Yeah they made a LOT of changes to adapt it into a Disney style movie, but I actually really like what they did with it. It may be totally different from the source material, but I think what they created is great. For example, in the comics, Fred/Fredzilla is actually a mutant who has the power to shapeshift into a Godzilla-like kaiju. And Baymax is instead a massive, bipedal dragon-like robot whose artificial intelligence is a copy of Hiro’s dead father. Similar relationship to the one seen in the movie, but a MUCH less cute and cuddly exterior. Then there’s Gogo being a mutant with super speed who can transform into a ball of explosive energy, and Wasabi actually being a chef who can manifest his chi into swords and throwing knives. Honey Lemon is probably the most accurate to the comics, they didn’t really change her much. The team has ties to the X-Men, with their original leader being the Silver Samurai, an ex-villain who was once one of Wolverine’s greatest enemies. He has the power to empower anything he touches with a field of tachyon energy, which makes any weapon he wields sharper and more powerful than adamantium. After he left the team, he appointed the genius 13-year old inventor Hiro as the new leader.

Ah yes, this film holds a very special place in my heart. About two years before it was released, a cousin of mine passed away. We were very close growing up and he was basically the big brother I never had (and I’m an only child, so it really meant a lot having a brotherly bond). He taught me how to be self confident and to always believe in myself. When I got the news that he suddenly died, it seriously hit me hard. So I know exactly what Hiro was going through in this movie. And from what I gather, it is an experience we both have the burden of carrying.
Ugh this movie... so good. What I really love about Baymax is not that he's a giant cute marshmallow robot, but that he's a giant cute marshmallow robot WITH SO MUCH HEART.
44:04 I think Alan Tudyk has been in every major Disney animated movie made for years now, kind of like a new mascot. He was even in Moana as the chicken
@@akasarahsmom Wreck it Ralph is my fav Disney movie, it blew my mind that he was King Candy, love that goofy voice. though for me i think it would have been funnier if he did "You hit a guy, WITH glasses.... well played" in Wash's voice lol
My favorite thing about him in Moana is there's an outtake clip of him making chicken noises into a mic, and in between chicken noises he's muttering, "I went to Juilliard..."
"Tadashi is here." Always gets me! There is a series done with this same animation called: " Baymax! " It caused a bit of a stir for featuring an episode where girl gets her period. I thought it was a very cute show and appreciated the episode. (I think each episode is under 10 mins, you can find them on UA-cam) Then there is a cartoon with multiple seasons which I have not seen. It's called: " Big Hero 6 " This movie hits so much harder now, my Mom passed away 2 years ago. I relate a lot to just seeing something that reminds me of her and what I wouldn't give to hear her again to call her on the phone..
The fact we only have Ellie’s voice as a child just adds to that, because in a way it encapsulates how Carl tries to fulfill their childhood dream (and is essentially stuck in the past rather than moving forward)… Gosh, that movie is f**king art!
Phenomenal reaction. This is easily one of Disney's very best of the 3D era. Its story of grief and how it can affect and even corrupt those left behind really resonates, and clearly it did with you. Thank you for sharing your honest emotions with us, what a special thing.
The Big Hero 6 are actually a gang of Marvel superheroes, kind of like the X-Men or the Avengers - just a more obscure one. This film can be thought of as an adaptation of their origin story. The original comics actually took place in Tokyo, but of course this adaptation changed it up a bit and created San Fransokyo, an alternate history version of San Francisco that was rebuilt with Japanese technology after being totally destroyed by an earthquake.

The blimps are wind turbines, it's proposed idea for wind power rather than a static tower. It's pretty cool because you can just pull them down to ground level if the weather gets dicey or need repairs
I firmly believe the "You're going to help so many people buddy" is not intended for Baymax, but for Hiro, as Tadashi was so excited to show Baymax to his brother once he got Baymax working. I feel like that part of the message was intended to be a gift for Hiro
There was a sequel series on the Disney Channel that picks up right after the movie left off. It has most of the main voice cast return with the exception for the voices of Wasabi and Fred. It's 2D animation but it's really good and does a really good job of extending the story of the team.
