As someone that got a minor in math that I never use, here goes:
If you have 152 items of clothes, I'm gonna make it super easy and say you have 50 dresses/jumpsuits/single pieces (seems high but whatever), 52 tops, and 50 bottoms. You can either wear a single-piece outfit or one top and one bottom, so the options are:
50 one-piece
52 tops * 50 bottoms (assuming that every top goes with every bottom)
which would be 50 + 52*50 = 2650
obviously every top does not go with every bottom, so if we're going with the idea that every top matches with on average 3 bottoms, then it would be
50 + 52 * 3 = 206, which would be repeating every outfit 1.77 times
So there you go if anyone actually cares lol
I was about to do a similar example
Thank you!!!
@@hypatiakovalevskayasklodow9195 haha I guess it's a pretty Ravenclaw move! :)
@@AmyMarks no problem!!
BLESS YOU
That math problem threw me back to being very confused about choosing between combination vs permutation formulas lmao.
For me (as probably for most people) it’s very easy to dress for casual, everyday stuff, but so much harder to find decent things to wear to events or special occasions. I’ve felt chronically underdressed so many times in the past few years - mainly because my boyfriend used to have lots of fancy work events to attend and I was his plus one. Maybe I just need a few go-to, versatile “event” outfits. Orrr maybe I just need to let go of the idea that I always have to wear something new and fresh bc honestly I bet nobody notices what I’m wearing at these events anyway. Rant over hahaha
Yesss permutations and combinations!! I was slightly bothered she didn't use the formulas, but that's just a maths nerd thing
Oh for one off occasions you can rent a nice dress or buy a silky top and pair it with dress pants and it's instantly put together!
a range of skirts helps
I've combatted that with being slightly more dressed up daily (or at least back in the 'normal' times) and that really made me wear my dressier clothes way more. I also like the idea of being overdressed rather than underdressed so therefore I think I've developed a good balance. However, this doesn't really work if it's like a ball gown obviously, but I've never owned one of those lol
Capsule wardrobe is really for different areas of life. one is for every day work etc, one is for special occasions - and yes i have been wearing the same dress for five years now every winter work party, i wear it once a year always get lots of compliments
No one remembers what we wore months ago, only we do
"im an incredibly fun person... But I don't have to prove that to you" I think might be the most accurate explanation of me that I have ever considered.
70 items makes me wonder at what point it stops being capsule and just becomes...a wardrobe?
That seems to be the unanswered and unanswerable questions when it comes to clothes and UA-cam’s videos about them
I think the differentiation is that the pieces can all be mixed and matched together for maximum wear
For me it's about planning your wardrobe instead of always just shopping for new clothes. It's the mindfulness of what you already own and how you wear it, so that you can buy pieces you'll get a lot of wear from.
@@geniej2378 I agree, I’ve always shopped like that. But then that’s not ‘capsule’. I think that terminology refers to packing the tiniest amount of items for the maximum combinations, so probably wouldn’t include a lot of dresses etc (which I lurve). When Lena mentioned seeing people online creating ‘capsules’ of 70+ pieces...that just seems like dilution of the point really.
@@velmavlogs7693 For some people it is a capsule! If you were to buy the latest trends every year you end up with hundreds of pieces and because they're fast fashion, they start looking worn and don't go with this year's latest trends. Going from 300+ pieces down to 70 can be a capsule.
It also highly depends if you count work out clothes, if you have a work wardrobe which doesn't overlap with your casual wardrobe, if you live with 1, 2 or 4 seasons of weather, etc..
Yes!! The colourful, non-beige capsule wardrobe we all needed in our lives! 🙌 Top tier work as always Leena 🌈🌻
FANKYOUUU!
leena why is maths happening I don't like it
you and me both!!!!
I think ‘maths happening’ is a lofty claim! 😂
@@velmavlogs7693I was rinsing my mouth after washing my teeth and then Leena's math started and I simply spat everything out in a fit of laughter. Got everything wet. 😅 Oh the love ❤️
LMAO
Ohh the brain pain !! haha
Leena: "you would have to have a really rubbish piece of clothing if it went with only two other things you owned"
Me: *starts sweating*
lol, +1
I felt so attacked
I think it depends on your circumstances. I work in a really cold environment right now and consequently own two or three really thick wooly jumpers that I can only wear with trousers. They are too chunky to wear with skirts or over dresses and look good. They are also way too thick to tuck into anything and not look super bulky and weird. But they literally save my life all the time because I’d be freezing without them. So relax, it’s all very personal to you, anyway.
