To Rebecca. Imagine the drum is a heartbeat, it is what everything in the dancing circle is led by. Just as our hearts lead us. The songs are sacred as well. I’m a white man with an adopted full blood native brother, and I’m lucky to be able to call these amazing people my kin by that adoption. To all you native Americans, and First Nations people, I say a humble thank you for letting me live among you and your people.

Blackfeet here, our music always makes me so emotional. Happy songs, sad songs, funny songs, etc. no matter what it is they just speak to the soul💖 my son just turned 7, and he's just getting an appreciation for our music, he understanding and now wants to dance, but we're not part of any officially recognized "tribe", cuz we're not "qualified". But I'd love to find the closest pow wow to go to, so we can still feel our roots, we both thirst for our heritage and it's so apparent! If anyone has any resources or connections I'd be forever grateful! -Sending love from the Mojave desert in So Cal!💖

Hi there!! Thanks for reacting to Young Spirit Pow WOW , these guys are from the First Nation Indigenous tribes of North America. The singers would wait for one of the lead singers to start the singing then the rest of the drum circle singers will join in, followed by some Native American war/battle cries when they are singing. You should react to some more pow wow videos such as The Men’s Northern traditional dance and the United Pueblo Buffalo dance as a dedication tribute dance to the Water Protectors that protested against the Dakota Access PipeLine back in 2016 from Gathering of Nations Pow Wow in Albuquerque,New Mexico.

THANK YOU for reacting to one of if not BEST drum groups of ALL TIME, if anyone has time, go to your local powwow, stand by the drum when they are singing like this, It is empowering and you can feel the drum and singing go through your body, it is a fantastic experience and you will forever remeber it. It is singing from the very spirit of self, this is what moved you, you should hear it when their voices start to vibrate. they use words of their own language and nations, but most who do not know the language states it is just yelling around and yet none can do as they do either, they just choose to call down is all. It is singing your prayer most times.

My first video of Pow Wows was exactly this one, and then Manito Abe. I don't understand a word they are singing becouse I am from South Africa.I am mixed race dad was white and my mom is black. I have learned the words and sing along with Young Spirit. I love the culture the traditions of your peaple. I also get sad when I read about how the native people of the US have been treated by the the government. It's the same almost ouver the whole world from Australia to Africa and beyond. Your drums awake something.

You've crossed over into my culture and I'm loving your reactions even more now, if that's possible. These men, these singers, throughout our Native North America have powerfully melodic voices and I cannot wait for you to delve deeper into these drum groups and singers hopefully with a recommendation or two from me, as well. 😁 Love, love, love ya girly! 🔥💖

I remember growing up in high school, all of us no matter what grade we used to get together and fill the valley with this singing at night outside. I miss those days. We were a community, the kids did it for fun. It was on the Navajo Reservation. It’s in native language and you just know the song or beat from the heart. You just know the song, I don’t know how to explain it 😅

As a singer in the powwows.. as we all say “one beat one voice” a lot of these songs are prayers for our people and we sing for the ones who can’t sing and dance for the ones that can’t dance. And we do have a lot of healing songs as well. But the drum is the heart beat to our people..

Good song! Cool to see someone react to our music like this, it’s all about energy, the feeling u get, there’s a lot of good groups out there different styles, languages/songs to react to. There’s another style of Native American singing called round dance or hand drum singing. Maybe u can check that out too when you get a chance. If u liked this then u would for sure like that as well. I’ll recommend Arnold Alexis of the Logan Alexis Singers🙌🏾

Pinching helps control in a sense. You see male singers do this in many groups. If they allow a full flow, it hurts. And really, if these performers have a bit of trouble singing a ‘normal’ song. Not to say they will be bad at it. It’s just their voices are set for this setting.
