Met Deeney one night at a hotel in Birmingham when he played at Watford, he didn't want any pictures as the Italian gaffer would have been fuming he was out but got everyone a drink, top lad.
Dunno why the neg comments, thought he was himself and down to earth. "Loves the sound of his own voice" one comment says, it is a podcast where he being asked questions - not sure what you expected when he is the guest being interviewed. Nice one lads, was a quality pod.
Loved that. The most refreshing player interview I've seen by a country mile.. had me properly belly laughing.. He can truly say that “ I did it My Way“. Good on ya Troy Deeney, I wish you well with everything you do fella.
Could be why he’s hated. He’s just too honest and just doesn’t care. Yes, he didn’t have a normal childhood but does any professional athlete? To think of those at 8 going into the academy system and sacrificing their childhood at a chance of making it pro & even then there’s no guarantees you’ll win any trophies
I was behind the goal when he scored at Watford, one of the greatest days in football. Loved him at Watford, after his time in prison he went up and up. When he was on it, my god, he was fantastic.
I like what he said about not respecting anyone he was playing. 'Van Dijk? F*ck it he'll get it just like anyone else will'. I LOVE THAT ATTITUDE IN PLAYERS. I love the players who give that same attitude and effort whether its Barcelona or Bromley. I love the players who aren't in awe and just see 21 other players on the pitch. Those 90 minutes are a battle. Afterwards, do all that photo shit and handshake shit. But on the pitch, treat them like you'd break their leg on a sunday morning on a field. Troy Deeney is a G, and im here for any podcast he goes on!
O No time for Deeney! My niece was a Police officer for West Mids and he gave her loads of grief outside a nightclub in Birmingham ( it’s on UA-cam) he wasn’t so big and cocky when she went for him and he had to write an apologetic letter!!!
Jeezo the guy was dragged up in an environment many would have crumbled and would have never made it as a professional and ended up a waster. Like the guy or not the very fact he’s set himself and his family up in my opinion should be applauded!
Belter episode 👌🏽 And to the people moaning that he's talking about himself to much! Its in the title Troy Deeney episode so be a bit strange if he didn't talk about himself 😂😂
I'm a Blues fan, when he played for us the club was a disaster and it didn't work out for him. But he's lived there dream, he's scored at the blues, and scored a winner against villa. Love the bloke
Mate, I'm a milwall, and I don't know why, but I never liked him but would of loved him to play at wall but after watching 20 mins of this interview, I think his a diamond , like one of your own
As a fellow Birmingham fan I had high hopes for Troy at our club. However he let his ego get in the way regarding Lyle Taylor, and contributed sweet FA overall. Toxic in the dressing room
That goal against Leicester will always be legendary, great player didn't play for my team but whenever I saw him play against us he always gave it his all and was a menace.
I think he is thinking of Federico Macheda when he says Marcello Trotta went to Blues on loan, another Italian striker who never lived up to his potential.
Don’t get the negative comments, he has said himself he is no role model but interesting stories around a lad who came from working class stock and got into trouble, following on from the reputation of his old man and tried to enjoy himself when he started to get life changing money, done well to have such a good career based on his off the field antics
@@paulpell4026 And I cared enough to comment to you about you commenting to him about someone else commenting about a comment someone else that made a comment about the original comment.
Genuinely I’m from Brum where Troy is from and I can say that a lot of the things he say are seemingly true from what I know of other people. He definitely does embellish but we all do and I don’t think he needs the slagging he’s getting in the comments. Nobody is perfect
I think we gave Troy is break at Walsall. I remember his debut away at Plainmoor. Great to see him progress in his career and carve out a fantastic career! Should have had an England cap on merit at one point.
He says he was helping his mum and supporting her? yet he said he was earning 240 a week and only giving her 40 pound of it lol and spending the rest on drink - wtf
haha, they should have a caption at the bottom each time. In this ep, Martin O'Connor is the coach at Walsall. Butts (who they refer to) is Martin Butler, the Walsall striker who kicked off on the pitch in order to leave. Dicko is Carl Dickinson, Watford left back in 2009, Yeates is Mark Yeates, Watford midfielder in the early 2010s. Maps, Adrian Mariappa. Vyds, Matej Vydra.
As a Leicester fan, I absolutely love the Deeney goal as without that, we wouldn't have gone on to win the PL. Deeney got to a Play Off final and lost but we went on to win the PL, QF of the CL, won the FA Cup and won the Charity Shield, all for the first time in our history. Leicester were still the winners that day.
@@MirageMusicUk yep exactly the same Cardiff won the game but lost the PO final and without that, we wouldn't have had our success. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely horrible at the time and the day after that Cardiff match was probably the most hungover I have ever been! Looking back now though, they were important moments that helped build the character of that team that went on to all the success.
I was behind the goal, one of the great days in football. That was one hell of a recovery from Leicester the following season. All of those games were so tight, classic matches. To think Vardy and Kane were on the bench.
I’m torn between 2 opinions… either sports science is a load of shite, or this fella could of been England’s greatest striker if he was professional 😆😆
Troy Deeneys my favourite story teller after Jay Cartwright
Never heard so much shit in my life
I'm no great fan of him but doesn't seem like he's talking cap 🤷♂️
Troy deeney is laughing at you!😊
He's stories aren't even far fetched though 🤔

You get the negative comments now because there are emotionally delicate fans of other teams that he now comments on.

Nobody loves Troy Deeney more than Troy Deeney
This man deserves a Netflix series. Him and his dad. Not a docuseries but like proper stuff man
Really enjoyed this one, good life story, made something out of himself! Fair play to him.
For me he comes across decent whenever I've heard him on pods. Just doesn't seem to care what people think and I'm here for it

I went into this with an opinion on Troy deeney. I’ve come away with exactly the same opinion.
The fake story about doing 250k in vegas and meeting a dozen victoria secret model didn't do it for you? "Safe to say I had the last laugh"
Cracking episode. Blokes in boots might sound fanciful to us guys in our leafy suburbs but that’s the world he was in
Nah it's just nonsense
We're not all in leafy suburbs it sounds pretty believable to me

Divides opinion (clearly in comments) but he’s a character and what’s missing from modern football. Best of this season up to press. Roll on p2
Agree 👍 modern players are pathetic robots, similar to the common new generation of people.
1000%. Loads of jealousy.
Comes across as a top man
'and what’s missing from modern football' Just how much CRACK is required to make this kind of comment?
As a fellow Birmingham fan I had high hopes for Troy at our club. However he let his ego get in the way regarding Lyle Taylor, and contributed sweet FA overall.

He was toxic everywhere.

'iv always been self aware '-😂😂

When’s part two out?
Now
Troy’s brilliant and honest I feel
"I've always been really self-aware" hahahahahaha
Great stories, excited for part 2!
Funnily enough, I only know Warrington because it was the IKEA we went to as kids

Harry Kane was scoring that pen 💯
It was a super important one that involved pressure, so doubtful he’d have scored it!