My father died when I was just 13. Later this year will be 30 years since it happened and I can still hear his voice when he would call to me in my room, in my head. I’d give anything to hear it audibly once more, but we didn’t have money for a video camera to do home movies, and my sister’s wedding just a few weeks before his death was before they did video congratulations from people, so we don’t even have that. This movie hits on such a high level for me, emotionally, with the sudden and tragic loss. Yet, it’s just an amazing movie aside from that. My nephew and I even to the fist bump on occasion still after I taught him it right after seeing the movie because I thought he’d enjoy it. Thank you for watching it and all the videos you do where you let yourself be vulnerable in front of us. It endears you to us. Keep up the wonderful work.
It's interesting watching this at the same time as watching Blue Eye Samurai. Both are revenge stories but BES is framed from the perspective of the person seeking revenge, while Big Hero 6 turns out to be framed from the perspective of the innocent victims revenge leaves in the wake of its collateral damage. Obviously the age demographics are vastly different between the two stories, but this film showing the flipside of that coin is an interesting mirror.
When I first watched Blue Eye Samurai, there was an aspect of Ringo that reminded me of Beta Max, like Ringo is a beautiful extension of Beta Max, at one point Beta Max speaks of a 'Revenge Story', similar to Ringo's reply of he and Mizu riding a 'Revenge Boat' to their destination.
Been waiting for this one. I knew it was gonna be a tear jerker for ya. It always hits close to home for me as well. I lost my little brother to an overdose a few years ago and these kinds of movies always wreck me. I think this movie is almost perfect, and I love that they didn't muddle up the story they wanted to tell with any love interests or stuff like that which usually get thrown into stories like this.
I normally love sharing my emotions, so it doesn’t make people feel alone, but I think it’s a pretty significant thing to put in a movie to have a sibling die because how many of us have experienced that? It’s very therapeutic to feel and cry openly about it, and I hope everyone has that type of experience

I love Hiro taking on her brother’s ultimate legacy at the end without a thought: “Someone needs to help”. I also love how TERRIFYING Baymax was after Hiro took out the programming and how hard the others had to fight to keep Baymax from ending Callahan right then and there.
Yeah, people don't talk about this film enough, its really a hidden gem. I can't remember if they said they're making a second one, but regardless.. UGH!! still SO GOOD!!.. I love the parallel of when Hiro said "Someone has to help!", just like Tadashi did before going into the burning building. Also, the later scene when Baymax asks Hiro if he's "satisfied with his care", dang Disney/Pixar just knows exactly when to strike, huh? 😥. But anyway, really great reaction... EVERYONE DESERVES A BAYMAX IN THEIR LIVES 😊

The floating windmills gather wind energy for the city. By getting higher in the atmosphereits aple to reach more turbulent winds. Disney Pixar held a children science competition for an invention idea and stated the winner would be put into the movie. The floating windmill was the competition winner
This movie did not need to go so hard for a Disney “superhero” movie but I’m so glad it did. I’ve lost a lot of people the past 6 years and I feel like this movie has been healing. This and Coco
In the comic books, Jane Foster is a paramedic. She works in an ambulance. Her bravery is what turned Thor's eye. So when she became Lady Thor, she was a superhero paramedic, which is really cool. There is also Night Nurse, a title that has been carried by multiple people over the years at Marvel. She is not a superhero, but she provides medical care to heroes and villains who want to avoid the hospital for whatever reason. If you watch the Daredevil TV show, you will meet one version of her. Dr Strange's ex-girlfriend is based on a comic book character who was Night Nurse for a while. There are a couple of heroes who are medical doctors (such as Dr Strange). Doc Sampson is a psychiatrist. He's the one who figured out that Dr Banner has Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Admit it, you all come here to see me cry. Movie proceeds to out Up Up by making you fall in love with a character, get fully invested in it and then kill it at just the moment it means the most early on in the film.
I was fooled about the identity of the villain. My favorite bits with Baymax are the Scotch tape, and the low battery. I had wondered what happened to the old school GP doctor. I've spent a fair amount of time in hospitals the past 7 years (stroke), and discovered that registered nurses are the modern equivalent. They are the ones who do all the grunt work and get things done.

