Metallica- The Four Horsemen 1983 Live at The Metro

- ....kind of! Such a great gig but the lack of audio in the beginning was really dissapointing for me, especially with this track. I dubbed the audio from another 83 SBD gig and tried my best to sync everything. I'm not sure why they didn't do that, a high dollar techie could do a way better job than a slob like me! Someone already did the same for Hit The Lights from this show, seemed like a good idea.👌
Obviously I don't own the audio or video, Metallica does. But I figured i'd put it up there for the fans.🤘 Merry Christmas!
PS: Sorry for the lack of vids lately, been super busy with work and jamming. I'll get my ass in gear in the new year...cheers!
This was a silent video that I synced up with audio from the Chicago 1983 gig, not perfect but more fun to watch than a silent performance!
Thank you 🤘🏼
great job man
This is synched so well, its a blessing, thanksssss
good work, man. Thank u
story who? my dad also there. blah blah blah.
My dad was there and he told me it was the happiest day of his life
Sweet! Lucky guy!
Oof
Your dad is so lucky he got to watch them play the whole song
With the amount of genius riffs and eargasms the group did, fuck yeah!
weird thing to say to your kid
Sound tech: so James how much reverb would you like?
James Hetfield: yes
I think he rather said : YEEEAAAHHH
delay*
Wait didnt james and cliff didnt like reverb back in the day
DanTheArk Well their first two albums utilized Reverb so I would say no. They stopped using Reverb in Master Of Puppets when Flemming told them it would make its sound farther and less heavier.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Kirk and James with those Flying V's is just a sight to see
I thought Dave was still with them at this point but I can tell that's Kirk ?
Kirito /kirigaya didnt Dave leave (or fired) before the album released?
@@jahdielm3208 They fired Dave right before the album came out hence giving them the time to change the lyrics of The Four Horsemen.
@@fedora997 didn't Dave write the four horsemen but changed the lyrics to mechanix's
My Dog Probably Has Down Syndrome dave wrote mechanix which came before the fourhorsemen. And when he left james changed the lyrics and made it little slower
Imagine being there and kirk is playing a guitar solo right in your face
Then imagine the guys beside you took it right out of his mits
bruh can't imagine
@@royalmarine1011 would take a lot of balls to snag Kirk's guitar mid solo... better be ready to take about 100 punches from security, fans, and probably Kirk himself. 😂
But not Dave. :(
please, never remove this from UA-cam
I won't! Sometimes they remove videos if there's a copyright issue, hopefully not!
@@orokusaki8291
I sometimes see people randomly remove videos for absolutely no apparent reason whatsoever, that sucks.
I think I'll save this video just in case.
This ,right here, is history. We will never see full song again.A true concentration of thrash , headbanging , and Kirk's legendary hair.
@@empty_set_ Can't agree more. The live full version is extremely rare, especially the old days one and the 'lynyrd skynyrd - sweet alabama' part in the middle...
From 3:25 for a single long minute ...the legendary riff of The Four Horsemen rarely often played , probably one of the best parts of this Master's piece ....long live MetallicA
Agreed....I do not why they skip this part live
Why do they skip this part best part of the song
The Sweet Home Alabama riff?
@@ThePinkfloydd so funny Dave started playing it when they were making it and Lars had no idea it was sweet home Alabama
@@ThePinkfloydd I think Dave M. was inspired by the intro to Sweet Home Alabama because Cliff was fascinated by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I would slaughter an entire village to see a reincarnation of this Metallica live again!
or just watch yt......

Kill the entire village, kill "em all.
Who said you could slaughter a village?
This young and funny James always makes me smile. A goofy kid who's up to become one of the biggest rock legends to ever live.
It's strange to believe they had no idea back then how big they would become.
Hetfield once upon a time said that he had big bands posters in his room and told everybody then that he would be like that someday.... everybody laughed at him. I guess that he always wanted to have this gigantic band by the name of Metallica.
James was like 17?
@@lauraopre-shearer7455 19/20 years old.
@@lauraopre-shearer7455 I think he was past 18, closer to 19 here. A kid, by any means.
Cliff is just head banging his heart out. CLIFF EM ALL!!!
Hahah I love it! Just imagine if cliff hadn’t passed away. He probably would’ve been 5-6 neck surgeries deep with all kinds of cartilage damage by now. I’m not saying that they’re bad or anything. But Metallica was just a very different band when cliff was inputting his influence. It had a meaner nastier edge to it. A certain “punch” if you will.
Love ❤️ cliff 😊
Someone should sign these guys they will be big one day
I know right! They look like they'll make 3 or 4 good albums.
The sarcasm 🤟🏼

I think this is hard rock band Metallica back from the 80s
And hey Maybe one of there albums will go platinum
2:59 cliff second voice amazing
Nicole Solis miss him so much.
I don't think I've ever heard Cliff's vocals. I pictured his voice deeper. Sounds awesome!
@@sstrick500 watch Metal Hammer festival 1985 and Denmark 1986. His backing vocals there sound much more clearer and deeper
What the hell are you guys hearing
People say jason was greatest back vocal for Metallica. That's true But believe me if u listen carefully Cliff had phenomenal fat heavy deep back vocal .
Only on this performance they played Sweet home Alabama part. After 1983 they played it without that part 🤘🏻🤘🏻
You're right! I always liked when they played the full song.
I love that part and the solo. It was wrote by Mustaine so I think that's the reason they don't play that part, maybe it's a royalties thing idk.
Humberto Pavón no this solo was the only one fully written by Kirk, mustaine wouldn’t put too much melody in a solo
Only that they did actually play it again...
@@Randomeris1 When?Any video on youtube?
These young men need to think of their futures, this rock stuff isn't gonna last forever. Maybe enroll in college or join the military.
Thank the Metal Gods that didn't happen!
zudemaster Nah, I think these guys just might make it big some day!!👍
zudemaster lmfao
I BEG TO DIFFER! I'm 49 and have been into rock/metal since 1978 (thanks to a band called KISS)! Yes, I DID go to college. Went to the, UNFORTUNATELY NOW-DEFUNCT, Art Institute of Seattle, and majored in music and film/video production.
You know that cliff guy cool af,me and my dad going to watch him and his metallica dude at 1986 or maybe 1987

