- There is no doubt: the best way to visit Nepal is on foot, with its networks of trails formed over centuries by porters, locals, and mountaineers. There lies a happy place, wandering from teahouse to teahouse, taking in the breathtaking beauty of 8000m peaks and the silence of a crystal clear sky.
If you have ever longed to walk in the shadows of the most magnificent mountains on Earth to finally see the top of the world from a stone’s throw away, this is the trek.

I am watching this in my room at Kathmandu hospital. Today I had to be rescued by helicopter due to high altitude. I was just 6 hours away from Base Camp. Brought tears to my eyes. I was not as lucky as you guys with clear skies, right now is so cloudy. Hopefully I’ll get another chance. Happy to be alive
It’s okay.. Mountain is there always life is important… Next time train we’ll and achieve it 🙌🏻
In which month did you visit and which is the best time to go?
Don't worry sir Everest is still waiting for you.
Muchos ánimos! Yo voy en Octubre con un amigo. Espero que todo vaya bien y te recuperes pronto. Un saludo desde España.
Geez - how dangerous is base camp?
I went there twice. The first time was December of 1973 and the second was December of 1998. The second trip I was effected by the altitude crossing into Gokyo for a different view of Everest. Now I am too old but happy with the memories of adventure!
Whaleshrimp! wow it must have been so different for you without the mass tourism. Happy to bring back some memories! We are on the Annapurna Circuit right now :)
Wow you are so lucky you went there.
@@GODISMYSTERIOUS I had to stop hiking due to a knee injury otherwise I would still be going. Take the long walk to the Everest area instead of flying to Lukla so you get started acclimating to the altitude. Such good exercise.
@@whaleshrimp111 Fantastic sceneries!
nepal is celebrating "VISIT NEPAL -2020" so everyone are welcome here🇳🇵...if you want to make life time experiences, Nepal is the best destination.❤❤🇳🇵
My son and daughter-in-law are on this trek now. Thank you fir helping me see what they’re going through.
Let us know how they get on! 😁😁
Did they make it?
One of the few videos where you can watch landscape and not a guy filming himself. Great informative and inspiring movie, thank you!
We’re honored to be celebrating 10,000 views! 🎉 Thank you, sincerely. 🙏
As one keen to do the EBC trek, I have watched many trekking videos of it, but this one is absolutely one the best. It should be on every trekker's preparation list to watch. Love the juxtaposition between stunning scenery with drone shots, the walking, befriending dogs(!) and life in the tea houses. Well done.
The little dog is SUCH A GOOD BOY
I‘ve been to Base Camp a few times. This really resonates with my experiences, even after so many years it hasn’t hanged a lot. I guess because you went that early in the season. It brought back a lot of happy memories for me. It really got me emotional. Thank you for this. I might just have to go back now. Would love to see your guide on this!
this is beautiful. love your smiles and how you guys take small steps, lots of breaks, have no obligation but purpose and love. I was laughing at your conversation. we had a similar one. I don’t think your grandkids will think this was shit. :-) more adventures please!
Stunning video and well narrated. Everybody flying back with height or stomach sickness has been exposed as a scam.
Thank you for sharing the video. I did it with my husband in September 2018. Thanks God, I was just able to complete the Trek without carrying anything and my husband had to spend a lot time to ensure I was OK and carried most of our stuff so we did not take enough videos or photos to record our journey. Anyway, a few amazing moments surely in our mind. Your video reminds and refreshes all my precious memory. Yes! It is what I have seen, what I have heard, what I have felt and of course what I have walked through!
I went to Base Camp in early Feb 2019 and this video really resonated with me. Very similar conditions with excellent weather and jaw droppingly beautiful scenery on the way up, but a howling gale and ice storm at Base Camp so we didnt see anything. This video really captures my personal experience and I would recommend watching it to anyone considering the Base Camp trek, particularly in the cold months early in the year.
So, would you still recommend going in Feb? I'm planning to do this trek on 2021 ;)
@@Daoro123 I'm planning to go in February as well because it's the only time I can arrange this trek when the weather will be relatively decent. Summer seems to be off the table since it's rainy season.
@@Daoro123 Yes as it is just before the main season so it is not too busy. It was quiet on our way up but on our way down there were a lot of people going up and I was glad we were going in the other direction. I guess it is colder in Feb but it is easier to wrap up agasint the cold than deal with rain and wet.
