What pisses me off about Mando season 3 was of course bringing back IG-11. But the self destruction was from his chest. So how in the hot and crispy Kentucky fried frick is his chest fully in tact on his memorial???
Oh boy, I hope you stopped watching fast because I saw WAY dumber crap before I quit watching.
Bringing in the droid was the least stupid thing of that season from what I saw.
@@sawdust8691 I lost interest but still watch it anyways
disney magic
@@sawdust8691 Season 3 episode 3 was the biggest waste of time in my life this year I didn't even get past 10 minutes before I stopped watching
Not to mention the entire season was garbage
I feel like we need a game that’s a mix of the skywalker saga and Jedi survivor, like we could have the combat that we have in the Jedi games but we can play all the movies
We need Knights of the Old Republic 3
@@Soup-manoh hell yeah
Just play the movie missions in Force Unleashed PSP
Imagine this: A show or a movie rated R (violence, blood, and language) about a clone trooper (CT-4878 or any random clone). They go into detail about his training and being raised on Kamino, how tough and the struggles they endured in the training. Explore the deep bond that him and his squad have with each other and in their first battle have one of members of the squad die. This is a wakeup call for our main character and shows the true nature of war in the eyes of a regular clone trooper, how they are just made to be "expendable". Show the mental toll this takes on the clones and keep them in battles the rest of the time. Show the crappy conditions that they must go through along with losing countless brothers along the way. This show/movie could almost resemble "Saving Private Ryan" in the mood, tone, and overall theme of it.
Being a Star Wars fan in 2023 is like bitter sweet. We got the occasional good game/tv show while the other half have been nothing but hype and disappointment
Being a Star Wars fan post Disney purchase period is painful.
It's been great for me, just avoid all disney content and read the old comics. Ulic Qel-Droma on top!
Thanks! Forgot I had those.@@neonthunder3261
For me it was just dissapointment, there are some cool figures for Legions atleast coming

Jedi Survivor was genuinely so much fun for me I loved how it expanded such a small portion of the galaxy it was great! So much better than the rest of the shit they shoved out
I’ve been thinking of getting Jedi Survivor since it’s on sale rn, would it be worth it if I got it?
@@Ithoughthewasnigh as long as you have a PC that can handle a larger game for SURE. I thought the storyline was really interesting. Survivor does have some frame rate issues but if you lower your graphics to medium (it really makes no difference the game is beautiful) it runs fine
It and Fallen Order even felt like a bit of a direct continuation of the prequels era, which was one of the main appeals for me.
@@jt6924 I agree w that I think that’s why it was enjoyable to me. Just overall nostalgia for the prequels and what happened directly after order 66

I loved Jedi Survivor! So, much fun and the story telling was awesome.
Yeah, as a story in the Star Wars universe, fantastic. It was just bad game-wise because of the bugs at launch. No excuse for that.
@@dfed324still existing bugs/performance issues*
I hope they add the fallen order lightsaber parts soon, feels odd when I know I can't select anything from fallen order in survivor.
@@sutarn_gamer4159 oh wow, they still haven't fixed that? Damn shame.
@@dfed324 they will probably not work on the game ever again, they aren’t even trying
One thing I didn't like about Mando episode 6 is that Mando wasn't angry enough with the super battle droids, the same model that killed his family. Sure, he was mad a bit, but he should've been more off and awkward and angry towards the droids
Hi Andrew I’ve been watching you for now Atleast two to three years and I love your vid and it’s crazy how much your channel grown
I enjoyed the 5th Indiana Jones movie just because Harrison Ford looked like he was finally happy again which is all I need
yeah and indy being a grumpy grandpa was so funny
I thought the Mandalorian jack black episode felt like a Lego Star Wars side quest, and although it works in the game, it really didn’t work for me in this situation.
I genuinely think one of the biggest issues with Disney Star Wars besides the heavy handed politics is that it has no balls. They are too cowardly to try anything different or kill any characters off.
You must not have heard about George Lucas's political views...by comparison Disney is pretty tame. Oh wait you guys think political means women. Got it
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 why are you saying this to me? Have you completely ignored what the director of the Rey movie said a couple days ago? Like come on dude you can’t tell me that Star Wars isn’t seething with “All Men Are Trash” energy.
