@Gameslayer 9000 dino charge was good in comparison to the other neo saban shows but compared to paste ranger seasons, I feel like it's not that great.
Silly ol’ me assumed we wouldn’t get much from the Christmas episode, so I edited this video before watching it. All I need to say about is, YES! Thank you Saban for sending us off the right way with the Sudarso Bros. moment I and many fans were begging for.
Speaking of Christmas, could you do a video talking about just all of the Christmas episodes? Including the Direct-to-Video special “Alpha’s Magical Christmas”.
I do want to point out that they were already filming some episodes of Beast Morphers when the Hasbro deal finalized, so we will likely still deal with the Neo-Saban Era in the first season.
Yeah despite some faults, it actually might've been one of, if not maybe THEY most solid NSt episode. Which is also really said and says so much about this series.
@Zachle Mentor Theri goal is to sell toys so, they might just attempt to do smth of substance, though finding actors who are willing to act for this show would be tough, it's not like the other "Tokusatsu," USA made TV series.
@@Raximus3000 yea and a show that's actually good might help sell toys. Kids are not dumb and if you give them something that's actually interesting then maybe they'll buy.
Ninja Steel more than any other season was the season of missed opportunities. Every time I saw them do something good, all I could think about was "With just a bit more effort this could have been great." It tainted everything good about it.
I dunno. I feel like although Dino Charge did plenty of good stuff comparatively, they were sitting on tons of untapped potential. They had several great things set up and then just missed the ball on executing on them. DInoCharge is great in the context of the NS era but could have been top tier with a few simple tweaks that would fix a lot.
I felt that it was a theme across all of the neo saban era (especially with Dino charge and ninja steel especially seeing how I really really don’t like Dino charge). It’s like the writers have all these ideas but don’t execute them cos of how the show is limited with constant mmpr pandering and nick jr style storytelling
@@GuillermoSmyser Dino Charge for me is the whole opposite to the whole Era. is not that they tried enough, is that they tried too much to the point they couldn't do everything they wanted (In recent comics Heckyl becoming the Talon Ranger is a proof of that).
Ninja Stel is somehow Worse than megaforce in that aspect. Megaforce is because it was lazy (seriously the finale of the generation didn't had MetaKnight and Orion fightning together just for a quick example). They could have been a complete copy of Gokaiger adapting everything form how it was, and it would have been better but when they tried to put effort, it was whe they should have taken the easy route (like how they adapted together 2 episodes together ust to justify why Green Ranger Noah was the one to build the canon) Ninja Steel somehow feels lazier because Ninninger was already episodic and only had some plot ideas (and i mean what i am saying, that was my first sentai). So they could have craft their own plot, or ignore the plot and focus on character relationships, but they didn't. (and they even forced us Victor and Monty who god knows they are at best repetitive and boring with too many fart jokes). The best example of the Ninja steel could have been better in a easy way? FOCUS ON THE PARENTS! like how we got on-screen at least oe parent of each ranger (as far as i know, i lost track After Dimensions in Danger), and that would have been interesting to see more. The arents appearing more with the rangers (wwith would be a nice way to adapt how family was a big theme in Nininger). especially with Foils likeMick being a parental figre, or even have Galanax being more interesting by have him see Brody as "the child he would have wanted to have". Or even Odius having the backstory of negletful parents. The fact that Brody's fathr appears just at the beginning of Super Ninja Steel and suddenly disappears is the best way to how wasted potential. Not even becoming a 2°mentor to the rangers, No. Nothing. he only (as far as i know) returns at the end to be brainwashed (and this would have bee more dramathic had they shown the parents brainwashed, all of them , to fight their kids)
1 thing I desperately want from the Hasbro seasons are what I’m calling “10 years later” episodes. Taking teams and showing us what they’ve been doing since their finales. How has Kira done with her singing Career. Did she inspired Levi Weston’s career have they sung together before. How are the wind and thunder ninja academies? Are Tori Shane Dustin Blake and Hunter the new masters? Do Jen and Wes take vacations in each others times. Does Tommy’s kid know about the Dino thunder rangers and do they come babysit. What are Nick Leanbow and Udonna doing? If I had my choice I’d take 45 min with each team but connect it to the most recent team somehow
Another, See The Peishwa School,How Is Casey Doing As The Mentor And Is Jarrod A Mentor Now.Are Theo And Lily Together As A Couple What are the Galaxy And Space Rangers Doing? What is Andros,Zhane And Karone Doing On Kale 35?Is Carter Stiil A Lightspeed Ranger At The Age of Fifty?. At least ninninger had anniversary elements in it and had characters you remember and weren't just one off generals. What does ninja steel have in it to live up to the 25th anniversary tag. A team up with 10 past rangers against the ninninger movie monster and a dumb christmas episode. out of 44 episodes of ninja steel calvin was the only ranger i grown to like, everyone else i grown to hate. Ninninger had 3 episodes with past rangers in it, NinjaRed/Alien Red, HurricaneRed/Ninja Storm Red, MagiYellow/Mystic Force Yellow, and Shurikenger / Ninja Storm Samurai Green. Jiraiya did not need to be in ninja steel at all. he is a metal hero that was never adapted into power rangers. The episode he was in ninja steel doesn't add anything to ninja steel at all and you could easily skip it. Ninninger is not a great sentai but it had anniversary elements catered to power rangers for the 25th anniversary and they use nothing from those 3 episodes. I rather watch ninninger over ninja steel any day.
