    You are right on when you say P2K is criminally under-rated. Such a nice all around gun.

    Carried the P2000 and P2000sk in 9mm for quite awhile, after a transition from the USP40. Currently on the VP9sk iteration for EDC. Can't go wrong in any case.

    HK needs to release a VP9c that is the P2000/USPc size. (A VP9sk with extended magazines is not the same) Until then, I will continue to carry my P2000 V4.1. Great video, definitely will be looking into Rick's services in the near future!

    I ccw my P30sk, and then have a P30 with an RMR for home defense, open belt carry, and concealed carry in the winter when I can wear additional clothing and get away with it.
    Internally all stock, only aftermarket modification is the red dot cut and plate from Langdon tactical. I would hope that would have no effect of potential reliably or anything like that

    Not sure I understand the characteristics of the trigger on the first round (double action) after Lazy Wolf's work. You said there's no "stacking". By stacking, are you referring to the trigger hitting a wall just before the hammer falls? If so, why would you not want the trigger to hit a wall just before firing on round 1 (trigger operating in double action) when the trigger *does* hit a wall just before firing on subsequent rounds (trigger operating in single action)? I want the trigger to hit a wall on all rounds as this tells me that any further rearward movement of the trigger will make the hammer fall. I much prefer that to pulling through 3/4" of creep on round 1 and then getting that nice crisp break on subsequent rounds. Am I understanding your terminology correctly? If so, why would you want such drastically different trigger characteristics between round 1 and subsequent rounds?
    BTW, love your thorough and comprehensive videos. I'm an HK head!

    • @teufelshundtactical
      @teufelshundtactical  Місяць тому

      Sometimes with double action, the action of pulling the trigger to the rear, while having to compress the hammer strut against the weight of the spring can feel like stacking, where instead of the weight smoothly and steadily increasing, it can feel like you’re taking another step up a series of stairs. Rick has smoothed this long DA pull out, reducing the overall weight, so that it rolls straight through the break. Then, when you reset for the follow on shots, that reset is shorter than standard and with a positive rebound and tactile feel against the wall again.
      It’s just an overall improvement that you can’t get from a simple drop in kit.

    Great video. I have the P2000SK LEM version. Finest sub compact pistol I've ever owned period! Anyone who carries this pistol appendix carry may want to check out TT Gunleather's appendix leather holster. It's a top notch handmade quality holster and has just the right cant to make it very concealable and comfortable. Thanks for sharing

    Honestly, as a big guy (6'3" 290lbs with XL hands), the P2000 is the most perfect CCW size for me, especially with the flat baseplate and the 17rd mag kit in the factory 13rd mags. Give me a full 15+1 in something slight smaller than my G19s. The only other piece that I have that "competes" for EDC time is my CZ P-07. And I need that hammer for my P2K.

    Just came across this awesome channel! I fell in love with HK after I got my VP9SK a couple years ago. question for @teufelshund Tactical: HK has a micro-compact in the works - any news on the time frame for release to civilian population? Also - is the P2000 SK smaller than the P30SK?

    • @teufelshundtactical
      @teufelshundtactical  4 місяці тому +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video. Tons more info on the channel. Yes, the P2000SK is slightly smaller than the P30SK, but only marginally. It’s more ergonomic differences. As for future weapons, I cannot comment.

    The P2000 is very overlooked. I bought the first one I ever saw right then and there and I've probably only seen a handful of the "full size" versions since, although the SKs aren't frequent sights in stores for me either.

    Newer/young gun owner here and:
    People trick out their guns for many reasons: Blaming equipment instead of their lack of skills and training, because everyone else is doing it and so must they, they just like nice things, just to show off or flex, they like to tinker, and RARELY: because their skill has reached the point where these modifications are warranted to close gaps in performance of the firearm.
    Favorite example is tricked out Glocks that aren't as reliable as the stock configuration, 2-4x more expensive all for a marginal increase in performance.
    The stock triggers on HK and Glock are not nearly as bad as the internet makes them out to be. The grip angle likely doesn't suck; you do, your stock barrel is more accurate than you'll probably ever be, I can go on. People need to be honest with why they are doing the mods they do to their carry guns, and use extreme prudence when shopping around for modifications. We must shift the 2a and defense culture from a consumerism and trend following mindset to a more practical one or at least one that is more conscious of their decision making.
    I know my reasons: I'll admit that I enjoy having nice things and if there is a nicer option I'll go for it. (Within reason) The little extra splurge is justified because I do a minimum amount of shooting/dry-fire per month for my skills to eventually take advantage of the "better" parts anyway. Been a HK fan since a kid, and of course John Wick before they become advertising for Taran Tactical.

    Is there a stock parts way of upgrading the p30 lem so it matches something like the Grayguns/ltt version?

    • @teufelshundtactical
      @teufelshundtactical  7 місяців тому +1

      Factory options to improve the action, including shortening the reset would be LEM 4.1 and some match components.

    • @boxywest2963
      @boxywest2963 6 місяців тому +1

      I wasn’t aware the P30 had match available parts. I’m very interested in this.

    • @lazywolfguns2471
      @lazywolfguns2471 6 місяців тому +2

      The factory offers nothing that shortens the reset length, over travel, re-uptake travel, or efficiency of motion of the trigger in any of it stages for any of its pistols- *with the exception of the v4.1 LEM CDA kit for P30 and P2k- which *only* reduces the long light first initial LEM take up by about 1/3- it does not shorten reset or any other values. By it self the v4.1 kit isn’t going to make much noticeable difference at all versus the standard LEM, but with LWG action work it does shine as an additional efficiency enhancement.
      The only other factory option part that can effect efficiency of an HK pistol values of trigger motion is the match trigger with adjustable OT stop *only* made for the USP/HK45- there is no option for P30/P2k, *but* the adjustment screw itself in the match trigger shoe that effects these minor changes is not stable in my experience and can turn itself in or out through time and use.
      So…That’s it, and neither of these things or the available drop in GGI short reset parts are going to have any sort of final impact that make HK pistols anywhere close to the individually hand fit high end custom work that LWG provides.

      @@lazywolfguns2471 do you use HK parts and springs or a different vendor? Some people have had their LW triggers on their VP9s lose the blade safety but they ordered them from HK parts so maybe a supplier issue?

      @@TheRancor53 I was the design consultant for the LWG VP9 triggers for HKP, but unfortunately I don’t have the time or ability to have my personal ocd oversight over the manufacture, assembly, sales, of each trigger, etc.
      As there have been a very small percentage of reported triggers having that failure, relative to the number of sales over the years, I have jumped on top of and all over it. That’s my name on those parts, and I will not have issues with parts with my name attached to them. I discovered it to be 100% an intermittent manufacturing defect in the trigger safety tab that only affected some VP9’s with specific +\- spec tolerances in that specific area of the frame.
      As I said, I immediately jumped on it, and I have worked with the shop HKP uses to make these triggers thoroughly to redesign the tab in an unnoticeable way when assembled, that doesn’t come at the expense of any of its durability or reliability, to assure that even if the manufacturer defect issue happens to ever again occur, it will never be able to result in any sort issue.
