    Thank you, you saved my life! Being on social security I don't have money to pay for a service call, by mid-month there's nothing left in the bank. It's 92 degrees in my duplex, my dogs are panting and I can't finish a bottle of cold water before it becomes warm. My hair is drenched and I thought I would soon become a statistic of the elderly who died in this heat wave. I change the batteris, opened the vents I closed in the bathrooms, and changed the air filter that I forgot about. The programing is still confusing but at the moment cold air is coming out. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Thanks a lot. My daughter kept freezing and turning on her fireplace in her room when it was 85 in the house. I closed the vent in her room to keep her from getting cold and also to keep from paying an outrageous electric bill. I didn't know closing off that vent would cause my a/c to freeze up but it did. Thanks again. By the way she is not happy with me, but I gave her a heavy robe and told her to wear it.

    Why leave the ceiling vents open in rooms that I never use? It seems that cooling rooms that I don't use takes away from cooling the rooms that I do use. BTW, great videos.

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  5 років тому +2

      Well, if you close the vents, it will force more air into the rooms you are trying to cool. But, the system is not designed to work that way. It designed to be a balanced system, meaning the same amount of air you force out needs to find its way back. In the short term you may be getting more air in the rooms you're trying to cool but you are putting more strain on the system and ultimately shortening it life span, by how much I don't know . . . it is what the engineers and manufactures say. With that being said . . . do what you gotta do, I ain't mad at ya. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

  • @iliakaplan

    great video! questions: 1. whats your take on washable filters? 2. i closed the vent in the kitchen cause it is always too cool, while tv room (right next to it) is always too warm... it's better balanced now... BUT is this ok?

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  4 роки тому +1

      1. As long as you're keeping that washable filter clean, I think they are great.
      2. If those are the only vents you're closing, it will probably be fine. Don't close many more than that though. When it is time to replace your system, bring that up to the companies biding the project and have them look at fixing the imbalance with proper airflow.

    Hello. Great video.
    I have another issue with my air conditioner (LGcs09af Inverter). The remote will not working properly. The infrared sign and the screen is working fine but the clima doesn't respond, only in manual mode.
    I try to press the power button in 6 seconds to do a hard reset but it's not working.

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  7 років тому

      If we were troubleshooting this, the first place we would start would be to replace the batteries in the remote (there's a good chance you've already done this). If that doesn't work, we would contact the manufacturer's troubleshooting department to see if they've had issues with this particular model. They may be able to give you some more information. If your system is still under warranty, see if they'll send you a new remote. The issue is either with the remote sending information, or with the unit receiving it.
      After speaking with the manufacturer, if that didn't help, I would try contacting the company that installed it for you. Great question, thanks for asking, good luck!

    We had the blower motor replaced in our furnace. About a month after this repair we noticed water on the floor around the furnace. When the repairman came in to fix it, he found a piece of material similar to insulation blocking the drainage pipe inside the furnace. He did ask if we had recently had any repairs. Is there anyway that this type of debris can get into the AC on its own? I'm concerned that this might have been done purposely during the first repair, but I don't want to accuse anyone unless I'm absolutely sure.

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  7 років тому +1

      Tha's a tough question to answer. My first in stink is to give people the benefit of the doubt and say that they are not dishonest and wouldn't do that to cause another service call but then there are those stories of repair guys doing that kind of thing. It is possible for those drain lines to become clogged over time. I guess it is also possible that a small piece of insulation could have made its way in there, especially if there is an open part of the drain somewhere and your furnace area is unfinished, like an attic or crawlspace. If it looked like a bigger piece that would have had to be stuffed in, that's a different story. I don't know but I'm like you and would want to be careful making accusations like that. I'm sorry that happened to you. Good luck and thanks for the question.

  • @minimonkeyplay
    @minimonkeyplay 5 років тому +2

    Hmm after replacing my filter and checking for a clogged drain a broken line that might indicate a leak of refrigerant. I still get no cold air my last guess is the thermostat is broken since I could set it to 50 degrees and it still wont kick on even on cold

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  5 років тому

      My thermostat started doing the same thing last year. The digital read out looked like it was working and I had it set to cold and adjusted it down so that the AC should have kicked on but it didn't. It was that the AA batteries in my thermostat were too low to set the signal. I replaced the batteries, shut the power off at the furnace, counted to 10, turned the power back on , and the system started working. If that doesn't work you may have a bad t-stat or a circuit board issue or a few other things...I would suggest calling a tech to help. Good luck.

    Hello I just got central air and heat installed in my house. However, I noticed water dripping from one of the refrigerant lines. Is this normal? And a lil water in front of it..

