Gotta agree with Lineker. There’s no comparison between Messi and anyone else. Almost less than 200 games than Ronaldo but only 40 less goals. On top of that, the longevity as well, even after the constant rash tackles he faced.
He was right. It’s not necessarily about the big decisions, but definitely in the accumulation of all the smaller decisions. Which fouls are called and which ones aren’t can really impact a game
There's no conspiracy against arsenal, but there's inconsistencies in how the rules are applied. Every team delays and waste time but only some get punished for it. And yes, big teams do get decisions at home. I just don't know why referees mostly come from the north and some of them support premier league teams. Let alone go to abu dubai and get paid by the owners of a premier league club for it. There's just no need for this
What teams do it and don't get punished for it then ? The RULES are inconsistent but acting like the rules favour certain teams is just strange, Every single one of those 11 players are aware of the rules and in control of their own actions. Every single red given to Arsenal this year is 100% validated.
Weird how these inconsistencies never align against Man City though, and how they often aligned against Liverpool when they were City's biggest threat.
Long story short the reason most refs are from the north, particularly the north west because they respect the referee more in the lower leagues. If you played a grass roots game down south you'd see they've got idiots shouting in their face after every decision alongside a gang of lads on the sideline which they're also getting stick from. In the NW grass roots game, you'd see players still contesting the refs decision, but just not right in their face making threats. This is a serious problem down south (particularly london) which is putting off people wanting to be a referee in there. I'm an Arsenal fan, and I admit that I'm biased. However, I think everyone can agree that Rice's second yellow card was too harsh. He barely kicked the ball away, and Pedro did the same thing and kicked it like 30 yards or something. Trossard's second yellow - his reaction time was 0.8 seconds. He is a footballer, not a formula 1 driver - he jumped for the ball like the players around him did. And Saliba - Jarred Gillett is a Liverpool fan. Look it up - he is banned from Liverpool and Everton matches. Our next match is Liverpool ... one of our best defenders sent off - yes, it was a yellow card, but it was not a red. Gillett was the person who said it was a red - coincidence, I think not. Howard Webb was also said to have no communication in the VAR box, but he was texting on his phone. Who texts when watching a football match at the stadium? our argument is that there is inconstancies . Gary O'neil pointed this out in respect to wolves and the same happened to Wolves last year. we want consistency between decisions . Yes , we could have acted better but none of our red cards should have been red cards , saliba was a yellow in my opinion and many officials have said the same . The argument was subjective and officials shouldn't be able to give such serve punishments for a subjective action . To be honest , if this was your club you would have the same reaction as arsenal fans ; everyone would and you can say you wouldn't but be realistic you would . I understand all sides of the argument but as an arsenal fan our main argument is consistency.
The problem is only Arsenal get punished for these things, we see the same things our players are getting sent off for happening in other games. That's the problem.
Ronaldo did not win the Euro's with Portugal he did not score a goal in the knock phase and then got injured 10-15 mins into the final - some guy who I do not know won that game for Portugal. Ronaldo has never scored a knock out goal in his whole career for Portugal which means he has never scored against the best of the best. Its a Myth that people keep perpetuating but is not real, Did Pele win three world cups? No he did not he was in the team yes, but did not play a big part in two of those world cups and got a medal anyway.
Pele scored in two finals, he was injured for most of 62. Also just because ronaldo didn't score in certain games he still contributed to those games. I'm not the worlds biggest ronaldo fan. But you sound like a messi fan boy!
As a Bmth fan, I thought the red was a tad harsh. Saliba may have been the last man, but I would not say it was a denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity. It'd have taken a lot for Evanilson to have scored from there...
They admit there will always be slight outside influence on any human in the high pressure situations they can be in. It’s accurate for ANY person. Referees are not robots.

It was amazing watching the CL game last night and not having to notice the ref. 100% that penalty would NOT have been given by a PL ref to Arsenal. Arsenal just dont get those kind of decisions in the PL.
WOW! seem to remember not too long ago where fans of just about every other team wondered if referees were PRO Arsenal. Teams were wrong offside decisions were made if they scored against Arsenal.
Remember when Arsenal fans used to mock ty from aftv when they were bad and he'd make excuses like "It's been raining?" What happened? They've all turned into Ty.
It's human nature, if someone keeps pushing the boundaries or breaking the rules, then they're gonna get punished more often even when there might be grey areas. Arsenal players keep doing silly things, so everytime they do it they are setting themselves up for 'unfair' treatment. The more you do something, the more opportunities there are for you to be punished for it.
All teams have rivals and if they aren’t a rival it’s because you have an issue with how the fans behave. Unfortunately for Arsenal their fans are absolutely the worst I’ve seen in 40 years. At least Man U fans were winning, Liverpool dominated the 80s, so if we’re honest we were jealous. But I just don’t understand the arrogance of Arsenal fans atm
I think it’s a good goal, but it’s certainly not cut and dry. He clearly influenced the keeper just before the header, and he’s still offside when the ball is headed. Not enough for me to be offside, but it’s clearly not objective.

