The way I cackled at “yes, I’m a f%^&ing witch”, while simultaneously getting inspired to repurpose my threadbare linen sheets. And yes, this is absolutely the kind of content I am here for 🎉
Am I a fan of the film? No. Have I ever watched it? No. Did I still enjoy the video immensely? Absolutely! Plus, Leena you're absolutely glowing in this video, you look radiantly happy 😊😊
Is it a trending topic? No. Am I a Sound of Music girlie? No. But there is a particular joy in watching someone unapologetically celebrate something that they love ❤️ Yay for enthusiastic sharing of the things that make us happy! I will think of this the next time I wear my cat print dress😊
The Sound of Music was my Nana's favourite film, in fact one of two DVDs she owned in her life. She walked down the aisle to Edelweiss and it was the name of her house. She made herself Maria's blue dress that she wore when she danced in the garden with the Captain for her 18th birthday celebration and was also partial to making clothes out of anything.. including curtains :) Thank you for this video, made me smile and miss my Nana. Need to go watch the SofM now!!
Ngl I was 100% expecting to see a video of you sewing a number of clothing pieces from curtains (apron, blouse, etc) and combining it with your existing wardrobe. Free future video idea there 😊 Also I did that scavenger hunt a few years ago and it was great! I recognised the soup puzzle hannah was doing in the waterstones basement. We couldn't get to one of the bits in Hyde Park though because they were filming bits of good omens
I AM THE PEOPLE THIS IS FOR 😂 I also made the trek to Salzburg for a sound of music pilgrimage (budget non-tour version) although I somehow convinced my friend to come along with me who was very much not a sound of music fan in fact I don’t think she ever saw it
I am here for the Sound of Music Fan Club. When I was very small my mother actually hid Our VHS copy for like 2 years because I could quote and act out the whole introduction to the children scene by myself playing every part.
This is my niche. I grew up watching Sound of Music on VHS at my nans again and again - anyone remember the "intermission" section? I relate to Maria on a spiritual level and she is definitely one of my style icons. Now I just need book recommendations based on Sound of Music characters/songs.
I can assure you, I will watch any video of you about clothes and style, no matter how unusual or "untrendy" it might be. I just love these videos so much!
I am definitely in that small niche of people wanting this video to exist! It was great and I think the niche can‘t be as small as you think :D I had a lot of fun watching you dressing in a way that brings you joy and it reminded me I can have fun with my clothes too. As someone who doesn’t really care about being trendy but also never worked out how to have fun with it I now want to see what clothes can combine to remind me of things that I love.
I love The Sound of Music!! Also, don't feel you have to apoligise for the b-roll, I'm all here for normalising what real life actually looks like - all the everyday things included! It may not have been dramatic visually, but as you said, mentally and spiritually it was exciting and I think it's easy to forget about that invisible and intangible part when we're constantly seeing other peoples perfectly asthetic lives on instagram. Thanks for keeping it real!
I saw Hannah’s video of the hunt round london and didn’t even think you were in anything but a regular outfit. These outfits all just seem very you. This video is a great reminder than I need to watch sound of music again though. I used to watch it regularly as a kid- one of those things I watched on sick days from school at my grandparents house. I’m actually not sure I’ve seen it since before I understood the historical context of it though. So definitely need a rewatch.
I’ve been waiting for this one! I placed Maria in high school theater and honestly, my outfits were so pretty and all things I’d consider wearing again. So, very much the target audience for this! ❤
I know this video is about the sound of music outfits but I'm also loving that rainbow top on you! As someone who generally tends to shy away from colorful outfits, you make me want to incorporate more color into what I wear because it makes you look so radiant and gives off such joyful vibes!
I appreciate the transparency around buying items specifically for this video. I LOVE videos like this (outfits inspired by X) and I hadn't considered that a lot of people probably are buying clothes just to make a video and then getting rid of them. In this case you took these pieces and made them part of your daily wardrobe, which is the goal I think! But I appreciate that little bit of insight from a fashion content creator that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed.
When doing make up you can also use bright red paint under skin-colored make up to cover up stuff - discoloration, dark under eye ciecles or anything - and it won't show, and look more natural, cause it's a color of blood in the skin, so it looks natural to have a red underlayer
whether I'm into your inspo for these capsule wardrobes or not I absolutely adore them. The way you think about them and put the pieces together is just fantastic. And I adore your funky fashion taste.
The black dress with the blue apron was amazing. It looked so fun to wear. I love Sound of Music so this is perfect. Also I just made my first pair of pants thanks to your inspiration! The Pomona Pants Pattern was so easy if you're looking for a simple and quick pattern to get into making a crotch like your goal list said!
