Thanks, found the same issue. Marked 33uf @ 25v capacitor. Pulled it out and tested it with a capacitor tester and it was testing more than 130uf. Only had a 33uf 55v cap on hand, but replaced it and the system is working again. After cleaning the buttons to bring those back to life, and greasing the CD tracks, it's good as new. Other videos instruct folks to replace the caps down by the power socket, but all of mine tested fine. Almost gave up on fixing the system. Mother in law is very happy. Thanks!
I hear ya, once you get ahold of those schematics you definitely have to hold onto them. Mine are in safe keepings. They are out there, you just have to find and buy them or find them for free.
Hey Friend, I have the exact same one.. But mines giving a very broken noise when playing music... I've also tried connecting without the woofer... And playing it directly on another speaker... And.. Still it's the same broken noisy music.... Could you please help

Hi there , I have a Bose Lifestyle 12 Series 2, The Media Center is sending static/ scratching sounds to the subwoofer and cube speakers, would you know how to fix it ? Is there capacitors which need replacing ? All the cables are secure, I dont believe it is a wiring problem
Hi there. Many thanks for your video. Very interesting. Just out of curiosity, did you check what DC voltage was actually across the offending capacitor when it was working incase of a misprint on the schematic schematic? Kind regards Allan.
Depending which schematics you have some show output values while others do not. The ones I have show both depending on the rails. The ones that do not I make my own log for future references. When it comes to these units I am not looking at voltage values in this particular situation. I am looking at the CAPS value and the ESR value. My troubleshooting approach will vary depending on the unit and the fault at hand. Kind regards Lisa
Great job Lisa good to see you still repairing as well :) 100% on the caps as well thats exactly right what you said.
Thanks Fixingthingz4u! Troubleshooting/Repairing are in my blood. I'm not going anywhere. Glad to see you as well.
Great job Lisa. I was just donated the Lifestyle 8 Series. I need to track down the schematic for that now. Thank you for taking the time to share. :)
Nice work 👍

Hi Mrs Lisa, I have 2 lifestyle 5 no power can you repair them for me?
Very nicely done. I was wondering where you can find a schematic for this unit? I had one years ago, but cannot find it.

I got mine shows just about 3v on jack pin when connected to normal 14v adapter. any clue?
