How was he even able to liquidate that much merchandise without anyone else hearing about the sales?

CRM always sets the standards in what a grey market dealer should be. Great content! And i very respectful of addressing the TPG situation but not over doing it. Kudos as always!
Consignment is an easy way out for Greys to shift the risk of having to hold inventory. However if someone screws them and steals the watch, they have to make the seller whole and is on the hook for the full value of the watch. Greys who do a lot of consignment business are shady and I will NEVER do business with them. It’s an indication that they may have cash flow issues.
Consignments now are naturally higher across the board due to the state of the market. It's not necessarily a sign of shadiness, but you still need to do your homework when it comes to working with a dealer who is willing to promote and try to sell your pieces. Unfortunately, too many people mistake social clout for morality. It's a very dangerous mistake to make.
I can understand consignment maybe if the business is just starting but once there is enough success, there’s no reason for consignment. The business should have sufficient cash to purchase the pieces they think they can make money on. If the business has been around for a while and doesn’t have the cash to purchase my watch, then they are not making money and are not a successful business, so why would I want to do business with them?
You do understand that consignment is the only reason people can sell there watches and get 90 percent of retail. If you want dealers to buy your watch they would have to give you 50 percent of what it’s worth. Just like any other business that buys items and resells.
@@survivalSCThere’s no reason you can’t sell your own watch directly to another individual. Consignment makes no sense for most folks, you’re just introducing more risk and adding expenses.

No one ever should have to consign a watch. The seller has very limited protection. If you have to , wait with the watch whilst they take pictures etc. Never leave your watch with anyone. Would you let someone else look after £50k in cash ? A proper established grey dealer will buy it from you , if not walk away. Most on you tube want you to consign as they don’t want to commit on a falling market. They never offer consignment on a rising market
It's a service, just like an auction house. Some people don't want to deal with the selling of a not-so-liquid asset. What you need to do is make sure that whoever you're doing this with is reputable. Followers and views don't necessarily mean moral.
Its so nice to hit a Friday and know our favourite family will be joining us with another video. I did used to enjoy watching TPG videos but there was always too much drama for me, and I have found that honesty and drama rarely go together. CRM have earned their badge of honour and honesty IMO. The people attacking consignment probably don’t have any watches to sell. Without consignment dealers would have to offer to buy for 50 percent of what it’s worth. And some watches would be even under 50 percent. So the dealers offering to do consignment are helping the customers. Example look at car business. When I would go to dealer auctions. We were buying for around 50 percent of what the car was worth. And some cars went for 25 percent.
Watch enthusiast for 57 years... What a different world today with people looking for supposed "status", instead of admiring a timepiece for its quality, heritage, tradition and class. The sums paid are amazing! Almost all watches I have I bought many years ago (at a far lesser price) to mark special milestones in life. Each one actually has a story behind it, and most I have never worn, as they are important keepsakes as I do not want them to be damaged. That is the curse of a true enthusiast. Lastly, I would only buy watches at the factory boutique in Geneva where I have enjoyed a long relationship. One caution tip for buyers: Never buy a watch without box and papers! Those are items that usually thieves do not have when they attempt to sell it.
Well what do you expect people to do? I mean you can't wear your CAR on your WRIST! So how do you suggest someone indicates their level of wealth at ALL TIMES other than by wearing a $2 Million wristwatch?
And I think one of the differences compared to 60 years ago is that most people CAN'T purchase a watch from the factory boutique in Geneva... Even if they have the money.
This is the reason why I said when I’m ready to buy my first Rolex I’m going to buy from CRM. Family business and I appreciate the business that have integrity and separate themselves from the bad apples. God bless ❤
The biggest problem Anthony faces is legal litigation and committing fraud and theft. If he did it for because he was addicted to drugs and alcohol that’s a personal issue that’s not an excuse for losing $5 million worth of consignment watches. I remember some months back his car was repossessed and he got kicked out of his penthouse those were signs that he had no money and he was living a fake life style

