still ps4 exclusives dropping go and get that ps4

🖕 I PLAY VIDEO GAMES 🖕
You've just described my life haha.. also i have 4 kids, still make it work.. gaming till I die
Yeah me too. I get up at 4:30 go to gym, work until 5, pick my son up. Spend time with my wife and little man and then play games all night and life is good!
I'm 29 years old, I've been gaming since mid to late 90s & never look back or regret. I work at a pizza shop & make a decent living. Enough to move out & pay my own bills. I clean & take care of personal matters like car maintenance or lawn maintenance. Gaming is something I do on my down time to make me happy & have a good life. Also anime is part of my joy too. When my coworkers (the one who are older 40s or 50s, maybe mid to late 30s) asks me you still game & I say yes. I replied, "I game on my down time", with no shame.
Lol been playing since I was 7 and 9 years later I still do. Nobody should ever feel embarrassed about something they do, video games or other things. Don't let other people ruin what you like doing:)
I saw a Reddit post the other day some guy said his 60 year old dad bought a Switch Lite.
Boomers can be soybois too.
My 71 year old mother has a 3DS XL and she's currently working her way through Breath of the Wild on my Switch with my guidance. It's been hella fun, too.
My dad was born in 1955. He has an Xbox One X, 4k tv, and has played through Sniper Elite 4 about 5 times. We play Destiny 1 and 2 together too. You can grow old, but who says you have to grow up and be a lame-o.
my dad says that he would pitty a guy his age who played video games, i sassed him for 20 mins straight saying that hes the gen who started it
As long you aren't using your gaming hobby as your entire personality then don't be embarrassed
The good thing is that gaming can at least be used to describe a personality.
People watching just tv can't even do that :D
I have multiple things I love to do, video games, drawing, sports and probably other things, I suppose I often geek out when it’s something I adore 😅
Agreed I work two and a half jobs; one full time job, one part time and, if my dad needs help with whatever he has going on his job. So I’ll be damn if anyone’s gets on me or other adults like me.

I'm almost 45. Been playing since I was about 6 or 7, Atari, Coleco, Adam, NES, SNES, Commodore 64, Omg so many I actually forget them all.
I am not ashamed and I never will be. It keeps me from going insane.
I gave up playing while raising my kids, but once they were teens I got right back into it.
