    Full highlights of the Rhythmic Gymnastics All-Around Qualification from Wembley Arena at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
    Since its integration into the Games in 1984 in Los Angeles, rhythmic gymnastics has always been a part of the Olympic programme. In its inaugural year, it was Canada's Lori Fung who won the gold medal.
    Until 1992 in Barcelona, only one individual event was on the programme. A second, team event was added to the programme in 1996 in Atlanta.

    thank you. i do rhythmic gymnastics and my friend does artistic. im in level 7 shes in level 5.when other people are like wow when i say im in level seven my friend just says shes in rhythmic and they lose interest. my other friend said, do you do the dancy ballet type or the more realistic and harder type. I was very mad. rythmic gymnastics is hard in its own way.

    ERMAGERD.... fancy ballet with little extras, a different name and a little more hype...
    Also, since it's name is gymnastics, it is counted as a sport, while ballet, which doesn't have fancy balls or as many cartwheels or round off-back handsprings, is surprisingly not a sport... like cheerleading, which does have championships on ESPN

    2 girls need to hold one like a baseball bat and swing her hit the ball while the "pitcher " runs and catches it while they run around the 5th girl needs to catch the 4 other foul balls with all the pitches coming in succession. On the 5th pitch make it a fair pop fly and an awesome catch at fence after running and other stuff to the ball just before it goes out of the out of bounds line.

  • @tmbunch76
    @tmbunch76 11 років тому

    Im too territorial to do this... i wouldnt want to trade balls...I would be all like "Hey...no...that was my ball....I had it first..." And when i did have to trade... i would feel like i abandoned the ball...yeah...I dont think its the sport for me...
    But its really cool!

  • @gymgirl2
    @gymgirl2 11 років тому

    That's not entirely accurate. Group RG perform 2 sets of routines (1 w/ all the same apparatus & the other w/ a mix of apparatus). Often times Teams will switch 1 of the gymnasts. It's standard procedure for all 6 performing gymnasts to walk-out but the 5 currently performing will salute.

    For some reason the volume of the commentary is much lower than the rest and I can't hear a thing. That's too bad, for once I would have liked to hear commentary to learn more about this sport. The performances are certainly amazing.

  • @Martzius65
    @Martzius65 11 років тому

    It 's very simple: Each team consists of 6 gymnasts but can only enter 5, for two years: 4 gymnasts do both exercises and two alternate with one each (do not listen to those who do not intend of this sport).

  • @gymgirl2
    @gymgirl2 11 років тому

    USA did not qualify for Group Olympics. The quality/quantity of US RG isn't really comparable to that of Eastern Europe and even parts of Asia (though it is getting better). It's an accomplishment/surprise just to even qualify.

  • @Martzius65
    @Martzius65 11 років тому

    The Russian routine, however, is based only on quantity, speed but without the dynamism, without message (or, perhaps, a message of carefree youth? Maybe). Then, the accuracy is just enough to avoid disasters.

    I have great respect for any gymnast, they train hard and train to perfect tricks that could potentially kill them but what I don't like about the sport is that they all look the same in body type...

  • @frugalfruit3792

    Just because artistic is way more popular in the US doesn't mean there are no rhythmic gymnasts. Rhythmic gyms are few and far between, but they are lovely and crowded and are far from clueless.

  • @ilovetraveling7
    @ilovetraveling7 12 років тому