If your dealer isn’t keeping customer funds in a trust or insuring every single piece that is taken on consignment you are essentially risking your watch.
so the reason TPG is coming out now because the secondary market on luxury watches is dropping. He's probably done the math and realized some high deficit is in play, he's coming out asap. This is classic Beverly Hills thuggery.
The same sh*t happens in any market that's in a prolonged bear mode, including stocks. Some people give into the pressure and become unethical. It's not the market. It's the players.
When you buy anything pre-owned, it's always buyer beware. If you're trying flex and chisel you get what you get. Of course the seller has the obligation to be honest. But nobody knows the whole day to day history of a pre-owned anything. Pay the extra and buy unworn if you want assurance.
That’s just a dumb question. The guy that thinks a sub is more desirable than a Daytona because they sell more subs doesn’t understand basic economics of supply/demand. People were paying 3X retail on the Daytona. Try selling a sub at 3X retail and see how many you sell. You will find out real quick which is more desirable
This is why you don’t do consignment !!! Better to sell and loose a little and have the money in your pocket instead of being greedy and taking a risk of loosing it all!!! When consigning anything make sure you the seller is protected!!
It's like any relationship that requires trust, which most do. You can have a trustworthy and capable vs an untrustworthy and incapable financial advisor. Your future returns can be a lot different with one vs the other.
@Crmjewelers trust can, and usually does, get broken when the cash gets big enough. To understand how broken the consignment concept is, remember this: if you give a dealer your car to sell on consignment, holding the legal title in your hands, and that dealer sells the car to an unknowing customer while not paying you . . . You just lost that car. There was a great episode of American Greed that covered this. I know a lot of watch dealers make bank out of collectors using the consignment model. But the reality is that once you send your watch off on these deals you have no power to recoup if the dealer decides to keep the cash. The current drama is just the latest, not the first or last.
Watches aren't hard to sell, they're hard to sell at prices that are above a fair market value. Not saying you're charging unfair prices but MANY used watch dealers just hype up prices and set the market value.
Here’s the thing I see with crm, one just the gut feeling check, these guys have knowledge experience business practices etc that take years to acquire and can only be acquired by actually doing the work. Anthony never could show that, his videos were flash no substance. Second of all with CRM what you see is that this is a family business there is a level of pride that short term money could never fuck with their pride and personal morals. The father builds the business to give it to to the son, the son would never want to shame himself for the business his father built, it’s just a business built brick by brick on honesty trust morals hard work etc. it’s great to see and I hope they get a flood of business instead of lose business because of the hole Anthony left in the market.
@@Crmjewelers thank you guys for sharing your videos entertaining us watch fans and being a trustworthy honest group of people in a world that could use more businesses like you. I hope the young guys coming up take note of how you guys do stuff. I would love a video that takes it back to the beginning of Carlos selling watches out of his car!!!! Some of the ups and downs during your long and storied career!!
After watching some of these TikTok videos, and seeing how they handle the watches in New York, I'm thinking that I will only buy brand new from authorized dealers.
He will be fighting from jail as it is fraud to not pay on consignment pieces. He sold property that is not his. Only thing he will be tugging is his cell mate.
Issue with consignment is. It’s so EASY to scam. The dealer can take the watch, sell it, not tell you, take that money and buy a watch with it, flip it and make another 5k then pay the consignee….no one knows UNLESS there’s an issue. There is a LOT of this to come.
The first three letters of consignment means to CON which means persuade (someone) to do or believe something, typically by use of a deception. I would never buy from a dealer that deals with consignment watches. After this Anthony episode people would be incredibly stupid to deal with Grey Market dealers who operate utilizing such method. You want to buy a watch this is the price take it or leave it. I want to purchase a watch I take it or leave it. That is just as simple as it gets. Well thanks for the video CRM, and this is nothing personal it's just my opinion. Similar: swindle defraud cheat trick fleece dupe deceive rook exploit squeeze milk bleed fool take advantage of mislead delude hoax hoodwink bamboozle string along embezzle do sting diddle rip off take for a ride pull a fast one on put one over on take to the cleaners bilk gull finagle fiddle swizzle swizz sell a pup to stiff euchre bunco hornswoggle gazump cozen sharp mulct noun an instance of deceiving or tricking someone. A Con Artist!
@Crmjewelers As I previously stated. It's my opinion wrong or right. We are all entitled to have one. That being said, it's nothing personal to any Grey Market dealers. Ask yourself just one question: On consignment, who takes most if not all of the risk? This is nothing personal CRM. As a matter of fact, I have left many positive messages before, but this consignment deal is not one that I think would be beneficial to the owner of the watch at all. Respect that for what it is, as I respect people in general.
Please tell me you are kidding about the etymology of "con". Its Latin for "WITH" "SIGN" is seal or word. They used to seal letters in a wax stamp so you knew it was legit. The "seal" or "word" wasnt broken Consent "with knowledge" It has NOTHING to do with what you wrote.
Those Pepsi's are beautiful! Love the channel. I wear a Deepsea daily - love the weight and it's built like a tank wearing a tuxedo, tough and classy! Have a great weekend! Cheers!

