    "Scott, HIS NAME IS SCOTT!!" A great line from Dillon that encapsulates both the season and the team dynamics. Dillon doesn't even get along with Scott very well, but when there's a good chance he might be killed, Dillon isn't going to let Dr. K treat him like a piece of replaceable equipment

      Yeah, also I do think they should’ve had another team episode with Scott and Dillion to make them at least mutual friends

    I've watched RPM about 4 times and the biggest thing that keeps me coming back is Dillon and Ziggy being total bros. Seeing them watch each others backs throughout the show just makes me really happy and want to see more.

    The truth is RPM was good because it was the one in which the Disney HQ was the less interested in, it was created on the sole purpose of honoring the Bandai toy deals, so the writers and showrunners had more freedom, the fact is Disney did not make this season good

      No offense but “the studio isn’t the reason why it was good” can be said about anything that is produced by a studio and is great because there is no such thing as a product that is first and foremost a studio product that is great.

    It would've been better if Dylan thought that he had a missing younger brother, further explaining him always looking out for Ziggy. But then they could've swerved everyone and reveal that he was mistaken and actually had a missing sister, then do the reveal of who she is

    • @lethalassassin1754
      @lethalassassin1754 6 років тому +25

      Chiko was here That would have worked better. There really wasnt a reason for him to look out for ziggy he could have dumped him off in the wastes, he didnt seem caring or compassionate when hes first introduced. But in the end the season is definitely the top few greatest seasons of all time and it did more than we ever hoped for in a show for kids.

    • @gengardiego9430
      @gengardiego9430 6 років тому +16

      that definitely could have worked better. venjix lost control of dylan but was still capable of using him since it was shown that he planted false memories in dylan. mistaking a brother for a sister could have been worked in as an unintended side effect of the false memories

      I think it be cooler if it turns out Tenaya 7 is Dylan's daughter instead of sister. There can be a plot line where an effect of Venjix virus effect is rejuvenation, which explain why Dylan is young. Despite been over 40 years old

  • @ayumideck
    @ayumideck 6 років тому +130

    Another thing i've noticed throughout the early episodes in regards to Tenaya and Dillon, was that Tenaya always had her vizor on coincidentally when facing against Dillon in and out of ranger form, prior to finding out that they were related. Dillon was the only Ranger who hasn't seen Tenaya's face for most of the season. That likely, and inadvertently lent itself to the long lost sister connection to be written after Eddie Guzelian got fired.
    PS. There's a movie called Blood Punch that stars about half of the RPM cast, and is produced/aided by the other half. It's even written by Eddie Guzelian, haha. But it's rated "R" so, keep that in mind. ^ ^;

    • @TheDisneyBrain
      @TheDisneyBrain  6 років тому +17

      I actually watched the trailer for that movie after going through RPM for the first time years ago. It looked a little too horror genre for me so I ended up not watching it, but I might someday, if only to see what Milo and the others can do without the morphers on.

    • @AznPhoenix95
      @AznPhoenix95 6 років тому +1

      I don't like horror movies at all, but I did like Blood Punch. It's just bloody, rather than an actual horror/thriller I think. The plots interesting, the chemistry between the cast is great (no surprise there) and the ending isn't actually predictable, so that's always a plus. I'd say give it a shot.

    • @pasunurusaivineeth3739
      @pasunurusaivineeth3739 3 роки тому +4

      I just completed watching the series today for the first time. As I think about it, Eddie might've wanted us to falsely believe Tenaya is Dillon's missing sister when she first appeared. He planted everything carefully to let us assume that to be obvious (she retreating once her visor started to crack and just the both having regular duels). That would have been such a crazy plot-twist if it is finally revealed she isn't his sister.
      I also don't understand how everyone assumed the Venjix is eliminated as soon as his bodily form is destroyed. He is a virus and I thought he would still live. And nobody cared to visit the palace to confirm Venjix and every single one of his army is defeated.