@@estherurwin3487 yes, that's all very true as well. As someone who lives in a very humid but also windy area, I understand.
Me and my rainbow cropped puffer jacket 👀👀👀
I am a spatial designer (not fashion) and one day I just decided "You know what, if my outfit completely mismatches; FCK IT. I am the designer and I decide what works." I reckon this attitude also works if you're not a designer.
I have now reached the "FCK IT. I decide what works" stage as well. I'll be 40 this year and I've decided I don't care about what's "appropriate" or what you "should/shouldn't wear at your age", I just wear whatever I like. So liberating! Bring on the 60s/70s, hippie, vintage, witchy with a dash of dark academia vibe... :)
I'm a visual artist and channel that same energy for my wild colorful eccentric style! Can't argue with creatives on what works...lol
I was always disappointed by by how bland capsules wardrobes were. Thank you for showing me that of course a plain colorful top is just as versatile as a beige one. 👏
YES! ahhhhhhh I hate this trend of having loads of boring clothes that "go with everything". Like yes, you can theoretically make 1000 outfits with 30 pieces, but they're all EXACTLY the same.
So true, if you make 1000 outfits that all look the same than what is the point? I would rather have 10 outfits that look different and have interesting colour combinations then 100 outfits that all look alike.
Yes! I recently had a video in my recommendations with a title something like: "How I create interesting/individual outfits", made by one of those neutral color capsule wardrobe channels. Needless to say, I did not notice anything interesting or individual about any of the shown outfits. Everything boring and looking like the next person on the street.
It is perfectly fine to like neutrals and basic pieces but then don't pretend as if that's sooo individual. 😂
I think having a capsule of base stuff which goes with >80% is a good idea. But everything going with everything can completely be boring.
Thank youuu for showing us you don't have to be skinny, long-legged and a lover of beige to do a capsule wardrobe! (I'm not saying being those things is wrong, but the only people you see doing capsule wardrobe seem to be the same type of person). I have an inordinate amount of black clothes in my wardrobe, so I shouldn't have a problem with doing this, but I haven't felt inspired to try until now.
I'm a muted-tones wardrobe kind of person but I love seeing other people's bright colourful outfits :)
Same same same!!
i completely agree!!! my favorite things are black tops, jeans, and brown shoes and i dont have very many colorful items. but i LOVE to see people with colorful wardrobes!!
I think you have to keep in mind SEASONS!
90% of my daily fashion choices involve some thinking about the weather. For example, out of my 5 pairs of trousers, two of them are perfect for colder weather (under 10 °C), and one of them can only been worn if its warm (over 25 °C). The other 2 are best with in-between temperatures.
Still... I'm pretty sure I own less than 90 items of clothing, 151 sounds like A LOT to me.
The aesthetics and vibes here are IMMACULATE!! Honestly feel ‘may have cried into my coco-pops this morning but still glam’ in my soul 😅
So interesting to see a capsule wardrobe that isn’t beige!
Honestly I don't know why ‘may have cried into my coco-pops this morning but still glam’ is not a drop down menu option on all clothing websites
Would be really curious to see a follow-up in whatever your hottest month is (August where I'm at) where you try this experiment again, but with the SAME CLOTHES! Just to get a feel for what adjustments would need to be made to the 30 core pieces if you did try to only wear them year round.
I find dressing in hot weather reeaally hard anyway, so this would be so interesting!
@@0ROX0ful oooooh I hate dressing up for hot weather! All the clothes I enjoy are for cold weather!!! Fortunately for me, I live in Canada so it’s cold most of the time, but in summer it gets reaaaally hot and then I don’t know what to do!
In summer in the U.K. it might be like, 5 degrees warmer so we just don't bring a jacket with us and that's pretty much it. Then we worry about whether we should have brought a jacket just in case.
@@juicysatsumabeauty I wish it was the same for me ._. In Canada, specifically where I live, it goes from -20C in winter to 30C (but feels like 38C) in summer. Which means we go from "how many layers is too much layers?" to "what's the best way to get rid of my skin cause I don't have any layers left on me"
@@MarcelaRivestL Is it really still like this with the climate going to shit? I remember the 2011 summer in Berlin being rainy and mostly around ~18 degrees. Now last summer was mostly ~25 with temps up to 40. Crazy to think about it, really..