The plot took me by surprise, too, but I really enjoyed this movie - maybe in part because of that. One year, when my son a bit younger than Hiro is supposed to be, I made him a Hiro costume (including the winged helmet) and made the Yokai costume (the bad guy) for myself, and we went to Anime North together. Anyway, always love your commentary and appreciation of good storytelling. 👍
It just makes me wanna hug you! Close you in my arms... The movie is touching but it's more sad to see you cry!!! You are such a beautiful person when you give your feelings so much freedom to express themselves...
This movie used to be my comfort movie, literally carried my whole childhood me and my fam watch this over and over and ugly cry all the time, I almost forgot how beautiful this movie was, I should cherish it for life, i’m planning to watch it again after long couple of years not watching it anymore.
Yeah this movie hit harder than I thought it would. I lost my older brother back in 1980 when I was 6. And like you, I can't even remember what my brother sounded like. My mom always said she had a recording of him somewhere but never listened to it but she promised she'd find it and let me hear it. Then when she passed, she took that secret with her so I was never able to listen to it. I thought I was over it but when I saw this a LOT of memories and emotions came back. Everything but his voice. But still a great movie with a lot of heart. Grief is proof of love but it can still hurt. I feel you there. Stay gold.
This movie doesn't pull any punches when it comes to the emotional department, that's for sure. It's told in such a real and honest way anyone who's lost a loved one can relate. A lot of other animated movies has loss as a theme, but they're so fantastical in nature you can shield yourself a little. But in this one we see the aftermath, the side by side pictures, the funeral, the depression... It just wrenches that knife in the wound. But it's worth it because in seeing Hiro going through grief and coming out the other side reminds us we (hopefully) did it too. Also a good cry is cleansing for the mind. Beautiful story and in my top 20 animated movies of all times, despite stiff competition. Maybe even top 10.
48:18 that's sounds like a SM relationship. We reccommend stuff that makes you cry and you consent to what will gonna make you cry. And then we all watching you crying, while crying ourselves with you. - - I often catch myself reaching for the tissues at the same moment you do. Which means I don't imagine that certain scenes are incredibly touching or sad, etc.
I’ve seen this SO many times and I STILL break at all the same scenes you did. Especially /that/ one. I’m right there with you and Hiro with the same pain. I’ve lost so many, but the worst and most important ones consist of my twin brother, parents and little girl. So hearing you having lost your sister and being high empath feeling your pain amplified with my own and Hiro’s I just.. broke. So many tears. That was needed, thank you. The Baymax fist bump is my text tone. Great stuff.
The big highlight was you singing FOB. Beautiful. Thanks for reacting and putting energy into everything for us.
Untill Baymax went full Terminator mode. It's all about the programming essentially.
44:04 I think Alan Tudyk has been in every major Disney animated movie made for years now, kind of like a new mascot. He was even in Moana as the chicken
When we got Alan's autograph he wrote "I'm a leaf on the wind" on the photo, but he SAID it in King Candy's voice! LOL He's an amazing voice actor.
47:32 there actually is a animated series for Big Hero 6. Which I think had some of the same people behind it as Kim Possible.
"Tadashi is here."
Always gets me!
There is a series done with this same animation called: " Baymax! "
It caused a bit of a stir for featuring an episode where girl gets her period. I thought it was a very cute show and appreciated the episode. (I think each episode is under 10 mins, you can find them on UA-cam)
Then there is a cartoon with multiple seasons which I have not seen. It's called: " Big Hero 6 "
This movie hits so much harder now, my Mom passed away 2 years ago. I relate a lot to just seeing something that reminds me of her and what I wouldn't give to hear her again to call her on the phone..
Truly can't recall too many animation movies where the important character to a main character dies so early
Ellie- Up. That one hurts just as much too
@@funnylilgalreacts Up destroys you in the first 10 minutes, with very little dialog and a just a slowing tempo of a few piano keys.
@@funnylilgalreacts Too much to mention
The fact we only have Ellie’s voice as a child just adds to that, because in a way it encapsulates how Carl tries to fulfill their childhood dream (and is essentially stuck in the past rather than moving forward)… Gosh, that movie is f**king art!
Your open emotions have made this channel a great find.
Phenomenal reaction. This is easily one of Disney's very best of the 3D era. Its story of grief and how it can affect and even corrupt those left behind really resonates, and clearly it did with you. Thank you for sharing your honest emotions with us, what a special thing.
