- HEY HeY!!! Its has officially been a year with my handmade loc extensions and my has a lot changed! I will be showing you guys the current look and state of my extensions. 1. Roots to previous lightened hair
2.Process to desired level 7
-Adore Cinnamon + Honey Brown Equal Parts
1. Apply to roots down to middle of locs, feather down onto lightest part of locs, DO NOT go to the ends.
2. Remove as much water
3. Process for 30mins on locs

With the itchiness of the extensions ? I have human hair extensions an they are very itchy

I'm unfortunately one of the people who don't fit in any of the useful journeys. I'm old, my hair is thinking, I'm not accepting of gray hair, my hair is 3a or something and silky smooth naturally. I'm sure the weight of lic extensions might be damaging, but because I'm between a rock and a hard place, and because I plan to live with loc extensions the rest of my natural life, I don't care. I have Knowles braids in for over a year. Some of my hair is naturally locked already. I have nothing to lose. I figure my loc extensions will come in at about $2k. I'm OK with that too. A lifetime of dealing with fine, thin hair that doesn't grow fast, has me convinced this is my best option. I'll put in the work & $$$ to make it happen!

I have some permed at my ends should I cut those first before putting the extension in
I’ve noticed that over time your hair looks more natural and less bulky. I have around the same length and number of locs as you- just had mine installed two days ago. They’re super stiff and I feel like the locs are so bulky and look fake to me. I like the density of yours - does the density lessen with time? I have about 73 “smedium” locs but I feel like it’s a lions mane. I also started off with very short hair after growing out a tapered cut.
Hey !!!! I completely understand and yes with time they do I PROMISE. I had my locs for two years this month and started with short hair and everything your explain was my journey as well with loc extensions !!! I have been away from my youtube for a while and just removed my old ones and put in new ones!!! ( new video coming soon lol ). Yes it does take time and patience. If you look back at old videos of mine on my locs and how I started they where very stiff but softened and moved over time, after coloring and washing and maintenance. Hang in there tho!!!! Stay toned I have new content coming and advice on loc extensions!!!
@@AlexisNichole101 I hope to see that new content soon! I’m a month in now and they’ve definitely loosened some- my scalp feels very sensitive at times and it’s still fuller than I’d like but it has gotten better. First retwist next week!

I am just learning to care for loc's this year 2021.
I want to have neat well kept loc's. I want well defined diamond parting, 4 point loose interlocking, uniform length, very small diameter (as a drinking straw).
My hair grows 1" to 2" a month and is salt-n-pepper or silver in color, curly thick soft med strands not 4c.
I want to use only oil and water no other products shampooing as needed.
As always I will maintain my hair myself. I am a 65 yr. old male.

OMG YES!!!! My hair has kept if fullness and the loc extensions has tightened down to become rather thin (nothing terrible ) but I have noticed!! That’s why i’ll set a date to remove from my natural locs 😊

Any suggestions on how to soften loc extensions???
Hey hey .... I would do a little rinse with water and a little conditioner (just only on the mid shaft to the ends) , or misting them with water daily to soften them. They can be pretty stiff in the beginning but I promise they soften and relax 😀
@@AlexisNichole101 do you remember a timeframe for when they soften/become less scratchy?
I did a 3 strand braid & ran them under hot water while they were braided from the shaft down, not at the extension or attachment point & they softened immediately
