I know the manuals say what you do is right but something very important to know is that most times the oil display level will ONLY show the last reading... you need a good 15 minutes of driving at operating temp to get a actual accurate updated reading. These cars oil level sensors are pretty odd/finicky like that. I think it only detects large oil changes so for example after a full oil change in my case it shows the accurate level but if I top up my oil for example by 1L or 500ML, I will need to drive to get an updated reading and other people on forums have faced this issue.

Would the car sat idling for say 30 min not provide an accurate reading?
