Finished with this poncho and it turned out great. I went into this project blind, as the video does not give clear size instructions. Hope the following helps. This poncho will fit anyone who wears a small or medium. Start with a go foundation chain of 94, continue all the way to the top till your one rectangular piece is 30 inches in length and 18 inches in width. Then replicate another rectangle which is 30 inches in length and 18 inches in width. Sew both of them together as shown in the video.
I used this tutorial to make a tan poncho for me in 2019, it worked out so beautifully and I wear it all the time in the fall/ winter! I get so many compliments whenever I wear it and just recently sold a poncho to my very first client! So excited for what's to come and very grateful for this channel.
I get it in my mind and I think I can do it,taught myself to crochet aged 11yrs,now 59yrs but now days one eye sight after 1st haemorrgh, yet still crocheting, but I only learn new crochet from seeing how its done, thank you x

I made one for my 5 year old granddaughter using Metallic Viscose. 49 chain stitches by 49 rows and 4 mm needle. It turned out beautiful she loved it! Thank you for uploading instructions. Cheers from Australia :D
Thank you for this tutorial. I followed it blindly and made an exact piece for myself. This was the first time I picked up a big crocheting project and it came out perfectly. Took me 10 days to complete though.❤️❤️
I love how you explain. It's very clear and detailed. It's so easy for a beginner like me to follow along. Thank you! I'm currently crocheting this but with 3 different colors. I hope it will turn out as lovely as yours. 😊
I love this tutorial. I have one rectangle finished and on row 18 on the second rectangle. This will be my poncho. I have had this yarn forever and had no idea what to do with the yarn.
I just finished the 2 panels, joined them and the poncho is as big as a twin sized bed. I don't know what I did wrong because the panels are just beautiful. Each finished panel turned out to be 24" wide and 50 " long. They are huge. I am very discouraged because I put so much time into this. I guess I will rip it all out and reduce the number of stitches to get panels that are 15" by 30". I was really looking forward to wearing this for the weekend.
you did a wonderful job explaining this! O....M...G... i hv been struggling with a poncho counting over and over. dear Lord it doesnt have to be so difficult. im changing course right now.

Christiana, I wouldn’t complain if I were you, but you’re not disabled. Since I was never on maternity leave, I worked my butt off for many years. I can’t have children cause I finished menopause. I don’t like special woman. And I am sure that you have the nerve to call a woman with a psychiatric disability a retard. So I don’t know how to treat hateful pregnant women cause I just dealt with one. I am stressed out with my life. I own what I own. I am not a gold digger. When you showed us the first rectangle finished up, I thought that would make a lovely wrap if you just made a long rectangle. 💕 By the way, that yarn is gorgeous.
I’ve made 2 of these ponchos using the yarn she used, in green and blue - I never ordered the pink that she’s using, because Walmart started selling it! It’s like $4 per skein, called “Lion Brand Coboo” and it’s seriously gorgeous, very easy to work with. So. Around the 7:45 mark just after the first "lace row" she says make sure you don't DC into the "turning chain" - I've found it's impossible (mathematically) to keep a consistent count on the DC rows (66 stitches) unless I DO DC into that turning chain at the end of the "lace row." . I'm on row 8 now and it's looking straight, consistently 66 stitches on my DC rows (65 stitches on my "lace rows". So weird, it really doesn't look like she's stitching into that turning chain in the beginning, but at the end when she's showing us how to stitch it all together you can tell that she has. I frogged 3 rows 3 times before I decided to go ahead and DC into that turning chain at the end of every "lace row."
You are making the medium right? if someone is making the small they should have 62 stitches right? i am confused bc my thing keeps growing and getting more stitches, and i dont know why. it's my first time following a pattern.

Your written pattern at M/L is CH 46 - you are saying in this tutorial CH 69... if we CH 51 the pattern indicates for 2XL/3XL - I am sorry but when your tutorial says CH 69 - what sizing is this for … am confused … sorry.
Written pattern says sizing is listed XS/S, M/L, XL/2X, 3X,4X example 36 (41, 46, 51) but under Panel says *Make 2 Ch 65 (69, 73, 77) I believe you're referring to the example how to read the sizing...M/L is chain 69
I finally finished the poncho and it came out way too big and I used a smaller hook because I tend to crochet loose. Plus I used the jean yarn. I had to do some extra rows and decrease around the neck. Now on to the fringe. It's way to long but I'll still rock it lol
Hi Melissa Connor sorry to hear that. I was able to wear mine. It was longer than anticipated and I was able to bring in the neck line. Do you plan to try it again? I'm doing another one using a smaller hook.

Thankyou so much for this. I found it really easy to follow and am so happy with my poncho
Bello, bello me encanta gracias 😘😘😘
Your written pattern at M/L is CH 46 - you are saying in this tutorial CH 69... if we CH 51 the pattern indicates for 2XL/3XL - I am sorry but when your tutorial says CH 69 - what sizing is this for … am confused … sorry.
Written pattern says sizing is listed XS/S, M/L, XL/2X, 3X,4X example 36 (41, 46, 51) but under Panel says *Make 2 Ch 65 (69, 73, 77)
I believe you're referring to the example how to read the sizing...M/L is chain 69
Jenny Van Grondelle l
Jenny Ibarra can you tell me how many chains for a M/L? Thank you. How long were your panels?
This is the first project I've completed😊
Thank you
So cute❤️💖
It's beautiful. You are not crazy. It looks like a heart to me
how many grams of yarn do we need? Is 500 grams enough???
I don't know..Did you do it yet? I wanna know too
I crocheted this in size xs/s using less than 200g of yarn
Beautiful and easy to remember. Started with the pattern and hoping to see it finishes as beautiful as yours.
I finally finished the poncho and it came out way too big and I used a smaller hook because I tend to crochet loose. Plus I used the jean yarn. I had to do some extra rows and decrease around the neck. Now on to the fringe. It's way to long but I'll still rock it lol
sassy21gg I just finished mine. Was supposed to be a small size and it is gigantic! I won’t be able to wear it.
Hi Melissa Connor sorry to hear that. I was able to wear mine. It was longer than anticipated and I was able to bring in the neck line. Do you plan to try it again? I'm doing another one using a smaller hook.
sassy21gg Yes, I’ll try again. It is very pretty and easy to work up. I’ll try a smaller hook and I’ll also measure it as I go along this time. I’ll see if this one fits one of my very tall friends lol
Made A second one, love this pattern, no fringe.
the sizing is off the size she shows here is a LG for sure not a med I'm going to give it another go it did turn out nice just to big I had to decrease around neck also no fringe it was long enough I made next size up and it was huge
Looks super cute! This will be the first poncho I’ve ever made and look forward to buying the yarn and getting started!!
beautiful style and color.
Thank you so much for this Easy Tutorial, I made my Poncho with the Caron Latte Cakes Yarn, is so soft and Warm...I love it!
I did have a little issue trying to figure out the right measurements for my size, but I figured it out at the end :) Thank You!!
Hello Maria, can you tell me how you figured out the measurement? I am here stuck too.
Muy bonito pero podrían explicar en español las medidas por fabor
I love this poncho and I love it even more because it is the Ava poncho. I have a granddaughter named Ava!