    • @peteryang8991
      @peteryang8991 4 роки тому +6

      The people that own Saba are well known to be jerks. They got lucky spin off from an established Japanese series, where the US team need to do very little, all the power rangers footage after morphin are taken directly out of the Japanese version. I am surprise RPM's budget is high, because despite its better story line that is independent from the Japanese original, the post morphin scene are all from the Japanese version, there are no additional post morphin footage.

    I want to thank you. I never realized how adult power rangers could be. I just liked the power rangers for the zords, cool costumes, and fights. I was never that concerned with a good story. Now I have a better understanding of a great series. I also have my own power rangers story that I'm writing. P.s. When you do Wild Force, can you talk about that one scene where Max (Had to Google his name) was fighting that one person on the bus. That's my earliest power rangers memory.

      @meep9231 3 роки тому

      Ah man, i also loved the season just because of their costumes, zords, and weapons. But now this makes me love this season because of the characters and how well the creators wrote them.
      Scott: abrasive, and a little harsh but still goes out of his way to make sure he doesn’t lose a member of the team/community
      Summer: naturally perfect but also is capable of understanding the meaning of personal growth
      Flynn: he’s already gifted in what he does but also utilizes his knowledge to help the team
      Ziggy: the underdog that pulls through his own self doubt and does what is right because of his natural self
      Dillion: Disney Brain should have that one covered
      One of the best things this season did was made Venjix a very capable villain of making the Rangers change because of how he adapts constantly and also helps him be more of a threat.

    The rumored original ending was that ALL of Dillon's memories were false. He never had a sister, he never had a family, he was never human and had no past. He was always designed and planned to infiltrate the rangers and become Venjix's final body; the ultimate combination of human and machine that he talked about throughout the show. The final episode would have been Ranger Black and after the Venjix was blown up and Summer made her choice of her guys, Dillon would be sleeper activated and taken over by Venjix, needing the other rangers need to kill him to stop Venjix.
    It would have been dark and I think that maybe they could have rewritten it to save Dillon by appealing to the humanity he developed with them (like a play on the Jarrod/Dai Shi dynamic). But maybe with the dark tone of the show, Dillon can only help the others by destroying himself and Venjix, being a tragic sacrifice and ironic given that the humanity that Venjix wanted lead to his own destruction.
    Maybe, like in the canon ending, it could have been hinted that Venjix was still in the system, but Dillon could still be too. idk.

    Only a few seasons ever addressed why the villains focused so much on a single city. Lightspeed gave a decent reason, it was their home first. In Space, was off world a lot, but Angel Grove was still the preferred target on Earth. Lost Galaxy, like RPM had a single isolated location. Overdrive gave lip service to being globe trotting, although it all tended to look alike.
    I guess you could argue that some of them figured there was no point in attacking elsewhere until the Rangers are defeated. From MMPR through Turbo, the Rangers could teleport anywhere.

I loved that the twins and Dr.K's personalities were consistent with their upbringing so much, that I felt just as impressed (from a character writing perspective) as I was sorry for the immense child abuse they all went through. One scene that stood out to me and cracked me up, was when the twins genuinely believed they were helping Ziggy by giving him lint and buttons to pay-off Fresno Bob. It shows how isolated they were to not even know the value of money, especially after being cooped up in a nefarious think tank thats goals were expensive without a doubt.

    Another great video! Your comment on how it sometimes seems strange that the villains focus on place got me thinking, and I was actually able to come up with some good reasons why it would happen.
    The most obvious reason that came to mind for me was that the villain had something personal to settle with the Rangers or one of their allies, the best example of this probably being Emperor Grumm. His rivalry with Doggy Kruger is so very personal, it makes absolute sense that he would want every victory leading to his conquest of Earth to happen right in front of Kruger so he would be rubbing his rival's face in his success the entire time. Likewise, Lothor and Dai Shi both had scores to settle with either the Rangers or someone on their team, so it again makes sense they would want to deal with that first. In addition, in those cases, the Rangers were the ones who were fated to beat them, so it would make sense to focus all their efforts on eliminating them first.
    Another reason I thought of was simply expediency, that is that for whatever reason the villain didn't have the means to operate on a larger scale, or had a reason to focus on a particular area. Mesogog, for example, was using a human host that he somewhat unpredictably transformed into and out of, and conducting research at the same time. The combination of these, combined with the need to keep his alter ego a secret for as long as possible, made branching out a risky proposition since it would give him less control over his environment as he traveled and would increase the risk of an unexpected transformation blowing his cover. In DinoCharge, it also makes a certain amount of sense that Sledge would focus on a small area because many of the EnerGems had been found there, and because by focusing on the Rangers he could theoretically achieve two goals at once, getting more EnerGems and getting rid of the people who could oppose him. Taking the Gems from the cold hands of defeated Rangers would be easier than searching the world and also would likely appeal to the mentality of a bounty hunter.
    Well, that got longer than I planned, so I better stop myself here. Until next time!

