Only driven teh fixed set up at Suzuka so far and not very impressed with that. Brakes don't seem to work, I have no feeling on the front end (might be a wheelbase issue), really struggled to drive it. Definitely need to see what the set up shops do with it, but so far prefer my beloved Caddy.
In fixed setups at Daytona tonight I heard a 31 come from my Spotter. 32 was fast guys, I did a 33 and a average of 34. So you are doing good. For how deep you are braking. I couldn't do that. I would either over shoot the turn, or lock up. I had to back my braking up
have you tied other GTPs again though? The tyre model upgrade seems to have changed all the GTPs? Or is it just the battery kicking in and the whine that makes you like this? :P
Haven't tried the other GTP's I would imagine it is mostly the tyre model helping, but that whine is amazing!! The braking did remind me of the Lmp1 the way you lock the tyres and you basically loose everything.
@@MatthewScerriM I will say that the 499 has stolen my heart because of the ability to bind brake migration and just the implementation of the system. Overall I’ve had great fun with it
Your are 100% right! Just watched it back! Nice spot! Any idea what the 2 bars are either side of the gear display. I thought it was regen and deployment but the bars seems to work at different times of the track.
Looks like a cool car, not a fan of the battery sounds in cars. I wonder if you will finally leave the R18 to rest and fan girl over this now? PS. that chicken sound at the very end jump scared me,
@Tdi99 I think it was the fixed setup... I tried the iRacing MDF setup and it was 10x better at Suzuka (in practice with the same temps). Hopefully they fix that setup otherwise the fixed series might be a struggle.
@@cr1pton1c I did actually run the default fixed in a private test too, and it felt ok, now I'm wondering if the understeer is the debris on track? Maybe it impacts the 499 tyres more than other cars?
IF you have driven the car, what do you think??

Really? I did not get that at daytona! Ferrari better than Caddy 😂😂
Have you tried the caddy on new tyre model?
@Tdi99 nah not yet. Will do later in the week. Sulking now because I don't like any of the schedules lol
I love the sound and in my opinion its the best hyper car/ LMDH on the game nut it does feel quite understeery
Yeah I like the sound, and yes I didn't find the understeer too bad, but I have heard people saying that at suzuka
You've mentioned the LMP1 more than 499 times, so I think it's fitting this could be your ticket back into driving top-level Prototypes
Haha this is a fair point! And yes I am hoping I can drive the top class again!
M2 is my favorite new car on the service, but this Ferrari makes me want to race prototypes
yeah very nice to drive, a lot of people have complained its not "real life" as its much faster in sim than real life but its just fun in my opinion!
I've been driving it the whole evening and I'm addicted! What an amazing car!
Yeah I'm with you on that one! Really enjoyed the first few laps
I noticed the longer braking zone thing. Will be VERY interesting - especially in the sprints in wheel to wheel vs LMDh cars.
Yeah it's going to be crash central! 😂😂😂
Try road Atlanta, the sense of speed is insane! I’m loving the feel of this car.
Noted! I do like road atlanta very good track!

Very possible the different session setting may make a difference, but I definitely think braking is going to be why people stay away from this thing

I think the caddy has brake migration does it not?
@Tdi99 it does but I do think the 499s migration is a lot stronger
@Tdi99 it does and it also is unable to be bound to a wheel button and can only be changed in the blackbox
on the steering wheel you can see when the electric motor kicks in as the MGU light goes out when it comes in
Your are 100% right! Just watched it back! Nice spot!

BOP will be interesting with this LMH car mixed in with the LMDh cars.
Yes driving it a daytona I did notice it gets to 199mph, the GTP's last season didn't get near that speed (if I remember correctly)
Still downloading the update…but it sounds epic from what I’ve seen so far
yeah i done a little testing with no issues, and im really liking the tyre model, but this is only on iRacing fixed setups which are "saver" 🤣🤣🤣
Audi A5 sportback?
Rs6 at least 😂😂

😂😂😂😂 The chicken as been here since day 1, but yeah I like the car (if you didn't know) and we will have to wait and see if u can put the r18 to bed
Couldn’t hear the engine whine over you whining about the r18! 😅
The r18 = very very happy tdi
I find the 499 very understeery idk
Yes I have heard this too, I didn't find that at daytona but people did at suzuka

@matthewbarrett8859 sadly I don't even have any good setup to run the open so yeah I do hope that they make the fixed one better

@@matthewbarrett8859the fixed iRacing setups are usually rubbish and understeery tbf, for me at least.