Amazing! Any desire to summit or no?
@@MsRose00 Yes to desire, but realistically speaking no. I just turned 61 today and although I am pretty fit I did find it quite hard getting to Base Camp and of course above that doesnt get any easier! I really miss the mountains and I am looking at hiking and trekking Mount Blanc next year but I will leave the summit to others (also very put off by the photos from earlier this year of the line waiting to summit).
This trek has been in my bucket list. Hopefully, in 2024 I can tick this of from my list.
Wow. What a wonderful video, truly amazing. One of the best EBC trek videos I've watched. Thanks guys for sharing your awesome experience. Namaste from Australia.
One of the best videos on this trek. Thank you for sharing. I especially like the views of the accommodations and other aspects beyond simply the majestic beauty of the mountains. Also... music just right!
thank you very much, we are planning to visit Nepal in March 2019 and hike the Annapurna Circuit ... We completely fall in love with this beautiful country and especially the Nepalese people. Have you already hike the Everest Base Camp Trek ?
Hi... My wife and I made our first trip to the Himalaya this past February to Bhutan where we did a simple but beautiful trek to the Tiger's Nest. The mountains and local culture take hold of you and I will be back to Bhutan and eventually to Nepal. The Everest Base Camp is probably to much for us as we are bit old.. 65! I know that some people can do it even older though. So maybe!
@@loveaodai100 Wow Bhutan must have been so beautiful and it is supposed to be the happiest country of the world :) This allow is the best reason to visit this country. I heard it is really expensive to visit the country is this true ?
In fact not so expensive if you arrange it correctly. If you go in the winter months you can get by spending their minimum of 200 USD per day as we did. That sounds very expensive but it allows for airfare and all expenses in the country a to z. My wife and I live in Saigon and got a direct flight. Bhutan is really special because the country is only lightly populated (about 700,000 total population) and the people are very traditional about their clothing and architecture which is all very beautiful. The people were very friendly and most people now speak at least some English. Here is a link to my simple video about Bhutan that I posted. ua-cam.com/video/7NVs7qKrCTs/v-deo.html
@@loveaodai100 Truly beautiful! Will definitely rank this high on my wishlist! As for the Everest Base Camp Trek, we saw a lot of people way beyond your age, even in their 80s. It hugely depends on the individual person and their willingness to hike this trek. You might even have the advantage of not rushing it too much. Avoiding altitude sickness is probably the biggest challenge.
Wonderful documentary from an independent traveller’s perspective; brought back a lot of memories of this trek which I managed in mid April-18.
Fab video, I so very much enjoyed watching it. Thank you for posting it.
Wow, you're a real pro! This video is really, really awesome!
Wow thank you so much. We have still so much to learn ... I would already change everything if i could :)
FANTASTIC! Awesome job, guys! The atmosphere is so intense. Brilliant images. Epic footage! This brings back a lot of memories. Does remind us of so many similar feelings too. We had some terrifying moments there as well! Thanks for sharing. So happy to watch.
Thanks, Christine! We had the same feeling, when we watched all the Everest Base Camp Trek Videos on UA-cam. (We would already change so many things, but we are happy that we finally finished it...)
Thankyou so much .. I was virtually traveling. With you … Am trading for the trek and you gave me a complete picture of the place .. now I can prepare for the trek .
Beautiful video . Waiting for another trekking video.
This was great!!! Thanks for posting
Being a Nepali I never got a chance to trek this beautiful journey. Looks like another world. So beautiful
Bipin Poudel it is for sure
Probably the best EBC video I’ve seen. Well done! Stunning visuals, lovely narrated, great dialogue, perfectly accentuated with music. I appreciate the time you put into this. LOVED SEEING ALL THE FOOD LOL.
Thanks for sharing all these useful tips (loved the packing lists as well and the general layout of your site). Excellent way to record a trip of a lifetime :). Highly appreciated! Are you already back from your second trip? When will we see the movie? Where have you been exactly? I need to figure out where to go ASAP :)
Probably the best base camp treking video I've seen. Well done!
Wow I am so happy that you like it. Is there any trek you are interested to see on our channel ? We are heading to Nepal soon :)
Great shoots! Everest base Camp trek in Nepal, for sure an Experience of Lifetime!