My current capsule wardrobe is clothes-that-are-not-in-the-wash. And summer clothes are packed away. 😂
YES. THANK YOU. I am also obsessed with color which has made watching virtually every other capsule wardrobe/wardrobe clean- out video out there completely unhelpful. It wouldn't make me remotely happy to live a life of black/white/beige, but of course for those that do, all of their items can be worn with all of their other items.
hahah same - I'm basically making what I need to watch myself 😂
This is why I liked megan ellaby's clearout. It was uploaded awhile back now but I love her style and the colours she wears.
If only a monochrome wardrobe meant that everything was matching! 99.9% of my wardrobe is black. The amount of times I put an outfit together that looked amazing in my mind only to find out that the clothing items’ different shades of black mismatch is so goddamn frustrating! 🙄
@@jadesimone8947 Ooh thanks! I'll go check it out
I think black looks awful with beige, actually. My minimalist wardrobe needs to be cotton-candy pink, lemonade pink, sky blue and palm green for spring and summer; deep red, navy, black, smoky gray and pine green for fall and winter. No beige ever.
I don’t need math to tell me I have too many clothes 😂
very interesting take on the capsule wardrobe! I have been researching the subject and was kind of thrown away because of the amount of beige they suggest... beige is my skin color and I don't appreciate walking around looking naked.
That pop down to tesco outfit is a slant rhyme if I've ever seen one
😂😂😂
I really enjoy working with a seasonal wardrobe, because every few months when I take out my box of clothes it feels like I am shopping. I find items I had forgotten about and then get to wear them again. It also frees up space in my mind, when I don't have to take those items into account every time I look at my shelves/closet.
I am only 4 minutes in, but when calculating the wears, I think seasonality should be taken into account. I have only half of my jumpers available in my closet, because half of them are for winter time. 152 items, if they have to be worn with something else, should give 152/2=76 outfits, 365/76=4,8 or almost 5 times per year :-)
I am 100% not following the maths but I TRUST YOU 😂
@@leenanorms Plus, are they not counting things like socks and pants (underwear) in the 152 items list?
@@kahkah1986 I was thinking the same. 152 appear much less ist if you add maybe ten pairs of socks, a few tights, bras, knickers, etc. Now I'm wondering about shoes, sport clothes etc.
It's common for a capsule wardrobe to be 20 items + 10 winter items, 10 summer items and sportswear/work uniforms etc
you're operating under the assumption that each item of clothing can only be worn with one other item of clothing,
Okay I need to know how you're folding/ tucking the skirts of dresses into trousers because this could be a game changer for me
I am also very confused about this
A lot of those trousers are Lucy and Yaks (Addison style, I think), which have fairly wide waists and hips, so plenty of space for tucking fabric away!
I think about this sort of thing all the time. I wish every item in my wardrobe accumulated stats so I could see how many times I've worn each of them.
Since the start of this year, I actually made a note on my phone with all my items (apart from underwear/tights/socks etc) and I tally when I wear something! Definitely makes me want to shop less and wear some unloved items more. Of course I did not buy everything this year, but I had to start somewhere and it makes me happy to think that if it's already 5 years old, it's probably worn 5 times the number I tally this year and thus worn a lot :)
Yes, we almost need to attach safety pins or something to them not note it?! lol
I've been tracking everything I wear since July 2019 and it's SO VALUABLE. You'll be surprised at how often you wear some things and how infrequently you wear others. It's really helping me cut down my wardrobe! You don't have to write out all your items at first - just add them as you go and track the wears. I also track whether it has hit 30 wears and £1 per wear, because I'm a nerd. It's about to be March and March 1st would be an excellent time to start doing that, just saying!!
@@AmyMarks yeah you could definitely add it as you wear it- I like seeing everything listed, because otherwise it would be a short list haha. Now I can see what has no tally/number behind it and wear that instead of my already well-worn items. Just whatever your preference is IMO!
