- PS4 controller won’t connect? In this video, I will show you how to fix your PS4 when your PS4 controller won’t connect. Knowing how to connect your PS4 controller to your PS4 will enable you to sync/pair new controllers easily.
You can pair your PS4 controller (Dualshock 4) using 2 methods. The first method to connect your controller to your PS4 is by holding down the playstation and share button at the same time for a few seconds. This will cause the light bar to blink blue indicating the bluetooth in your controller is trying to pair with the playstation. The second way to sync your PS4 controller is by connecting it directly to the playstation using the usb to micro ubs cable. After you press the home button, the PS4 controller should pair to the PS4.

it finally worked when doing the Bluetooth sync psbutton+share trick, but I had to be on the connected devices screen for a while before it prompted to connect. Thanks for the advice and try waiting longer if it doesn't work at first

When it just blinking just unplug your whole system then wait for it to turn back on then insert the usb cable before turning it on then once the cord is in the controller turn it on and it should work

if you havent found a solution yet, what i did was i downloaded the ps remote play app on my phone and connected my phone to my ps4 via wifi/network and it connected and i went to the settings using my phone and went to bluetooth settings and tried connecting it through that (if ur controller was connected to ur ps4 before you want to forget the device and reconnect it)

The share and PlayStation button simultaneously worked instantly for me. Showed up in Bluetooth devices right away. Thanks, I was getting frustrated with a brand new controller. You'd think Playstation would have listed this method in the damn directions for installing!

to connect it all you need is the ps remote app so go on it disconnect your controller then hold the share and ps button so it can flash then it should pop up on ps 4 and connect it

You can connect on ur phone using ps4 remote play and delete all the ps4 controllers on bluetooth devices and hold the ps4 button and the share button and wait till it pops up and press connect

I've tried both methods, but it isn't working. I put my ps4 into rest mode so that I could download a game, and when I turn it back on manually, the controllers just won't connect.

@@codymacisco858 if ur still having this problem turn off the ps4 manually(long hold on power button) then try to turn it on with the controller that was previously connected/ur main controller. If that doesn't work try to reset the controller with the PS4 off then use the normal methods of reconnecting. Hope this helps

My controller randomly went red whilst I was playing, it was unresponsive but it was on so I reset it from the back with a pin and it never came back on, now my controller was in perfect condition it’s less than 2 months old and hasn’t been dropped once, if anyone knows anything please let me know

You don’t have to, it didn’t work for me but I tried some other things and it worked. If it doesn’t connect I think the controller is trying to connect to another device so I would try to turn of Bluetooth for the device you recently connected the controller to. Idk if it’ll work but it worked for me but just keep trying random things and it’ll probably work out.

I figured it out. If your controller is not connecting try getting it to blink first without plugging it in, then while its blinking, plug it in and wait for a couple seconds and press the ps button.
To connect it CANNOT be any old Micro USB charging cable. It MUST be a data USB cable (which is thicker)