      This post is brilliant! I honestly think I failed to consider a lot of the logic behind not attacking where the Rangers aren't.
      Although the weirdest part for me is with Wild Force, since Orgs are a result of pollution, or so says the season, yet all the Orgs form around the same area. This would make sense, if it was more aligned with where said Orgs died in the great war Merrick partoke in years ago, but WF never implies that to be the case.

      Gaah! It makes so much sense, but will Saban do it??? I'd say there's a better chance of that now versus times past, since Saban seems particularly active in this past year with Rangers doing a lot more and getting exposed a lot more. Maybe, just maybe, that will translate to a less risk averse TV show. But I'm playing things close to the chest until a true to form Beast Morphers trailer drops.
      Side note, every time I say that I'm reminded of Beast Wars(90's Transformers iteration), lol

    People keep complaining how bad the RPM theme song was. My argument? In a franchise that gave us the Operation Overdrive theme, the RPM theme is really inoffensive. It's nothing to write home about, but I wouldn't really say it's particularly bad either.

    You’re right. The Neo-Saban era desperately needs people who actually care. I have no idea what the hell happened the Judd/Chip Lynn. He used to be such a great writer, but now he seems to have completely lost his touch. The other writers don’t seem to be any better. The writing staff needs a massive overhaul, bring back people that care, or maybe bring in some fresh and new writers.

      Funny thing is, that's pretty much what Rangers has done several times over, except not with writers per say, but with their executive producers. I think it made a difference when Ann Austin and Doug Sloan were running things versus John Tzachor's early work, and of course, Bruce Kalish's contributions after that. So I think that's really what's needed, a top down approach where the effect of a good producer trickles down into better writing.

      After RPM, the only thing good from the series is that they managed to find really hot actress to play female rangers LOL. Just watched the entire season (spent my holiday on that - thanks) because of your videos, and i must add a few things:
    *RPM is SO packed with references that it goes beyond other PR seasons: Despite: the whole Dillon-Tenaya arc that is an obvious reference to the Space's Andros-Astronema arc; the relationship between Ziggy and Dr. K, where the GREEN RANGER FALLS IN LOVE WITH THE SPECIALIST THAT DESIGNED THE ENTIRE RANGER GEAR AND AT THE END OF THE SEASON THEY END UP TOGETHER... DOES THIS SOUND A BIT LIGHTSPEED RESCUE-ISH ONLY TO ME?; also the way in which Dillon and Summer's relationship develop that works just as the relationship between Tommy and Kimberly's one did in MMPR; (just to quote a few examples); still, there is also the specific format and light pattern given to Venjix when he's at his tube... Which *kinda* reminds me of HAL from 2001: A Space Oddissey... Which if we stop and think about the season's theme, would be a totally missed opportunity not to put it on the character.
    *Even if they hadn't done that AMAZING arc closing with the final scenes where Dillon waters once again that same flower from episode one, the camera gamblings done in that first scene of him busting those Grinders with the camera sighting just that flower would have already been such an evolution on the series' photography that it would already be more than OK. They simply built such a perfect arc narrative with the flower-watering scenes (let's put it this way) that both "halves" of it work superbly even when separate. Not to mention the scripts... The comedy moments were seriously well done, so as the serious ones... The lines were so well written that the daunts and comebacks of those daunts were shot by the characters at the precise times they would have the best impact... Well, needless to say it further, there was a TRUE evolution here.
    *I just wanted them to develop better the couples. Sorry, i'm a bit of a romantic, could not let myself not to quote this: Even though i think Ziggy and K (my favourite couple of the season - the two outcasts forming the most unlikely pair) were well developed, and that there was a simiar focus on Dillon and Summer; i think that Flynn and Gemma were unfairly casted out. They had such a potential to be developed as a couple, given their strong chemics (to the point she splitted from Gem to be with him (which led Gem to be jealous of him later on - was so funny to watch)), and it was solemnly ignored by the writers. Perhaps this underdevelopment was because the season had just 32 episodes instead of the standard 40 or 41 - hard to tell. But i think there was room for further development in the romancing area. Still, it's not usually a big focus on the franchise, and still they have given us not only one, but TWO solid couples in this season. I'm probably complaining too much here...
    Well, there is not too much more i can think to add. For me, at least, it's a 10/10 season. Conquered me. Broke the grudge i had against the post-Disney era seasons. :)

