Emily has a strange kind of beauty. I thought the film ended so unfulfilled. Plus the movie should've had a score behind it. The lack of music and the unfulfilled, wanting, ending are the two gripes I have about the movie.
I understand however you must look at the bigger picture look at it as its not about old men or a naive little gal it's about people and how life of rich poor it don't matter the perception of this wasn't to have a a loud music throw down it was about people and how misery was still in their heart the things in life that they walked on took advantage of people they never really gave themselves a chance to be happy truly so this was for me masterpiece to open your eyes and see not just look at

An interesting turn of "unfortunate events" for Violet Baudelaire :-) I remember back in those days (2004) some people who disliked Emma Watson (something I couldn't quite understand), used to bring out Emily Browning as a much better teenage actress. We have seen little from Emma outside the Harry Potter movies, but indeed, Emily has now sprouted as one of the best actresses of her generation.
She beautiful. I'm not really feeling the movie, but the "sleeping" scenes were really interesting. I think it shows the vulnerability and fear of aging of the various Johns.
I actually quite enjoyed watching this movie. It has the perfect elements in my book, The sadness, drama, romance, all that makes a wonderful movie. And not to mention emily browning! i mean, she is just beautiful and she was the perfect actress for Lucy's role.
Emily Browning is the same age as me and we both have the same birthday. I like the fact that she is also from Melbourne and grew up in the same neighborhood as me. She is a great actress and I look forward to seeing what else she will get up to considering that I feel oddly close to her.
Which comes from a person who judges me from one line, over the internet. This is a solid motion picture, with a great emotional impact at the end of the film. The protaganist is a very interesting and original character, who is very apathic, and unknowingly has old men having their way with her. Emily Browning is an amazing actress, who deserve alot of praise for daring to accept this role, and she did it with the natural grace we have come to expect from her. You sir, are a loser.
Why? The movie may have been a mixed release but she got a lot of respect for her acting for it and it hasn't harmed her career at all. She has a bunch of movies since this and more to come including the Host and Pompeii. It's also not like she regrets the nudity in the movie as at least 2 of her roles since have had at least partial to full frontal nudity with Plush and Summer in February.

I struggled to find the moral of the story at first i just thought it was about a girl struggling in life and finding it hard to cope with those struggles that it lead to getting involved in the that dark world of exploitation alcohol sex and drugs

Your right, its not normal.. but that doesnt mean it shouldnt be. It doesn't matter how many people disagree with me, it doesnt mean their right. I'm not wrong just because everyone doesn't like it. I suffer a lot for what I believe in but no matter what I just can't convince myself to think like you and everyone else and in a way.. I'm proud of that. I really am open-minded, but the reason I feel so strongly is because no one has proven to me that nudity in the media is a good thing.

I understand what your saying, but thats not what I want :( talking to a psychiatrist would be worthless to me. Its a lot more satisfying to convince people that sexual abuse (and I dont just mean molestation, but using sex the wrong way) is wrong, because it really is... it can only have negative results. The motivation of her character and all characters was poorly developed. Furthermore the filmmakers seemed to want to make some point about the male gaze, which did not work at all.

I'm saying if you'd listen to her interviews you'd know that in her mind she's making a statement... like Sucker Punch there are themes of female objectification which this movie hits you in the face with but she as a person has stated o record that she thinks sexual jobs shouldn't be frowned upon and people who want to do it should and she makes that quite obvious in her love of this role