Well, your grammar is bad. Also, you didn't spell, "misspelled", correctly. So, I wouldn't be talking if I were you.
This band was a hell of a lot wilder and cooler when Cliff was alive
Dean Smith or maybe just the fact that they were younger
Vellu the bands soul died with Cliff
Quinn Minnehan yes but still they have played their best gigs after cliffs death
Dean Smith do you even seattle 89 bro

This is what metal is supposed to be - people with talent and passion making real music.
Well thanks Dave Mustaine for writing the song.

I dont think people appreciate enough, how immensely talented James was lol And is.
3:26 In the end that riff 🙏
home sweet alabama....
one of the only live recordings of them playing it. My favorite kirk solo too
Definition of an eargasm: THIS is the best definition with these absolutely riffs.
Cliff Burton:
Was way ahead of his time.
Was the, by far, the most talented musician/song writer in Metallica history.
Was THE EPITOME of a Metal head!
Was the greatest head banger of all time.
Was, arguably, the greatest Bassist in Heavy Metal history.
Was why Metallica became so successful.
Is loved and missed by millions of people.
Bit of an exaggeration but yes!
Nonsense. James is. He's a got writing credits on almost every song, even in their so-called golden age of MOP. James is the main song writer and creative force behind that band: past, present, and future. It's a fact that is well documented in books and interviews, even by Cliff himself. John Entwistle was doing the same stuff Cliff was doing at least a decade before Cliff did. The one song Cliff contributed the most was Orion but even that song was co-written by James. You're deifying Cliff to ahistorical prominence because he died in such a tragic way.
I don't think that Cliff Burton was the most talented musician in Metallica history, I think he was the most talented musician in all of thrash history
James's hair looks like a tornado when he head bangs
A tornado of souls?
2:36. Best groove break in all of metal history!!
6:11 James screams!
Holy hell! Did somebody put this footage in a lead box or something??? This is damn good quality considering how old it is.

It’s actually the closest they have to Slayer
bro you literally have audio that Metallica themselves don't have
This audio was actually taken from live at the metro version. Watch carefully and you'll realize that in some parts James doesn't sing the same way as in the audio. Specially the ending part.
So much energy from James. Age definitely takes a toll on you.
Best of the best from Metallica, my favourite Metallica song!!
With the extra contribution from Master Mustaine!
It is fuckin insane how on point this was compared to the original studio version. They’re the greatest band of all fucking time

Kirk: you said wah? 😈😈😈
Who else miss the old Metallica when they were energetic and hated hair metal and glam metal
Who Put You On This Planet Huh
well i mean they’re old now lmao
They were a welcome breath of fresh air back then and brought the punk/hardcore aesthetic back into metal that got lost after the NWOBHM peaked a few years before. Big hair pretty boy posing and vying for a saccharine radio friendly sound was killing metal but ..then came thrash.
Time truly changes everything

James Hetfield is funny as hell when he is drunk, lol.
My all time favourite thrash metal song. Great sync man, thank you!
How he could be so talented and powerful at that age???? He wasn't a normal boy , James was absolutely a prodigy and not a common person
So glad videos like this exist lol. I'm in the process of learning this song and I'm about 80% or so through the first solo. Watching young Kirk I can verify that I'm playing it correctly up until the last phrase of where I am. I'm one of those "play it the way it's played" guys and no two people on UA-cam play it the same way as far as I can find so I'd rather just watch Kirk lol
Keep up that passion, my friend. I'm a metalhead fan and pay to see great shows live. Wish I could time travel to this show in '83. 🤘

James is wonderful in these times. Pure young anger and energy
That double pedal
Thank you Dave for such an amazing song
daves version of it sucks,in fact its a blessing he was booted out.
goof is still butthurt over it.his ego was greater than his talent and that is what pains him to this day.it was for the good of the band, not a personal attack on his Napoleon Syndrome.
Dave was/is a whiny bitch and his leads are frantic and incoherent.always were with Metallica.he did "co-write" some classic tracks by contributing riff ideas but, ultimately he started megadeth and built around his own style.too bad he spent most of his days angry that Metallica were so much better without him that he didnt realize he had his own fans with megameth. To this day the guy is still trying to ride the coattails of Metallica.most of the people that bring up Dave whilst talking Metallica werent even around in the early 80s and most of the people that were never even heard of either. you dont see any other early Metallica members pulling that jive.
It was an awesome concert the beginning of it all.LEGENDARY

lmao James with an SS skull shirt... I wonder if he knew what that skull means XD
Mmmm.... actually the totenkofp is a military simbol that comes from the middle age. It is older than national socialism. I know that it was used by the SS but they didnt invent it
Like every human has a skull that means everybody is a Nazi
The “SS skull” had the mandible, the one on his shirt doesn’t - so it’s not the SS design. It doesn’t belong to Nazi’s either, pirates used the skull symbol to show they don’t fear death, they bring it.