@@Nopquar And I sincerely doubt it's gonna amount to anything in the actual movie beyond a vague girl power message, which is enough to piss you weirdos off. Is she wrong to want to make men angry in an era where Andrew Tate is famous? Where Elon allows rampant unchecked misogyny on Twitter? Johnny Depp supporters think every woman lies about abuse? Major industries are constantly getting exposed for their massive abuse of women behind closed doors? World leaders demean women openly and brag about sexually assaulting them? Femicide is increasing? Young boys are constantly being groomed into being incels by shitty memes?

I love the fact you add the Glowing Popsicle in the thumbnail
Fun fact: in Jedi survivor if you wander for a while, a rancor will come out of nowhere in the explorable area and could happen 2 times because it happened to me two times.

I agree, a game solely about the Clone Wars would be amazing, following a battalion of clones, going ti new planets and existing planets, would be amazing, sort of like mando s1 where they go on a whole bunch of adventures but there is an overarching story as well
Also, the ending to the season was beautiful and I got to say I wasn't too disappointed. I feel like the Mandalorian was also a hit and miss. Episodes both good, and bad. and when I mean bad, I mean like, bad to worst. There were some really cool stuff and I got to say they were awesome. Can't complain.
Ok, unpopular opinion, but I really want Grogu to die in season 4, or in that mando / ahsoka movie, if that ever happens. I know he is pretty much the only reason Disney is still making the series, and I know it’s a big reason for why people watch the show, but I feel like mando truly being a lone wolf, and grogu dying in a heroic way (which is like the one thing Disney manages to do) would be really good, and would also show that Disney is willing to take some risks. It would also be a great way of ending the Mandalorian series.
Nuh uh, Mando should die and grogu should go on
Disney will never do that he is their biggest source of income lmao
Well, they need to do something that's for sure.
They freaking ruined their own shows big season 2 finale and took over have of a different show just to shove Grogu back in. So I don't think he's ever going anywhere. Unfortunately.
I don't know how they can fix it. They should have left Grogu completely after Season 2 and turned to the rebuilding Mandalore stuff. Too bad we can't fix the past, now I don't know what they can do other than drag on as long as possible.
oh you poor fool, Disney isn't willing to take risks
I've avoided Star Wars entirely the last few years. Not played the games, read the books, or watched the shows and movies. What I have done, rather consistently, is picked up details from reactions, and I gotta say... doesn't seem like I'm missing out on anything special.
Honestly Jedi Survivor is probably the only bit of content worth visiting.
The only things worth your time are the games and maybe the Andor show. Those are some genuinely good peices of media and what Star Wars should be.
As for the rest, ya you're not missing anything special at all. Actually you're saving yourself from some of the blandest media ever made.
Play Knights of the Old Republic
Tales of the Jedi, Bad Batch, the Jedi games, and Andor are all great
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69visions is quite good, think Vol 2 is better than Vol 1 and there are some good episodes that aren't mentioned here like the 'Spy Dancer' which does feel like it has an andor vibe of non jedi users fighting the empire in tough scenarious but with a bit of inspiration of WW2 French resistance and it uses some of the core themes of star wars and does it in it's own way
The thumbnail tho😂😂
Merry Christmas Andrew!
Thank god cals a jedi or it would be extremely painful carrying a whole franchise on your back 😂❤
All of the shows that came out were just ok to me. I remember really looking forward to every episode of mando season 1 and 2, but after a few episodes of 3 I lost that excitement. Ashoka was alright i guess, but a lot of it was just kinda cringe and didn't care all that much. The episode with Anakin and clone wars was sort of neat, but it was just fan service and didn't really add much to the plot.
I was only able to watch the first episode of Ashoka before I just quit because I was so irritated like how Sabine a mandalorian was a jedi in traint considering the fact that there was only one ever Mandalorian jedi and also the fact that Sabine isn’t wearing her armor even though she’s a mandalorian and their armor is basically their life and not many of them take it off they even establish this in many scenarios
I hear what you're saying and I agree her being a Jedi is very random, but she does go on to wear her armor for the rest of the show after the first episode. Guess they were trying to say she was too depressed to wear it before then or something. 🤷🏻♀️
Well, be happy you quit so soon.
If those minor questions and problems are enough to bug you, I'll warn you that the show... well it doesn't get better that's for sure.
