@@keithhopkins9225 I remember when I was young,7 or 8, I almost burn down the out house trying to get rid of a wasp nest. Dirt roads with tar and gravel in the summer time sucked. These kids may not be poor, but they have poor folks humor and a great outlook on life.

@@stilesthissell I'm from the southernmost part of the Appalachian foothills, in North Florida panhandle. I haven't worn shoes in so long that I stepped on a baby Spanish bayonet the other day and didn't feel it. My mom freaked lol. It didn't even bleed!
I was blown away with that basketball clip of the girl flinging the ball backwards over her head. that was AWESOME.
I’m an Education Assistant in the Toronto area and since our team kicked tush that one year, every kid at recess plays basketball. The girls are *phenomenal*!

Stepping over 14 boys sleeping in my living room, the bedroom, even the hallway... This was my life. Hell, they are all grown with places of their own and right now 2 are in the spare bedroom right now because they stayed too late after supper to drive home...lol They never grow up.
All there to get close to the hot sister, slept over many houses for that reason....🤣😅

I am not a native, I live in Germany. Unfortunately, I don't always understand everything. But I haven't laughed like the last few days in a long time. But the serious topics are also very interesting for me as a stranger. The art is really very beautiful. A great find for me. I hope there is still a lot to see on this channel.

Yes! It was a privilege to not have UA-cam and the internet growing up! For the most part. These kids today have such a burden. When used right the internet can be an incredible tool. Then I watch TikTok compilation videos and I realized it's not really used great 😂 it is wonderful however when it brings the truth of the past to light and gives us mixed people a chance to learn about the culture that we didn't have the opportunity/burden to know, also sharing ideas and arts, helping people connect to make a foundation to begin the healing process. Thanks for uploading, the laughs and jokes and also thank you for sharing your culture.

I do a lot of adult coloring. I want to buy some Native/Navajo coloring books but I want to know the money is not going to some one who is not even related. I keep thinking maybe the girls who do the Jingle Dances could issue a coloring book of the clothes etc and rug designs, but the money could help MMIW efforts.?

Thank u for creating these videos. You bring awareness, culture and humor to Native American life. 🌞 I am second generation Greek / Italian from LA California with no culture up bringing. I lived on the Flathead reservation in Montana from 1977 to 1986 and learned so very much about the Salish and Kootenai peoples. Even learned to tan hides from Agnes Kenmille “Oshanee” a beautiful woman and teacher. I was always the outsider but it was ok. I didn’t know she was famous till years later. I was just this chattery strange white girl who wanted to learn tanning. I went to her house on Flathead lake and asked her, will you teach me? She said yes. A few years later after I moved away she began teaching at the community collage. I was so happy to hear that! Watching your videos takes me back...

I don't even understand that cereal swap bit. When you come up poor, you don't even think about things like name brand. Just having food to eat and life is good.
When Jordan said "western family" I got nostalgic... I haven't seen that brand for years, they had the best frozen orange juice.
We didn’t swap out cereal but we had the powdered milk...nasty.
Yeah...plus it's like teaching kids it's ok to be dishonest when they find out. I don't know but I couldn't do this to my kids. I'd be honest. It's one of the sacred teachings....just my humble opinion.

Hey guys, how about a natives react to Deb Haaland being confirmed as Interior Secretary. I know I was excited and I'm not native. Although on the mainland (Seattle) when I had my hair long, a few natives did ask me what tribe I was from. I'm Asian, born and raised in Hawaii, so the darker skin probably contributed.
Anyways I watch your channel to learn a little more about native culture through a modern lens. Hope you guys cover this histrionic event.

Growing up my youngest would have various school/club friends over our condo to plan events or charity drives. Her sister would chaperone until we got home around 10pm. Usually, half would be crashed out on our sofa/floor by then. Their parents were always surprised to hear from me how respectful they were in following house rules. And how each teen would thank her father and I when it was time to leave. I think the term is "Pikachu face"..... every time (? )

Im from Scotland, I remember meeting a Native American family, it was a Pow Wow festival documentary I was part of so they let me sleep in they're house for afew nights. Honesty there was just constant people and children everywhere all running around and laughing and playing in and out of the house, the houses were never empty. It made me so happy. They made me feel like part of the family. People can think what they want about the Native Americans but I've never known a people to be more highly social, family oriented and respectful than them in my life. ❤❤❤

Also we had 2 Native sisters on our university basketball team a few years ago and they were phenomenal . One played in the WNBA. They were very kind in sharing some of their culture with us fans. On their senior night their parents helped arrange dancers to come. It was amazing . Still miss those beautiful ladies.
