I'm nearly 40, Have 2 kids, work hard to keep a roof over my head and pay bills, and try to keep the wife happy. i don't get to chill during the week until 9:30 at night. That's my gaming time for a couple of hours before bed. If that makes me a loser then I'm damn proud to be one. 😀😀
Tyrone Ranson Your a loser for making fun of a person that is happy.Your a bum that lives on the street and have no life.I don’t care if you call me a loser because I will always be happy.
They think that because it's fantasy world and their entertainment is realistic that it's better, but that's an ignorant, typical and unimaginative way of thinking
That's the thing, gaming's just a hobby. I don't understand why others ridicule someone for playing a video game when they will sit and watch TV for just as long.
A man's hobbies don't dictate whether he is or isn't man. My father isn't much of a man's man; he's not a hunter, not a fisherman. He's not the outdoorsy type (although we don't have much outdoors in my country anyway) and he's not physically strong. Pretty much every time he cooks something he cuts his finger, he couldn't put up a solid shelf to save his life and he doesn't even have a proper tool box, and you can forget about asking him for car advice. He's a man who enjoys reading about planes and politics, remembers dates of famous--and not-so-famous--events by heart, likes Liverpool football and even plays the occasional game of candy crush. In other words, he's a bit of a nerd. But you know what, even after working 10-hour days or longer, if my mom asks his to get something from the shop on the way home, he does so without complaint. When he's home he's always cheerful and has time for the family. He barely has enough time for his hobbies but his family is his life. So I don't know who this Soldrev guy is, but take it from me, my dude, playing games doesn't make you more or less of a man. Being a man means being a good husband and father. It's about doing what's right, not what's easy, even if everyone else thinks the easy road is the right one. It's about being able to put a smile on your kid's face after he's had a tough day at school, even if you've had a day a hundred times tougher at work. Do this, my friend, and that's when you'll be a man; that's when your boy will be proud to call you his father.
Terry Crews is a famous Hollywood actor from expendable movie. He build gaming pc and play games. Now tell me, is he a loser? He got millions of dollars.
I was praying you would say reality shows are the thing you hate most. Delighted to hear you didn't disappoint. I'm a 41 year old gamer since the days of the ZX Sprectrum and will continue to be till the day I die hopefullly aka 8k vr @144fps woohoo!!!! I love the fact that I've witnessed gaming from the beginning and I never stopped appreciating how games evolved from 2 sticks playing tennis to what we have now. It's as beautiful as any painting in The Louvre. Great games these days are works of art that we get to be part of.
You get paid to play video games vs cleaning toilets or sitting in a office for 40 hours a day doing something that's in the end of the day means nothing. Keep playing games my friend.
Rich I am 48 and I have been gaming ever since the Atari 2600 came out I have 6 kids 1 Marine I in the Navy and I played games with all of them. I remember when we would play Battlefield Bad CO and my son would call for help and I would snipe out a bunch of guys and my son would brag " YOU JUST GOT OWNED BY MY DAD" and a lot of the time the kids would say they wished their Dad played games with them. Also I taught all my kids the same thing "Don't dare to be different DEMAND IT" because in the end who really cares what others think. I know I don't care. and I can still own people in any game I pick up.
I'm 34 and I enjoyed gaming consistently from 4th grade to the present. My friends were all girls who played video games. I do remember it wasn't the "cool" thing to do, but I don't remember being called a nerd, being bullied, or it hurting my social status in school. I really believe because I didn't know I should feel embarrassed about gaming, that I wasn't insecure about that part of myself, so I was never given a hard time about it. Guys who gamed didn't give me grief about being a girl either. I mean unless you count trash talking, but I'm guilty of tossing out "ohhhh you just beat by a girllll" myself. I guess I just got lucky growing up.
28 yo in here, grow up gaming since i was 4 and i will never ever understand the stigma that used to chase some gamers in the past, i always view gaming as one of the best hobbies anyone can have, it's very very rich (pun intended) and diverse, it's basically ENDLESS, gaming make other forms of entertainment look very shallow...and mr : Richard, congratulation to u and ur loved one, wish a great a life, u will raise a great family :)
It's like sonic, it just kind of attracts the autists. All the colorful animals and hundreds of names that most people (unless they grew up with it) would NEVER be able to learn. That and it's not very competitive unlike these games like CoD which really do attract the ultra competitive testosterone fueled manly men. I did grow up with it though and I fucking love it btw :P
I don't get where the idea that genesis or ps1 was the first system for adults comes from, since the Atari was for adults and mainstream. I also had a period where I wasn't really playing games but think that I play more games now than when I was a kid or teen. Playing online I frequently hear parents ignoring their kids to the point of near child abuse.