    This was a fantastic journey of a review that I was glad to see from beginning to end. RPM was a indeed, a great series for every reason you said and a few you didn't have the time to.
    One thing I would point out about what you said concerning "attacking where the Ranger's aren't"I can't speak for many seasons after the Zordon Era however I always assumed teleportation was just a bonus trait for having one's physiology tied into the morphing grid. And just because a team didn't teleport it didn't mean that COULDN'T teleport. I.E. it made no sense for Rita to attack France since the Rangers could just teleport there. In fact attacking the home city makes MORE sense because now, the only fighting force with the ability to defeat you now has to walk on eggshells to protect people, and places that are directly significant to them.
    Also, with regards to continuously attacking the Rangers to the exclusion of everything else. It does make a certain amount of sense to eliminate the ONLY fighting force with the skills, resources, and knowledge to defeat you; if you can take out them, the rest of the world is easy pickings.
    This is something Time Force, Wild Force, Dino Thunder and Dino Charge handled beautifully. Ransick and Master Oorg had VERY finite resources at their disposal. In Dino Charge's case it only made sense to repeated attack the Ranges because THEY had the Energems that everyone was after. One could even argue in the case of Jungle Fury that is was some part of Jared agreeing with Dai Shi that wanted nothing more than to destroy his rival (Casey). And much like Dino Charge, Mesogog wanted the Dino Gems. Though I will admit, it was never answered or handled better than in R.P.M. Heck this even makes sense for Trakina give that she is out for revenge for her father.
    I admit this this logic falls flat with series like Zeo, Lightspeed Rescue, Samurai, and Megaforce. because all those series feature massive armies, and large armadas that could easily overwhelm 6 Rangers. But that is precisely WHY Countdown to destruction is so iconic and even chilling to this day. because it WAS a massive invasion on literally every front that overwhelmed Rangers past and present.
    Though even for those large-scale forces it does make at least some sense. Large empires (particularly evil aligned ones) are likely facing battle on multiple fronts. It makes some sense to assume that if say the Machine Empire were to pull forces away that maybe...Master Vile, Divatox, or hell the Triforians, or KO-35 freedom fighters could have taken some territory away from him.
    Again I'm just playing the card of "just because we don't SEE it, doesn't mean it isn't or can't be happening" Having made my case in such a massive digression I again this RPM handled it better than almost any season before or since.

    People say that power rangers rpm was the darkest kids' media released in 2009, well, I'd beg to differ. There was this stop-motion animated movie based on a novel of the same name, written and directed by Henry Selik, that was released about a month before rpm aired, called "Coraline". It made BUTTONS of all things look darker compared to a sentient computer virus that ended trillions of lives.

    Holy shit is this series indicative of the quality of Power Rangers and how the series has evolved over time? It's gotta be my second favorite only behind In Space.

