The only thing I'm wondering is, will the bigger lights eventually get so hot that is melts the cups. I love the idea, but that is my only draw back,

I appreciate the things you do to share your "whatever you touch turns to gold". I mean seriously you were patiently doing this outside your office wearing those uncomfortable masks. I BOW thee! The end result is indeed worthy and I am grateful for all the simple things u bring on a silver platter. Thank you crazy Beccy. 😉😘

SanctuaryHut Thanks Malathy. It was a serious labor of love to do this project. I can't tell you how many trips it took to the stores to continue to buy more cups, more lights, more glue sticks ...LOL. At my hourly rate, thats one expensive Sparkle ball!

Hey guys, no need to purchase a soldering iron, just use your glue gun without using a glue stick. This melts a hole perfectly!

Hi Cheryl, I tried that first but the process took much longer... and I had A LOT of cups to do :-) You are right... a glue gun works.. just takes longer. RR

Easy way to get rid of hot glue strings, once project is complete use hair dryer on hot and slowly move over, strings will magically disappear.
Also I highly recommend a Craftsman glue gun from Sears, it is more heavy duty, easily available and uses standard glue sticks.

@Sherry Ginzel, I am so excited to read this. I seriously was going crazy with all the spiderweb type strings from the hot glue! I am going to try your suggestion. EVERYONE, this is a GREAT TIP! :-) RR

Insane project a.k.a. EXCTLY what I like!
This reminded me of me so much. Especially the melting-plastic-cups-inside-the-house-without-a-mask-while-fully-styled part :D
The video not only made me laugh out loud several times, it also happens to provide me with the solution to exactly the question I asked on the last video. So thanks for that!

I started making sparkle balls years ago and was so excited to see someone else was doing it! I had a lady come to my door once and ask where I got them and when I told her I made them she bought them for $60 each! Anyway, love the huge one and I enjoy watching your videos. You see very nice and like you would be very fun person to know! Keep those videos coming!

rebecca I used the tip of the glue gun all the way to make the holes, and the tip also to go across two cups, with the heat of the glue gun they stick no need for hot glue, it takes more time but no smell or anything... I learned it the hard way since i bought the wrong cups (from target) to make the first sparkleball tutorial..

Haha!!!!! Its worth it, its beautiful. I had a thought, it would be cool to glue on little daisy flowers all around it. MrsLoretta Thats a good question. I was concerned about the heat from the larger lights as well. Fortunately, they are low temp low wattage bulbs and so far, no melt downs :-) I've had visions of my chandeliers crashing to the table during our Christmas party ..haha. Hot glue trick to keep the new stick from falling out. Melt the end with the tip of your hot glue gun. Then quickly load it. The new stick will adhere to the old stick.
The other invaluable trick I Iearn with hotglue is...using denatured alcohol will allow the glue to detach and peel away very easily. I put it in a squeeze bottle with a needle applicator. Isopropyl alcohol works too...but not as well. However, it is safer on more surfaces.

This toxic ball was just over the top!! Brilliant!!I love the faceted cups so much!! It just makes it very elegant! I envision a number of them hanging down, at different heights, from a taller ceiling, or entry way. How cool would that be? Like a sparkle call chandelier!! :) ~~ I keep thinking there HAS to be a way to make those holes without using the soldering iron. I know I speak for every one when I say, I don't way you breathing toxic, plastic fumes!! Love you too much!! I wonder if there is some kind of a large hole punch that builders, plumbers, electricians, etc. might use....surely, SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE knows how to do that!! Could you talk to that super nice electric dude that helped at Sharrah's new place?