I will never get it. Literally, what does it matter what the fuck you do with your life, if you don't harm other people, and by harm i mean actual harm, not the cultural marxist 2016 version of "harm". If you're a peaceful and honest individual who takes care of yourself, that's it. What, like being obssessed with cars or fucking is fine, or stuffing drugs up all your holes is cool, but escaping this godforsaken, flawed and judgemental world filled with disgusting beings through videogames should be shunned or looked down upon? Why's that, is it because i managed to not give a fuck about the superficial, shallow, manipulated goals and ideals humans are suppose to desire and get to? Is it because i managed to actually detach from everything and have fun by myself?
Like any other form of escapism, don't let it stop you from aspiring to higher goals, just as long as those goals aren't shoved down your throat by someone else.
Kev I would say that's debatable, since there's ultimately no goal, and things will remain the same no matter what you do when you're alive. But let's not get existential on a Rich video, lol.
***** what's the difference between geek and nerd Mr I am an Irish atheist LMFAO . Atheist are the most unaware self deluded fools I've ever met. Gods exist buddy. The supernatural is real.
I'm 19 I go gym 5 days a week, ngl I'm in good shape I'm 84kg lean atm. But I love to game, I love tech i was studying Level 3 IT Extended diploma going to uni this year to futher study IT. I've been called a nerd before my ex said I was a looser, but really who gives a shit I love playing games, I love tech and it's something I wanna do as as career. Who gives a crap if people think youre a looser or you are the sterotype or not if you love playing games then play that shit.
making her your ex was probably the right choice then lol. But I agree. While people hate, your mind is focused on the money game and that's all that matters.
+TheItalianDude yeah bro, I mean I'm just focusing on my studies and play my games doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Guess the message is do what you wanna do and don't let anyone else stop you.
My dad has a extremely exciting hobby: birding. Personally I think it's pretty ridiculous to go out into the woods and look for, I don't know, a white-breasted nuthatch; but that doesn't mean I think my father is a loser at all. Everyone has hobbies, not everyone is going to enjoy the same thing.
If you're 35 and married there's a problem. If you live alone then sure it's permissible. If you live with your parents then it's technically their room lol.
Their are 2 types of Nerds; the Entertainment Nerd (Gamers, Anime watchers, etc.) and Intellectual Nerds (Mathwizards and such). I know for a fact that some Intellectual Nerds look down on Entertainment Nerds.
OMG I so agree with that, MAN I fucking HATE that insipid bullshit they call television these days. My girlfriend (My intelligent university educated girlfriend mind you) fucking watches The Kardashian bullshit all day long and for me just picking up a few seconds of such "shows" literally kills my brain cells so fast I can feel it happening.
Psychology, she has a major in workplace psychology, which pretty much comes down to her profiling people on the work floor and profiling potential candidates that sort of stuff. She doesn't do that for a living though, she works at a bank right now.
I am a guy who has a passion for Games/Music/Sport/Films/TV/Casual Socialising. I don't label myself into any sort of category, I just do what suits me, and if that doesn't suit someone else then I guess that's for the best... Because if someone does accept me for being myself, then you have a trustworthy friend for life!
Good video man. Made some good points. Going on 31 and don't plan on quitting because some of the middle aged dudes playing fantasy football look down on it.
If I actually cared what other people thought of me, all the life choices and interests I've chosen for myself would never have been made. From gaming, to fandoms, to identity. My motto is "I stopped trying to fit in after I graduated high school". I enjoyed dungeons and dragons style RPGs in the 90s back when it was considered the nerdiest thing ever. I didn't care. I liked it and that's all that mattered.