I quit after I think 3 episodes.
I’m with Andrew. Hits and misses this year. But definitely better than the disastrous 2022 with tales of the Jedi being the only thing worth watching, oh shit and Andor sorry. Andor and tales. Boba and Kenobi were just that bad it kept 2022 low for me
I loved the Ahsoka series so much
Really enjoyed this video cheers mate ❤
Great video, Andrew!
Agreed with Jack and Lizzo's miscast cameos in Mando S3 as the worst ever this year.
Horrible. An absolute slap in the face to fans. Mando season 1 was great, then it fell off.
The main thing i hate about star wars in 2023 is the fact that they just fucking decided that sabine is now force sensitive, they made it very clear in rebels that she does not have the force
10:48 noo Cordova! My favorite Jedi!!
The best episodes of TBB S2 were the Crosshair episodes and the finale. Anyone else agree?
In my thoughts, bad batch was great (clone wars had fillers too), Mandalorian S3 was good but the ending was rushed and it didn't make me very excited to watch it. Jedi Survivor was amazing ignoring the bugs and performance (I blame ea for forcing them to release an untested game)
Lastly I actually think Ahsoka was really well written and I loved watching it, however I agree giving sabine the force soured her character for me as through rebels she was always my favourite. I think having her be able to fight for herself without using the force would have been a lot more impactful. All the actors in the show did a great representation of their characters especially the man who played Ezra.
I think people just focus on the small things they hate and make a decision from that, or get disappointed when they create expectations. You can't be disappointed if you don't have any expectations to begin with
It was definitely a mixed bag.
I was disappointed by Mando S3, I was appropriately hyped about Jedi: Survivor, and I had mixed feelings about Bad Batch & Ahsoka.
I didn’t watch Young Jedi Adventure but im sure that I will watch it if/when I have a child lol.
Next year we are getting The Bad Batch S3, The Acolyte, Tales of the Jedi S2 and Skeleton Crew - I hope that 2024 keeps completely consistent better than this year
At this point I've given up on modern Star Wars. I started Knights of the Old Republic and it rekindled my love for Star Wars. The EU is so much better
I do feel like the Mandalorian season 3 was defiantly lacking, but even though the final episode wasn't the best it could be it was defiantly a fun spectacle to watch.
but the downgrade is what made us now wanna watch it anymore lol
Definitely*
8:50 jump scared me, but in a hood way
18:13 I think Sabine did the right thing because it’s about family, not the galaxy. I know Thrawn is back in the main universe but everything is going to be alright except… somehow Palpatine returned.
Nope
I see what you're seeing, but I can't get behind it.
I'd say it was what she wanted more obviously. But it was NOT the right decision. Absolutely freaking not.
She undermined Ezras sacrifice, she threw her masters trust out the window again, and basically sold out an entire galaxy to a warlord all at once. Just because she wanted to see her friend.
You can argue on WHY she would make such an insane decision in the moment. Why her character would do that, sure.
But it absolutely was not the right decision.
It should have been an absolutely massive character weakness that caused a lot of conflict with everyone else and with herself.
But since these shows are super bland a stupid, it's just brushed off by everyone.
Everything this year was disappointing to me. The only things I really enjoyed were Jedi Survivor and Ahsoka
Really? I mean Jedi Survivor I get, but Ahsoka over Bad Batch S3? ok
@@marcogonzalez9673I have barely seen mentions of visions and Vol 2 is continuing it very strongly
2:39 "Oobie Doobie Binoobie" Had me dying! 🤣
18:44 it’s probably Ahsoka. But maybe emotions are necessary to make the Force happen.
Mandalorian season 3 made me want to end it all.
Can't believe they managed to mess it up that bad.
Exactly they must have hijacked and destroyed the real plot
What was so good about the show at all besides it being so overrated
15:18 I was thinking the exact same thing
If you want more clone wars content highly recommend contractors vr with the clone wars mod.
Wow, forgot all this all happened in 2023. Thanks for the recap man.
Is that a lightsaber lillypop on the thumbnail 😂😂
Rex having his elbow armor on backwards triggered me so much XD
This video should have been 2 words to answer the title, fever dream
Episode 2 was one of the biggest issues of Mando S3.
The only reason why it exists is to fully introduce one of Gideons loyalists, who will only appear again in one other episode with short screen time.
