Newcastle United Football Club is an English professional football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, that plays in the Premier League which is the top-flight of English football. The club was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. The team plays its home matches at St. James' Park. All Premier League clubs have an all-seater stadium, the ground was adjusted in the mid-1990s and currently has a capacity of 52,305.
The club has been a member of the Premier League for all but three years of the competition's history, spending 88 seasons in the top-flight as of July 2020, and have never dropped below English football's second tier since joining the Football League in 1893. Newcastle have won 4 League titles, 6 FA Cups and a Charity Shield, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup, the ninth highest total of trophies won by an English club. The club's most successful period was between 1904 and 1910, when they won an FA Cup and three of their League titles. Newcastle were relegated in 2009, and again in the 2016 season. The club won promotion at the first time of asking each time, returning to the Premier League, as Championship winners, in 2010 and 2017.
As of the 2019-20 season, Newcastle United have spent 88 seasons in the top-flight. They are eighth in the all-time Premier League table and have the ninth-highest total of major honours won by an English club with 11 wins. The club's top goal scorer is Alan Shearer, who scored 206 goals in all competitions between 1996 and 2006. Andy Cole holds the record for the most goals scored in a season: 41 in the 1993-94 season in the Premier League. Shay Given is the most capped international for the club, with 134 appearances for Republic of Ireland. Alan Shearer returned for one more season in the 2005-06 season. This last season saw him break Jackie Milburn's 49-year-old record of 200 goals for Newcastle United when he netted his 201st strike in a home Premier League fixture against Portsmouth on 4 February 2006, becoming the club's highest-ever league and cup competition goal scorer with 201 goals altogether. On 17 April 2006, Shearer suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee after a collision during a 4-1 win at Sunderland in which he scored his 206th and final goal in what was his 395th appearance for the club.
St James' Park is a football stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Premier League club Newcastle United F.C. With a seating capacity of 52,305 seats, it is the eighth largest football stadium in England. St James' Park has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892 and has been used for football since 1880. Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium's asymmetrical stands. Besides club football, St James' Park has also been used for international football, at the 2012 Olympics, for the rugby league Magic Weekend, rugby union World Cup, Premiership and England Test matches, charity football events, rock concerts, and as a set for film and reality television.

Thanks for the shout out Steve, great show as always.Isak did well with Sweden as a 10, be good as a central of 3 behind a reliable No 9,go big on a Wilson replacement, Gordon left and good right side attacking midfield
@@davidcook7743 good seeing you
I wouldn't worry too much, once we start scoring we won't stop!
Good show fellas, can't really disagree with any of the craic on the show, and as Mitch said, the frustrations are still running high, i certainly can't remember being as frustrated watching a toon home game.
We played Wimbledon couldn't break them down, we had tons of possession, same as v Everton and now Brighton, we are literally collapsing in the box, running out of ideas, we really should comfortably be in the top four after wins v Everton and Brighton, but we came away with one point instead of six.
Big questions are starting to be asked, three really tough games coming up and a hell of a lot of pressure mounting up on Eddie, he still has my full support but something has to change ie playing style, and in January a few quality new players in.
Just to add, if young Miley was fit enough for the subs bench he was good for half an hour on the pitch, and he's a player who can play that killer ball, and he doesn't give the ball away cheaply like some of the others, the game was made for him yesterday when we were on the attack most of the time.
Yet Eddie pulled rank with Longstaff and Miggy, poor decision imo.
@@daveyeddie8176 i have to say i agree with you mate. Subs were strange to say least
I think everybody needs to calm down. If Isaak had scored we’d have been having a completely different conversation on how we’d blown away a very competent Brighton side? For those of you questioning Eddie, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Two good signings in January and we’re top 4
@@alancurry4161 and set pieces
Disagree with Mitch, agree with Steve. We created plenty of chances, nowt to do with tactics.need to put the chances away.not Howe’s fault that our finishing was abysmal
@@rory0949 easy work on training ground this week. Shooting practise and set pieces
@@NUFCMattersDefinitely Steve👍
I’m a massiv Eddie Howe fan but his subs this game was way off, he just did it k ow how to change the game and ended up changing it for the worse…… big 2 weeks ahead where the pressure will Mount and he needs to make proper changes
If only the Saudis had bought us 15 years ago before the drawbridge went up
We can end up with no points up to the international break we’re a mid table team unfortunately
@@stevemiddlemiss6545 i still feel our luck will change mate
Why are people saying I don’t think Isak is fit?Of course he’s not (match) fit.I said this before the game that some expect him to come straight back firing on all guns and that just doesn’t happen.I’ll judge him after he’s had a couple of games
We didn't deserve to win the game either Steve
@@terrybutler1096 draw would have been right result
On the subject of a right winger,I thought we tried to sign Olise from palace,in the summer?
@@rory0949 was a lot of rumours about it
I believe that was a statement of intent bud, knowing he was going elsewhere, just my opinion.

Back on guys with catch up
We must ensure we do not fall into denial as Manure are the fact is we are carrying players who should not be in the building
Management require to Manage the club as per Liverpool Villa we are a long way off that desire
Trevor Thailand
Did we not have the same problem last season if we didn't score early then we struggled?
Needs us some goals like the Ladies did a draw but 3-3 a game it was for them grand lasses.
@@senshibat8920 they collapsed today didnt they. Still got a point
We played with 10 men for 60 minutes Isak was poor
@@stevemiddlemiss6545 he should have been subbed