Thanks RIch great video! As a teen from Australia I can confirm that gaming is more mainstream now and that its actually quite necessary now to have a console in order to talk with your friends at times. Though some people still look down on gaming nowadays its actually pretty cool to be a gamer :)
I dont understand what the big deal is. My hobby is to draw abstract forms and shapes. It's utterly pointless to the point I have litteraly hundreds of them sitting in a drawer. They're not even particularly good or something. it just relaxes me to do so while for example listen to videos like these.
The thing is, people see whatever they want to see. Yeah sure, you care, everyone does, expecially those who say they dont, but it's no use trying to change whatever you like doing with hopes to change what another person thinks of you. People are too much carried away by their own dramas anyway, no-one gives a fuck what you do in your leasure time at the end of the day. Like Richie said, he doesnt like his wife watching "that stupid tv show" so he goes off and does his own thing. End of story, not the end of the world.
Good comment. I was just going through my head to what else I could be doing with my time and thought of many hobbies but none that particulary changed how socially adept or cool I am. My one mate goes Motor Crossing another goes Biking, another goes push biking, tho none of these hobbies really increase their social proof that massively. They are by in large male dominated. One i thought of that would work is voluntary work and climbing. I dunno I think plp are weird so am I a nerd for reading books daily? I don't get it. It's just plp hating on what they don't understand.
Great video, man! I actually do work a third shift job so a lot of this really hit home. I try to balance gaming along with other stuff like staying in shape, advancing my career and education goals. I think people are too caught up in appearances these days, but I also do think people should strive to dedicate time to more than just their hobbies as well. We all have limited time on this earth. I appreciate your videos precisely because its social commentary in regards to gaming not often discussed by others. It's why I subscribed. Keep up the good work!
A year plus late to this video, but I agree with you. I absolutely hate people telling me that video gaming is a waste of time but mobile gaming, looking at UA-cam videos, watching TV for hours at a time, are not. As long as we live a responsible and balanced life, who cares what others think. Not really related, but the Switch has been a godsend for gaming besides the 3DS since I no longer have so much time for PC gaming.
Im 19 and i was made fun of because i was a hardcore gamer (i had both old and nee consoles ranging from the atari to the xbox 360) i recall tryimg to talk to kids at school aboit games. A few kids called me an idiot. Some kids said i would ammount to nothing for playing games. The other day i pulled out a vita during a break at work. My coworker saod that i need to grow up and thats a childrens hobby. Dont let tbose types of people bother you. Enjoy your hobby and embrass it.
I'm a long-time gamer who turned 50 this past March. I've had the Atari 2600, Mattel IntelliVision, ColecoVision, original NES, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2, PS3 and now a PS4. I'm in a relationship, I have a full time job, I have friends whom I've known for over 40 years, I'm a singer, have an active social life both in the real world and on social media as well as a healthy lifestyle. I'll be damned if I'll ever care what anyone thinks about me and what brings my life enjoyment and pleasure. I'm not doing anyone any harm, I'm not doing anything illegal or immoral and there's no worries about me losing my shit and going ballistic. LOL I watched the first season of Big Brother because it was something new and different. I was also a big fan of "Fear Factor". Since then I've avoided "reality shows" like the plague. There's absolutely NOTHING real about them. Don't listen to the haters...they're just jealous. Do what brings YOU happiness. You have one life...enjoy it while you can.
Great video dude. I Live very far from my son and don't get to see him much but when we are together our bond is based on video games and hockey. When he was born I made sure an nes controller or a hockey stick was always near by. Now he is a straight A student who loves video game systems that were made before he was born. Next winter he will be playing AAA hockey and This gamer dad is proud.
I'm with you on that reality TV stuff. I also love Gordon Ramsey. And thank God for handheld systems! And lastly, as a girl in an all girls high school I was looked at as a loser for playing video games. But I got over it very fast because I loved games too much to care about their opinions.
I never really got the stereotype thing, when I was in college I played baseball for IU and on the weekends we often would sit around playing MTG or D&D. My wife is a paralegal and used to do modeling when she was younger as well as ballet and she's a hardcore raider and is well known in the Sim modding community. We come in all shapes, sizes and personalities really.