And also to show what happened to the scientists, who won’t appear for the rest of the season.
Overall, a lot of the episode was mostly irrelevant and didn’t even fit with the mandalorian
the coruscant episode is when I gave up on Mando. Jedi Survivor is proving to be such a slog to get through, really think they over-did it with parkour sections. lol. I know, I know, "get good" but I just want to use my powers in big fights instead of all the running around lol
The clone wars show honestly revolutionized and progressed star wars to an incredible degree it didnt expand the ideas of the force and the clones and jedi it full on fukcing revolutionised everything. Without that show nothing we get today would be the same. Focusing on that era saved star wars and indirectly led to rebels mandalorian bobf ahsoka kenobi. Revisiting that era for more projects going back to that era is star wars best move to recover after a couple rocky years. Hot take maybe but its true
I always saw it as the Force being channeled in desperation
I think that Ahsoka was great. Aside from some characters that made the jump from animation to live action, I really liked Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. We don't usually see true Dark Jedi who aren't trying to dress up like Sith freaks as the Inquisitors do. Pity Ray Stevenson passed away because I was really looking forward to seeing more of him.
7:52 oo yes that one ;]
Why hadn't Bo Katan gone there in the first place?
Because as anyone that knows anything about Star Wars and the Mandalorians knows, the Mandalorians are highly superstitious? To the point as literally is explored through season 3 to anyone that isn't just hate watching, is a really big part of what keeps tearing the Mandalorians apart from the inside out over and over again?
I completely forgot mando s3 even came out this year😂
Honestly the biggest letdown for me in Ashoka was the Ezra return/reveal. As a huge fan of Rebels I had been desperately wanting to see the next part of the story for the past 5 years. I imagined so many epic ways they could bring Ezra back and the kind of powers he’s had and the things he’s experienced. Yet he largely felt like the same character and if anything felt kind of weak, even when compared to Sabine which should most certainly not be the case. I was also extremely underwhelmed by their reunion. Building up to that moment there was so much emphasis on how much Sabine wanted to find Ezra and how much she cared about him. She hadn’t seen him in years and yet their reunion consisted of casual banter and a hug??? I expected a lot more emotion from that reunion. I also thought Ezra would have a much grander return than him just chilling in a village of small creatures. Like have him show up to save the day during a battle or something, put a little more dramatic flair on it. I guess I just had my expectations too high but waiting 5 years for that reveal/reunion just felt extremely underwhelming for me.
The Mandalorian (at the end of season 3) is on his plot of land given to him by Greef Karga on Nevarro... FYI.
1:54 “I think that’s this problems show”
Mando season 3 be like: somehow IG-11 returned. 😂😂
Where's IG-88 when ya need him?
3:28 is funny tho
Survivor was the best thing we got by a long shot... its back must hurt so bad
2:26 anything with omega is peak Star Wars. Agree to disagree! 😅😂
1:54 lol
I wish that thrawn and Ezra weren’t just chilling on a planet for like 15 years, I don’t know what I wanted but not really that. Still a great show though
That really puzzled me. All these years on the same planet and neither Thrawn nor Ezra bothered to search for each other. Especially Thawn, with what he had on hand.
If they do a sequel for the new Star wars outlaws game setting during clone wars would perfect !!
AND WE NEED A PART 2 FOR THE '100 ways to die in star wars jedi survivor'
The clip of pedro going “I’m your daddy” took me too of guard man
I have watched since bro did battlefront 2 good times
Bad Batch S2 was really fun, I genuinely enjoyed it a lot more than a lot of the other stuff (except Survivor but I only just got that so...). One nitpick I have with it and Star Wars as a whole is that they weren't willing to go dark. I was really hoping and thinking that Cody wasn't going to leave the Empire. I was in fact really hoping we got a Cody vs Rex fight that would result in Cody's death. If that had happened nobody would be expecting it, it works so well story wise (because it would explain why Rex left the fight) and it would give Star Wars that darkness it doesn't seem to have.
I really didn't like Mando S3. It's like they've gotten rid of all the good stuff about Mando for fan service that fans don't really want. (If they want to give Fan service they should do so by making good content.) The best part was that one shot with R5 that was literally done with some action figures...at least it looks so.
I've only had Jedi: Survivor since Christmas...but I have no complaints. This thing is perfect.