Great content to keep the watch enthusiast abreast of the current watch market climate. I'd just say that the same thing that happened to TPG can happen to any grey market dealer, and even to the most honest and trusted. Just as Carlos mentioned loosing hundreds of thousands on the ceramic AP's, it could be just a matter of time before the cost of the inventory you carry, becomes less than what you have invested in those timepieces. At some point, one has to make very difficult decisions and I'd be surprise if the decision starts with making family suffer over a particular client. When the tough gets tough, regardless of someone's intention, one will always look after oneself and forget what the rest will say.
Thank you for your feedback, but I respectfully disagree. To start, difficult times do not justify immoral behavior. Second of all, difficult times is not what TPG/Anthony went through. What caused all this was the commingling of client fund for personal use. NOTHING justifies that and only a person without scruples would scoop to such a level.
@@Crmjewelers, when it comes to business failures, it's not always malicious intent. Today you buy an expensive home, tomorrow you buy a boat, the next you buy luxury vehicles and before you know it, you owe more than you can pay back. This has been perfect recipe for the demise of many businesses. Even if you disagree, difficult times, leads you into making difficult decision, and those difficult decision will more times than not, benefit those that are closest to you. Now, would you rather have your family homeless or living below the means you have established for them or have someone else's family homeless because of the means they have established for themselves?
It's kinda ironic when it comes to Anthony Farrer, because people have been warning about him for over a year. Ad still lot's of people in the watch community on youtube protected him and kept collabing with him even if their clients told them that he was a scammer.
I'm just surprised that he was able to sell $5 Million worth of consignment items, and spend the money before anyone realized! Hope he enjoyed a REALLY NICE lifestyle if it couldn't be funded by the actual 'commission' he rightfully would have received from moving $5 Million worth of watches... I mean, he'd actually would have been considered to be doing a GREAT JOB if he was able to make all those sales, unless of course he unloaded everything for pennies on the dollar for 'quick cash'?
@@StreetPreacherr He must have sold it on the cheap these last few years. He was living off credit and there was a huge crash in Rolex. Hence he had to sell cheap to repay his loan. This is the problem when living off credit and there is a crash in prices of goods. Same applies to the property world where people buy properties on credit. His videos of paying back will take decades in this market. He will stop after a few videos.
Is a 2020 Pepsi the same price as 2023 Pepsi? Or did he have to pay more? Me personally if they are both new and the exact same it wouldn't matter to me. But one has little damage. So give me the New New..

I think Anthony feels long as he apologizes and he's not hiding that All Is Forgiven, and if thr law doesn't catch up to him and arrest him its probably just another stunt
Like you guys said you built a relationship with clients and dealers. So your business is built on integrity and honesty. You just have to know who you're dealing with. That guy already had some suspect dealing in the past. I research companies before I do business.
People forget using dealers or consignment is a convenience just like selling a car except with luxury products the owners of the watches are willing to pay for the convenience of someone else doing the work than themselves listing the watch on websites and trying to get every dollar out of it
Another weekly update in the books. I have to say I’m not fond of the dealer in the seybold building. There’s too much going on the walls that draw your attention away from the watch display case just my 2 cents worth. I like how you guys designed your display cases much better. Anyhow well Anthony has finally put the last nail in his coffin. It’s unreal the about of deceit he has done. There’s no way he’ll be able to repay that debt. Like Dan said Ponzi scheme for sure and there will be a price to pay for what he’s done. I had to go back and look again as my comment was displayed 🤪. Hope everyone has a great weekend and be safe out there. There really isn’t many grey market watch dealers I would trust but, you guys have earned that distinction for me. If I had the kind of money to give you a $50,000 watch on consignment I would do it in a second. You all are the real deal and it shows through your passion for the watch game.
Watches are meant to be worn……created to be worn. Therefore scratches are battle scars and give a piece character, as well as stories to tell. As a collector for many years now, with a preference towards Vintage, I love watch stories. I def wouldn’t have traded that 2020 for a 2023. Keep up the amazing content CRM, been following you guys since the beginning!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
What a great episode, I love the the way Carlos does deals, loaded with panache 👌🏼. Comment re TPG is spot on, just a well laid out Ponzi scheme, nothing more! Anthony knew what he was into, was bleeding cash and these things are always good whilst the markets up, takes a turn and the wheels come off. Good opportunity for the established grey market guys like you to elevate yourselves with your reputation and pedigree. Finally purchased a batch of those raffle tickets, hoping to win and get over from Dubai to pick up my Patek and meet you guys 😉. Keep up the good work
Anthony's conduct has jeopardized the whole gray market industry. To blatantly use investor's, clients funds to satisfy his lavish lifestyle is irresponsible, worse! some dealers are out of pocket due to his fraudulent activities, along with leaving bad publicity that you can't put a dollar value on loss revenue's. Unless he has a shamrock up you know where, I can't see another investor taking a gamble when it also involves unpaid consignments.
Thank you John for your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. Industries are always temporarily impacted by big scams, until the dust settles and most consumers realize that it's not the industry, but the players who are at fault. It was no different with Bernie Madoff in the stock market, Sam Bankman-Fried in crypto, etc. It's not the industry. It's the players. Know your players before doing business with them. Don't skip steps when it comes to this or it'll come back to bite you in the arse. Oh, and don't mistake social media views for honesty or scruples. They're not necessarily proportional.
Lmao nobody buys Hublot anymore because of Nico😂😂 I use to Love the Omega brand but everyone kept crapping on me that it wasn't a great brand I get it's not Rolex AP or patek Philippe but I really like it

