This guy is a legend AND he's cool af
Totally.
Facts!!!
If the only thing in his bag was that Rowland S Howard and Nikki Sudden record, this would still be one of the best episodes of WIMB!
Kid Congo gots great taste 😎👍
Considering he played guitar on that track, he'd better!
What an amazing pedigree this gentleman has, Cramps, Gun Club, Nick Cave and many more.
What are we going to do when guys like this aren’t around anymore? Such an original.
We'll still have Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Drake /s
@@foljs5858 And EMINEM!! #TRUEandREAL
Never new Kid Congo was so excellently camp. What a fuckin man
Kid Congo inspired many Mexicans in my neighborhood to play guitar. The guys from Voodoo Glow Skulls will tell you about how Kid Congo changed their lives.
Brian is an old, old friend from LA punk, I'm so glad to see him on Amoeba.
Got to be the best episode of what’s in my bag, Ever.
I love you Kid. Don't ever leave us!! Thanks for the JLP tip on the Sudden release
Outstanding!! Now that was incredibly refreshing and highly enjoyable, definitely one of my favorite W.I.M.B. episodes. Brian is a true music lover, incredibly knowledgeable, NOT pretentious, has exceptionally great and varied taste and most importantly, just good people... I just love his passion! And clearly it was a really good day for digging, a lot of gems in that "bag".. many of my faves and some things I still have yet to add to my collection.
This is perhaps the best episode of "What's in my bag" ever
True alternative rock legend!!.
This was a good episode
Like Jello Biafra, I could listen to this guy talk all day. Great finds King Congo!
Yep i seen that video too. Anyone talking about music with such emotion is something treasured. Surround yourself with people like this.
Kid Congo is such a legend !!!!! Imagine playing in the bad seeds and the gun club !!!! What an absolute dude . I’d love to go see him DJ . He’s tastes are so eclectic !!!
Great edition of What's In My Bag! I had the privilege of seeing Kid back in the day during his second tour of duty with The Gun Club, and also with the Pink Monkey Birds in September 2014--both fine shows. It doesn't surprise me that he has good musical taste as well.
The Kid did not disappoint! I'm going to check some of the stuff that I'm not familiar with right away!
What a total sluice box of great sounds to comb and sift many faceted gems from!
Such a wealth of info and influence Kid has blessed us all with today, or what ever lucky day it is you see this.
Kid's music got better over the years. Amazing. And he's a loveable GOD
The great Kid Congo Powers loving the great John Cale. Now I love KCP even more so!

Dear Kid Congo Powers, we all fucking love you :D ohh and don't be jealous, Amoeba ! haha we love you too :D thanks for keeping it underground with bands that deserve the recognition, fuck what's in Adele's bag !
Thanks for the love and thanks for watching. We'll keep it up!
I met Kid at a tiny music festival and even got the chance to talk to him for a few minutes. And, man, he's the nicest guy in the world and a true gentleman. While I was completely starstruck, trying to express to him how much I admired him and how much his music meant to me, he just standed there, patient as a monk and cool af, with a genuine smile across his face, holding and shaking my hands, giving all his attention to me and thanking me while I vented all my gibberish. God bless him. He really couldn't be sweeter nor more distinguished. I just wish I said something smarter 😂
..Brian seems like a happy go lucky kinda dude, who knows his music quite well, the stuff he listens to is very eclectic..I think he's a romantic..I'm just now getting into the back story of him, and his other bands that he's played with..I knew he played with the Cramps, after Brian Gregory left..
never lets you down, glad to see the Rsh and Nikki Sudden record get a rerelease
Kid Congo is such a great influence on me. He roolz and so do all of his pix
Absolute G. Great picks and great commentary.
This was great!!!
Such a nice guy and super cool selection
the Best picks yet
This is definitely one of my favorites! I have the Record Store Day 7" of Goblin's Suspiria, but am jealous of the Deep Red(Profondo Rosso) copy he got (even though I have the Waxworks soundtrack). He grabbed a ton of cool stuff and showed me 2 new bands I really dig! More people like this guy!
Kid Kongo! Man i wanted to like this before i even watched it but sure enough his picks were as on point as i expected. Great episode Amoeba!
holy cow each one of these is a banger
He is also currently in the WOLFMANHATTAN PROJECT with Bob Bert and Mick Collins.

I love this Swans album! So underrated ... one of the best bands ever! The last incarnation is one of the greatest things in the history of modern music!
Great bloke - and a genuinely informative episode of WIMB. I learned from this.
i would love to hear a set from Kid Congo Powers!
Fantastic choices!
I love the fact that he used to be in a band with Nick Cave. It's like the set-up for a sitcom.
Great episode - he's a lovely chap, Kid

I just found this Kid Congo youtube thang..kewl!!!
My friend has a lot of LP's of Nikki Sudden + the green one with Rowland S. Howard. That's how I got to know Howard a bit more and checked out the Birthday Party (with Nick Cave.) Great band!
I'm fascinated by other people's taste in music...I don't like most of their picks, but still fascinated. respect for the Billy Childish - Buff Medways single.