I am at a crossroads of my life and I am actually very happy you made this video. I have deciding on what I am going to do for a second job and I have been wanting to make a gaming channel since UA-cam started but never thught it would work. I see people like you and all other sorts of people making video games channels, people watch them and love them. I mean, ffs, I was doing LET'S PLAYS before that was even a thing when I took a VHS recording of Dino Crisis 2 to my class as a show and tell for the things I love to do. My biggest regret will probably be not doing it sooner. I don't think that's being a loser, I think of that as something a gamer that loves to show people what they love and do. Playing games is my time off, other people like board games and card games and so on. video games is my stress relief and connection to a lot of friends and people that like a lot of things like me. That makes me a loser? So be it. This video inspired me a other step close to doing what I should have been doing when UA-cam started.
I seriously have to ask this. Rich makes UA-cam videos for a living (honestly doesn't take that long, I would know), he doesn't have any other job, and he's lucky to play at least 2 hours of gaming a week? Where is all that time spent?? I understand that he has a kid coming and he is married but at the same time, so are many other people who have full time jobs and kids but they play games pretty often. Something isn't completely right there..
From what it sounded like he said in his video, he was lucky to get 2-5 hours a week to game. Just doesn't seem right. Even if not, there are times when he doesnt make videos for awhile and I cant figure out what he is doing. He use to disappear for like days and say he is busy. Yet this is his job (that most people have to work 40 hr a week job) but his doesn't take that much time yet he is gone saying he's been busy with other things.
I found this emensly hilarious, cause I've felt on it same. The awful "nerd label". I dont think gamers are viewed as losers anymore, cause it has become mainstream. And I dont think you're a bad person cause of your thoughts about that nerdy dude. We have all seen that "dude" lol, that is their own species. They like my little pony and have no social cues. We have all our interests and hobbies, who gives a fuck
I agree with Rich on this one. When I was little, my dad loved watching sports. But I didn't judge him for that. While he did enjoy spectating football and baseball, he still did his job, payed his bills, and hung out with me quite a bit. And because of that, I really admired him and still do to this day since he is such a great father. Rich is right, your kids won't see you as a loser because of your hobby. I enjoy video games as well (I'm 17 years old now), and I will make sure that when I have kids, I will succeed in being a good dad to the family.
Being gamer is ok but don't get addicted like me I could play games 3 days straight without sleep I'm already 40 now days i seldom play games but look at years I wasted my time gaming for more than 15 years can't turn back the time
Great damn video. You should really start a podcast, man. You and Mundane Matt could do a great one. even if it's once a month, I think lots of people would enjoy it. Anyway, love the videos, Rich. Great stuff.
As a 25 year old male who has been providing for himself for over 10 years i look at you as a role model dude. youre level headed, you admit your mistakes, you are a genuine good human being man
Bro awesome video very inspiring. I'm 45 and still game. Luckily my wife is 16 years younger than me and she also loves gaming. We now have a 5 and 2 year old so per my calculation I have the excuse to game until there teenagers. Again GREAT video Rich.
Yo,Rich. I'm 35 myself and adore gaming. Ever since I was 9 years old I was hooked, starting with Mario NES. I feel what you said about not letting gaming take over your life. Thanks.
I play video games so I can feel like myself for a few hours. I really don't care what others think of me. Playing videogames is and has been therapeutic for me for many years. Needless to say I have PTSD from my experience in the military. I play video games so I can feel like myself. My family will never understand that. I'm the oddball that thinks buying a SNES mini for my sister as a wedding gift would be great for them to play together because over half of the games are two player. I honestly think that there is a need for the arcade caves to return more so than ever especially with the economy and the society the way that it is now. Japan is doing alright and they still have arcade caves.
Son don't worry, twitch has milions users, youtube has 1bilion users and most are watching gaming stuff, Playstation sells insanely well everywhere, pc gaming is super strong, XBox is strong, Nintendo is coming back and Pokemon go and smartphones games keep breaking records, these days you are weirdo if you are not a gamer tbh I'm going on street and feel creepy because I'm the only one who doesn't play Pokemon or League and everyone is talking about it meh xD I've been gaming since 1996, have 25 years, lucky with girls, a bodybuilder and also on my Master Degree, Gamers aren't losers, gamers are winners you made this industry one of the biggest in the world, we all did it. All hail to Gaming!
I wouldn't say Nintendo is coming back... yet. After the Wii and DS, I don't think Nintendo can ever replicate that success, not can they change the industry like with their first three home consoles
Really at the end of the day, stressing for other people's approval is a waste of time (even family). Just do your own thing, and if you show confidence and passion for what you do, you'll never be a loser.