Consignment is not ALWAYS a con, but if it’s the majority of your business, it’s a con.
Watches aren't hard to sell, they're hard to sell at prices that are above a fair market value. Not saying you're charging unfair prices but MANY used watch dealers just hype up prices and set the market value.
Daytona is, no brainer. TPG continues to be a mess. A toxic one at that.
I am waiting on the gofundme for Anthony.....
Thank you Raul for your vote of confidence and encouraging words.
CRM are the ones to deal with. Even Rayban Shark gives off the wrong vibe, he just can't bring himself to call out his UA-cam buddy TPG.
After watching some of these TikTok videos, and seeing how they handle the watches in New York, I'm thinking that I will only buy brand new from authorized dealers.
Love that vintage yellow gold day datejust on the jubilee bracelet.
👍👍
😎
Wow!!! Unbelievable, he was always one to say he was clean and honest!!!! Money is Root of all evil!!!
The love of money is the root of all evil.
Anthony is a tugger. I mean a fighter. He will tug his way out of this mess. 😂
He will be fighting from jail as it is fraud to not pay on consignment pieces. He sold property that is not his. Only thing he will be tugging is his cell mate.
@@RobertLee-wi5kc Antugney may get lucky and tug some rich dudes 😂
Issue with consignment is. It’s so EASY to scam. The dealer can take the watch, sell it, not tell you, take that money and buy a watch with it, flip it and make another 5k then pay the consignee….no one knows UNLESS there’s an issue. There is a LOT of this to come.
Dealing with trustworthy dealers is now more important than ever.
That sounds like a PONZI scheme, which I believe are illegal? The only problem with consignment is if you're dealing with CRIMINALS...
Consignment is a huge scam in classic cars.pushing plastic bonds unibody that is deadly on the road. No one is held responsible. Consignment
27:08 That ap are beautiful. Masterpieces ever.
If you can’t afford to buy stock you shouldn’t be a watch dealer. Consignment equals free overdraft !