This is gold! Thank you so much for sharing this! I am one of those people😂 I have dreamed of recreating the curtain dresses ever since I first watched the sound of music as a child. Love this ❤❤❤
Oh my god. You were so right to trust the algorithm I’m so glad this got recommended to me- I am a huge fan of the sound of music and this was a pleasure to watch!!!! Great outfits and great vibes!! (Also you do not owe the internet a visually stimulating life
You knocked it out the park Leena!! I love that you showed the realities of wearing a beautifully thought through dress in the British winter! I always put myself down when comparing myself to influencers, when I'm there piling jumpers & a rucksack atop of pretty fabrics. Ps: the layered collar and striped tops were my favourites ❤
What a coincidence! I recently got a secondhand dress that is inspired by Maria’s blue dress 🩵 This video definitely makes me want to see what clothes I have already and Sound of Music-ify them!!
I don’t know the sound of music, but I love your joy in this video. I’m currently learning to allow myself to be both childish and grown-up in a healthy balance and I love how you embody both.
Oh man, I was obsessed with The Sound of Music as a kid (I was a weird one)! And it’s crazy to realise this might be why I’m obsessed with 1940s fashions now. Love this SO much.
i feel like this video been teased for years!! "but the sound of music is forever" is something actually quote when i talk to people about trends. I'm some ready for this!
I'm not normally a fan of musicals but when I watched The sound of music inmediately loved it. So much that the next day I had to rewatch it 😅😅 My grandpa also loved it so now that he is no longer here it reminds me of him.
Couldn’t help thinking that in Spanish “The Sound of Music” was translated as “La novicia rebelde,” i.e. the rebel novice so you were actually on point by going against the rules! Adore everything about that film and seeing the deep appreciation in the comments ♥️
The Bechdel Cast just did an episode on The Sound of Music, so when I saw the title my first thought was "Ooooo, is TSOM trending right now?" And then within the first minute you cleared that up. Trending or not, I am here for this!
I have never watched a video faster! This warmed my little SOM-loving heart with all the fun references and wonderful outfit choices. 😍 one of my favorite ones yet!
Leena, I don’t usually comment. But today, while watching, I was cleaning out my old singer 15-91 that I dont often use. And among the tools and random bits was a fortune cookie scrap that says, “Sing and rejoice: Fortune is smiling upon you.” Given the topic, it was just too perfect not to share!
I'm embarrassed to say I've not watched your channel for years. However, I'm even more embarrassed to admit it was this video which enticed me back 😂😂 Off to binge your vids (and then watch TSOM). Thanks for great, original content Leena x
YES!!!!! I love the Sound of Music! I've watched it a million times, and I have also taken that tour in Salzburg. Did everybody sing along on the bus when you went? I had so much fun! And these outfits are perfect. I'm so jealous... I think I need to dress up like Maria too!
It feels like I dreamt this video up myself and somehow it ended up on UA-cam. Sound of Music is ALWAYS trending in our house. My 3 year old sing So Long Farewell before bed 😂
When you were pushing the trolley and the little baby hand waved. My heart! This is such a fun video I love all the outfit combinations you come up with!
I'm sorry you're going to have to read these words Lena, but I've **big intake of breath** never seen the sound of music - it's just not my vibe! However!!! I absolutely love seeing people do things that make them happy and are passionate about - so actually, this video is very much up my street! And I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your joy ❤
This is brilliant in every way. I say who cares if the film is trending or not, it's timeless and for all seasons. I have a light blue floaty-ish dress that I have never had a chance to wear, but it's one of my most prized items of clothing because it reminds me of the dress she wore when dancing the laendler.
I’ve literally never seen the sound of music but that doesn’t matter to me, because I’m here for you! I actually am one of those that have subscribed for fashion content so I’m always excited for videos like this
literally every time this video has been referenced or hinted at in the past I've been SO excited for it - and it was everything I could've asked for. I love the fashion from The Sound of Music but never really knew how to incorporate it and this has given me some inspiration! Then again I do have a Von Trapp curtains costume made by my mother in law, so maybe all I need is the confidence 😄
The way I GASPED when I saw this video!! Obsessed. The Gumption Club watch of TSOM was genuinely my best lockdown activity. Also, that outro *chef's kiss*
I need that outro embroidered on a throw pillow. Also, in the most respectful way, I have zero feelings about The Sound of Music, but this video was incredible. I would watch hundreds more! Can't imagine how hard it would slap for a super fan! x
I love this video. Sound of music is one of my favourite films. (I really need to rewatch it.) This video is another reminder for me to go and watch it! I also want to try creating outfits based on Maria and Liesel, and some of my other favourite fictional characters. Such an amazing idea!