If you say Messi, fair enough. If you say Ronaldo, okay fine. But I don't agree with Gary cos I know he thinks Messi and Maradona is a closer debate than Messi and CR7. Messi and CR7 are on a different level to any other player. 20 years at the top is surreal. CR7 at 35/36 setting records for Juve is crazy. Aside from Messi, I can't think of anyone doing such things at that age.
There is no conspiracy but also no consistency. The situations were similar in one the player had no control of the ball in the other there were defenders ahead. Been a few times it's red for arsenal then the same thing happens and the pgmol cover the refs backs
In discussing referees decisions, the words you're searching for are "unconscious bias". There are a plethora of studies in business and sports on the subject.
Neither Rice nor Trossard should have been sent off, Saliba on the other hand was definitely a red. I don't believe it's personal, just working out the bugs in the new rules and the application thereof.
I absolutely have an agenda against Arsenal because they are my London rivals, People don't like your club as much as they don't like my club and anyone elses, Deal with it.
No other player than Martinelli has been sent off with two yellows in the same phase of play. No players other than Trossard and Rice have received second yellows for kicking balls away, and the Rice one is particularly suspect given it was belted at him at close range. Conspiracy implies the referees are competent enough to plan this, but they're not. They're hopeless and inconsistent, Arsenal and Wolves just happen to be on the rough end of it for a few seasons now.
That's actually not true. Chris Baird was sent off for Northern Ireland after receiving two yellows in the same phase of play. That was in 2015 in a match against Hungary. It's definitely rare and it was an eyebrow raiser when it happened but that these things do not just happen against Arsenal but at the moment, Arsenal (and Wolves) are suffering from these decisions the most. I agree that I think its poor refereeing rather than any conspiracy.
@@codywatson770 Is that the one where play was stopped, he was given a yellow, continued dissenting and got shown another? The entirely different scenario? Yes good point mate different things are different.

Truth is, they were actually fortunate against City, the Trossard sending off was a clear sending off, and the two goals they scored were fortunate too.
Love the Pod and love you all, Big Meeks is always a joy to watch, but a Team of Shearers wins all day long. Not even close.
I’m so glad Lineker says this about Messi. It’s genuinely not a debate. They wouldn’t be compared if they were in different eras
Mbappe will never ever reach Messi levels and Gary is spot on about Ronaldo
The big teams always get the decisions go their way. If that City winner was a Wolves winner you know for damn sure its disallowed.
How has he never scored a knockout goal?He scored in the semi final vs Wales
Pele scored in two finals, he was injured for most of 62.
Also just because ronaldo didn't score in certain games he still contributed to those games.
I'm not the worlds biggest ronaldo fan. But you sound like a messi fan boy!
The pele remark is completely false
@@emekaoguguo5023all of those false or some of it?
@@NECinho Im not the biggest fans or either, but I certainly remembered people actually said the same thing about Messi back in the day
As a Bmth fan, I thought the red was a tad harsh. Saliba may have been the last man, but I would not say it was a denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity. It'd have taken a lot for Evanilson to have scored from there...
3:10 they admit that refs change their opinion based on outside influence. But it's not the refs fault.
Come on guys.
They admit there will always be slight outside influence on any human in the high pressure situations they can be in. It’s accurate for ANY person. Referees are not robots.
@daviebananas1735 this is where we disagree.
Their job is required, 100%, to NOT be affected by outside influence. I understand most people would be, but I'm not trained to do the job.
I couldn't be police either.
@@TheCurrykiev they’re human. All humans suffer from unconscious bias, it’s not reasonable to expect refs to be superhuman. As long as they try their best to be impartial and make the correct decisions, that’s all they can do.
@@TheCurrykievThe other commenter is correct about bias. You're demanding the impossible here. Also, when you mentioned police, you ironically torpedoed your own point because they've been seen to harbour and act on bias frequently, and in every corner of the world too.
Goat debates are generational. When i started watching football back across the 1970s. Pelé was held as the undoubted greatest. That was the boomer generation. After the 1986 world cup. Generation X held Diego Maradona as the greatest. After Barcelona's 2011 UCL triumph. Gen Z generation held Messi as the greatest. And after Real Madrid 3peat UCL triumph. Cristiano Ronaldo got thrown into the greatest convo by the other half of the Gen Z generation. No doubt future generations will have their greatest.

Remember when Arsenal fans used to mock ty from aftv when they were bad and he'd make excuses like "It's been raining?"
What happened? They've all turned into Ty.
I haven't heard anywhere how the ref bottled giving a straight red... Probably because it was Arsenal

The Messi Glaze podcast
Neither Rice nor Trossard should have been sent off, Saliba on the other hand was definitely a red. I don't believe it's personal, just working out the bugs in the new rules and the application thereof.
There's you go Gary Lineker..its settled
Micah Richards fake laugh and constant 'children's entertainer' screaming is becoming unbearable now.

The Corn Exchange pub in Leicester market.
I absolutely have an agenda against Arsenal because they are my London rivals, People don't like your club as much as they don't like my club and anyone elses, Deal with it.
It's not a conspiracy theory. It's just blatant inconsistency where one rule applies for one club, and another rule applies for other clubs.
Dalot v Liverpool two yellows within 10 seconds of each other.... But yeah everyone is against Arsenal

Lmao calm down. Never been or will ever support arsenal, but that red card was soft. Brushed his arm and he went down like a sack of bricks.
Then why wasnt tosin given a red card for the same thing done even more aggresively. Why do they need top speeds to compare and say the red card was justified. I think you are the deluded hater just cause everybody has to hate arsenal. But you do you cant really imagine having such a sad life

Premier league mount Rushmore having stevy g would be odd, he never won it. Shearer, Keane, Henry and Terry for me I think.. 4 leaders and 4 different clubs
Truth is, they were actually fortunate against City, the Trossard sending off was a clear sending off, and the two goals they scored were fortunate too. Ref calling back Walker, and 3 Arsenal players surrounding Ederson for the goal. I do believe the Declan Rice sending off was quite harsh, but at the end of the day Arsenal fans need to stop complaining and start to score more goals. The football they play this season has been horrible to watch compared to the last couple of seasons.
I thought you was talking about stadiums with Atmosphere? Why you talking about Arsenal then?
G.O.A.T has to be Messi, he has far more natural talent, Ronaldo deserves great respect and is the #2, I feel he has to train harder to be at the same level.