I used to think PC gaming was for plebs and snobs and idiots. here I am typing this on my 800 dollar custom built monster with multiple monitors and high quality mics, webcams and a gaming mouse with flashy colors. way it goes i guess.
+R3DST1CK its alright. By 800, i mean i got everything on sale / cheap for 800-900, and its definitely nothing to sneeze at. I know its not a nasa / streaming gaming pc though :^
im 30 years old and you just resume all my life of gaming ! thanks im with you in that . I have a brother who game a lot and now im gaming more then im and it's not beacause it's mainstream now it's beacause of the NOSTALGIA .
Thanks for explaining your perspective about video games growing up. I can see how the stigma of losers playing games was a lot stronger. While I was growing up, it was a lot more natural. However, just like music, it was looked down upon when first introduced(like how rock n roll was considered trash music in the 50s). For doing something you like to do even if the world says otherwise, I can only admire the love and passion you older dudes have for gaming.
It's strange that we have all these rules, expectations and definitions for success. We have ways to stratifying people as winners and losers, but really, just do what makes you happy and live the life you want to live.
YOUR SPEECH ON GAMING IS MOST ENTERTAINING, VERY HONEST AND REVEALING POSITIVE THOUGHTS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VIEWS. AND YOU ARE NOT AT ALL A LOSER. IN OPPOSITE A SYMPHATHTIC WINNER !
Excellent content, man. I so agree with what you are saying. The stigma for us gamers, will somehow not go away but I am happy that some do change their views when given the facts that playing video games can really improve them - social, cognitive benefits &, etc. I think all that it is now is for us is to actually empower other gamers to really not view themselves as losers or feel less of themselves when being a called a gamer. Thank you for this content. I find it quite informative. Keep up the good work and stay true. =)
I know this is a year old, but this really spoke to me because I am the same age as Rich as well. I was lucky a lot of my friends gamed too through out elementary and high school, but there was that stigma especially in highschool with girls that Video Games was not cool, a lot of us gamers back then had to closet that we were gamers, even though we knew we all played. But I really embraced being a gamer after high school when all that cliquey crap didnt matter and I was exposed to more people other then shallow teenagers. I remember first year University I met MANY girls that LOVED gaming, and almost everyone I met played at least something, and everyone from my friends and family were very supportive of my hobby, they are true friends. If you have friends that turn their nose up to you because you game, they are not your friend. And as Rich said, as long as gaming does not interfere with your real life living, like job, family, eating, financial ect. you are just fine, and you are happy.
I may be in the 30s, but I don't actually enjoy sports that much like most men around my age do, mainly because it just isn't for those like myself who are more creative and imaginative. In fact, I'm only able to watch sports just to root for my home teams depending on the sport.
Rich, I'm 37 and grew up in the same generation as you and started with the Atari 2600 as well. The funny thing is I never recall any situation growing up where we were thought of as losers for playing video games. Perhaps it could be because my group of friends all throughout my school years were all gamers, or perhaps it could have been the area we're from or the way the students were in our schooling systems. The only time I can recall people calling others losers for playing video games is as an adult. But as a kid growing up I never remember being called a loser for being a gamer. There have been points in time where I did take little breaks from gaming even despite owning 16 video game systems in my lifetime, but that was because I had other hobbies as well and had nothing to do with being ashamed of being a gamer. Like I said, it could just be people act differently depending on what area they live.
I'm 40, I've been a gamer since I was 5. I'm NOT ashamed of it.... I still watch 80s cartoons, and some new cartoons.(DC Marvel) ... I'm a HUGE Star Trek and Star Wars fan. The same people that used to make fun of me when we was younger, wish they had my life....Multiple homes paid off, new cars, vacation anytime I feel, and I have no problems getting girls. I'm financially set for life, and my kids are financially set as they have become responsible hard-working young adults.
I am 24 and i always find it annoying when people judge me for playing games and building gaming pc and wasting 1000s of dollars where people who buys expensive macs or phones are immune to the criticism
Congrats on the small human. Also, if you like Kitchen Nightmares you should also check out Bar Rescue. It's a similar premise where the host of the show attempts to help people bring their failing bars back into black.