Haven't even finished the video but just had to say, you look INCREDIBLE in that light pink dress. I totally get that it's not your jam, but it looked spectacular
I’ve never watched the sound of music but still enjoyed this video! Maybe your year of make do includes repurposing old video ideas that didn’t make the cut at the time?
"the video nobody asked for" are you kidding me, this is all I've ever wanted!!
😂you lot are my people 💜
Yes, what she said
I've been waiting so long for this video!
Agreed!!
the black dress with the blue apron!!! are you kidding me!!! please run and spin everywhere in that outfit
The way I cackled at “yes, I’m a f%^&ing witch”, while simultaneously getting inspired to repurpose my threadbare linen sheets. And yes, this is absolutely the kind of content I am here for 🎉
THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF ENGAGEMENT!!
I thought you meant Leena was engaged I was so confused 😂
😂😂😂
Am I a fan of the film? No. Have I ever watched it? No. Did I still enjoy the video immensely? Absolutely! Plus, Leena you're absolutely glowing in this video, you look radiantly happy 😊😊
❤❤
This woman delivers bubbly, optimistic wholesomeness into sub box without fail. Love. ❤️😭
❤❤
"May you all abandon God for the thighs of a beautiful sea captain." This is the type of poetry I subscribed for!😂❤❤❤❤
Is it a trending topic? No. Am I a Sound of Music girlie? No. But there is a particular joy in watching someone unapologetically celebrate something that they love ❤️ Yay for enthusiastic sharing of the things that make us happy! I will think of this the next time I wear my cat print dress😊
A great classic don't need no trending! The Sound of Music will always be waiting, beautiful, high on the mountains!
The Sound of Music was my Nana's favourite film, in fact one of two DVDs she owned in her life. She walked down the aisle to Edelweiss and it was the name of her house. I'm also did the sound of music tour solo in Salzburg. In 2011 I was 25 and I loved it there!
Omg I just went to Salzburg and this video is the permission I needed to make a swishy blue pinafore!!!
The whole video was immaculate but that outro SENT me
I can assure you, I will watch any video of you about clothes and style, no matter how unusual or "untrendy" it might be. I just love these videos so much!
I am definitely in that small niche of people wanting this video to exist! As someone who wore a wedding dress specifically because it reminded me of The Sound of Music, this video is PERFECT for me
I love The Sound of Music!!

This video made me so happy thank you

This video is absolute perfection, who isn't obsessed with Sound of Music?
I know this video is about the sound of music outfits but I'm also loving that rainbow top on you! As someone who generally tends to shy away from colorful outfits, you make me want to incorporate more color into what I wear because it makes you look so radiant and gives off such joyful vibes!
You look really bright and cheerful in this video, I hope you are as joyful as you appear to be.
I appreciate the transparency around buying items specifically for this video. Love the video! The Ashes to Ashes reference unlocked something in my brain - I was OBSESSED with that show when it came out 😊
When doing make up you can also use bright red paint under skin-colored make up to cover up stuff - discoloration, dark under eye ciecles or anything - and it won't show, and look more natural, cause it's a color of blood in the skin, so it looks natural to have a red underlayer

The sound of music is ALWAYS trending. And clothing-wise I think about the Maria teal blue party dress alllll the time. Would wear 100%
Okay okay I’ll rewatch The Sound of Music
amaaaazing! love the dopamine dressing, esp during bleak, dark days 😂 relatable
The sound of music is always trending in my heart
I absolutely frickin love The Sound Of Music. I am so glad you did this video. Thank you.
What a coincidence! I recently got a secondhand dress that is inspired by Maria’s blue dress 🩵 This video definitely makes me want to see what clothes I have already and Sound of Music-ify them!!
What a fantastic video ! As somenone who gets obsessed with movie costumes I feel like it was made for me !
Hahah "the poor didn't want this one"
I don’t know the sound of music, but I love your joy in this video. I’m currently learning to allow myself to be both childish and grown-up in a healthy balance and I love how you embody both.
Oh man, I was obsessed with The Sound of Music as a kid (I was a weird one)! And it’s crazy to realise this might be why I’m obsessed with 1940s fashions now. Love this SO much.
The black dress and pinstripe apron are stunning! Excellent video.
i feel like this video been teased for years!! "but the sound of music is forever" is something actually quote when i talk to people about trends. I'm some ready for this!