Those drone shots in the beginning are amazing... I was at EBC two years ago, I have many good memories of it
Lovely "chilled" production.... Great footage and music.... thoroughly enjoyable... Nice links to gear/prep kit etc also.... Thanks guys... :)
Thank you Simon, if you need more information feel free to ask ....
Excellent video. Breathtaking view of Himalaya. I've been there 6-21April2019..Peace to all. ♥️Malaysia.
We love the trek so much, I would even do it again :)
Stunning visuals and excellent drone footage. I appreciate seeing the inside the places where you stay - it gives me a better appreciation of what you have to endure on your trek. Also I appreciate having some dialogue along with the beautiful scenery. However I am disappointed that you were not able to show more footage of your journey. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your kind words. We are going back to Nepal in spring 2019. Since this was our first real shot at filming ourselves, we have a lot of room for improvement. During editing, I was often unsatisfied with some shots we did. We are planning a lot for 2019 :)
Truly beautiful content! Bravo❤ How you manage to fly the drone? Needs any special permition?
Thank you for sharing all these useful information. Great way to record a trip of a life time :)
Thank you, we are in Kathmandu right now and starting the Annapurna Circuit in a few days. So stay tuned for another movie :)
@@OutsideMaterial Be safe and be happy! Look forward to it!
Awesome video! The drone footage really makes a difference. It looks really tough, but you made it to EBC and back!!! Thanks for sharing...
txchpr1986 thank you
I’ve watched this so many times. Going in April 2020. I’m sure I’ll watch it many more times over.
If you need some info please let me know
Outside Material yes I have a question, was there any item of clothing you either were so happy to have or something you wished you had?
I’m thinking of going in October-November 2020, let me know how your feet felt....I’ve watched many videos as well...have a great trek...
@@HelloMyNamesNino I am also going in April 2020. Did you ever receive a response to your question? Good question.
John Connolly no and probably like you we’re not going now! 👎🏻 heading next April
i completed Annapurna last November and return this November to do EBC...GREAT video
What a great content my friend! Just Amazing 👍🏻
thanks a lot Medina Motors :) glad that you like it. We are going to Nepal soon, this time it will be the Annapurna region. So stay tuned for more trekking videos about Nepal.
Wow! You are daring enough to be living your dream!
Stay safe.
Best wishes from Belfast Northern Ireland!
Greetings to Belfast... we are giving our best to live our dream. It isn't always that easy and for sure a lot of work.
Hi
Really beautiful and true to facts. I like also the panoramic views of the mountains showing the scales and how little we are. I am preparing myself för this Trek very soon. Thanks again
My wife and I are headed to Nepal for the EBC trek on 5 October. I've watched about a thousand videos and this one was one of the best. The drone shots were excellent and all the photography was very vivid and clear. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your comment. It means a lot! You are having an awesome adventure ahead of you. Wishing you the best of times! (Surprise your wife with a Snickers at Base Camp, you will be a hero.)
wow, stunning video beautifully edited n presented, thank you very much...
thanks a lot
Congratulations. I enjoyed every minute of your film
Oh thank u. it was beautiful!
Thank you very much for the kind words
Superb photography, sound, commentary, editing, all-round excellent video. Thank you very much. Would like to see more from you.
Hi Susan thanks for the kind words. We are travelling to Nepal in this spring. This time it will be the Annapurna Region :) Is there any trek you would love to see ? Best Jan
awesome documentary I concur with
Carol Busch, the conversations about how cold and telling your grandchildren one day ...that made me giggle lol . I'm heading up there end of Feb 2022 with my uncle, cannot wait. I am preparing myself mentally for the weather...- thank you for sharing guys :)
Amazing document, it really wants me to go there so badly. Fantastic job!
Thanks, the same thing happens to us. We watched so many documentaries about the Everest Base Camp Trek, that we finally had to go.
Wow, now I want to go there ! It was so interesting to watch :)
Thanks a lot, we are heading to Nepal in a few months, so there will be a lot more content like this in the future :)
Great video! I go to Nepal each year, but just launched my channel and this is the first year I will be documenting everything. I have published my first few Everest videos on the channel but "hope" to upload 40-50 more Everest "how to" videos in the next year. LOVE what you have done here! Great job!
Lovely editing, stunnning drone footage and a beautiful soundtrack.
Thank you!
amazing video, love the sound effects
Thanks a lot, yeah the sound was a lot of work. We are flying to Nepal in Spring next year... The Annapura region, this time it is time for improving the video quality :) Have you done any treks in Nepal ?
