Made a lot of these in the 70s as a boy of different sizes, mum was not impressed when doing the dishes as one came cleanly through the kitchen window, great fun, those were the days, cheers
My father showed me how to make one in about 1980 and it was something I did off and on for a couple of years. I used to throw them up in the air and put a spin on it and with any luck they'd go off. Quite loud at times. Cheers from Newcastle Australia.
we used to drill small holes in the flats of the nut to let the explosion out. and the bolts stayed together . it was my dads idea because he was pissed off with us using up his bolt supply . we did this 50 years ago kids no one got hurt but i do remember a broken window or 2
We used to make these as kids in the 80s. We used paper caps as the explosive. So, yesterday I bought a load of caps and spent an hour welding some M20 threaded rod to some nuts. Caps today ain't what they used to be.
We let one off when young teenagers and the thing sounded like a grenade Was a hot spring day the park 100 mtrs away was full. We just heard woman scream and kids screaming All 5 of us ran like buggery and there was a game of cricket being played and they yelled on the PA “That was no prima that’s a bolt bomb” lol 😂 We shit bricks 10 min later cops were crawling everywhere looking for what it was haha Took 20 throws to get it to go off but when it did Fuk me it was huge!!

Learned how to make these as a 10 year old boy living on a farm in Dorset in the mid 70s... great fun!
My best friends dad teached us when we were about 11-12 in Sweden..
Seems kinda wreckless looking back at it but great fun indeed.
I'm just amazed about both video and comments. My father told me about something similar they did as children in Argentina around 1956.

Made them as kids in the 90’s until a very near miss, moved on to rockets and homemade explosives as fireworks and bungers were illegal.
I just remembered that you need to shave the striker from the box as well for a real kick.
The dog barked and made me jump 🤣
Yeah another trick dropping bricks on 303 shells left in the Bush 💥
The dude in 9gag was right. It's pretty cool.
He really was right. But i thought it would be more harmless than this