I lost my big brother Gary in 2015, so this movie always get to me too and watching you react really was cathartic for me. Sending you a huge hug.
Baymax called Mochi hairy baby is relatable.
If everyone had a Baymax, the world would have a good chance at hitting that utopia.
Angela! I've probably watched well over a hundred of your videos and this is the first time I've heard you sing! You've been holding out on us girl!
My nephew and i do the fist bump and we both go "Ba la la la la". I love this movie and when i saw this popping in, i knew there was going to be a lot of tears. Im glad you made it through though
Ever since I watched this, every time I see a fist bump, either in my head or out loud I do the “bah la la la la”
@@funnylilgalreacts :) I gotta also tell you, I can't watch this and not cry at Tadashi is here and Baymax saying, "I will always be with you." Makes me think of my grandparents
I lost my older brother a few years ago and even though we weren't close this stuff still gets me. I'd kill to find any kind of message or legacy he left behind like Hiro got.
Seeing your reaction to this, a movie like Bicentenial man would probably have you dying from dehydration. I'm glad you enjoyed this movie, its been one of my favorites since it came out.
34:55 and 42:10 Hiro gained a Big Sister figure in Gogo. I love seeing that relationship between them.
Seeing your reaction to Tadashi's death broke my heart, Angela. 😢
The blimps are wind turbines, it's proposed idea for wind power rather than a static tower. It's pretty cool because you can just pull them down to ground level if the weather gets dicey or need repairs
I’m so sorry to hear about your sister, when you said that I literally broke down 😭
I firmly believe the "You're going to help so many people buddy" is not intended for Baymax, but for Hiro, as Tadashi was so excited to show Baymax to his brother once he got Baymax working. I feel like that part of the message was intended to be a gift for Hiro
There was a sequel series on the Disney Channel that picks up right after the movie left off. It has most of the main voice cast return with the exception for the voices of Wasabi and Fred. It's 2D animation but it's really good and does a really good job of extending the story of the team.
the series is currently on Disney+. have watched it and its pretty good. and yes despite it being 2D animated series, it was pretty good.
There's also a Baymax spinoff series of the cartoon.
Also there’s a BH6 world in Kingdom Hearts 3, and it’s canon to the movie, as is the Toy Story world.
The area of soft robotics is pretty amazing.
Great reaction! I've seen this before and didn't cry, but watching you, I bawled my eyes out. So much for being a grown ass man I guess.
Men crying is wonderful!
Actually, I personally virtually never cried UNTIL I "grew up" (at like... 35 years old lol). That was the movie "Inside Out" that did it.
This is why I don’t want to tell Angela to watch Grave of the Fireflies, I don’t think there’s enough Kleenex in the world for that one.
@@kingleo75 Xander has recommended that for me…. 👀
@@funnylilgalreacts then give me fair warning so I can buy stock in Kleenex, I’m a 48 year old dude and fireflies destroys me for days. I lost my little girl when she was 6 and it’s too much at times.
@@funnylilgalreacts Oh gosh. Well, many of us are looking forward to that. But seriously, give yourself a day. Or two! (Afterwards).
As a fifty year old dude, I cried at least twice watching this movie, so good.
And then I had to cry for the reaction too.
My favorite was Gogo, I'm with her and all about the speed, I'd love to ride her bike.
Fun fact: Krei is voiced by Alan Tudyk.
Alan is practically in every Pixar movie. Also he is in the TV series Firefly.
Still a better role than Valentino in “Wish”… sorry for bringing down the mood, that character and movie being mediocrity at its finest isn’t his (or most of the cast and crew’s) fault.
Oh my days! The second I saw she was reacting to this I KNEW the Tadashi scene would be rough. All my love and hugs girl 😢
I actually put off watching this coz I knew Angela’s reaction would hit me hard and I’m already going through a time 😅
Oh nooo. Hope you had enough tissues? This must've definitely eaten you up 😂. I love your reactions by the way. So wholesome I must say. Glad I subscribed. Big Hero 6 still has a series after this movie. You should watch it in your spare time. It is amazing
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I was like, "oh shit...this is gonna gut her." That's before I knew about your sister. I am lucky enough that both of my siblings are still here, but I lost a lot of very close people across 24 years in the Army. There are some losses that never heal.
