NEVER, EVER thought I'd say these words but here goes..........I just fell in love with this machine ! We bought it this am and used it to clean an 8 X 10 rug we just purchased from a yard sale. I was very skeptical but this machine turned me into a believer in Bissell. It brought a used, dirty rug back to as close to new as possible. The colors brightened, the body held it's shape and it looks amazing !
Next was our master bedroom which apparently our vaccum isnt working very well. This cleaner picked up soooo much carpet lint/cat hair that literally could choke the almighty horse. We will be looking for a new Bissell vaccum !
Kudos to Bissell for producing a product that has given me a reason to, for one purchase and for also giving me an incentive to write this review. I never write reviews.

You can help eliminate the fuzz from carpet fibres, you need to vacuum REALLY GOOD before you clean. Also I have the old pro heat 2x premier but after lending it out to people that don’t care for it as much as I do, it seems as though I need a new one... I wanted to see how this one worked because it’s half price at Canadian tire right now! I’m definitely going to get it in a couple hours so thanks for the demo! Just wanted to give you a quick tip to help with your puppy problems lol! I have 3 male puppies here ages 1 and tomorrow the brothers will be 2! They have LITERAL pissing matches in my house -__- .... but I have found the best combo for carpet cleaning solution!
    1. First of all, most solutions say 2oz/gallon or 4 for heavily soiled carpets. Pet urine is a heavy soil. Use 4 oz. (FYI I’m pretty sure you didn’t have even 2oz in your solution...
    2. Bissell makes an enzyme product that is an additive on top of regular (or pet) solution. It is called “Boost” and it is amazing!
Bissell Pet Oxy Boost Carpet Cleaning Formula Enhancer, 1613C www.amazon.ca/dp/B01DVQFCUC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Q2kOCbCKB6JBM
    3. Use a pretreat on the pee and poop spots..... always... I’ve found Resolve to be the best one.
If you use this regiment with your Bissell you’ll be blown away at the results. I know I was! I’ll try to post a before and after I have of my carpet cleaning project last week before my machine started acting up. If I can’t post a pic... just trust me lol!
    Enjoy your adorable puppy!

I got this at Best Buy. First one, didn't suction properly. But returned it. And second one was awesome. I did it for area carpets. It worked best on the synthetics. On wool, the low pile did excellent. On my fancy white wool medium pile rug, the bristles pulled out quite a bit of material. It's an older rug, so I didn't care that much. But I can't imagine using this on a really expensive antique Persian. Overall, I am happy with purchase.

That sounds good but it's not sound. Just use logic and common sense. Shampoo and bodywashes and dish detergents are actually SOFTER than carpet cleaning solutions. Anything that passes allergen tests and is mild enough to use to clean babies is soft enough for a carpet. If it won't damage a little girls hair, how do you imagine it would be harsh enough to damage a carpet or thick rug? That wouldn't make sense. Palmolive actually makes hands soft so I don't know what kinda paper-carpet youre cleaning. If it's soft and mild enough for human skin then it's not gonna hurt a floor meant to withstand a lifetime of daily pounding. Trust me, I ain't cheap. I just found that hair shampoos and bodywashes smell good and make carpet soft. You're wrong bud.

I vacuum and pretreat spots prior to cleaning the carpet, and for a carpet like this one with so many spots, I would mix a strong solution in a spray bottle and use that instead of what's on the cleaner, tbh, I prefer the Hoover Spin scrub, it does a great job and has an upholstery attachment, that can be used in your car too..

Just my opinion...but I have never had any luck with any of the Bissell shampooing , pre-treating, or rinsing products that they have suggested for use in their machines. I have tried their most basic formulas as well as their more advanced formulas, and additives for advanced stain removal and cleanest rinsing (that claim to remove any left over product or residue remaining in the carpet). Everything I have tried leaves the carpet feeling soapy and sticky, eventually attracting high traffic soil to the area and looking like crap. I have also tried using much less of the solution in the cleaning water...but it hasn’t helped. I pretreat and scrub any area I need to clean with a product from a local place that sells and cleans Oriental rugs, and fill my Bissell machines with plain, hot, water for extracting and rinsing the surface area. I have also noticed that my tank for dirty water needs to be emptied less often because the product from the carpet store is very low sudsing. Sudsy solutions will fill the dirty water tank very quickly, requiring you to stop, empty it, and reattach it to the machine every two minutes.

The only true dry vacuum method is when you attach the hose and select dry then empty the tiny attachment often but if you truly want the best of both worlds you need a good vacuum to go with this carpet cleaner no cheap way around that despite what my roommate thinks lol

She goes in the crate by herself now when she wants her alone time or if she is sleepy

I just retired the first gen bissel pro heat whatever it was, and it was set up much more user friendly. The clean shot was a button on the handle that’s was easily accessible without having to change your stance to use a button on the base and there was a dial just in front of the handle grip that allowed you to rotate it from water rinse to light, medium, and heavy clean flow rates. Now I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the tank system, but I like the old better than the new. They dirty water was sucked into a tank around a bladder that the clean water was in. The solution was a small bottle/tank on the back but only needed filled every 5 or 6 water tanks.
After watching this, I should have not thrown it away and fixed the water pump in it. I think I will keep looking for a more user friendly model. So thx for the review and showing it’s features and lack of them so now I know it will be a waste of time buying and trying it!

Hey, I think that little button on the yellow cap is a pressure relief valve in case the cap is a little tight when you try to remove it after use.

Should have bought it at costco. They give way more sample soaps and more accessories that are pretty costly if you have to buy them on your own. Also if you use this at all in your cleaning business the extra tools would be nice

    • @kris0369

You do know you don't have to stick with bissell cleaners solutions thats how they get you, they make you believe other cleaning products other then bissell won't work. Seriously that's how they get their customer to stick with their cleaners almost cleaner solutions made from same chemicals. Think outside the box, we have bissell before and we use other cleaners works great no problem. Really if you use bissell on regular basis your lucky if it last few years. Their made not to last long. That's how companeis make $ off buying same products again. To be honest I rather go back products made when they were made to last. If I could I go back to my old food mixer made in the late 80s if I can find same one again. Back then things were made to last now were lucky if it survives one year without breaking down.

@@kris0369 they didnt say anything at all about only having to use bissill cleaning solution they said that if he had gotten it at costco he would have gotten a bigger bottle of free in box solution plus extra tools. Most people know you don't have to use the name brand solution in any of these machines.

You really need to read the manual. If you did, you'd know that you need a screwdriver to attach the handle and that you should measure the cleaning product into the tank and how to take the roller assembly apart. All that being said, thanks for the test drive and I hope you eventually trained the puppy!

I see several flaws in your methods here. 1. You should have pre vacuumed the carpet. If you that many loose fibers, your vacuum must suck. Second, you dont want to let it sit for 15 min then go over it again with a light clean because the longer the water you put down the first time sits, the deeper is soaks in, which means wet pad. Third, you do not have to reverse the direction of cleaning as you essentially do that when you pull the cleaner backwards.

i have a pet yorkie and got this for my apartment a week ago and finally had time to test it out today and it does not pick up dog hair properly it does okay for deep carpet clean but it well drop random dust bunnies arond the space as your cleaning even if you go over it a few times. So if your looking for a vacuum plus a deep carpet cleaner then this is not it.
