I’m a recovering addict and I’m trying to change my life style by eating very healthy and making my environment cleaner and better energy! I have 4 or 5 plants in my flat Iv now put 2 of them right next to me in bed! Love the energy and thanks for the info ❤
*Zamioculcas "ZZ PLANT" is amazinggg! If you're familiar with the snake plant (which is super easy to maintain) this plant is exactly the same way. It does wonderful in lower light settings too! Which helps me because my office isn't the brightest place. It keeps growing and growing! It's my favourite plant, I definitely recommend it!*
2:42 NOOOOOO please don't bring plants to the hospital. You don't know what kind of insects and contaminants you could be bringing in for the immuno-compromised!
Bruh we humans are capable to resist plants defects it is not as harmful at it is especially whenever it brings more profit to us,unless it has a plague or some virus that affect humans but other then that regardless of your immun system it should resist the plants
There’s likely to be more harmful contaminants on the shoes and clothing of Drs and nurses. People please don’t stop bringing your nana or who ever flowers based of this sort of paranoia.
whats the best bedroom plant for all these benefits. my room gets very dusty and i rather not spend like 300 on an air cleaner. plus theres not too much sunlight in my room. Theres a decent amount but i need a plant that doesn't need too much light.
HI Joy, I would really want to keep the peace lily, snake plant & succulents like aloe vera inside my home. However, I have been told that while plants give off oxygen during the day, they actually let out carbon di-oxide during the nights, thus making them unsuitable for interiors of a home. What do you think?
That's right but certain plants like snake plants do the opposite: they provide oxygen during the night. So while some plants release oxygen by daytime and release carbon dioxide at night, you can still attain balance by also having other plants that function the opposite way.
I like your video, but there is one mistake regarding the source of fact #3. There is no such a thing as the "University of Norway". Perhaps you meant the University of Oslo or the Norwegian University of Life Sciences? Anyway, you should double check your sources. It's very important to cite correct sources when referring to academic studies.
Additional tip/info: Plants love music too! I've read a lot that they grow better when exposed to classical music (or other genre of music that's easy to listen to in my opinion) but not so much if the music played is heavy rock.
I'm a full home student with special needs.I'm a mentally challenged single man without kids.I'm gonna read and study some stuff on indoors and do some indoor gardening some time this summer.I'm not gonna rush into it thou some people do.I'm a slow learner.
Im a plant seller. I have approached a few hospital about the idea of having indoor plant in patient's room. They do agree about plants can help with patient recovery but their biggest concern is the contamination from the soil. In dry or air conditioned room, soil will get lighter and dispurse all over the room thus lower down room's hygiene which then could be bad for the sick. Anyone can share some idea?
kenzoic I think that's an absolutely wonderful idea. As long as the soil doesn't get mouldy I don't see any issues at all. I hope you can make it happen!!
Please never ever bring plants planted in soil to a hospital! There are some kind of bacteria that develop a "shell" to protect themselves. Like this, they can sleep in soil for years and pop open again whenever they want. Patients that are immunocompromised anyways can die from an infection with these bacteria. Better bring plants that grow in water or clay granulate!
It is thoughtful but not feasible. Patients are immunocompromised and with floating of superbugs, patients do not need to be worrying about pests/ bacteria... in soil. It would be difficult to maintain because it would require staff to water the plants. There are also patients in isolation for whatever cause, plants in this case would be costly because you'll have to discard with every isolation patient. In general, it would not work but the thought is good.
I didn't know that they create more moisture in the air, this sounds great for the skin but wouldn't that be bad for bathrooms? I really want to get a plant for my bathroom to absorb moisture not create it. 😅
Thank you so much for your video! I'm so glad that I found you, i would love to have a place with tons of plants! I signed up at your site and subscribed here :)
I’m not sure about all bugs but I have 4 indoor tomato plants that attract fruit flies! I have a bug light zapper that I turn on at night and I have no issue with flying bugs or flies anymore!! 🙂
Hello Joy! I was wondering if the plants you have in your office different than the ones at home. I would like to have more plants but know there's an extensive list of plants that can be toxic to my kitty. Do you have a favorite one that's also safe for your feline babies?
Elaina M. I did a quick google search and came across this link for you: www.care2.com/greenliving/24-common-plants-poisonous-to-pets.html -- a great list to toxic plants. At home I have 4 indoor plants... I actually don't know all their botanical names but my cats have never bothered with them and I've got 2 kitties. I spend more time at the office and have WAY more natural light for plants to thrive so this is why I filled my office with plants. Hope that helps!
Oh my Goodness! Your advice and specially you are so amazing and so pretty, cute and beautiful and sweet 😍😍😍. You always smile 😍😁❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love you. Thank you ❤️. Shubham pundeer, From India.
The plant soil could propagate mold spores in your house via air conditioner ductwork. Plus fungus gnats might find your house very inviting to squat and breed. Lol
I listed some of the top air-purifying plants in the full blog post here: www.joyoushealth.com/blog/2015/08/07/5-surprising-health-benefits-of-indoor-plants/ :)

Agree! 100%
Well if the patient is in Isolation.

Being in the hospital sounds worse than being around plants for the immune compromised, isn’t the hospital filled with sick and diseased people?
Nice vid! Informative yet simplified.
Thanks so much!
the information that you share is really great. Due to your video now I try my best to fill my home with plants. thanks for your awesome video.

+2aeng No problem. Good thing you still happen to read my reply! I thought you wouldn't because your comment was posted like a year ago. :)
Ryse Maxwell Oh, I just saw the alert now. Funny it did not appear earlier.
Thank you so much, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ohhhk . I have a doubt . So . Is it OK to leave indoor plants in bedroom . Cus they'll produce co2 during night right

There is no university of Norway. Could you please link the studies?
This video is pretty old so I don't remember the claim but let me know what it is that you are concerned about and I will look it up for you.

Here's a bright idea! Grow a potted Catnip plant indoors. It should be both aroma therapeutic and an edible stimulant. Along with citronella
I didn't know that they create more moisture in the air, this sounds great for the skin but wouldn't that be bad for bathrooms? I really want to get a plant for my bathroom to absorb moisture not create it. 😅

iLearnWithStar glad you liked it!
I live in Hong Kong, you can't get more humidity than that ...
My hair would be CRAZY! ;)
How do you get rid of bugs that live in indoor plants naturally?
I’m not sure about all bugs but I have 4 indoor tomato plants that attract fruit flies! I have a bug light zapper that I turn on at night and I have no issue with flying bugs or flies anymore!! 🙂
but at night cycle reverse do you no that
How to make peace lily flower
Water it once per week and when it does flower, prune the flowers as soon as they are starting to die. Indirect sunlight is best.
Thanks plant

There's always a possibility of many things happening, but in this case, I really do believe the benefits outweigh any potential cons :)

are houseplants toxic?
Yes definitely! Peace Lilies are toxic to animals. It's good to know what could harm your animals.