      From where I'm standing, Rangers hasn't made a season even close to this good after RPM finished it's run. However, the season right behind it(Jungle Fury) is another exceptional one. But not a ton of people got to experience just how great it was since Overdrive was panned by the fans, thus doing a lot of damage to the franchise. The irony being that they got their rears in gear(pun intended) after that debacle and Disney ended up making two great seasons. But then Saban bought the rights back and... yeah, I'll just stop there :)

    While I applaud rpm for its characters, my biggest criticism of rpm is the rangerness/ lore of the show if you get my meaning. I still like the plot and how the characters were utilized. Still, I can’t help think how the show would be if they utilized certain elements they introduced. Ranger technology for instance was developed for the military. Red: burst of speed; blue: 10-second time freeze; yellow, blast of energy; green, teleportation; black, invincibility shield. It would’ve been interesting to see missions were they utilized these abilities like a special forces team would. The gold and silver rangers could’ve been presented as the reasoning for why the rangers stayed and protected the city. If the extra rangers were highly skilled and specialized fighters, it would make sense for them to go out in missions taking out key elements in venjix’s operation, sabotage, infiltration, and intelligence gathering. As well as other things I wish I could have seen, I still love rpm as a season.

We have Dino Charge, a dinosaur themed series much like seasons 1 and 2 of MMPR (thunderzords notwithstanding)...followed by Ninja Steel, which is Ninja themed (like MMPR season 3). NOW we're looking at go-busters...which was vehicle themed...(Turbo anyone), and after that there's talk of a SPACE themed series!! Am I the only one who sees this cycle repeating?

They remember each other as siblings, but that doesn't mean much in a situation where they've both had their minds reprogrammed multiple times.
    Nor the fact that at the end of it all, Tenaya's eyes are still... uncertain. Dr K says she has no idea how long they'll last, which means Tenaya is still suffering from Venjix cruelty.

    The biggest giveaway to Tenaya was that whenever she fought Dillon, she always wore to visor and he was the only Ranger not involved with the American Idol tryouts. He never saw her face prior to the reveal and so it didn't work as a surprise.

    GREAT REVIEW - all three parts. I need to add something.
    - My theory is that Venjix is "sleeping" until someone will use red RPM morpher again.
    - Not only Rose (Summer) and Eka (Scott) are doing career now but also Adelaine (Tenaya).
    - Fun fact: actors who played Ziggy and Doctor K were married for some after the show ended.
    - I recommend to see you unofficial RPM theme (it's so much better), maybe it was too dark for Disney and it's kinda giving me this Time Force and Lightspeed Rescue vibe.
    - RPM along with Time Force are my fav Power Rangers seasons.
    - If I had to make top 5 rangers list for each colour I think that all or almost all RPM would be there - this is how good those characters and acting were.
    - It would be awesome if Beast Morphers would decide to continue RPM - maybe Hasbro has bigger balls than Saban and Disney. All tho I doubt that they will get at least half of old cast (maybe some quick cameo) because as I mentioned some of their actors are pretty popular now and getting paid much better than then. Also they could hire this old RPM showrunner and this time give him "free hand" with everything.
    - Also it's funny how PR took inspiration from SS and later SS took inspiration from PR and now it's look like PR will take inspiration from SS but it's kinda all one big season. :D

      The Disney Brain We all want a quality season that honors the past. They have the power to do it. If they will or not at this point is only fan speculation. All I can say is if they don't Saban needs to give up the franchise because that's just too much of a tease to the fans to not do what they want. I don't want to be pandered too but also I can't stand by a season that's primed to connect to another season (honestly more so than any other season). But Saban is cheap. Look at super megaforce and how many actors were invited to appear and then never talked to again cause they didn't want to spend the money to fly them all out. Even if it doesn't connect to any other season I hope Saban does what it did with it's first era and grows up with this new audience. I know power rangers is a kid show but so was avatar and all the shows in the DCAU and they all turned out quality story lines like they did with Lost Galaxy and Time Force. Not what we are getting now. So if they can bring a new generation in with Samaurai and Megaforce and Dino Charge and Ninja Steel, fantastic. Keep it alive I'm fine with that but its been 7 years since Samaurai the new fans (as well as old) deserve an In Space or SPD. So fingers crossed cause this franchise needs to respect new and old fans and they can do it if they are dedicated enough.