@@arkanamaster4961 Agreed. Ninninger i at least have some memorable moments with. sure it might me my bias because it was the first sentai season i watched, but ninninger was a "Just OKay" season. it wasn't THE best but it was enjoyable depsite its shortcomings. ALSO, Ninninger doens't have the REALLY contested recurring characters that Victor and Monty are. who for some (Like Linkara surprsingly enough) are enjoyable but for me? I prefer to watch megaforce any day over ninja steel because they are just that unbearable to me. It helps megaforce is just slightly better in latn american dub (first of all, troy shares voice actor with mordecai from regular show's latin american dub. so that at least makes him more enjoyable to begin but i digress). ALSO. Yeah Ninninger Had everything for Ninja Steel to be an amazing season/adaptation becasue unlike Gokaiger the bar wasn't that high up. yet somehow Neo Saban Power Rangers still found a way to muck that up. Is just that thanks to the fact Ninningr was just an okay season the dissapointment doesn't feel that big. also thanks to the "Dimensions in Danger" crossover (even if that is just a copy paste of Shattered Grid (although that's another topic on its own) i give them bonus points for at least coming up with an excuse of how tommy has all his powers and the fanservice despite how short it was), ANd the Sudarso brothers somehow being able to make the most of the last christmas special
@@ianr.navahuber2195 yeah megaforce isn't as bad on a rewatch compared to ninja steel. Megaforce at least kind of explained stuffed, not in a good away, but still explained stuff. They don't even explain how sarah made a hoverboard and why no one is freaking out or giving her awards. Boring season.
@@arkanamaster4961 the thing about sarah is at this point more of a case of continuity. why? Ninja steel takes place in the universe where all seasons are canon. so sarah would in theory be "mediocre" or "good but not enough to be famous" from that standard at least in comparison
I really, really, REALLY hope that the Hasbro era is as good as the Disney era was in my eyes, Disney had almost all my favorite pr seasons as a kid and was always my favorite of the current eras, I honestly really want the Hasbro era to blow the Disney era out of the water
The Picard facepalm meme is the perfect metaphor for this season. So many missed opportunities and wasted potential, that made people say GOOD THINGS ABOUT OVERDRIVE!!
Yep. They did the whole Ninja thing once, maybe twice throughout both seasons. But for the most part, not much separated their motif from any other High School based Ranger team.
I would also agree that Saban's branding tactics did more to harm and hamper the creative abilities of the writers than the writers/producers themselves.
Sadly, the hiatus is on Nickelodeon's lap, not Hasbro. Nickelodeon's the one that airs the show and they're the ones who say when the show stops airing for a break. Most TV shows these days have breaks of AT LEAST 3 to 5 months/CW's The Flash & Arrow have this issue but they're just fine.
Oh, I agree with you. I hate the hiatuses as much as the next guy, but there's really nothing we can do about it. It's ultimately Nickelodeon who's to blame for the hiatus.
Personally, I think that Power Rangers just went downhill after RPM ended. Some good things did happened here and there, but in comparison to older seasons, even Ninja Storm felt more like a Power Rangers season than most of what the neo saban era gave us. I'm currently sticking with Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, but I still hope that the new Beast Morphers will turn out to be good (I still don't like the name of the new season though. putting words from the show into the season's name just sounds lazy).
Azeez Bashir you’re go need this en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Sentai here your road map. it less hard if you start with what comes first so you know the tv topes. Have fun
@@reesescott4070 I hope they don't repeat the Neo Saban era mistake of starting the seaon off by skipping the morphing sequence. or as i like to call it quick morphing.
Over the last nearly two years I’ve steadily gotten back into Power Rangers after dropping it over a decade ago (the last season I followed was Dino Thunder). I started with VHS tapes of MMPR episodes, the movies, and In Space as it aired. These videos are a big part of why I got back into the series and have provided me a good way of staying caught up while I go through the older seasons. Thanks a ton, man!
That end speech, really resonates with alot of us! But ypu know what they say: the winds of change are always uncertain. Beast Morphers may be phenominal, and be up there with some of the greatest seasnons, maybe it'll be like Dino (super)charge and be Okay or passable, maybe it'll be an absolute dumpster fire like Overdrive or (Super)Megaforce. All we have to do is wait, and speculate!
Neo Saban gave us 3 awful Red Rangers, the worse PR Fathers. Some of the worse main villains with Zandred probably being the shittiest. The worse legacy/crossover special, and the new overall worse Power Ranger of all time.
correct me if im wrong but i think neo-saban is the only era with a season in which the rangers actually have a plan to stop the main villain. probably one of the more underrated positives of samurai.
@@gengardiego9430 Couple of things. 1. Yes I guess, once its discovered that Nick is the Light hes supposed to lead the Mystic team victory. S.P.D. is a good reverse where instead Grumm has a plan and its done much better. Finally Zandred as mentioned before is so awful and was lucky to avoid the seal the first time. 2. The Shiba Clan Seal business is straight from the Sentai version so I'm not giving Samurai credit, adding to that they wasted the whole thing anyway by making Jayden terrible.