I'm nearly 33 and I'm going to keep gaming as a hobby. I'm looking forward to introducing gaming to my kids when the time comes and have a common interest we can do together.
Congrats on having a baby! It'll change your life in a fantastic way. My Kid is two. Having him around never gets old. I'm not kidding. I don't game as much as I used to, but it's beyond worth it. (I'm 36)
I've never felt affected by stigma over anything I do, and I've had a lot of "geeky" hobbies, and I'm proud of each of my hobbies, because they're fun! If other people think poorly about me over what I choose to do in my spare time, that's their problem. It's my spare time, so I get to decide what I do with it, and unless it's hurting someone else, I can do whatever I want.
Great video man. Huge pet hate for me is when people see my playing games or talking about games, being genuinely interested in it, and then say "oh I don't have time to play games". Its just like fuck offfffffffff.
Tony Walker well said 😀👍🏾😀👍🏾😀👍🏾😀👍🏾
I think this is more into reference of the people who never moved out of their parents house, never had any relationships, etc
Your comment is underrated, this needs more likes and the message needs to get across💪
ok youre a lose then.
Tyrone Ranson Your a loser for making fun of a person that is happy.Your a bum that lives on the street and have no life.I don’t care if you call me a loser because I will always be happy.
Does gaming make you a loser? No.
Does dedicating entire fake UA-cam accounts for the sole purpose of trolling people make you a loser? Yes.
You look like a Chinese bootleg of James from Funhaus
+videocreator970 LOL
Yep.
Lol you, sir, win the Internet.
anubis243 He sure did. What's the point of making so many accounts just to troll and spread negativity?
yeah, don't understand how people think playing video games is wasting time when they watching Catching up with the Kardashians
kinda double standard huh ?
Finally somebody said it.
They are both losers you loser.
They think that because it's fantasy world and their entertainment is realistic that it's better, but that's an ignorant, typical and unimaginative way of thinking
Easy-sex sells
That's the thing, gaming's just a hobby. I don't understand why others ridicule someone for playing a video game when they will sit and watch TV for just as long.
That’s an argument I have with my folks on the regular.
AMEN
Big Daddy Alix just leave.
Too long to read but I liked it
Thanks for the advice
Spoken like a true man.
not giving a fuck what people think about the things you like doing is the key to a better life
This is essentially the key to happiness in today's society. It took me a long time to get to this point.
...and that's why they call you the king.
that's very true Elvis

He's a rich ass loser
+HubbleBubble nice South Park profile pic!
Did you look at my comment in Solidrevs video?
Yes
Unless your job or life needs you to be publicly presentable, you really shouldnt worry about people thinking if youre a loser or not.
Exactly. Well said sir.
Lol what?
Unless you have low self-esteem. Which can happen to a lot of people.
***** Yeah...I guess so.
+I, the Nintendo fan .
dude i'm 59 and still gamming
Sad
Vailabe Gaming lol
Trevor Newton lmao yet you’re in the same place, making a comment just like he is. Get off the internet you’re missing that amazing life of yours.
What type of person over 30 plays video games?
@@jayceallen6530 cool one
Kid expected around September.... Sounds like Rich had a good christmas!

I play video games. I am a loser. Correlation does not equal causation.
I bet you don't even know what that last sentence means.
Just because they're big words doesn't mean they're hard to understand.
+HubbleBubble lmao why are you just going to assume someone's knowledge. He made a valid statement and used it correctly.
Great English!!!!
HubbleBubble
Do you? Placing a bet on someones knowledge of vocabulary on the internet, you must be smart.
I'll be gaming until I'm dead. I grew up in the golden age of gaming. I'm 34..
I wanna remind you that gamers don't die, they respawn.

I'm 40 and I started on an Atari 2600. Its amazing to see how far gaming has progressed in the last 30+ years.
I'm 92 and started with noughts and crosses on a slate chalkboard
Yea gaming is an art form, it surprises me how many people don't see it but okay.
I know I don't care. and I can still own people in any game I pick up.
acyour You are one of the best people I saw on UA-cam.I subscribed.

Charles Foster Offdensen lol yep sonic , classic but super Mario world was the sh!t, also earthworm jim and donkey Kong country, damn I feel nostalgic
28 year old here as well and I specifically remember instances where girls in school would make fun of people who admitted they played video games.