The best video ever made... good job...
thanks a lot, we are going to Nepal this spring. So there will be a few more videos about trekking in Nepal soon :)
Great video!! I'm going up November the 4th. Thanks for such great info

@@OutsideMaterial thats awesome - I can't wait!!
Well done guys ..great adventure...that we should all do ...Then we can thank god every day for what a easy /great life we have in modern society.😀
Considering doing this trek as a solo experience. thank you for the great video :)
Definitely the way to go, in my opinion. Loads of benefits in being solo, or at least being in a small group with just a few friends.
Very well edited. Really does tell the story. Good job!
Wow that means a lot to us. Storytelling is one of the most important topics for us.
great video, well done.
thanks a lot. Are you planning to hike to the EBC ?
I am so impressed. Such a beautiful video!
If I could, I would do this trek, too!!! Greetings from Germany!!
Excellent! Amazing and so brilliant! You must come to visit us here in Argentina too! Amazing video friends!💪🌹👍👍👍
We will for sure... which place in Argentina would you recommend?
what incredible quality ... beautiful scenery and very good taste in editing ... congratulations friend .. have fun with what you do and will go far ....
This video is nicely done, so good work. I'm also planning to do the hike to EBC in February 2020, very much looking forward to it.
That is awesome! I just returned. Planning to head back to EBC in the spring of 2020. February would be a great and unique experience!
Great video dude keep making these type of videos................
We will for sure ... next time we will be in the Annapurna Region
A great documentary of one of the worlds greatest trekking destinations. Loved the narration, which I thought made your movie stand out from many others I have seen . The drone footage was beautiful as well . Only thing to complain of is your ending was all a bit sudden . I guess you may have lost some footage , but none the less well done for doing the trek and for sharing your memories .
Thank you so much for sharing!!! I love this. That little declaration of love at the end really got me. It’s for sure a bond of a life time to share an experience like that! So much stress on the body, shared with the most beauteous mountains around. It’s a lot!
I really wish I could do this your way. I just have to find the right companion. They are RARE!!! I am a wee bit jealous.
Would also love to see your packing list, but the link is broken. Can this be fixed?
Subbed. Can’t wait for the next adventure!!! You two have fun! Go live your dreams!
You filmed very well!! ❤❤❤
this video is nothing short of amazing. wow

Breathtaking
it was an amazing experience
Really an amazing video...love it
Wery good footage of all the warious willages...
Thank you very much
this is just the base camp but the altitude and lack of oxygen experience was really tough, what more would it be on top towards the summit? i can’t imagine how dangerous and difficult it is.. i am really amazed by those people who have been there and was able to go down.. truly amazing
A beautiful film!
I did the Annapurna trek last November and thoroughly froze at the 4600m Base Camp.
Hopefully the country will soon reopen for trekking!
I thought base camp 5600 meters!was it that cold? I'm planning on doing it in February 2022.
Is it really busy with tourists all of the time?
You are talking about the Annapurna Sanctuary, not the Annapurna Circuit.
Wow this is so amazing
Thank you since it is our first documentary it isn't perfect but we are happy
Amazing
Nice one good drone footage!
thank you very much ... :) we will be back in Nepal soon :)
Nepal very beautiful country ❤
Yes! Beautiful country, lovely people. Great place to visit!

Cold tea houses lovely, I was looking for a follow up reflection video
The only Problem with this video is it ends...
this is great! Really enjoyed that. Lovely narrated, great captures, breathtaking adventure. Inspiring!you both were awesome!
Am thinking of going to Nepal next year, and your captures might have given me the nudge I needed. Thank you for this!
Best of luck lovely couple!
Franz Ludwig Reiner I know the weather was so bad on the last day that I was scared to lose the camera. Furthermore I was also super exhausted but I am super sad that I don’t have more footage for the base camp
@@OutsideMaterial I didn't mean the ending of the film! I didn't even notice the lack of Base Camp footage, to be honest. It's all about the journey, isn't it? :) I love it!

Great Work!
thank you so much , have you ever done the everest base camp trek ?
Thought i would sub you after watching this on Reddit. i am the one with the bucket list lol.huge thumbs up on vid

Doing this Trek November 2023
I cannot wait.
Are you able to share a list of gear required for the Trek please.