@@BlackChapters you make avalid point about the shiba plan. though to be fair just because it was in the sentai and reused in the american adaptation doesnt mean its automatically bad, especially if you havent seen the sentai so its technically a new twist. funny that you mention spd since in the episode where kruger gets fired, sky points out how commander birdie probably wants the rangers to attack grumm instead of waiting for him to attack first. i think a read somewhere that most of spd was translated straight from its sentai to which the producers said that the writers are paid to translate.
Beast Morphers is gonna be another Wild Force scenario, where it's technically a new company, but it's all the same people doing the show. It's gonna suck.
WillyToons yep especially since they announced that neo Saban writers and song writers r gonna return so yeah we got another season of this nightmare upon us.
can't we wait until the show ACTUALLY starts? I know you have your worries but you shouldn't jump the gun that fast. At least watch a few episodes of Beast Morphers before saying that it sucks. I'm just saying.
Dude, I would KILL for Beast Morphers to be anything near what Wild Force was. Even on their worst days (Kite) there was still a novel idea there. And if our new women in Yellow is anything like Taylor, pssh, SOLD!
More like #screwbrainlessBulkandSkull. I mean as annoying as they can be, you could tell they always had SOME intelligence to them, they just didn't always apply themselves properly and that's where the comedy for them works. Even SAMURAI understood that better.
@@anirudhviswanathan3986 Worst than that, not only is the 50th trophy not earned,I have serious doubts concerning the other 49. Monty has a history of helping Vincent cheat so who's to say any of those are legit.
I love your content. You have so much passion for all things Power Rangers. I remember when I was a kid it used to be the coolest thing to me. It's still something of a guilty pleasure for me to revisit when I find it on TV and listening to you talk about the show and it's characters with such enthusiasm makes for very entertaining videos.
This era does not deserve the name "NeoSaban" because its nothing like the old saban seasons. Hell even Mighty Morphin, 25 years after it aired is still better across the board than Megaforce or Ninja Steel.
I read somewhere that Judd Lynn wanted the tone to be similar to In Space. But either Nickolodeon or Saban forced it to have a light hearted tone. You can tell that the seeds have been planted but not allowed to grow. I generally belive Ninja Steel would have been good if it was the version that the writing team had envisioned. But are tied down by the demands of the network. I really hope Beast Morphers has actual story and character arcs. But it's still Nickolodeon and let's just subtlety isn't their strongsuit.
well there's bad news it's still going to be 22 episodes only and saban even there company is shutdown is working together with hasbro and the chances and changes will appear in 2022 when they finish with nickelodeon in 2021 so 19 and 20 will have normal and super seasons of beast morphers
I think it's more Saban (the one that wanted to milk nostalgia and force Bulk and Skull characters on us) than Nick (who hasn't been promoting PR that well from what I heard).
@brandon quinoes I am aware of the 'Super' season. @TheBleachj16 From what I read, he wanted it to have a similar feel to In Space. If he didn't say that than fine. @zjr08 I agree.
Actually Judd/Chip Lynn is responsible for the goofier elements of Power Rangers. The great seasons like In Space, Time Force, and Light Speed Rescue were more serious right? Judd/Chip Lynn didn't like that, but he was creatively reigned in to not add silly goofy scenes to those great seasons. How do I know this? Go watch Power Morphicon 2018 and he revealed on the panel that he thinks Power Rangers should always be what Ninja Steel was. THAT is HIS vision for Power Rangers......gross.
I'm from Brazil (just like the actress who portrays Sarah !) and here, just a fun fact, Sheriff Skyfire is severely hated. Jiraya, the original japanese character, was surprisingly popular around here during the 80s, and Skyfire being a dumbed down version of that character, and having the same appearence but none of the original's identity, really rubbed people the wrong way
Ninja Steel was the season that broke Power Rangers. It was so terrible that it was forgettable, and everyone seems to be apathetic about it. Ratings have hit a low. Personally, Nst was so bad that I don't even want to see PR continue at this point. It's become a straight up embarrassment over the past years.
@@Knightfall182 Hasbro is known to not tie their writers to a tree unlike Saban. Have a little faith. I didn't like Ninja Steel either, but I REFUSE to give up on Power Rangers in general.
And thus, a new era shall begin... You know, you became my second favorite PR reviewer (I think you already know who #1 is) And I think you have done a terrific job on analyzing many themes from seasons that, I don't think I would have ever thought about... I am really proud to say, I expect new videos from you on Beast Morphers next year... Also, while I will always be cautiously optimistic with Hasbro, they have shown time and time again that they are capable of taking franchises and make them either unbelivably better or stupidly bad... Yeah, they are not perfect, but if Transformers and MLP has taught something to the world about Hasbro is that growing, taking risks, trying new things and always improve is their everyday status... I am not saying this as a Hasbro fanboy, I am not, but rather as a person who learned about their story, their incredible failings (which were many) and their always surprising triumphs (which are also many) I will keep myself cautiously optimistic, but I do believe Power Rangers as a franchise will be fine See you soon man, and always waiting for the next video...
I heard that his sentai counterpart also appeared in the Sentai Beaast Morphers will be based on, so hopefully he will make an appearance in the next season or the one after. Would be a fun and easy way to bring at least one character from Ninja Steel back.