I watched Indiana Jones with a group of my friends and we all agreed that we never saw it. It was that bad.
By the time Ahsoka came out, I had given up on new Star Wars content (except a couple of things like Andor S2) so I didn't watch it. But from everything I've heard...I'm kinda glad I didn't.
18:55: THATS NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS- | Me: Yeah, you need to practice it
I love the Bad Batch there's nothing bad in it to me I just love all of it
Same
I'm really sad I got spoiled on Jedi Survivor. Didn't expect I'd get to play it this year, so I watched a few Videos around release.
Mando 3 was just painful
Ahsoka had me perplexed because it's obviously a Rebels sequel. The narrative isn't driven by Ahsokas backstory, motives or dilemmas. It's also weird how Thrawn is like "oh the jedi are so unpredictable" when literally the whole saga has been about how easy it is to fool the Jedi.
On a contrary. His line was the jedi were so predictable. Said after Ahsoka did something (right now I can't recall what exactly) he new she would. And that was the reason he wanted to know who her master was. To know how to deal with her.
honestly the whole series felt so messy
‘That’s this problem’s show’
- Andrew 2023
Andor is the most underrated Star Wars show ever released
This ^^^^^ Did it start slow, yes, but the last episodes and the entire series writing and directing were amazing, especially the writing. That prison break gave me a new hate for the empire and I don't tend to hate "sci-fi" as in good guys but they found a way to do it. Season 2 should be out this August.
It's overrated just like the mandalorian
@@Misery7531 considering the quality of recent series, yes, it is. It's also hard to be overrated when it has the lowest number of people that watched it. More people watched Boba Fett than this. If anything, it's underrated.
I don't think Vader should've been in Ahsoka, Anakin? sure, but having him turn into Vader was kind of . . . eh. At the end of Rotj, we see him wearing regular Jedi robes, symbolizing his pure return as a Jedi. I think it would've been cool for him to be wearing those same robes to help Ahsoka with her problem of guilt, by showing her that in the end she is a good person, have her see flashbacks of times in the clone war where she did GOOD. Maybe also tell her that if HE could be good even after he was Darth Vader, then she has nothing to worry about and that she shouldn't hold any guilt or burden for what *Palpatine* did to the galaxy.
My god I forgot about the cursed Jim Henson style alien romance episode. Wtf were they thinking.
Ahsoka was my favorite show from this year, but the stab that Sabine got shocked me because she is one of my favorite characters. She was my favorite in Rebels, and she has so much backstory to her. But the stab wound was really unnecessary.. 💀 glad she lived, nevertheless.
She was so reckless this season. She really cared for Ezra, whether you feel like it’s a brother relationship, or something more. Cant wait for season 2.. hopefully!
Young Jedi adventures is fun for my son to watch and it’s more entertaining than micky mouse club house. So that’s gonna be a win for me.
also there were 2 story updates in SWTOR!
‘’ you need to role over and die’’ is hilarious
9:29 lol and i only got it now
In 2023, Star Wars to me felt all over the place. No direction, just content - and far too much of it. And always the feeling "please, be good"! Not expecting anything great, I was just content with it being okay.
My personal highlight this year honestly was meeting Boba Fett himself - Temuera Morrison. What a guy, such energy and radiating strength and positive vibes! What Disney does to him is, at least to me, nothing short of a crime. But who am I?
Right now, I am just waiting for the whole Disney thing to finally break down. Then Star Wars hopefully will be carried on by somebody more worthy and more knowledgeable.
You’d think a lightsaber would burn your insides so badly there’d be no recovery from it unless your Wolverine or something..
They need to make like a Star Wars clone wars battles based purely on the battles like ryloth and just have a series of that
Jedi Survivor was THE BEST in years.

Overall thoughts about Star Wars in 2023.
1. Absolutely loved Ahsoka. Is my opinion biased because she is my favorite character? Yes. Do i give a shit? Absolutely not!
2. The bad batch season 2 absolutely ripped my heart out. "Sniff"
Episodes 3 and 12 were some of THE best Star Wars stories in recent years.
3. Jedi survivor is the sequel to one of my favorite games ever, so that pretty much speaks for itself.
4. I would love to go back and re-watch Visions season 2 again but if i had to pick I'd probably go with "Screechers reach" as my favorite episode.