@@0ROX0ful Mine are all listed now because I've got a spreadsheet of absolutely everything I own - again, total nerd - but I always like to add the 'you don't have to list everything first!!' point because it is SO overwhelming for a lot of people to catalogue their wardrobe like that - I don't want to scare them off! 😂
The Stitchess here on UA-cam has really informative videos on figuring out your personal wardrobe essentials/basics and planning your wardrobe + other interesting (sustainable) fashion content. I found her videos super helpful because they actually focus on building a wardrobe that works for your needs and style instead of telling you 'these are the items you should have' :))
LOVED this video. I'm obsessed with capsule wardrobes but am so sick of the same white t-shirt + mom jeans + beige trench coat UA-cam cliche. This was perfect, thank you.
Same I only occasionally wear such outfits I love PRINTS and colours!!!
I love 'shopping in my wardrobe' and putting together items that I've never worn together. Can't wait for the weather to be warmer I've got loads of summer outfits I want to wear
Some of these pieces may not be me ...but they are definitely YOU and THAT integrity shone through more than anything, which also left an awesome uplifted impression. This taught me how to actually do a more realistic capsule. Thank you- - very inspiring!!
Leena on maths "you get it." Me with dyscalculia, "no, no I really don't, send help!"
Your wardrobe is so exciting! I really need to clear out my wardrobe and get some stuff I actually love (and that fits)
I mean the maths was purely performative, I'm sure I'll be corrected/scolded in the commenst soon 😂😂😂 Glad you liked it x
yeah idk how much relevant math(s? english is my 2nd language so w/e) can be done when you dont have a good idea how many things go with other things. like yeah you can ballpark it as it was attempted here but ... not to shade u lol but idk how useful that would be to anyone. excluding people who really have a Uniform or strict rules of what goes with what. also I have multiples of one (so identical copies of an item - leggings). do you count that in the math(s)? 😀
so hereis my view as amaths student ofwhat Lena's idea was:
one bottom and one top are an outfit. it doesn't matter if you choose the top first or the bottom first.
each piece goes with two more pieces so if you have 152 pieces, and each of them goes with two more pieces, she says that would be152 options for first piece and 2 for second piece. but since blue skirt with yellow shirt is the same outfit as yellow shirt with blueskirt, you counted that combination twice, so we have to divide by half. since we counted every outfit twice
ofc it is not that simple irl you will have some pieces that are an outift on their own (for example a summer dress) and some that goes with ten pieces and some that goes with only two
@Scarlet Baxter yes, this was definitely a simplistic view of it.
here is my example: i have 1 black pants, one blue-gray, three brown, one of the is gray-brown. i have ten t-shirts, 9 of them go with the black pants, so that is 9 combos, two of them go with blue pants, so 11 combos, all of them go with brown pants, so 21 combo. then i have three skirts they all go with 8 t-shirts, so that is 24 combos.
and this is not even counting tights, dresses nor leggings. also i did not count pullovers or cardigans. and without that i already have 21+24 = 45 combinations for one or two seasons. one season is approximately 90 days, so if i wear every of 45 combos twice i am covered for 45 days. with 3 pants, 10 t-shirts, and 3 skirts.
I mean in the end, bottomline, i think that the message is (at least the point that i gathered) that we don't need that much clothes to begin with. i personally know i will not buy anything but outerwear or underwear for the next five yers - unless i gain over 10 inches in my circumference
Since started the challenge to make my own clothing this year this was a really helpful video. My mom actually called me out last night and asked “do you make any neutrals?” And all I have as an answer are jeans and a denim jacket. But at the end of the day I just want to make stuff that makes me happy. And if that mixes well with my current clothing that’s what matter.
Usually I do a three outfit rule. If I can’t imagine something in three separate outfits/occasions then I won’t make it/buy it
You are not alone with bottom neutrals tho😸 I have crazy rainbow 🌈 and tie dye tops and shits. My only neutrals are my jeans dark light wash and some khaki cord overalls. It works for me just fine. I want colors in my face and don't give a damn about my legs 🙃
Ool
i always feel inspired/empowered to make changes in my life when i watch your videos. i’m very much a “jeans and tshirt” kinda person, largely down to being a larger lady stuck in that mid-20s-body-hating mindset and i am also an extreme hoarder when it comes to old clothes (especially ones that don’t fit any more but “maybe they will if i lose weight!!!” yes that sort of toxic mindset). tl;dr- i think it’s about time i reopened my depop account and spent the weekend filtering and saying goodbye to past loves. small steps to a more sustainable future, and maybe i’ll find a way to inspire myself to be braver with items i already own
Leena you're one of the smartest and interesting creators on UA-cam right now, really loving your videos and also your recent growth on the channel! X
Aw thank you BLUSHES
I wish I didn't run so warm cause I couldn't do that "shirt over dress, pants over dress" thing without dying of heat stroke
pleeeeeeeeeeease film that declutter when you have your reckoning!! I love you and I love declutters and I wanna watch it!!!!