So because there's a scammer in an industry, the entire industry is a scam? Nice linear theory you got there. Very interesting.
Just outragious... people consign Art. Even furniture....
Please tell me you are kidding about the etymology of "con". Its Latin for "WITH"
"SIGN" is seal or word. They used to seal letters in a wax stamp so you knew it was legit. The "seal" or "word" wasnt broken
Consent "with knowledge"
It has NOTHING to do with what you wrote.
Those Pepsi's are beautiful! Love the channel. I wear a Deepsea daily - love the weight and it's built like a tank wearing a tuxedo, tough and classy! Have a great weekend! Cheers!
Have an amazing weekend my friend!
CLAM cases, say we are about to experience a massive watch price crash
We've been experiencing it for 18 months already
He’s going to be 99 years old still telling people about how much he lost on a ceramic AP an two Richard Milles 😂
Cubans repeat themselves a lot.
The Submariner the face of Rolex, but that's like saying the BMW 3-Series if the face of BMW. It's not the most desirable one, but the one it's best known for.
AP 26579CE, Ceramic perpetual calendar the most beautiful and best ultra luxury haute horology timepiece! Makes Patek, Vacheron, and Richard Mille all crawl and cry to their grave! CRM, the best!
The apology didn't seem that sincere
I mean, not after the follow-up video 🤷
Clout chasing is a thing in our modern world my friend, unfortunately.
@@Crmjewelers very true!
😎
Luv you guys. If I ever get out to Miami, I will definitely stop by. Stay safe.
imperfection? Just send it back to rolex.. They will change the bezel for sure!
Consignment is not a scam unless you plan not to pay people after selling it lol
I think people have to think very hard before they consign there watchs to grey dealers unfortunately, i bet Anthony is not the only one who has used watchs.
Love you guys, this is what makes you unique💪
I will no longer be doing any business with any consignment jewelers. TPG is the 4th company this yr that closed.
We're in a recession. Lots of companies are closing down, not just watch companies.
I think Anthony feels long as he apologizes and he's not hiding that All Is Forgiven, and if thr law doesn't catch up to him and arrest him its probably just another stunt
What he feels and reality are two different things
what can you buy for 8500? A franck muller vanguard.
Like you guys said you built a relationship with clients and dealers. So your business is built on integrity and honesty. You just have to know who you're dealing with. That guy already had some suspect dealing in the past. I research companies before I do business.
People forget using dealers or consignment is a convenience just like selling a car except with luxury products the owners of the watches are willing to pay for the convenience of someone else doing the work than themselves listing the watch on websites and trying to get every dollar out of it
Correct. 👍
😎
What's the deal with Hublot? Do they have a shady past, or, do the pieces break or something?
I like the aesthetics of their watches !
I meet Anthony at the airport he bought me a drink nice guy lol
Look forward to what’s next!!
Thank you my friend. Lots of shady characters in this industry (unfortunately), but lot's of good ones as well. What you cannot do is mistake social media popularity for ethics.
@@Crmjewelers 100% correct.

If I had the kind of money to give you a $50,000 watch on consignment I would do it in a second. You all are the real deal and it shows through your passion for the watch game.
🙏
Watches are meant to be worn……created to be worn. Therefore scratches are battle scars and give a piece character, as well as stories to tell. As a collector for many years now, with a preference towards Vintage, I love watch stories. I def wouldn’t have traded that 2020 for a 2023. Keep up the amazing content CRM, been following you guys since the beginning!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you my friend for the long-term support.
😎
What a great episode, I love the the way Carlos does deals, loaded with panache 👌🏼. Comment re TPG is spot on, just a well laid out Ponzi scheme, nothing more! Anthony knew what he was into, was bleeding cash and these things are always good whilst the markets up, takes a turn and the wheels come off. Good opportunity for the established grey market guys like you to elevate yourselves with your reputation and pedigree. Finally purchased a batch of those raffle tickets, hoping to win and get over from Dubai to pick up my Patek and meet you guys 😉. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the support and for entering our competition my friend. The next week we film the experience of the first winner. Can't wait!!!
Carlos is the best. I will not buy or sell to anyone else in Miami than him.
Anthony will fake his death and simply disappear , He is a very crafty individual .
I build custom Seiko mods that cost 250$ and even I keep my customers updated. Lol

Carlos do dealers actually know the meaning of “Mazal”?
It means luck in Hebrew.
A lot do, yes.
Lmao nobody buys Hublot anymore because of Nico😂😂 I use to Love the Omega brand but everyone kept crapping on me that it wasn't a great brand I get it's not Rolex AP or patek Philippe but I really like it
Hey DAN, can't Carlos use his relationships to get Anthony farrer to Cuba, to dig him a whole once and for all? Thé Guy IS killing thé grey market on his own.. Frédéric still from Paris France...
There are always bad apples in every industry my friend, but they don't make the entire industry.
Greediness with money is really bad
I feel it is a bad time to consign anything with anyone, due to Trevor
A crooked participant does not make a crooked process.
Grey markets in general have always had a bad rap with sleazy people. When you are i business of any kind you only have your own reputation and your customers referrals.
They can afford 100k watches, i think they got good lawyers.
"B*tches get st*tches" just wait until they catch him. Anthony will end up having some "accident" because he owe a lot of money to the wrong kind of people. What goes around, comes around
He owes them to Jewish russian mafia. Not going to go well for him