( claps for Yama) " yay Yama"
5 seconds later
" I don't like him "
Loved it 😂
I looove this movie and adore Baymax. I just went to Disneyland and my biggest highlight was taking a picture with Baymax and doing the ba-la-la-la fist bump 😆🥰
Sorry to hear about your loss. Sending big ❤, and I hope you are satisfied with the care Baymax provided you through the movie.
Yeah, this one punched me right in the feels. The handshake at the end killlllled me.
my school seriously needs a robot like baymax. also tadashi is the best brother i almost cried when he died
Wall-E... Big Hero 6... Inside Out... Up... even Wreck It Ralph - we really lost a lot when Disney decided to turn the corner. At least they'll never be able to take away these beautiful movies from us.
Wreck it-ralph 🔥

The floating windmills gather wind energy for the city. By getting higher in the atmosphereits aple to reach more turbulent winds. Disney Pixar held a children science competition for an invention idea and stated the winner would be put into the movie. The floating windmill was the competition winner
That's so cool!
i also like how as this is a combo of san fran and tokyo they are dressed as paper carp from childrens day
This movie did not need to go so hard for a Disney “superhero” movie but I’m so glad it did.
I’ve lost a lot of people the past 6 years and I feel like this movie has been healing. This and Coco
I love this movie, and even though I’ve seen it a thousand times, this reaction has made me cry myself. Wonderful reaction on a wonderful movie. ❤😄
This was such a weird Marvel comic to adapt but the changes they made were pretty brilliant. Especially Baymax.
Baymax- I am not fast.
Also Baymax able to out walk Hiro
Right?! 😂
IM SO EXCITED YOURE WATCHING THIS!! Has to be one of my favorite disney movies
I have literally sat down and said the words "I need to see Angela cry" because it was one of those days. LOL
If you want a movie that will make you cry, this is one of the few movies that gets me every time I watch it. "Empire of the Sun"
✋️😅 not surprised! And I'm a new subscriber! 😂 great reaction and glad you caught the end of credits scene 😁 always love reactors who are vulnerable yet positive and you are wonderful to watch along with 😊
Just FYI: there is an animated TV show that is a sequel to this movie that expands the world and the characters. It’s cute and I enjoyed it.
Actually, I’m pretty sure that Hiro’s actor, Ryan Potter was Russel in “Up”. So… yeah.
When Tony Stark was trying to find a replacement for Jarvis , the cards he was looking at had Tadashi Hamada on one , then of course he chose Friday lol. Big Hero Six is MCU cannon 😊
Admit it, you all come here to see me cry. Movie proceeds to out Up Up by making you fall in love with a character, get fully invested in it and then kill it at just the moment it means the most early on in the film.
33:35 This moment right here…god. It hurts. And it’s also so profound. It gets me every time.
You crying is a testament of love, remember your hair is for tears and a shirt for the sniffles.
I'm a fan
23:11 Is that a reference to Suite Life of Zack and Cody?😂 "IT'S THE LAW!"
As soon as I saw this thumbnail, I knew the amount of emotions you were about to have… And I love it!
If there’s something I love about your reactions is the true emotion you show, because that’s the same way I react as well.
Love you Angela! Great reaction as usual! ❣️🫶🏻
I thought the "Patrion Exclusive" block out of you blowing your nose was great comedic relief.
I love this channel so i know im about to watch a wave of tears. My little sister always cries watching this one because i almost died as a teenager and our parents werent too involved in our lives at the time. Luckily i got psychiatric help and was diagnosed with ptsd and have healed since that time. But a big hug to anyone dealing with the loss of a sibling right now- their love is always with you 💜
🖤🖤🖤🖤
Ah Gogo my childhood crush,
Also it’s been like a decade since this movie came out
Still not over tadashi’s death
I feel so sorry for you having to lose your older sister no-one should have to go through that
The plot took me by surprise, too, but I really enjoyed this movie - maybe in part because of that.
Omg I loved your reaction! Also, all the decor in your room is amazing ❤
“I will always be with you. I have offloaded my memory core into my hand.” Love how direct he is. 😁
Stay gold.
I've seen a lot of reactions to this and can't help but wonder why nobody asks where a robot with no pockets gets a lollipop
Sending a big healing hug, and a reminder that they’re always with us ❤️
