I’m a Hearts supporter, but was lucky enough to have to take clients to Ibrox for every Rangers game during Gascoigne and Laudrup’s spell. Best players to play in Scotland in their prime. Phenomenal.
@@RR-rf4eo Nowadays, absolutely. The standard is generally pretty poor in Scotland - massive gulf to the EPL. However, that particular Rangers team would have competed at the top-end of the EPL at that time, before the influx of money from TV and mega-rich owners in England. Honest down to earth interview, from a top fella, Gazza, will always be loved by everyone,....as he said along with Ian Durrant, Ally, and the rest of the players at Ibrox Gazza, fitted right in...

He was a absolute sensation for rangers one of the biggest players to ever grace Scottish football total legend and that goal he scored from the halfway line and did that mazey run world class
Great interview and wonderful to see Gazza looking so well. Whether a Rangers fan or not, he was great for Scottish football and one of the best talents the game has ever seen.
Hope you pass these messages on to Gazza bud. He’s looking as well as he has done in years, and it’s amazing to see after all the turmoil he’s been through.
Gazza what a player with rangers scored great goals especially hattrick for 9 n a row and a joker. Could listen his stories for hours. Thanks for memories Gazza
By far the greatest player I've seen from England. The passion he displayed when he was playing was beyond others combined. Should have gone to France 98...Hoddle dropped a clanger!
It must have been pure comedy in Rangers dressing room in the late 1980s and 90s. McCoist, Ferguson, Durrant, Gazza etc. I watched an interview with the late Ray Wilkins who was at Ibrox for a couple of seasons. He loved going to training for the banter alone. Must say also that Gazza was one of the most talented players to play for us. When he was happy he was unplayable, and he loved Glasgow.

How about english speaking people that still have trouble, he talks too fast and mumbles , he doesn't open his mouth so it's very hard to relax and listen
Gazza is one of the very best to pull on a Rangers shirt. I don't give a shit what he's done in his private life. As a footballer, he was truly one of the very best. WATP!
It makes me sad that the modern game lacks characters like gazza. His honesty and sincerity is there for all to see. Gazza is one of us. Yet blessed with a gift from the Gods. His style can never be replicated. But he paid a heavy price for his gift. Gazza forever. One of a kind. The greatest
Am Celtic fan but Gazza was superb striker but I do believe he didn't know the rivalry with Celtic and Rangers till he plaid in 1 and the flute was a joke but could have been more 😮. Great player always respect and legend in football and for England brilliant.
@@JohnMount-gz6dz Class don't follow religion. I feel the same way about Larsson. I'm pretty sure I heard another rangers player told Gazza to do the flute celebration he had no idea of the uproar it would cause. He was getting legit death threats from the IRA at one point i believe. Dynamite lol
I was on the security team at Bradford city & didn't know any of the players being a Newcastle fan. On my first day there I found Stuart Mccall & Steven Hendry inside one of the stands, they insisted they were players & I said likely story. I thought they were fans who had sneaked into the stadium so threw them out of the ground. It was only later pitchside when they ran out onto the pitch I found out who they were. They used to take the piss out of me after that but one day took me into the dressing room & got all the players to sign a program dedicated to me. I still have it. They were a great bunch of lads.
Yeah I'm sure two established first team players let a numpty like you throw/escort them out the stadium lmao..... please enlighten me with more of these wonderful fairytales !!!
3 of us from Newcastle were working at the new Wetherspoon's in Glasgow about 13 year ago, whenever we went out for beers after graft we were bought drinks at every bar if any locals heard us at the bar, all cos of Gazza. Was bizarre haha.
If you dont live the life off the pitch and booze too much you start to decline badly as a player at 27 to 28 years old. Gazza is the perfect example of that. By the time he was at Boro he was unrecognisable from the player that played for Spurs or Lazio.
Booze and lack of sleep definitely increases the risk of injury. Nearly all modern players agree that you can't be reckless off the pitch and play 50+ games a season no matter how young you are. Gazza's 2 major knee injuries finished him as one of the world's best. He was still a player who could pull something special out of the bag (ie the Euro 96 goal) but before that he could power past players with a burst of acceleration. Supposedly he was on the verge of an England recall n 98-99 but then got injured and that was it, his mental health never fully recovered. It seems he had stability at Rangers.
Gazza was loved beyond UK borders.Special talent and great character.Much respect from Red Star Belgrade fan.