Now i am here...thnx & welcome
wow that sounds great ! Thank you very much
This is so stunning! It has to be one of the best videos of the trek. I just spent an hour browsing your website. I guess my next trip has to be Nepal ;-). Can't wait to see your Annapurna adventure. Now that you know both, which trek would you choose? Would you do it in spring or fall?
You dare to live your dreams! Most people don't have the courage. Keep up the good work. Followed.
Thank you so much!!!
I would definitely hike the Everest Base Camp Trek; you will have amazing views from day two; the scenery is crazy. Also, there are no roads/cars on the entire trek, which I didn't like on the Annapurna Circuit and the beginning of Annapurna Base Camp.
However the Annapurna Circuit is a bit more remote than the EBC or ABC, but it also takes longer and is culturally more diverse. The Pass day (Thorung La) is fantastic.
My raking would be
1. Everest Base Camp
2. Annapurna Circuit
3. Annapurna Base Camp
4. Annapurna Panorama/ Poon Hill
I don't like tourist masses. (Even during low season, a few tea houses have been completly full) that is why I would prefer spring over fall.
If you need more info, please let me know.
Best Jan
Hey Jan! Thanks for the quick reply. One more question. You did the EBC independently, would you recommend that? I have a lot of respect, the altitude, carrying everything, orientation... It seems to be a lot, all on your own. Did you do the ABC independently as well? Is there a guide already? Thanks again! Derek
Hey Derek,
all the treks we did in Nepal were without a guide or porter. The orientation is no problem at all there are signs everywhere, you will not get lost, don't worry. No need for a gps device or something else, you can download an app called TrekkinginNepal for your phone with the GPS trek.
However, a guide will provide you with a lot of useful information about the villages and mountains you will see on the trek. We, on the other hand, love to be a bit more independent. You can allways speak with other guides or teahouse owners about the conditions of the trail or the weather at the end of the day. While having dinner or lunch.
If you listen to your body and take it slow (also a good excuse to walk slow) AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness) will be no problem. Don't rush it, it is way to beautiful. Take some Diamox (can be bought in Kathmandu) with you. It will help against the mild headache in higher elevations.
If you think your backpack is to heavy you can always find a porter for ~10-15USD on the trek. Your bag should weight not more then 1/4 of your body weight.
The ABC guide isn't done yet, sorry.
Excellent amazing video so brilliant awesome job
Thank you very much are you from Nepal?
Outside Material no
Ahh but have you done the trek? If not you have to do it. Its amazing
awesome dear.....nicely documented....
Globe Trotter thanks a lot , this means a lot to us ;)
Great video. I have summited Everest twice & done this trek 4 times. It's a very underrated trek. It's a beautiful mostly quite easy trek with beautiful views. Make sure you bring a good camera. Don't do what i did on my first trek & spend more time looking at where my next step was going to land & not taking in the scenery. I have heard people have trekked it in 3 days but it is usually 5-7 days.
Very interesting. Thanks
thank you very much, have you done the ebc ?
Nice!

thank you
just wow
supermom priyanka just thank you
Did you get a license for the drone? If so was it hard to get one, as I did APC last Dec and they were shit hot on anyone flying up there and the cold didn’t help as the batteries died in seconds so mine came out once and it was spotted so I hid it and didn’t bother again
What a documentary hats off👌👌
Thank you very much for the comment! Means a lot to us.
Big thank for the two of us.
Amazing video , please could you tell me the music which starts at 3.56 ,
Hi thanks a lot the artist is called Aleksandr Shamaluev
He creates beautiful cinematic music... ua-cam.com/video/pyiadc01riw/v-deo.html
Love your video. Beautifully filmed with excellent music and informative. You two have made a subscriber out of me. Pardon the following questions but I just can't help myself. Did you endure the cold of February to avoid the crowds? Would you have been allowed to pitch a tent, weather permitting, rather than stay in a hostel? I hope to make the trek someday before I join the Great Spirit. You can see why many people believe the Nepalese mountains to be the home of the Gods. The only advice I can add is, more, more, please.
Hi Enigmashroud
Yes, we always like to avoid the crowds. In the entire month of February are around 1000 trekkers in the National Park during high season it is ten times as many. You even have to hurry a bit to get a place in a tea house.
Camping is allowed if you ask an owner to pitch up your tent next to a teahouse. But you have to pay the same amount of money.
We collected a lot of information on our website.
