You described me to a “T”. At 76 it is very hard to lose weight, but you have inspired me. I too, am a lifetime member of WW. And you are absolutely right about the accountability of having to weigh in. Thank you for motivating me. Keep up the good work and continue to let us know your progress.

I am so glad I was able to motivate you! It is a struggle but I even got through a one-week cruise with only 1 lb. gain!

Keep it up. My Mom used to say on WW. "I eat cottage cheese and pretend it is chocolate cake."😂😂

Good thought but I have to say that cottage cheese is NOTHING like chocolate. Not even close. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I greatly enjoyed your video and sharing with us your weight loss - Congrats on releasing 5 lbs!!! I’m 5’4 ideal weight for me is 120 lbs and I’m 134 lbs with a tire tube around me and it’s horrible beyond ! My best bud senior Jolly Molly pug was very sick and I lost weight rapidly as I barely ate no exercise all stress. Then she died my heart is beyond broken 8 months later so weight packing on to this 134. I’m a sugar addict beyond I buy chocolate sugar treats etc to comfort me ugh. I must obtain optimal health and must take excessive action. Did intermittent fasting didn’t work, apple cider morning is filling me however this morning had chocolate and grapefruit ! I have air popper for popcorn (I add tsp salt and nutritional yeast and a few peanuts) and eat many veggies beans fruit and rarely meat. I do run walks daily 10K steps, and want to swim again and join a pool. I have had high cholesterol years and I’m thinking it’s the evil artificial sugar causing and don’t want meds. I live alone big house in woods kids married rarely see live hours away and have to count on myself to achieve excellent health! I also weigh myself every morning first thing unclothed and scale not moving but have to keep a positive mindset ❤ I will look into the weight watchers but I do want to prepare my own foods as I love to cook healthy for most part - Have a wonderful day and Happy Spring !

I really just listened to every word of this. We are about the same age and height, and I just started a serious effort to lose weight 3 weeks ago. One of my main motivations is to reduce stress on my knees. My goal is to lose 10% of my body weight. I have lost 2 1/2 lbs. So it has also been a slow pace. Unfortunately for me I started at 165, so I have a long way to go. Also, I do love my sweets so that has been hard. We are just beginning to harvest a ton of blueberries so maybe I will give your waffle idea a try.

Hi Sandy, loved this video. I too have been associated with Weight Watchers off and on for over 40 years. It was always my go to after a period of gaining weight from my lifetime goal number. The highest I ever got to was 195, after my divorce. I' m also 5'4 and lost 50 pounds 20 years ago and pretty much kept it off. I' m 70 now and to keep myself at around 140 , I weigh every day and count every calorie. I dont feel deprived , I eat one real meal a day sometimes Lean Quisine and sometimes what I cook for my husband. I use the other calories for veggies or a treat. I drink sweet tea every day. Get lab work every 6 months so I know where I stand medically. I don't make dieting too severe in order to keep my mental health in good shape. Oh yeah I do an hour of excercise every night no matter how tired I am. I've been doing calisthenics since I aas 16, so its not a burden. Maybe this wouldn't work for everyone but I'm perfectly content with it. Any time you want to do a video about weight and dieting I'm all ears. Take care.

You are so disciplined! Congratulations on keeping that weight off. I only exercise in the gym for 20 minutes every other day so you are my hero. I also walk 8000 to 10,000 steps a day so I think that helps me too.

The way to go is Intermittent fasting!! It works!!

Anything that is listed non-fat is the WORST thing. In order to make it taste better a lot of sugar is added! Forget calories count carbs, of course it's hard but if it was easy no one would be fat!!!!

    hm .....🤔
i`m not sure it is even good to try and lose wait in your 70ies.
digestion doesnt get better with the years and the gut microbiota loses useful bacteria stems, needed for the processing of micronutrients ...
my personal opinion is, and i hope you do not take any offense in that:
when you are past your 70th, do the opposite. try to keep your weight.
and especially try to keep your proteins and micronutrients. once past 80 it will be very hard to get these back. most people in that age more suffer from malnutrition rather than overweight.
doing sports, walking .... is great. exercise keeps you fit and helps to keep your protein status. but dont do it for weight loss.
one day you`ll be thankful for these extra reserves.

Of course what you say about protein and micronutrients is very important. However, one huge motivation for losing weight at an older age is mobility. I am in a Sunday School class with a group of women in their 70s and 80s. The majority of them have hip or knee problems and the heavier ones more so than the others. Just seeing how weight affects mobility has become a huge motivator for me.

      yes you are right.
but at least we should try to lose body fat in a way that preserves muscle mass/protein status.
so i'd say - work out, exercise ... but dont do diet. or diet very carefully