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  6 років тому

      The water on the lines is probably condensation. They should have wrapped those pipes with some insulation, but if they didn't as long as it's not a lot of water, you're probably not going to hurt anything. The water in the front depends on a how much and where it is coming from. The condensation coming off the coil above the heat exchanger does give off a lot of water but it should be running to a condensate pump of a floor drain.

    there is cold air instead of warm coming out of my condenser outside. what could that mean

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  7 років тому +1

      I'm assuming your system is a central air conditioner, not a heat pump. I wish this was an easy one that had only one possible solution. Unfortunately, it could be a couple of different things and most of them are not simple fixes. it could be your compressor isn't running and not circulating hot freon from the house. This is what contributes to the "warm" feeling blowing from the top. either way, I would recommend calling an HVAC company you trust out to look at it. Good luck, I hope you get it sorted out. If you want to come back and let us know what the problem was we'd love to hear it. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the video's! However, I have an issue, possibly caused by "over-loading" the AC system or " too much demand ". A 5 yr old caused my AC to 'freeze up', using "too much toilet paper". YUP! SHE did it! Here's HOW. 5 yr old, clogged my toilet. THEN, flushed. Toilet kept running, 'OVER-FLOWED', onto my bathroom floor! (insert "Another 'bleachable' moment" video here) This causes, "insurance claim". Remediation team comes out. 2 adjoining (un-insulated doors and attic) spaces either side of 2 floor (upstairs) bathroom are opened up and fans/ heaters/ dehumidifiers are placed along w/ the bathroom and hallway. (total of 4 dehumidifiers/ 6 fans) Doors to the attic spaces, either side of upstairs bathroom, are left open, in opposing 2 bedroom closets upstairs. basically, effectively, MORE than quadrupling the load on the AC from 500 square feet of area to be heated/ cooled to almost 2000 sq. ft. It's the 'end of April' 1st week of May. HOTTER than normal, of course! NOW, the AC system... KEEPS RUNNING to cool the area. SYSTEM is located (return air vent) directly outside the effected bathroom, in the hallway, at the top of the stairs. It gets hotter. Demand is sent to the system to RUN! System in 3rd attic space (not connected to the other 2) FREEZES UP. Fan is running, NO air flow due to ice blockage. System outside.. Keeps trying to do it's part of the demand. Get's HOT. Circuit board overheats. On/Off. On/Off (due to pressure switch). Voltage draw. (On/Off) Is UP/ DOWN. Capacitor fails/ circuit board fails. Downstairs system is NOW carrying the entire house.. PLUS the EXTRA attic spaces. $650+ later in repairs/ checkups/ service calls, on BOTH units. NOW, the 'debate' begins w/ the insurance company. IS THIS CAUSED BY OVER-FLOW/ REMEDIATION of the Insurance claim/ "Remediation" crews action(s)/ inactions. THEY left the doors open to the attic spaces, placing the 'uninsulated' / 'uncooled'/ temperature controlled areas ON THE SYSTEM, causing it to 'attempt' to 'keep up' w/ the demand on BOTH AC SYSTEMS. NOBODY seems to cover this because, 'it's NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. NOT just leaving 1 door open, but 2 doors, NOT to the outside of the house, but, to the OPEN ATTIC where I'm sure, temperatures were above 100 degrees, WITH heaters/ dehumidifiers/ fans. Thoughts?

    my bill ran up to $400 for the first month of turning on the A.C. I programmed it to Auto, at 78°. The 2nd month, same problem. Except now we had a pool and let the pump go on all night almost everyday. I am not sure what the problem is to be exact. We just moved in. Help pls. I'm desperate for answers and a resolution.

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  7 років тому

      That really sucks. I'm sorry you're dealing with that. An air conditioner will definitely drive up the bill in the summer and running pumps will have a similar effect. Motors draw a lot of power and the air and pool both use motors to function. If you have not had your Air Conditioner serviced since you have been in the house, it might be a good idea to have a NATE certified technician, from a reputable company you trust, come out and service your system. They should be able to tell it is it working properly. If the house is new and the previous owner neglected to maintain it, it could be using more energy than it needs to. If they say anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, don't' be afraid to ask them to leave and get a second opinion. Don't let them think they can take advantage of the situation because they think you are desperate. Good luck, keep me posted if you figure out what it is causing your problem. Thanks for the question.

    Can you show what could be happening when I heat gurgling when the ac is on.

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  8 років тому +2

      If you're hearing a gurgling sound inside, there's a good chance you have a clogged drain line, and the water from the condensation off of the evaporator coil isn't able to flow down the line. It probably just needs to be cleaned out. If you can't do it yourself an HVAC company should be able to get that taken care of for you. Thanks for the recommendation we will add this to the list of videos that we should make.

    hi I forget to change the filter so I don't feel the cooling . by the day I changed it still don't feel the cooling . it's only blowing fan . please help

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  7 років тому +1

      Hi Dimir, having a clean air filter doesn't necessarily help the temperature of the air, but the volume of air you're moving. It sounds like you may have another issue.
      You could try these maintenance tips ( ua-cam.com/video/MMY0Zi-sFPI/v-deo.html ), but if those don't help, it could be low refrigerant levels, a bad compressor, a clogged evaporator coil, or several other things. These are harder to diagnose on your own, and you may want to call a professional to service the unit.
      Wish I could be of more help--thanks for the question. Good luck!

    What if you're hiding money in the air vents like Walter White?

    • @Anyhourservices
      @Anyhourservices  5 років тому +1

      Haha, great comment! The amount he was hiding at that time was not enough to restrict the airflow enough to be concerned about. As long as he kept the money secure it was ok. But since he had it behind the filter, the money could have been drawn into the blower motor, and caused the system to malfunction, as well as destroy the fat stacks he was working so hard to save. Not to mention, this was probably the money he would have used to pay for a new furnace to replace the one he just messed up. It's great a good thing that he moved it to his crawlspace and then the storage unit. Thanks for watching.
