    When I did peel-and-stick tile on my kitchen backsplash I had 6 outlets I had to cut around plus a decorative window molding. Phew! It was still an easier job than actually tiling though and it has held up well for about 7 years now.

      What brand did you use?? I’m worried about longevity with the peel and sticks

    • @swrigley9861
      @swrigley9861 3 роки тому +15

      @@jessicalumbard6583 I used the Smart Tiles brand. I got them from Home Depot but I know other places sell them too. When I looked up my order to check the brand I noticed I got them in Jan 2016 so I haven't had them quite as long as I thought. But it's been almost 5 years and they still look great and haven't had issues coming off the wall. If they did I would probably just use caulking to reseal the edge.

Where did you purchase your white curtains and 2. Where did you purchase the light fixture over your kitchen island? I have an older house built in the 80’s and omg everything has to be updated lol. great informative vid, the end result looks great. I just bought a bunch of smart tiles with a grey grout i thought they would be good quality but the overlaping grout ends are not very accurate and all different lengths, some are much too wide. ill try and cut the longer one out because wider grout lines in some places won't look right, hopefully that won't be too hard and look good.

      Hi, here's a link to my FAQ about peel and stick tile that you might find helpful. I've never applied them over wood, but I suspect that you could. As far as removing them goes, it will leave sticky residue, so you'd have to clean it off with a product like Goo Gone thediymommy.com/how-to-install-peel-and-stick-tile-backsplash/

      if you feel up to it, you can use sandpaper to sand away any glue residue like u might for old wallpaper for eg, aaand (if u have the tools) some pre-made mud and a putty knife go a long way for peeled paint spots! not everyone likes mudding tho, i've had to rly work up to the skills i have now, it used to take me forever 😅 put definitely sandpaper 😄

    For your kitchen how many pack of tiles did you use? I notice on thesmarttiles website, they are sold by the sheet, their calculator recommended buying 240 (1,557 worth), but I just can’t fathom why I would need that many for the size of my space? Did you use their calculator?

      I used tiles from Dollarama for this makeover, and I think I used about 25 sheets of about 10 x 10".

    I went to look at the FAQ and the one I needed had not been answered. Mine in my 5th wheel, are not sticking on the ends. How can I "tack them down". Is there a certain product you can recommend? I cannot get this beautiful sea glass color anymore.

    FYI on your DIY... you're so dang AWESOME!! Thank you for such valuable info AND presenting so we'll!!...visually AND with your explanations!! This is exactly what I want to do on one wall in my bathroom! (Vanity wall)
    Questions!...
    Do you think using an extra adhesive on the wall would help with added stability..I saw an adhesive product that you apply with a trowel for vinyl tiles etc.....and...
    What about hanging mirrors, pictures, etc on top on the peel and stick?!...in other words, can you just nail into this stuff like a regular wall?!
    Thank you for sharing your talents!!

      I've never tried an adhesive behind the tile, so not sure! Yes, you can just nail or screw through the vinyl to the wall.

    Peel and stick tiles for a small floor area... you think it will work?

      FloorPops makes floor peel&stick! I’ve been eyeing them for a project I want to do but too scared to. Now that I’ve watched this video I think I may jump to it! They have designed “tiles” that I think I may do the wall in my laundry room with above the washer & dryer! The larger floor sized tile & design will really make it pop and after seeing her do this I’m motivated!

    Do you think it would be possible if I painted over peel & stick backsplash? I purchased some that look “off-white” next to our white walls. It’s too late to return them, so I’m torn!!