You mentioned Tiffany Ferguson's video, which mentions Haute LeMode's videos, which is referencing other videos. I love this phenomenon! It really organically advances a conversation and brings forward a variety of voices and opinions. Great video!
when you were trying on the outfits i was like "omg leena looks so good in that... and that... and that... and that too" and came to the conclusion that you look great in everything
I'm playing with the idea of re-embracing the 4-7-year old me that used to pair different flower patterns together (20 years before it was trendy to do so!). Your wardrobe and unapologetic love of color and pattern is so inspiring! Love this. Also would love to see that hot-weather follow-up!
I used to have a very colourful 50 item wardrobe ( including 9 shoes...) And still found it was too much. I'm currently changing size so hopefully when I settle on a size I will thrift a 25 piece pink and purple wardrobe of amazing perfect for me clothes!
I'm from Brazil, and it's so interesting to see your wardrobe, how the climate and culture differences affect what we wear! And I just got a new wardrobe that is smaller than my last one, this video gave me inspiration to go through all my clothes this weekend and select the ones I really want and donate the rest. Cheers!
I lost a fair portion of my clothes after a break up so have had to start relatively from scratch this year. Realising now that I probably do only have a capsule size wardrobe but that works great for me! Love having my few staples that I go back to over and over!
yes! a capsule wardrobe for the lovers of color and bold patterns. Today is really grey where I am so extra thank you for this!
i like how you corrected "less" to "fewer" in the captions. that was cute and I would probably do the same lolol
This was such a fun video! There's one thing that it seems no one talks about and that is having a capsule or small wardrobe. Not having a washer/dryer in-house. We'd have to go to the laundromat frequently if we wanted to have fewer clothes. And because we don't want to make the trip often to the laundromat we have a good amount of items, which by the end of a month we have worn all of. Especially socks. To want to look good, want to pare down, but not have a way of washing your clothes yourself on demand is a struggle.
Love the colourful capsule!! Also, as a dancer (well, was...! 🙄) - if a skirt's not got the twirl factor, it does not deserve my body! 👎😆
I think it's easy to put a colorful wardrobe together if the colors are similar in some respect. For you, your colors are mostly quite saturated with a few darker tones, nothing pastel or grayish, so they play together nicely. It's also possible to do along other dimensions, for instance a monochrome collection that was all different shades of blue would look sweet, or a complementary scheme that was all purples and yellows... or something based on primaries (yellow, red, blue)... basically, color theory is the answer. It can be done!
Living in a small space the items that take up most place in my wardrobe are outerwear and seasonal clothing and taking that into account in a capsule wardrobe makes it a lot tougher
THIS IS THE CONTENT I NEED. Please make 1 million more fashion videos I love your approach so much. So much.
Leena, I really enjoyed watching this as someone who is allergic to neutrals! Your outfits really cheered me up, and you've inspired me to do something similar - currently trying to wear everything in my wardrobe at least once, to really separate what I love from what I don't. Love love love this video!
This is like a version of "shop your stash" that i'm interested in doing, where you pull out something you already own (I was thinking of makeup, so an eyeshadow palette springs to mind) and conciously give it some use over a period of time instead of getting something new. Could be a pair of jeans that you keep out and wear a few times over the fortnight to give them some love rather than a whole wardrobe challenge. While hunting you might find some things to pass on to the charity shops if they aren't exciting without needing to actually declutter everything at once.
There are so few people who are as passionate about colour and as disdainful towards neutrals as I am and this just makes me so happy!! I've been thinking about trying a capsule wardrobe as well and I think you've properly convinced me!! Can't wait to see you have more conversations about fashion
Whenever I watch videos about capsule wardrobes I remember that because I moved abroad a while ago and gave away most of my clothes, I do have a capsule wardrobe. And it's definitely colorful.
