- Are you a wealthy and successful individual?
An esteemed gentleman or lady (for all 3 of you that watch the channel) that’s worked hard their whole life to earn that wealth you’re unapologetically proud of?
Does your existing luxury watch collection already feature several Rolex’s? Perhaps your watch box is worth well over 100K?
If your answer to all of the above is yes, then watch out these guys are coming for your money….

Shout to the flippers who got burnt holding the bag. HAHAHA
Thumbs up, but gotta tell you-none of the Rolex models I’m stalking seem to have taken much of a hit
😂😂😂
Ikr. I love rolex but the flippers make it hard to get
It’s truly great to see. I look forward to telling my AD to suck a fart when I “get the call.”
😂😂
No such think as a Watch investment!!!! Buy what you like and wear it....hate the flippers that are taking watches from genuine customers to make a quick profit!!!
Longines are on the up. They are interesting in their own right with their own designs and history and their sizing and proportions are improving along with their quality and innovation. Tudor on the other hand who will bang out any old thick doorstop of a watch as long as it looks like a old Rolex. Also the quality issues and design blunders are mounting up at a alarming rate. The whole “looks like a old Rolex” thing is getting very boring now too especially as the prices are going up as quickly as the quality is going down. Christopher Ward are also improving at a impressive pace and just like Longines they are getting the proportions and quality just right with a lower price point but without the history and brand kudos that comes with Longines.
One thing I would say about the CW waitlist - at least it's an actual waitlist, and not some infuriating tantric dance with a Rolex AD while they decide whether your money is good enough to buy one of their... let's face it - mass produced watches.
You picked almost every watch I've been stalking in this superb video.
Very true! They’re a victim of their own success i guess but I’m not a fan of the £1000 deposit thing, perhaps £100 but even Rolex don’t explicitly ask for deposits first. I’m interested to see what price they settle at on the secondary market once this next batch of bel cantos start getting shipped
And thanks! which others have you been stalking?
You have this spot on in every way. I’m just waiting on my Bel canto. Went in to try on the glass box but 6k hmmmm. I have a Monaco and the price of these have crept right up as well. The new ones in particular look fantastic but just a bit high on cost
@@vinnyfrancis The Breitling Premier B09 pistachio dial. It's such a beautiful piece to wear and I reckon that colour will still look good when the current green craze has settled. I want one.
And talk to anyone who owns a CW and ask them how their customer service is. I know someone who own a CW and he sings high praises for CE customer service.
Hey Vinny, great shout out to those other brands! I have recently become a proud owner of a CW watch, and it is absolutely stunning! The build quality is superb! It’s rather wonderful to see most of the precious metal Rolex models being sold under list now on the grey market. Rolex ADs must now be worried that they aren’t going to be able to sell those same watches for retail in the current climate! Thanks for your refreshing and always honest view of the watch world. 👍🏽
Great to hear that the quality is good from an owner with experience of the brand, that’s always the biggest question with a new brand, is it going to last!? My JLC reverso is only 4 years old and already having issues with movement having stopped, so longevity is a big concern, thanks for watching
@@vinnyfrancishehe.. I have a Q3978480 from 2019 with a movement going on strike. What model is your JLC and have you had it serviced yet?
Stay tuned.....I'll have a Christopher Ward '12' soon enough. The watch is just terrific for what it is, that being a value homerun. And though you only brushed by it, I bought a Tissot PRX in blue somewhat on a whim and absolutely love it. For a $600 watch I don't think it gets any better than the PRX.
Completely agree, I have spoken about the PRX on th channel at length before and that’s Gold pvd piece is from my own collection so i’m a great fan, I bought this to satisfy my lust for the VC 222
Vinny you are 100% correct. You described exactly how I feel. I am blessed to have a collection and financial situation that fits your description and I do get bored. Lately have been approached by ADs that never returned my calls before and even considered new Brands like Avanti. Your point of view and honest opinion is exactly what I need in times like this. Basically if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Cheers mate, keep up the good work !!
Thanks for sharing! Personally I understand the growing reputation and credit avanti are getting but i feel buying one new at retail is just too risky at such a high price with little
to no history, buy secondary market for this brand to play it safer unless money is no object
Brilliant video - so refreshing to see these watches talked about!
Cheers Dan! I’d be happy with all of them in my collection.
Yes. Bought the Tag Heuer GlassBox reverse panda. Walked in for the blue, but walked out with the black.
Oooh congrats! It’s a very sexy watch in the reverse Panda I agree! Interesting that the date window is positioned differently too
Love your channel Vinny. Keep up the excellent work. Top man.
Cheers Matthew!
I've been thinking well of CW and Longines for some time, Longines especially. I was very impressed with the New Tag Carrera and once I'd seen the blue I had to have it. I baulked at the price but customers can play AD games too, and the SA I deal with fast tracked me to a Polar Explorer 2 and a 41 green OP to sweeten the deal. No regrets and if TAG keep up this game they are going places.
Nice! I’m envious as I realllyyy like that Carrera, have you been impressed with the quality of it for the price? dial finishing perfect up close?
@@vinnyfrancis I'm happy overall but I certainly wouldn't have paid full retail without the sweeteners. Dial finish is good and the movement, Strap should be better. Sometimes we buy with our hearts though.
Well played!. Might try that one myself...
Carrera a beauty. Congrats.
Good stuff! Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
i dont know why anyone would be surprised if we are experiencing of the peak of a hobby that will never really be the same in the future. Sure there will always be a watch market but i dont think the enthusiast market will ever be like it was a year ago.