Hey man, I found your channel pretty recently and I've really been liking it so far. It's made me really wanna sit down and watch Power Rangers again, something I haven't done in YEARS, which also, unfortunately, means that I'm quite behind. (I mean, the only season that I've ever watched consistently was Megaforce, and I didn't even watch the whole season, nor Super Megaforce) So yeah, here's to hoping I can find a good season to start with! Best to ya.
@@dantheman8103 there is one difference though. Hasbri bought up Saban Brands mainly for Power Rangers. Disney didnt. Even then' at least Disney decided to allow the show to be made competently. Imagine what it could be with a company that actually wants it.
Can I say this: In Samurai we had the whole team w/o Antonio who got a super form and some got Shogun Mode (or at least used it) Megaforce had everyone get new suits. That's it. Dino Charge had Tyler a super mode. And everyone in the main team, even Ivan, used Dino Super Drive Saber. Ninja Steel didn't even give Preston, Hayley or Sarah the chainsaw or the blaster once. I assume Calvin is second in command in terms of how he gets the weapons if Brody is outside the pit.
My points on why ninja steel failed as a show 1. The red ranger being kept from earth FOR 10 YEARS NO PROBLEMS WHEN COMING BACK 2. The father being completely useless in super ninja steel 3. Giant red ranger ( in ninninger it made sense, here it doesn't ) 4. FUCKING VICTOR AND MONTY NEED I SAY MORE
Alright, time for Hasbro to step in. The new era for the new generation, will they deliver? Let's hope because Beast Morphers looks good and as for someone who isn't a hardcore Rangers fan, I do want to see how Hasbro will handle this franchise. #PowerRangers
Augustus Freeman Maybe but it’s likely they’ll have more creative freedom with Hasbro than they did with Saban which is good and Judd Lynn is connected to this series from what I’ve heard and he’s been associated with some rather good Power Rangers series.
What if since Gobusters was a tribute to Power Rangers, Beast Morphers would be a tribute to Sentai. Think about it: main cast and some extras dancing at the end of every episode.
Dino Charge is great but the problem is, all 10 couldn't morph together which I honestly hated. Other than that, Power Rangers Samurai was really good imo. Anyways, Dino Charge was perfect
The most I can say about the Neo Saban Era is that it coasted along, every Season. Saban was banking on Fan Nostalgia, with its first run of Power Rangers. Saban did just enough, to tick the boxes, so long time Fans could identify what they put out, as Power Rangers. It is sad what they did to the Franchise, because if they actually gave a damn, they could have come out with something truly spectacular, and you caught glimpses of that, here and there. Here is to hoping that Hasbro can right this ship.
Brody is to bland, Preston is okay, Calvin is the better character, Hayley is the same as Calvin, Sarah isn't convince as a nerd, she looks more like the popular one, Levi is okay. Mick was so-so
They, technically, didn't bring Victor and Monty on the ship for the monsters' entertainment. They brought them to the ship to get humans to watch the show so they could brainwash them. Btw, I am so happy this era is finally ending.
Ninja Steel as a whole, at least in my opinion, was disappointing. Not bad like megaforce, but disappointing, and I was hoping this wasn't going to happen.....it does have some good elements here like the fantastic anniversary crossover and as u said Calvin and Hayley's relationship getting better, but everything else kinda falls on it's face and i did NOT like this series' finale. In the final fight for "Humanity" they could've just......oh i dunno.....have Victor and Monty inspire the people on the ship to fight, giving them a reason to actually you know.....exist in the show besides being a poor excuse for a Bulk and Skull knock off or, have that computer ninja, who i agree is the best supporting character by the way, talk everyone into fighting and have her say that they should be fighting just like the rangers, and am I the only one who thinks Madame Odius went out in the cheesiest way possible even by power rangers' standards? I was praying this season wouldn't be a disappointment but sadly.....it is.....Here's hope to the future that Beast Morphers and the Hasbros era will steer PR back in the right direction.
personally i think the biggest issue with ninja steel and neo-saban in general is the fact that they stayed on the child-friendly side of this franchise and didnt really try to dive deeper than that. just look at lost galaxy. it was great in the 90s and is still great today.
With all due respect, but the Power Rangers franchise has always and will continue to be primarily for kids, therefore it will stay as child-friendly. I mean, if Power Rangers became for teens and adults, then kids under the age of 13 can never enjoy Power Rangers.
Honestly, this season had some of the better jokes in this season. Be it the lampshading by saying that maybe they should check out the quarry in that love arrow ep, and having them just doing donuts on their bike to hide their hideout being at the school
The Neo Saban Era was problematic and confusing in some places but it was an Era that brought Power Rangers back into the spotlight of pop culture, it’s sure to be up there with the greats.
I only hope we don't get a bunch of unintelligible plotlines that will confuse anyone who HASN'T read the new Boom comics, like with this year's anniversary episode.
One thing that Saban Brands did so well with PR, is well, branding. They made it quite lucrative again, and now sold it to a bigger company that can unlock it's potential to the fullest. Problem is by doing it they seem to have taken away its soul that if feels quite shallow a lot of times. I hope that under Hasbro they will get that soul back but still make it a recognizable brand name.