Yes girl! This is literally been my side mission since fall of 2018. You can't take my color! You can't take my patterns! But I also can acknowledge that I had too my things in my wardrobe, even if I am the kind of person who experiments a lot.
Also I think even when I was starting out, I didn't have a single item besides 1 pair of regular wash jeans that that would normally go in a capsule wardrobe.
Thank you so much for making this. People who speak up for this kind of wardrobe are like little lighthouses encouraging me to get back to the shore.
I was sure I'd be in love with your wardrobe but I ended up falling in love with your personality as well. you seem to be such a lovely human being. Keep on shining in all the colours of the rainbow 🌈🥰
On my year abroad at uni, I had a capsule wardrobe as I didn't want to cart more than one suitcase over with me, and I remember being really happy with what I had and getting rid of a couple of bits that I realised I didn't wear! Lately I've been channeling my feelings into buying sh*t I don't need but you've excited me to challenge myself and enjoy what I have!
I was really glad to find this video while trying to look into capsule wardrobes/more sustainable wardrobes. you're right that so many of them look soo boring and do not appeal to me
You are like a breath of fresh air! The amount of conscious decisions and your whole thought process is just so like a summer breeze! I’ve been struggling to find UA-cam channels that weren’t just bland, mundane conversations about purchases that everyone else has already made. Your whole being has so much heart and soul! Totally love your videos! 💕
The gung-ho dress with the green trousers is a gorgeous outfit!
The seasonal aspect of capsule wardrobes is the only thing I've really kept because I moved a lot and travelled with a 10kg rucksack for a while so I just don't own that many clothes, but putting some of the more summery stuff away in the winter and vis versa in the summer has been really great for that not getting bored with my clothes feeling. When I bring them out again I'm so excited to be reunited! Plus I had a tenancy to wear my clothes to threads and putting them away helps them last longer causs I'm not abusing them so much
I just went down a minimalism youtube hole so i needed this
This video has brought me so much JOY! 😍🌈 Was sat watching in my turquoise and pink flowered Lucy and Yak boilersuit...just...nodding constantly! 🤣 Rainbow basics REPRESENT! 🥳🌈

I loved this. I have never done a capsle wardrobe because all of the videos had such BORING clothes. Everything I own has patterns and bright colors. The capusle wardrobe videos were the opposite of that. I don't own traditional staple pieces because I know I'd never wear it. Leopard print is absolutely a base print.
Aaaah, not even at half of the video but I needed to stop and tell you that I love love love your make up (especially the yellow shadow with the wing liner) * chef kiss *
Okay, back to the video now.
One line you said that now defines capsule wardrobe for me: old loves and a few things that renew interest in my old loves.
I love this so much. It took me a year studying styling systems [Kibbe and Seasonal Color] so I could arrive at the same conclusion of this video: A capsule wardroble doesn't need to be all beiges and white t-shirts that make me look like a corpse [warm/olive skintone lol]. Now my wardrobe is basically 50% black and 50% dark rose color pallette meets 70s color pallette [plus a bit of purple and blue] in my favorite pieces: Form fitting/flared pants, romantic tops and cardigans, and I never been happier with my clothing, like, literally in my entire life. Personally I love color coordinating so a multicolored wardrobe like Leena's is def not for me but I love how she knows what she likes. Capsule wardrobes should be exactly that: Everything you love the most, destilled.
Leena, I'm sure you won't see this because you get so many comments but hopefully you will since this wasn't posted too long ago! I have been binge watching your videos every day for the last week and I just wanted to say that your videos have changed my life. I know you mentioned in the 40 before 40 video that you wanted to mentor a child by being permanently in their life and I totally feel like I have been mentored my you - so thank you so much for doing what you do! Also, I totally loved the video because in the last year or two I have gone from always wearing black, blue, and grey, to being totally colourful! Love your videos and keep doing what you're doing, I really really appreciate you 💜
Yes!!! I love this.My capsule wardrobe is pink, purple, blue, green ,brown and red (then 1 black outfit for concerts) but somehow it all works ,and fits my ever changing style.
