I used to make the run up to Boswell's from Harpers Ferry when I was working down there. It has been a while since the last meet up that I attended. I may see if I can make the trip from New York. It will take about four and a half hours each way.

I am liking this blend but my 8oz tin thus far is a stubborn mule for sure, out of 6 bowls whether freshly rubbed or left to dry out for half an hour the first 10-15 minutes been a lot of babysitting, tedious light, draw, tamp, repeat. If I try to smoke it cool it stays sour and uneventful. I have to let the bowl get hot and the coals on cusp of running away before the flavors will pop but once they do it is rewarding. It will be interesting to see if it changes over the coming year but as of right now I don't dare smoke more than two bowls per day or risk mouth burn / tongue bite. Would definitely buy again but in its current state this batch is going to last a while.
Just heard about this meet up. I am tempted if I can clear it with the missus. I'm just shy of 4 hours away. I'll keep an eye on this and see how it shakes out.
Night Train is a sleeper blend. The only way to find these sleeper blends is to keep trying different blends that have tge same components of blends you like and not worry about all these hype and small batches. You smoke what you like, it's your money and your taste buds. Night Train comes in the one pound block also which is nice.
Yeah that’s the only way to find out what you like that’s how I do it I look for blends with certain tobaccos I like , for example not big into Latakia right now so I avoid a lot of them haha

I think Kajun Kake is slightly better but Night Train is so damn good. They both scratch an itch. The more I smoke Night Train the more it moves up in the rankings.

Night Train is in my top five favorites. I mix it with Chenet's Cake from time to time to make things a bit more interesting.