So glad the neo saban era is done!! I look forward to watching Hasbro hopefully give this franchise the great characters & story its known for in it glory days
I would love it if all of the people who watch your channel as well as yourself to work together and create our own two seasons of Power Rangers and we can go pitch it to Hasbro to air after Beast Morphers(I think that is what it is called) because I think if we all work together, we can have a masterpiece
@@1truecrazychris348 I think Kagaku Sentai Dynaman would be good source material. What interested me was how different each end goal was for the rangers. And I think operating with a children playground/center which would basically be the Boys and Girls Club, would be interesting too.
Neo Saban was an all around disappointment aside from Dino Charge but just like I wanted that Dark Ranger I really wanted that Green Ranger Emma was awesome! Mick and Dane didn't do anything. That wasn't fair.
I hated how they let us known in the special crossover episode tommy oliver has a son but did not tell us who the mother was what happened to tommy after dino thunder. would love to see more back story of tommy because hes the most favourite power ranger ever exist
@Timinator6069 I mean He was in Ninninger already. They did a whole bunch of cameos from former red ninjas. There was an episode where NinjaRed (Red Alien Ranger) and Hurricane Red (Red Ninja Storm Ranger) showed up to train the Ninningers on how to do stuff. Then gave them special ninja power stars to use their skills.
The whole point of Akibaranger is to make fun of not just Super Sentai, but of _its fandom._ That's too novel a concept to be adapted, either the way it is or as something more serious.
Big Disney Brain: There is no right or wrong side in the argument between Calvin and Hailey Small Brained Linkara: they try to make it seem like Hailey is somewhat wrong but... No she isn’t.
Would love to see some “here’s how I’d have done it” with seasons: ones that just need a few tweaks or even ones that you feel should go start with clean slate.
The reason they didn't use Midoninger (The green ninja steel ranger) is because she was a movie only ranger, and rangers, zords, and allies from movies aren't used for the power rangers adaption. For example Dino Charge's sentai had a Navy Ranger in two movies, and while it was speculated Heckyl would be the Navy Dino Charge ranger, Saban never used it. But who knows, maybe if Hasbro does an adaption of ToQger we will get the purple ranger from that sentai.
@@disneyerapowerrangers2923 Oh right I forgot about that. Well villians seem to be the exception to the movie exclusive rule. Lord Draven from Dimensions In Danger was also from a movie now that I think about it. But we still have never had a movie exclusive zord or ranger in Power Rangers yet, which was my main point
I don't watch the Sentai but pretty sure it was from a movie and only appeared the one time. Which is likely the reason it was never adapted, I don't think their deal includes the movies without paying extra for that footage, and given it was a one time Ranger and girl Ranger toys don't sell as well there was no real reason to include her when she was only in one episode, especially if they would have had to pay extra for the footage to get her. I mean yeah, they could have filmed some original footage to give her at least a slightly longer stay, but again... her toys almost surely would have been some of the lesser selling ones so it probably would never have been deemed worth it. The truth is if the Sentai allowed it I have a feeling PR would never have more then one ranger per season. From a perspective of selling toys that is all they need, but the Sentai has more then one most times and you can't really put a miniskirt onto a boy, so they have to have 2 most times.
Yes, I think it was from a movie. Saying that there was a green ranger was confusing to me because movies are normally not part of the series in this way. Dekaranger had a new ranger (DekaGold) in one movie that didn't carry over to it or Power Rangers SPD.
DanTheMan makes a great point. Those poor Yellow Ranger figures lining the shelves at Target while literally every other color runs dry :( But at least we were spared of anymore Viera :)
Do you think that Ninja Steel would be better if the rangers were not high schoolers and there just random adults in their 20s like what the actors actually are and they working at a car shop? If you would replace the idea that they are high school with the idea that they are not high schoolers especially without Victor and Monty what would you think?
I know this comment was two years ago but that was exactly what I was thinking what they should've done for the show's placement ps: I would still keep some parts from the original plot of the show, just changing the background placement to a car shop and do their training in there or outside of a forest
Interesting, did you research Ninninger or watch it? being someone who's watched it, I will say that the Green ranger only properly appears in the movie Ninnin boys Vs Ninnin girls. It does not actually appear in the series, although the shuriken for green ranger is eventually given to Odious's counterpart Kyeumon and the moment when he finds the green Ninnin shuriken, it is a really emotional moment, just like when Random decides to become good in Timeforce as Kyeumon's like Random also has a change of heart at this point. However, Ransom saw the himself about to lose the one thing he truly loved. Kyeumon's finally earned the one thing he truly wanted, respect from the Last Ninja. In the movie, the green ranger is possessed by Kyeumon's spirit who fights for the Ninninger's showing that he has wiped away his villainous traits.
Admittedly, I only researched, lol. And yeah, I've been seeing quite a few comments detailing how little she actually appeared, so a Green Ranger in this season maaaay have been asking for too much.
Yeah, from my comment, I'd be delighted to let you know that I've seen Ninninger, and if people say it is a season that is terrible, don't believe them. It is "better than you think".
AMEN when it comes to Dane Romero! He would've been a great mentor to the rangers- I would've liked to see him teach them some things and watch some bonding moments between him and his sons..because you know, they've been apart for years and finding him was this BIG deal in the first season.. but in the second season..we only see him in the first episode and final episodes..wow.