    The Disney Brain I will only say that I enjoyed nearly all of your analysis of RPM but I think you missed an important thing about why Scott Truman is the way he is.
    Imagine if you will idolizing someone your entire life. So much so that you followed in their footsteps and chose the same career, only to have that role model stolen from you. Never again will you see or be in the presence of this person that meant the whole entire world to you. What type of person would you be after such a tremendous loss? Would it break you? Would you have the strength to continue forward? Would your methodology towards getting the job done change, if you can even do it?
    This is the dynamic aaaand tragedy that fell before Scott. He watch his older brother, and best friend die. Was the risk of their mission inherent? Absolutely considering they were protecting the last vestiges of humanity in the domed city of Corinth from a threat unlike any other. For all intents and purposes, we (humanity) lost. We come into the series with that as a known backdrop and are reminded of said fact. In spite of this, Scott was a different person when we meet him and in flashbacks. Sure was a little headstrong, possibly cocky person but its because he wanted to be in the fight with his brother. With his brother he felt like he could've take back the planet, all because he brother was by his side.
    When Marcus died, Scott just like humanity lost almost everything. In many cases Scott is an allegory what humanity has gone through in part. We see how the loss effected him and changed him. The people of Corinth try to feign normalcy knowing death is constantly knocking on their doors. Scott much like Dylan becomes hard and shut off but more dedicated to his mission because of his loss. Dr. K chooses Scott because she knows he can identify with her mission. He is the perfect emissary to correct her mistake because Scott will relentlessly fight to keep the last of humanity alive. He's so mission driven that it does make him more of a taskmaster and less of a leader but the reason why is because he lost Marcus, his brother, his best friend, his world. Now in addition to keeping the remaining known population safe as well as his father safe, Scott has the tremendous responsibility of being the person to lead a unit capable of turning the tide or at least maintaining the status quo.
    Given all of thos factors, who would you be? Imo, Scott was and is a top 5 Red Ranger and might just as great character as you feel Dylan, Summer, K and Ziggy are to the season if not more so. If we would've gotten a few focus episodes of Scott growing up with Marcus and who was immediately follow his death and you would have one of if not the best to do it. Leo, thought he lost Mike but he got him back, Jen and the Time Force team thought they lost Alex but they got him back everyone sans Skye can't identify with that loss. In fact for that very same reason of you loving Skye would should love Scott too. Your right Scott was the perfect person to lead this team, and we watched him grow into that role and become an all time great as well.

    So after watching this awesome review I started to rewatch RPM last night. I loved it anyway, but thanks to you I have a better appreciation. So thanks 😊
    Although I feel in the section about Scott, you seemed to have skimmed the bit where is was actively using a child in a pram as a weapon. I laughed so hard watching that, it was horrifying 😂😂

    I only have one question. One of your criticisms with RPM was that it reused elements from In Space, yet your idea of better for a season final was for RPM to use a major element from In Space. Yeah, it would have been different, but so where the elements that RPM did similar to In Space.

    • @willieoelkers5568
      @willieoelkers5568 6 років тому +10

      The difference between what he liked and didn't like as far as shared elements go is that the ones he didn't like were more of copy-and-pasted plot points, whereas what he liked were more of general concepts or images rather than specific scenes and/or series of events.

    • @TheDisneyBrain
      @TheDisneyBrain  6 років тому +18

      Good question! It's kind of what Willie said. But adding to that, it's also because I think if they had done the finale in more of a triumph of humanity sort of style, it would have worked better to conclude what they were going for. People would have compared it to Countdown, but really, it would be more a mix of that and Jungle Fury's finale, what with all the masters coming out for one last fight, some of which were challenged for the better by the Rangers themselves. And if the Rangers could learn to think beyond just protecting the dome and hiding behind a shield, then it makes sense to me if everyone they directly influenced also could learn a similar lesson in the end. But the point is, there's a difference between inspired by and copied from, which leads me to Tenaya.
      Tenaya being a long lost sister and then becoming good again and then being evil again in a nearly indistinguishable way might as well be copying answers off a test someone else already passed. There are parts about it that work despite that, as I discussed, but it's more like the difference between Dino Thunder's first episode and Megaforce's. DT's was called "Day of the Dino" as a callback to the original Dumpter, but you can tell that the angle they're taking is unique, even with Tommy back. Megaforce's "The Team Assembles" on the other hand was basically an alarmingly poor note for note ripoff. All it was missing was discount Bulk and Skull.