I had 5, yes FIVE, Rolex's on order... 3 for almost a year now. Pepsi, Root beer, Panda, Yacht Master (Tit) and Skydweller (mint). I've cancelled the Yacht Master and Panda and Have preordered the Bel Canto for this Dec delivery. I've also purchased bronze William Wood Bronze Ruby, which I really love, (wearing it right now). While I'd like an Aquanaut Travel Time, AD time is 2+ yrs. I've always loved watches, and given the incredible wait times, and over the years, I've purchased several 'old Rolex's' ie, birth year of myself, my 2 boys, father, and grandfathers (Longines). (1968, 1993, 1996, 1947, 1919, 1909). My first grandchild will be born this month, and I've been after my AD to get me one of my Rolex's on order, so I'll have it for her. But, thus far, no joy. Given the incredible wait times, I've looked at many 'off brands' and have been very happy with what I've found.
The Citizen Tsuyosa colorful dials are eye catching for only $450. The bracelet may need to be improved, and it has a Miyota movement. Just wait a few months and I am sure retailers will discount.
I dig this watch but the bracelet is junk. Throw it on a very nice leather strap and its looks improve exponentially.
I did actually mention this watch before the video was edited, i’d call this a great watch for the price for sure but agreed on quality of dial finishing and bracelet is indeed typical of the price it sits at. Whilst is live the dial design colours i feel i’d still always just want the Oyster Perpetual its testing to emulate so that’s why this watch didn’t make the list for me but i have considered it!
Great video Vinny. Many thanks.
Very welcome mate, thanks for watching
Superb video again Vinny
Cheers thanks for watching! Have a good evening
Nice one, good video. Deep enthusiast for 25 years. Not scared to buy, just looking for good information. Well done.
Thanks for watching! all the best on the future of your collecting journey
Interesting Video: Pre-ordering and parting with a cash deposit for that pleasure would be a red flag for me. I realise that internet alternate sales methods are in their infancy but it's a watch...and there will always be another watch.
I have 6 watches in my stable and I believe that that number is my limit - it will be one in, and one out from now on. I am conditioned to lose on secondhand goods and the next few years (in the UK) might be tough!
Watches are an itch we like to scratch. Some are complex, expensive and ingenious jewellery but at some time in the future Watches may well be seen for what they are - obsolete.
Spot on my friend. Just don't consign your watch if you get bored. Yikes!
Hahah tell me about it, I did a video way back about the perils of consignment and my terrible experience with another dealer, go check it out😉
Definitely tempted by the CW 12 in titanium. Very handsome, colourful and affordable. 👍🇬🇧
Go for it! I’m contemplating the purple! Fume dial too, can’t get any sexier
Very interesting video.
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for the feedback
TAG pricing has gone silly in my view. Was goint to go for a Monaco left hand crown with calibre 11 at £4 mark about two years ago, which I thought over priced but with discount around £3250. Now that watch is over £6k with smaller % discount generally - just cannot justify that on a TAG.
Very true! though we must remember that Tag are the same group as Hublot and their prices are way off
NEVER PAY FULL MSRP. for ANY brand. That’s for any watch. There is always an AD willing to come down. maybe I’m lucky I live in a big city.
That longines piece looks great.
PS. Bremont should be considered at this price point?
yes that’s a good point though i’ve yet to really hear of a Bremont piece in particular that has captured the attention of the entire community but they certainly have a strong brand
Investors don’t buy watches. Speculators buy watches. You’re way better off just buying the S&P if you’re looking to actually “invest”
When this jock speaks,
Men listen.
Another A+ video.
Hahah thanks!
those arms are getting big Vinny, you turning into the incredible Hulk?🤣 Ordered the Bel Canto last year with the titanium bracelet, as supposed to have got it in june but they told me its not yet ready without giving me a date. The deposit is refundable if you change your mind, but im still buying. As for the 12, again the titanium model is stunning, i have a few Rolex but why if you can get a watch like that for the price? Plus you prob wont get stabbed or your hand cut off😁
That’s a great point! i’m getting asked every day, which greta watch can i buy and wear free of concern on a night in london for example? that’s a whole new segment of under the radar watches that are less likely to put you at risk…and haha i’m proud to have a Hulk in my own collection so I guess so😉
@@vinnyfrancis those muggers wont go near you mate with those guns on each arm😂
Hahaha! well thankfully i don’t spend too much time in London anyway, Manchester is much more safe
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
VINNY- Hopefully you will be doing a video on the "Timepiece Gentleman" ANTHONY FARRER and the claims he stole millions of $$ in Consignment watches and partied it all away on Cars, Hookers, Drugs, Alcohol... The "Grey Market" is for sure affected by this!
Oh it is affected, If i’ll say anything about it, it’s what i’ve advised everyone before. Question everything, always. Be critical, always. No different here. It’s made a farce of the industry and turned it into theatre. Question how much of it is true, how much is exaggerated. I’m sure whatever the debt is it will be miraculously repaid then cue the netflix series…
Let’s make the timepieces the star of the show again please🥱
@@vinnyfrancis Agreed, 100%. The situation might be a little of both, mysteriously nobody can find any evidence of Police involvement or litigation yet!!
@@vinnyfrancis Just subscribed by the way, love your viewpoints!!
Mido is another brand for entry-level watches!
Damn i missed out the decompression! that’s a killer watch
How is this not the biggest watch channel lol
Hahaha it’s not dramatic enough i guess🤷♂️
Watch Vinny killing it
Thanks mate!
Christopher Ward is an incredibly cringe venture capital project from the guys who sold The Early Learning Centre - those boring wooden toys that kids hate lol
Get a Sinn
Longines zulu time all the way.