When the finale aired, i had to check the info, i was THAT lost. It was so sudden, the stakes were so low. I actually asked out loud "wait, this is the finale?!"
Besides Dino Charge, this era was nothing but disappointment. Megaforce was an awful anniversary season and Ninja Steel, while also a anniversary season, was just an awful season on it's own. Thank God it's over and we can accept the Hasbro era into our lives. Hopefully it's good.
20:34 ALSO put effort. BUT WHERE IT SHOULD BE PUT EFFORT. Megaforce's main problem is surprisingly enough for me not that they put effort. But that they put effrot where they shoudln't (like Justifying why the rangers were forced into Megaforce forms in vrak is Back, or why Green Ranger is the one creating the cannon in Grass is always greener or bluer; OR THE BEST EXAMPLE: THAT FIGHT IN THE WRATH. like, either go the easy route and keep sentai footage, or do new footage, DON'T HALF PUT EFFORT HALF HALF-ASS IT!)

@@kobaltsteel6418 Megaforc emight not be the first one, bu was when the problem was even more clear (In wild force, sometimes, is gaoranger's red ranger in transformations BUT because he looked a little bit like Cole, they kept him in some shots so it wasn't that noticable). ALSO the "Adapting the Pre-Zyu teams" could have been handled like "this rangers died. Their powers lost, long ago, and this keys being "Back-Ups" OR "thy died against the armada". And if someone asked "Who created this back-ups?" it could have been said that "a Time Travelling Sentinel Knight using the Aurora Crown preserving the powers and the Morphing Grid connection contacted Zordon in the past and so Zordon recruited Gosei to be "a living back-up and protector of the legacy"". Which would have been a good explanation for "Why they have powers that were suppsoedly lost, like Dino Thunder", and it would explain why they have other universes Powers (after all, if tha auroroa crown is that powerful, going trhough universes and dimensions wouldn't be that difficult)
I actually enjoyed the ninja steel series to a degree. the problems i had with the show was that it didn't really focus on developing characters and it had way to much filler especially around the last few episodes.
Ninninger’s green ranger was only in one of their movies. The movie exclusive rangers usually don’t get adapted into pr, probably because there’s not a lot of footage for them.
I hated how they defeated the final big bad. That moment must always give a sense of relief to the viewer and satisfaction. This didn't do either. They just kind of blew her up and it was over. It reminded me of a lazy version of how dinothunder beat their boss except no sacrifice behind it.
Jungle Fury has been my least favorite finale so far. Probably cause of the whole writer's strike or whatever was going on at the time. For such a good season, the ending didn't live up to it, IMO.
The issue with jungle fury's ending is how anti climatic it was for them to use a giant glowing ball to defeat the thing. I would have preferred animal spirits doing it akin to wild force. I would have also liked if Jared weakening daishi was abit harder to do. He kind of just flew at him and bamn you're weak.
Tissan Young Honestly Jungle Fury’s finale was one of my favorite finale’s Power Rangers had, it satisfying ended all the plot lines, it had a pretty badass endgame fight and overall a great ending.
Amazing video. If there is something I like about your Power Rangers reviews, apart for the in-depth look at the series and the emphasis on themes and character development. Two things that I love to look at. Is that you never sound like a ranter. I mean, you could loathe a season, but even then you recognize and point the good aspects of it, the small victories and the lost potential. You don't just complain, you offer solutions. And that is quite refreshing. And yes there are other reviewers that do something like that, but among the whiners and the 'oh god one thing does not work so this series is trash' crowd... it is nice to heard a different perspective. I like the points you made and I do agree with most of them. This series was disappointing for me. The characters were mostly bland and one note. They felt like the blueprint of a character more than a character. The weekly lessons ended being so subtle that I was waiting for a Sonic Sayz segment by the second half. Some attempts at development or something like that ended with the situations that lead to say development feeling forced. The comic relief feels forced and more childish than needed. There is also the lost opportunities like you pointed out with the World Greatest Ninja and Hunger Games in Space! Also, maybe if as a writer you will take so much time of each episode in the comic relief, try to make it count. Also, I could not feel connected with the characters. The one time was in the first part when Brody and real Aiden actually reunite. That was a really nice moment that felt natural and earned. And also, some early moments of Hayley and Calvin. As for loathing, I hated Pizza call heel turn lady, I detested not only how fast she switched, but also how little it was made to matter. To the point that I was about to punch the screen if anyone said anything against Mick righteous anger. And that resolution was lukewarm at best. So yes, not a fan. I do hope that Hasbro does its own thing and lets loose with Beast Morphers. I agree that they should make a series that people can latch to and remember fondly. Also, a quick question: Do you dislike Dino Charge? And no, this is not one of those you like or dislike something so I am going to be offended bs. I am just curious.
