      @@karldingbat I've got 3 Oriental knock-offs and none of them shut down when the stat tells them it's warm enough - you can turn them al the way down but they still pump fuel unless you switch them off. My D4 goes on standby 'till the temp drops then kicks in and winds up the temp. again.
      Gave up on the Commie rubbish 'cause the electronics are so cheap n nasty, just throwing mystery fault codes and one replacement motor just stopped for I don't know what but the pump kept banging fuel into the burn chamber. Just lucky I was there to pull the power!

    That ECU board also works with the Blue screen this is the setup I have got on all 3 of my chinese diesel heaters two 5kw and one 2 kw, you may need to change the settings on the lcd special settings menu if you get one the blue screens come with an lcd remote which gives you ambient temp in the room, core temp of the heater and manual to automatic controls and Hz settings in manual mode or temp settings in automatic mode and they cost about £35 for the blue screen and lcd remote with the readout screen. have you also mconsidered running it on kerosene its a lot cheaper I add 25ml of good quality 2 stroke oil to 25 litres of kerosene to lube the pump. it burns hotter by about 15 degrees C , burns cleaner no smoke at all and ignites faster than diesel, the pumps are also quieter than runing on diesel, kero in the UK is currently £108.00 per litre plus vat. as the fuel burns hotter and is thinner than diesel you tend to loose about 7 mins burn time per tank full but the cost saving is very good. lots of people on youtube report running on Kerosene for the last 3 years without any issues. you can also run at very low Hz consistantly and shut down at low Hz without the need for high Hz settings to heat the burn chamber up before shutdown I had white smoke issues on one heater running on diesel and rebuilding it didnt make any difference now it runs on kerosene without any issues what so ever. mixing Kero with the last dregs of diesel in the tank can make the exhaust a bit smelly and you will see a little smoke from the exhaust as the burn chamber is cleaned out once on full kerosene but future Kerosene only burns are very clean at startup and the smell soon goes away completely.

    • @karldingbat
      @karldingbat  Рік тому +1

      I always try to use kerosene when possible but i find it prohibitively expensive £35 for 25 litres i dont know where to find it cheaply, if i could i would use it as it burns cleaner but has a slightly lower calorific value than diesel so the heater burns more for the same heat output.

I have attached the four pin one to a new Chinese glow plug that already had a four pin plug on it, but I'm not sure which connector to fit the temp sensor and fan to, as they both look the same and the temp sensor will fit on either connection point on the board. On the Chinese heaters apparently the thermostatic control can be turned off and you can set it for constant heat and fan speed. This I have been told works on the older non digital controller. Holding down the two outer arrow buttons for a few seconds turns the blue led to red or vice versa. I'm wondering if this also works on the older eberspacher D2 controller.
    I have that controller but haven't tried yet, I'll give it a try later today.

      To reset the heater, you need to completely disconnect any power to it and leave for about 10 minutes i normally leave disconnected for 30 mins then reconnect and try to restart, if it starts turning and just blows cold air for about 5 mins, either the ecu is faulty, or battery power is to low.

    • @karldingbat
      @karldingbat  3 роки тому +3

      Yes you can use a chinese timer, you need to use the time output wire as the control signal, i think its the yellow wire from the 701 but dont take my word for it, im still investigating this option. Once i get a working eberspacher ecu i will post a vid. On more thing though, you will need to use a chinese overheat sensor on the main burner body as the eberspacher is 3 wire, you need the 2 wire Chinese 1 its a direct replacement and only cost about a fiver.

    Very Interesting I have added this to my playlist on these heaters, fyi the D4+ (iirc) has one magnet on the fan but the D4 has 2 (or at least the one I bought did) so the controller would effectively seeing twice as many pulses so this idea might not work with a D4 unless the clone controllers fan rotation setting is completely configurable.
    I found this out by accident when I mistakenly bought a standard replacement D4 motor complete with the smaller black fan for my D4+ and it didn't like it at all until I swapped the fans blades over.
    How many magnets are on the D2 fan?

    • @karldingbat
      @karldingbat  3 роки тому +6

      Hi, thanks for the interest in my vid, the D2 has 4 magnets in the fan, but this is not a problem as the number of magnets in the fan can be set up in the hidden menu on the chinese heater so it is easy to set fan speed, fuel pump pulses per second on low and full speed and rundown cooling time, there is also a product called afterburner that can be used to set endless parameters in these heaters i am currently trying to buy 1 of these to test and run a vid on but they come from Australia so may take a while to get.

    • @karldingbat
      @karldingbat  2 роки тому +1

      No i dont think ot would work as the glow plug on those models is a coil of wire instead of a ceramic glow plug. Those plugs pull between 15 and 20 amps on start up whilst the newer 1s pull around 10 amps max, so it would overload the glow plug mosfet and shut off when trying to start.

I guess two are temperature a probe and one must a flame sensor. How didi you wire yours? If I wire the two that come together to the same connector the controller reads as very hot and starts the fan (may be a cooling mode?) if I wire one from the 2 cable and the other from the one wire connector it reads normal temp but the I try to start the heater it fails at the glow plug stage (fan comes on, glow plug gets voltage but the it stops and comes up with E03 -glow plug) I have tested the glow plug and it is good so I wonder if it fils to see the temp rise then stops.
