I unfortunately have no money and Jedi survivor if cheaper might break my moral code about spending money on video games but in UK it's like 80 quid at best so nope
Now that I think about it Cal is one of the few Jedi to escape a face to face encounter with Vader
by sheer dumb luck as well. dude got lucky he had the water to his advantage to help distract vader. if they were above ground. cal would be dead right now. im willing to bet we encounter vader again

I find it so funny that there's beheading in a PG-rated movie but we can't do beheading video game. The film versus game rating boards are wild and what can be allowed and what isn't
It’s because the beheading is off camera or heavily implied, if it’s on screen due to it either being an already dead character normally a zombie or something else. Off camera typically involves a shadow showing a head falling off but not fully showing the head afterwards. If it was fully shown to be cut off with and afterwards showing the head, it’s R.

3:20 also you can slightly see in the Phantom Menace whenever Obi-Wan slices Darth Maul in half there’s a slight red mist coming from the bottom half of the screen, which undoubtedly was another scene in which blood was “shown”
Dismemberment seems to be similar to the force unleashed 2 which i like!
@@benjamingross9553 those classic games were the best when Disney took everything became family friendly too family friendly in my opinion.
I really like how Cal's mannerisms and the way he moves and does stuff in the clips just makes him seem older I don't know why but if you watch like combat and dialogue from the first game and then combat and dialogue from the second game he just seems like a more well put together and mature person in this game
well i sure hope so that he's older considering this takes place 5 years after the events of fallen order

i really like the violence in these games, personally. when you're part of an endangered group of people, you're going to have to be more deadly to survive. I like how this part of storytelling has been woven into gameplay

I'm super pumped for dismemberment! It was one of the things I wanted from the first game. I wish it was a bit more gorey at times (think Shadow of War finishers), but I'm happy with where it is, and I understand why they want a teen rating, even if I don't think it matters much.
I love shadow of war and I really wish this game would have some more brutal finshing moves/heavy attacks

Honestly if it were up to me I would choose to add dismemberment like this game has, but keep a T rating.
But not having it didn't bother me at all. I don't really get people who make such a big deal out of it. As you say they act like they can't enjoy a game if there isn't enough violence in it, which is silly.
You don't want a game too sanitized either, though. But I don't think Fallen Order was.
I also see the argument that it feels more like a lightsaber. But the lack of dismemberment on human bodies wasn't something to complain about for me.
Yeah, people are weird.
i dont mind lack of violence but it does play a more useful role in that it makes the danger of a lightsaber more believeable, not in a realistic sense but in a immersive in this universe sense. if its able to cut through futuristic high grade metal doors but not slice a persons arm off it hurts your idea of it as "its destructive power is inconsistent feeling, like occasionally it wants to lie to me"

Another reason why the sequel trilogy is not Star Wars Canon: Nobody gets a hand/arm cut off. It’s an unspoken rule that a Skywalker Saga film has to include a dismemberment. So glad that the devs are incorporating this Star Wars staple into Jedi Survivor!

Darth Maul's dismemberment also had a spray of blood.
If they'd made it an option, that'd allow the game to remain consistent with its predecessor.
They need to add proper dismemberment as like a $2 DLC. That way it’s not exploitative, but it’s definitely something a parent would notice in the cart when buying the game for a kid (or at least it _should_ be a good enough reason for Disney and LucasArts to allow it imo).
Edit: the main reason I am saying this is because, contrary to popular belief, a DLC can have a higher rating than a game of it is more graphic/intense/adult than the base game.

It's just more realistic, I personally think it's a positive. Even with Fallen Order, I installed a mod that made dismemberment possible.

I mean come on it’s a light saber and the worst you’re going to do is leave a burn mark on a storm trooper? Ya but even in this game you are only cutting off arms and legs on humans. No cutting off heads or cutting people in half. If they do the dismemberment that graphic it would have to be put at a higher rating.
Weird though how we allow slicing heads off on the animals like it's nothing lol, in the first game too you could slice the animals no problem.

interestingly in the UK, fallen order got a PEGI 16 rating, where as Survivor has a PEGI 12 rating even though survivor is more violent

Well, it makes the game more realistic. Otherwise the lightsaber looks or works like a lightstick… I‘m understanding disneys family policy but in that case or franchise it makes no sense. So if they have to take over everything or buying very cool franchise so they need to overthink their policy, I guess. And for a game with age rating from 16 it is okay cutting off legs and arms. Looking forward to play jedi survivor.
My dream is one day we'll get a Star Wars game with dismemberment on the level of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

@@HettycTracyn It's a solid question, most people don't realize too that it's only legs and arms being cut off. No heads being cut off or bodies being cut in half. If they implement that on humans the rating will have to be higher.
Its arround Force Unleashed 2 level brutal, maybe more so. Force Unleashed 1 wasnt actually all that brutal because even though you hate many painful ways to kill enemies, there was no blood or dismemberment. Force Unleashed 2 had dismemberment and creative ways to kill enemies. Jedi Fallen Order has none of the above but more combat features. Jedi Survivor has dismemberment, creative kills and very expansive combat.