    Gem/Gemma. Good idea conceptually. Poor in execution. Problem is they hired 'actors' for those roles who were noticeably less talented from the rest of the RPM cast. These two actors didn't really sell the material they were given. Their line delivery was over the top, but it was never funny. It just fell flat. I suppose it was setting us up for what was to come with Neo Saban.

    I hope the go busters will be good. At least on the level of Time Force, In Space, Lost Galaxy, RPM, SPD and Dino Thunder. I wanna believe it will be tied to this seadon with the computer virus synopsis because that is too coincidental...but knowing Power Rangers and what we are getting/have gotten, it won't be good or even connect to any previous season. I hope not considering I think it's supposed to be the 25th season, but looking at super megafarce, it will be disappointing.

    Could you perhaps do a video on wild force some time in the future? Currently on my rewatch of it and I gotta say, the villains wild force are definately worth an analysis. Especially with Cole’s revelation that the orgs have no hearts, and yet Jindrax and Toxica seem to care for eachother/be in love, which is a trait that humans mostly attribute to being caused by the heart. Plus Master orgs motivation is totally worth analysis and can show just how sick and twisted human villains can be. Just thought I’d give my two cents on a future video topic!

    • @TheDisneyBrain
      @TheDisneyBrain  6 років тому

      All of those points are great ones! Wild Force might end up being the next analysis, since a lot of people have been asking for that and/or Dino Charge.

      The Disney Brain I’m glad you think so! Take your time with writing these videos, gotta make sure your points hit home after all. Wild Force is my personal favourite season because of a mix of nostalgia and appreciation for the writing and effort put into it. Let’s just hope Saban learns that power rangers was at its most beloved AFTER the mmpr days, so hopefully soon they will stop trying to mimic that success...

    just as a suggestion for something you could do in April or May is a thematic review of either Wild Force, In Space, or Lightspeed Rescue. But for for the moment I'd say to tackle the top 10 blue rangers because i'm interested to know were you would place Noah on that list.

    If venjix were to appear in beast morphers, it would be interesting to see it using the data of the red rpm ranger(he is in his morpher at the end of rpm), since in go-busters the main villain "Enter" does exactly the same with the red buster obtaining the ability to do morph in a evil red buster

    I actually think the Tanaya thing is another part of RPM’s meta-narrative, as well as being neat in its own right. The basic idea of the long-lost sibling being the villainess is recycled, sure, but Dylan is nothing like Andros and Tanaya is nothing like Karone, which also means the dynamic between them is different too.
    The way Dylan tells Tanaya that she’s his sister is very telling for his character; He’s already accepted it and is super chill, which is a great carry-over from the episode about his memories-He learns in that episode that he doesn’t value his past as much as he values the present he finds himself in. So it’s only fitting that this reveal scene is not very dramatic on his part, and I like that a lot.
    This reveal also creates a really cool element for the meta-narrative about Power Rangers as a series; The idea that you can twist old ideas into new ones, and from that you can add completely new meanings to those ideas à la Billy Cranston and Flynn McAllistair being “the same”.

    There’s one tiny detail I’m surprised you didn’t bring up.
    In one of Dr. K’s flashbacks, she said “I wish I could remember my name.” That’s a striking statement. Because of Alphabet Soup, Dr. K didn’t know and couldn’t care who she herself was, and without much of an identity, relating to other people is almost impossible. That said, it’s not a surprising that Dillon could get through to her so well, since he had to push through his own identity loss and rebuilding.