Thank you for the wonderful words! Honestly, I just don't have it in me to be a ranter. I did that for a video I made about Disney Channel Love Triangles forever ago, but that was a unique situation (I even swore :O). LOL, but now that I'm thinking about it, even then, I offered a potentially better solution that would have made a lot more sense for the characters involved. And to address your question, yes! I love Dino Charge, especially Tyler, Shelby, and Kendall
So I have a question. Two questions now that I'm thinking about it. What exactly is ninja steel and why do the villains want it so bad? From what I saw, all it does is give ninja powers. Not saying ninja powers are bad or anything. It just seems so small and insignificant on the grand scale of things. Galvanax was already pretty strong and all the ninja steel did to him was make his body hard. This seemed like a lot of effort was put into something that could've been easily done by buying some armour. Odius is in the same boat. Why did she want ninja steel when her own powers seemed so much better. So yeah, what exactly is ninja steel and why did everyone want it? I don't feel like this was revealed in the series or maybe I missed it.
Saban had already renewed PR with Nick till 2021 soHasbro can't leave till then. Not to mention people claim that this is the end of the saban era when technically it isn't. Pre Production on Beast Morphers had already gotten started by Saban. This is like Wild force again. The Saban Disney hybrid that is wild force is now history repeating himself which Beast Morphers is a Neo Saban Hasbro Hybrid. Not to mention Saban is still working on PR with Hasbro. The merge buyout of PR shows that Saban still has a say.
Michael Segal oh okay that you made a very big point and now people are going to riot and the show will get cancelled if beast morphers has low views and the worst part is that nickelodeon is still the boss in the business deals and still give 22 episodes only
As I understand it, the green (like the navy dinocharge) ranger are in Sentai movies to which Rangers does not have rights to. I for one would love to see them do something with the movies. I sent hasbro a dm about it and encourage y’all to do the same concerning your thoughts and desires.
From good to very bad, this was still an era worth watching and worth learning from. I hope Beast Morphers is a sign of good things to come.

Speaking of Christmas, could you do a video talking about just all of the Christmas episodes? Including the Direct-to-Video special “Alpha’s Magical Christmas”.

The only good thing this season did was end
@@GuillermoSmyser Dino Charge for me is the whole opposite to the whole Era. is not that they tried enough, is that they tried too much to the point they couldn't do everything they wanted (In recent comics Heckyl becoming the Talon Ranger is a proof of that).
Ninja Stel is somehow Worse than megaforce in that aspect. Megaforce is because it was lazy (seriously the finale of the generation didn't had MetaKnight and Orion fightning together just for a quick example). They could have been a complete copy of Gokaiger adapting everything form how it was, and it would have been better but when they tried to put effort, it was whe they should have taken the easy route (like how they adapted together 2 episodes together ust to justify why Green Ranger Noah was the one to build the canon)
Ninja Steel somehow feels lazier because Ninninger was already episodic and only had some plot ideas (and i mean what i am saying, that was my first sentai).
There IS one good thing from the Neo-Saban era...

How are the wind and thunder ninja academies? Are Tori Shane Dustin Blake and Hunter the new masters?
Do Jen and Wes take vacations in each others times.

If I had my choice I’d take 45 min with each team but connect it to the most recent team somehow

that just makes it sadder.
Ninninger had 3 episodes with past rangers in it, NinjaRed/Alien Red, HurricaneRed/Ninja Storm Red, MagiYellow/Mystic Force Yellow, and Shurikenger
/ Ninja Storm Samurai Green.

Alright Hasbro if you want to correct the mistakes Saban made don't air eight episodes and then go on a five month hiatus until August.

Neo Saban gave us 3 awful Red Rangers, the worse PR Fathers. Some of the worse main villains with Zandred probably being the shittiest. The worse legacy/crossover special, and the new overall worse Power Ranger of all time.
It's sad when Vrak from MEGAFORCE is the most competent villain in the entire Neo Saban era.

correct me if im wrong but i think neo-saban is the only era with a season in which the rangers actually have a plan to stop the main villain. probably one of the more underrated positives of samurai.

Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel: not a good season but not a terrible season. Just more inconsistent than bad tbh
Out of the Neo Saban era, dino charge was the best and I just watched super mega force for the fights and ranger transformations
There wasn’t enough ninja in ninja steel
I just realized in 3:40 , its void knight!
Goodbye Neo-Saban era. You won’t be missed. Although I did enjoy Dino Charge. Everything else can be tossed into the trash where it belongs
I saw a lot of potential in Emma too! Dang I wished we got more of her. Heard she be in Mulan though.
Lol i didn't even finish this season that how bad it was... dont feel like I've missed anything
Two, maybe three episodes here are worth at least one watch I'd say. But yeah, on the whole, you didn't miss much, lol
The Neo Saban Era was problematic and confusing in some places but it was an Era that brought Power Rangers back into the spotlight of pop culture, it’s sure to be up there with the greats.
I think you should be thanking Boom comics and great and powerful Lord Drakkon for that achievement instead of these has beens.
aliastheabnormal
Boom Comics did PR in 2016 when PR had already been brought back in 2011 by Samurai.
@@samuraifighterchick1456 I don't think being compared to Sonic the hedgehog is something to be proud of.
Does the scene at 4:24 look wrong is is it just me
So glad the neo saban era is done!!
That would be awsome
But what sentais should we pick
I say we go with one of the first fifteen sentai seasons
Two of the ones i would like the see are Uchu Sentai kyuranger & Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman
I will never miss this season, not even the characters of this era.
I think you mean characters not actors
@@andrewlawton562 Yeah sorry, i was type too fast.