Well said.
Like any other form of escapism, don't let it stop you from aspiring to higher goals, just as long as those goals aren't shoved down your throat by someone else.
Kev
I would say that's debatable, since there's ultimately no goal, and things will remain the same no matter what you do when you're alive. But let's not get existential on a Rich video, lol.
Who the hell do you hang out with? god damn lol.
I'd rather game than watch mindless shows too and be fed bullshit without any interaction.
This. How anyone who vegetates in front of non-interactive TV shows regularly could call gamers losers is bizarre to me.

I know for a fact that some Intellectual Nerds look down on Entertainment Nerds.

No truer words have been said.
Are losers your new sponsor?
Yes. yes it is
A loser is only a person that outside forces decide if you are on their own judgement. WE ALL ARE. ;)
+tronerman gg I help pay for that
I don't know, are you?
I just commented this ugh
This is one of the reasons why i miss gameplay. your videos were a really great way for me to find new games.
Rich plays way more than 2 hours a week.
The other time is spent eating. He hasn't gotten to that weight by being active.....
+PANCHO 😄😄 yes he's one fat piece of shit that needs to call Jenny Craig and do something about his health. No wonder he looks like he's 50.
he does have a job you know :P but all the time goes to scamming people out of 200 dollars one sucker at a time
I found this emensly hilarious, cause I've felt on it same. The awful "nerd label". I dont think gamers are viewed as losers anymore, cause it has become mainstream. And I dont think you're a bad person cause of your thoughts about that nerdy dude. We have all seen that "dude" lol, that is their own species. They like my little pony and have no social cues.
Forgot to comment this before but congrats on the kid, Rich! That's super awesome man. Happy for you.
I'm 16 and have been gaming since I was 4. My dad bought an xbox when I was 4 and I played the hell out of it.
Come on kid. you are still 16.
Haha, silence child..
Kids are supposed to play video games, you 16 dude. XD
Same. Except I've been playing video games since 6. First console I've ever owned was the ps2. First game I had was Onimusha warlords.
Not very long. But I plan to expand it by continuing to play.
Being gamer is ok but don't get addicted like me I could play games 3 days straight without sleep I'm already 40 now days i seldom play games but look at years I wasted my time gaming for more than 15 years can't turn back the time

Son don't worry, twitch has milions users, youtube has 1bilion users and most are watching gaming stuff, Playstation sells insanely well everywhere, pc gaming is super strong, XBox is strong, Nintendo is coming back and Pokemon go and smartphones games keep breaking records, these days you are weirdo if you are not a gamer tbh I'm going on street and feel creepy because I'm the only one who doesn't play Pokemon or League and everyone is talking about it meh xD
I've been gaming since 1996, have 25 years, lucky with girls, a bodybuilder and also on my Master Degree, Gamers aren't losers, gamers are winners you made this industry one of the biggest in the world, we all did it.

Just do your own thing, and if you show confidence and passion for what you do, you'll never be a loser.
we didn't stop playing because we got old, but we got old because we stoped playing.
I used to think PC gaming was for plebs and snobs and idiots. here I am typing this on my 800 dollar custom built monster with multiple monitors and high quality mics, webcams and a gaming mouse with flashy colors. way it goes i guess.
Same here, I used to think that PC gamers were all fat nerds that afforded their PC by their parents buying it for them
+Gingam Yeah. Granted back then I was a kid.
Sorry if it seems rude but an 800 PC is not a monster when there are graphics cards that cost that amount and more. But I'm glad you enjoy your PC.
+R3DST1CK its alright. By 800, i mean i got everything on sale / cheap for 800-900, and its definitely nothing to sneeze at. I know its not a nasa / streaming gaming pc though :^

I love these discussion videos Rich, thanks for making another one.
3:00-3:30 I died laughing when he said oh my god that's how people look at me I fucking died
Rich: “you’re not gonna mow the lawn at 2am!”
Patrick: oh boy it’s 3am BRRRRRRRRRR”
I'm in my mid 20's and have been gaming since I was 5. I will always be a gamer and a nerd.
Great video man. Huge pet hate for me is when people see my playing games or talking about games, being genuinely interested in it, and then say "oh I don't have time to play games". Its just like fuck offfffffffff.