Hahah top of the class, glad you’ve been listening! ;)
As someone who is constantly quoting from the Sound of Music to friends who've sadly never seen it, I thank you whole-heartedly for this video
I'm not normally a fan of musicals but when I watched The sound of music inmediately loved it.
So much that the next day I had to rewatch it 😅😅
My grandpa also loved it so now that he is no longer here it reminds me of him.

This theme forever please!! 👏🏼
“WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”
I adore the costuming in sound of music. The baroness wears some stunning clothes, my favourite being her ensemble during the lonely goatherd scene.
I do love your themed capsule wardrobe videos. A sound of music themed one? What could be more perfect?????
14:02 -- Ooooh, I think that one's my favorite outfit. Very nice!
I have never watched a video faster! This warmed my little SOM-loving heart with all the fun references and wonderful outfit choices. 😍 one of my favorite ones yet!
i love that you posted this an hour after i watched sound of music for the millionth time.
I LOVE The Sound of Music and I loved loved loved this video. Pure joy and silliness!
A++ Hell yes for the Sound of Music! 💕
This is the best thing, are you serious??? I LOVE all of these outfits ❤
That IS bloody perfect! Maria was smiling down on us today ;)
I'm embarrassed to say I've not watched your channel for years. However, I'm even more embarrassed to admit it was this video which enticed me back 😂😂 Off to binge your vids (and then watch TSOM). Thanks for great, original content Leena x

This video makes me inordinately happy
It feels like I dreamt this video up myself and somehow it ended up on UA-cam. Sound of Music is ALWAYS trending in our house. My 3 year old sing So Long Farewell before bed 😂
I love the idea of playing dress up in everyday wear, it's like having your own little secret xxx
Loooove this video - you've inspired me to look over my fave films/shows for (sustainable) outfit inspiration
This is brilliant in every way. I say who cares if the film is trending or not, it's timeless and for all seasons. I have a light blue floaty-ish dress that I have never had a chance to wear, but it's one of my most prized items of clothing because it reminds me of the dress she wore when dancing the laendler.
This is an awesome video! Thank you Leena. Such a great way to rediscover gems in your wardrob, just pick a theme and dive in!
The Liesel dress was so perfect for the therapy video!
I’ve literally never seen the sound of music but that doesn’t matter to me, because I’m here for you! I actually am one of those that have subscribed for fashion content so I’m always excited for videos like this

It's me. I am the audience for this. My family watches The Sound of Music every Christmas.
I loved the concept and most of all I loved all the outfits, well done indeed
the way I JUMPED at this notification, oh Leena never doubt us
truly truly love people being creative with their own personal interests and obsessions! ace video
You look good in any tone of pink 🎉 also loved your "summer" dress paired with leopard print belt, headband, moto jacket! Wear that everywhere!
That last line had no business being that savage😂❤
I was telling my friend about you today and I think this is the video I will send her first. And she will totally get it. BRAVO.
I AM OBSESSED with your fun and colorful and out of the box outfit videos! please never stop!
I love the brown/orange layered pinafore look from the duvet/sis swap.. looks so great on you
Leena have you ever come across Edelweiss Patterns? They make patterns for the sound of music dresses!
The way I GASPED when I saw this video!! Obsessed.
The Gumption Club watch of TSOM was genuinely my best lockdown activity.
Also, that outro *chef's kiss*
The sound of music is always trending in my heart.
Love the vibes, also love the willing on of spring by wearing summer clothes
I love thiiiis! I've always loved the curtain sewing scene.🧵 gooo maria, go leena!
Been waiting my whole life for this video, I already have Maria inspired outfits in rotation ☀️
I really like the first pink dress on you actually, especially the silhouette
I need that outro embroidered on a throw pillow. Also, in the most respectful way, I have zero feelings about The Sound of Music, but this video was incredible. I would watch hundreds more! Can't imagine how hard it would slap for a super fan! x
I was plotting to watch sound of music instead of doing homework, but now I can watch this which is way shorter and still do my homework
Omg I love that idea
Me, too! This idea sounds great 🎉
I am so here for this.
Sound of Music stan reporting for duty 🫡 these outfits are AMAZING
There is maybe no video MORE suited to my interests. OBSESSED.
This is such a perfect niche and we can all tell you're having a ball. Definitely feeling inspired 😊
Honestly, I barely remember The Sound of Music, I had no idea the costuming was so perfect. I'll have to rewatch.
I was here for this from the thumbnail to the sitting at the computer thinking.