@@caiolimacaldas yeah i got confused.
Let’s be honest, ninja (super) steel is the ice age collision course of power rangers seasons
Dino Charge was sooo good they needed a new universe to make it!
I'm mad these final episodes feel the same way every season.
Something tells me that we should've adapted Akibaranger, but then I realized that the guys at Saban might screw it up.
@Timinator6069 Three parter.
Big Disney Brain: There is no right or wrong side in the argument between Calvin and Hailey
Small Brained Linkara: they try to make it seem like Hailey is somewhat wrong but...
But who knows, maybe if Hasbro does an adaption of ToQger we will get the purple ranger from that sentai.
but snide came from a movie.
Neo Saba Era has been defeated, the worst and most nefarious villain of the Power Rangers has been defeat
I don't remember the Green Ranger. Maybe was a movie summertime only thing.
Although Viera is somewhat of a representative of green ranger status. Green overcoat, green sparkles when shape shifting, may I go on.
DanTheMan makes a great point. Those poor Yellow Ranger figures lining the shelves at Target while literally every other color runs dry :(
But at least we were spared of anymore Viera :)
Do you think that Ninja Steel would be better if the rangers were not high schoolers and there just random adults in their 20s like what the actors actually are and they working at a car shop? If you would replace the idea that they are high school with the idea that they are not high schoolers especially without Victor and Monty what would you think?
I know this comment was two years ago but that was exactly what I was thinking what they should've done for the show's placement
ps: I would still keep some parts from the original plot of the show, just changing the background placement to a car shop and do their training in there or outside of a forest
Goodbye samurai, mega force, you may not be good, but you were my childhood.
And it ended far too late.
Also, editing out Sentai only rangers in SOME SCENES and letting them go through in SEVERAL OTHERS WITH ZERO EXPLANATION!!!
@@anirudhviswanathan3986 the worst offender? In second to Last episode when they blast the rangers out of the Zords, YOU CAN SEE THE GOKAIGERS!!!
They could have found a way to adspt ALL Non adapte sentaí suits, BUT THAT!? That is Just lazy
@@ianr.navahuber2195 That's not a Megaforce-exlusive problem; it happens a lot in Power Rangers (and even Saban's other Toku shows), from MMPR to Samurai... but Megaforce was weird with this one, as one shot had the Megaforce rangers while another shot had the Gokaigers...
But seeing the Pre-Zyu teams, with no explanation, was stupid...
Finally the lightspeed rescue review is coming and for the first time I'm going to hear someone say something good about this season.
This series is over?! Thank goodness hopefully beast morphers gets it right...
I merely hope for better than what we've been getting, but I would be ecstatic if we got greatness.
If the Baron Nemo suit was used in Ninja Steel. If and when Toqger is adapted. Would they use the suit again or do something else?
Goodbye, Neo-Saban Era. It was fun while it lasted. :)
👋😀😄🙂
I believe I can summarize the Neo Saban era
Samurai: eh
Megaforce: BOOOOO
Dino Charge: Hey this is pretty good
Ninja Steel: Why
Emma just could've been a female Cam from ninja storm
I hated how they defeated the final big bad. That moment must always give a sense of relief to the viewer and satisfaction. This didn't do either. They just kind of blew her up and it was over. It reminded me of a lazy version of how dinothunder beat their boss except no sacrifice behind it.
Jungle Fury has been my least favorite finale so far. Probably cause of the whole writer's strike or whatever was going on at the time. For such a good season, the ending didn't live up to it, IMO.
BraveHeartedHero1 I didn’t enjoy Dino Super Charge finale. The rangers didn’t have a legit fight against Sledge.
Young, i think jungle fury's finale is one the best.
11:18 Jesus, I just can't help but see a younger Linden Ashby in those kind of shots.
I’m glad to see that I wasn’t the only one wondering “what would happen if Power rangers went to Netflix”
We need to talk to the writers
Saban had already renewed PR with Nick till 2021 soHasbro can't leave till then. Not to mention people claim that this is the end of the saban era when technically it isn't. Pre Production on Beast Morphers had already gotten started by Saban. This is like Wild force again. The Saban Disney hybrid that is wild force is now history repeating himself which Beast Morphers is a Neo Saban Hasbro Hybrid. Not to mention Saban is still working on PR with Hasbro. The merge buyout of PR shows that Saban still has a say.
Michael Segal oh okay that you made a very big point and now people are going to riot and the show will get cancelled if beast morphers has low views and the worst part is that nickelodeon is still the boss in the business deals and still give 22 episodes only
This era went out with a bang.
As I understand it, the green (like the navy dinocharge) ranger are in Sentai movies to which Rangers does not have rights to. I for one would love to see them do something with the movies. I sent hasbro a dm about it and encourage y’all to do the same concerning your thoughts and desires.
so was snide.
Thank God it's finally over.
If I’m being honest, I watched this season because they have one of the most attractive team of rangers I’ve ever seen 🤷🏾♂️
Who is it?
Is Jungle Fury and RPM part of Neo Saban? I liked those seasons.
No they are not. They are a part of the Disney Era of Power Rangers, much better than the Neo Saban Era.
God damn, it is painful to see the difference in production values, cinematography and lighting between RPM and Ninja Steel
