- KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Quick Galloper, where the pulse of horse racing beats with every stride and story, presents another Lifetime Narrative.
In this video, The Quick Galloper brings to you a narrative woven through the tracks of time, the life of a jockey whose name has become a part of local racing, Roderick DaCosta.
Roderick DaCosta has seen it all-the crisp mornings that promise the thrill of the race, the camaraderie of the stables, and the silent conversations between horse and rider in both Canada and Jamaica. It's a life measured not just in furlongs but in the richness of experiences that stretch beyond the finish line.
Join us as The Quick Galloper unfolds the tapestry of DaCosta's career, a journey marked, by the sweet taste of victory, and the lessons learned in the face of defeat. It's a tale of relationships forged in the heat of competition and moments of kinship between riding colleagues.
This is The Quick Galloper's tribute to Roderick DaCosta, a narrative that promises to enlighten, engage, and celebrate the enduring legacy of a true horseman. Stay with us as we embark on this journey.

Wonderful and quite informative. He’s an interviewer’s delight. Teddy has always been one of the more mannerable or as my Granny would say “mannersable” jockeys, which is what I admired most about him, I see nothing has changed. This was good. Will watch again 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thanks for watching and commenting.

Teddy, very impressive. I'm here sitting in my living room, snow blowing outside, I just return home from a long haul run in the States and you impressed me with your professionalism and memory, you made me laugh and I thoroughly enjoyed your interview. I remember seeing you at the park with Percy Williams (Caymanas Park)you were always well groomed and quiet, I didn't know you were so Articulate, I enjoyed listening to you at 2:00am British Columbia time. Seems as if I have to move to Ontario to see you ride more winners. I do hope your son make a career in football.
Glad we were able to warm u up in the biting cold. Thanks for watching and commenting.

One of my favorite jockeys in the game. When I was about 17yrs old I went to the track with a grand uncle of mine. Never knew anything about the game. Can't forget asking teddy who ago win this race jockey. He told me #5 cyaan lose. I bet #5 for $10 and guess what the horse won. Big up teddy. Remember him winning 5 races and the last one pay the most.

Good morning family, very good interview. The rider mentioned that he once won 5 races but did not win on the one that seems a sure winner, well that happened to G.Mathew sometimes in the 80s. He had two mounts, a 9-5 favorite name Step at it which he was touting and Lochinvar at 50-1 which he told people that had a bad foot and he did not like, earlier in the day he won with Lochinvar at long odds and in the afternoon featured race he was narrowing beaten by the late A.Gopie in Non Align, I heard that a group of people blocked the road in a certain community waiting on G.Mathew to catch him and beat him because they lost their money on the supposedly sure winner and was told that the long shot horse that he won on.
You memory is so good. Thanks for watching and commenting.