I've been feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of clothes I have and the lack of desire to wear any of it. I think a seasonal capsule wardrobe, as you've presented it here, is a great solution! Living in the American Midwest where the winters are freezing and the summers are scorching, having one consistent wardrobe just wouldn't suit my needs. If I had a wardrobe for winter and a wardrobe for summer, mixing and matching between them for fall and spring, and stow one wardrobe away when the weather is wrong for it... Well that would just about solve it!
Yessss this is what I’ve been wanting to see! Loved this video!
loved this!
WOW the dungarees at 9:00 are NICE
lovely video. Love your style. I don't think you're the type of person who really needs a capsule wardrobe because you are so creative and have a sense for building outfits. I guess the people who build capsule wardrobes do so because they feel like they want to look effortlessly put together, and want curated pieces that make them feel that way. They aren't as creative in that department.
wow, I never knew my wardrobe was actually a capsule wardrobe.... :p
ok that stripey skirt is sooo cute! I love it. I'd buy it off you
Wonderful. I looked up “non-beige capsule wardrobe after looking for ages using different ways. When sorting by upload date, I found you! You are wonderful! It’s so true, minimalism is NOT a style or should not be! I wish these people wearing all beige with blank walls behind them understood that
i ve been looking for this for sooo looong. colorful capsule wardrobe yes ! it's like color doesn t exists in a minimalistic world.
Ooh, I love it! I've thought about doing a capsule wardrobe, but I can't get past how austere and businesslike they tend to be. I love black and gray and am gaining an appreciation for soft white and oatmeal, but unless I'm going for an all-out goth look I need to accent that with fun colors and funky cuts!
I don't know how well it'd go for me as my wardrobe has a large costume presence and I live in a climate with multiple seasons per week. It'd be a fun experiment.
8:33 you look AMAZING in the black scrunchy and ruffle blouse. Get it in all the colors.
this montage is absolutely everything
I LOVE a good capsule. The most important thing is that it captures you.
I'm obsessed with you and you ARE my wardrobe inspiration 😭
I love this idea. I mean it kind of makes sense. If you're only allowing yourself a few items (be it clothes, furniture, whatever), you want to get the "biggest bang for your buck". If you only have 30 clothing items, why not have every one make a statement?
Absolutely love your sense of fashion
I LOVE your style and your capsule! I do a seasonal capsule...rotate out every three months (mostly a weather necessity) and the amount of searching I've done to try and find other examples of capsules that are colourful and printed...yeesh! Also, I feel like most other capusles I've seen do not include nearly enough jumpsuits and dresses for my liking hehe
Love you already the minute I start your video 🥰
Its so personal what is basics for each person. Loved this video!
i loved this! your videos always make me more thoughtful of how i live my life. def going to put more thought into my clothes. thank you for the closed captions by the way 💜🥰
You made me giggle more than once - thanks for the joy, Leena!
Finally!!! Colour, sustainability and minimalism combined 🤩
You’re literally my favourite UA-camr, I just feel so joyful and cheery watching your vids so thank you 🖤
I love this! I also love love patterns and hate the minimalist aesthetic lol. I have a semi-capsule wardrobe myself and I never really have vibed with the whole "only beige, white, black, and grey" look
you’re bangs look so good!
I so enjoyed this video! Thank you!
this is the first video I've watched of yours and I absolutely loved it!!! you're so cool
leena you’re a whole angel!
I'm SO excited about this video. I loved the lies about clothes to unlearn video and it's so true, I want to love and use all the clothes I own but I refuse to reduce my color palette to black, beige and grey. Life's too short. I managed to find a color palette I really like and pinpoint why I like certain outfits so I can find items I'll wear a lot. I love your videos leena, thank you for the wisdoms, I love your vibes!
I have such identity issues when it comes to clothes so despite always wanting a more curated and sustainable closet, I'm never sure what I actually like versus what is marketed to me online. this leads to me never buying clothes or buying clothes and not wearing them when the trends get the best of me. Also, I have body dysmorphic issues which don't help with purchasing clothes in the right size and just knowing what I look like in clothes. Im really glad you make these kinds of videos though, they make me feel more validated in my confused minimalist aspirations!
This is the video about minimalism that I never knew I wanted but so desperately needed 🙏
This is my second video I've watched of you, and I ABSOLUTELY love your style and personality. Every time I've seen capsule waredrobes they've lacked color, so I've never been interested. Love how you pulled it off, and ngl imma look at my wardrobe and try it for spring
