That kind of information would have been great to have. Unfortunately it was not available in any of the studies that were available for review. And, as you probably know, this is an understudied to area. On the other hand, the recent study involving a large number of medical marijuana users who logged their symptoms with the Strainprint app suggests that worsening depression over time is the most likely outcome for a medical use consumer. (Granted, within ‘medical use’ is a great number of possibilities. But such use is generally thought of as less seeking of intoxication)

Its something that has plagued me my whole life and it is completely suppressed when I have thc in my system. I'm generally unhappy with myself and cannabis helps me accept my own shortcomings and I'm able to view myself from an outside view. This allows me to stop and think about what I'm saying and how it will effect the people around me. The best part is that I dont have to actively medicate to feel the positive effects because it metabolizes so slowly. That is my experience and I do believe cannabis can be abused and it can make people lazy and useless if used improperly

Most of the cases studied are marijuana with a high THC concentration and low CBD concentration, and also consumed in quite large amounts. Cbd i think is ok but it's effects is short term and not medically proven to help long term remission from dep/anxiety THC is psychoactive and mood plays a big role. If you're not even clinically depressed and tried it while your mood is off, it's effect will backfire.
A lot of the studies he's referring to are too old to be accurate. A 2020 study published in The Journal of Biology and Medicine found that about 95% of people said marijuana gave them rapid short-term relief from depression symptoms. A study published in 2018 in the Journal of Affective Disorders reported similar fast-acting benefits. And there is a plethora of anecdotal evidence that supports that cannabis can be good for treating depression.
Your comment just proved this video correct. It give short term relief but thats it. And also he mentioned studies that were done fairly recent and they do not suggest it can be good for treating depression and in fact can cause it!
@@lifewithlouie6272Short term relief can be the difference between someone taking their life or not. I'm intrestead to know how the newer studies your referring to were done. If you experience "short term relief" and it is taken away, someone could easily report the symptoms as more severe. I'd also like to know how the control group was set up. If you can tell me what studies you're referring to that would be great. Acetaminophen provides short term relief. That doesn't mean it doesn't have a medical use.
Excellent video, thank you so much for the information, I use marihuana to cope with the symptoms and help me sleep, but I'll definitely give cannabis a break if it helps in long term recovery.
i am on Lexapro, Gabapinton, lorazapam, Concerta, wilbutrin and seroquil for TRD depression and Anhedonia.... what happens if i injest CBD ? generally, medical comunity says it will injure me?
All this talks about is using cannabis as a depression cure (which I agree, its not, but its not meant to be). Current medications don't cure depression either. And current medicines aren't a one size fits all. This video suggests that people with depression should only use cannabis. It doesn't go into using talk therapy or other holistic methods in conjunction with medication (like grounding techniques). Furthermore, it also doesn't compare cannabis with existing medications to treat depression. Kinda sucks that propaganda like this is still being said even though no one who uses cannabis to treat pain says that its a miracle drug
Because prohibition is a failed policy, both for alcohol and marijuana. People are going to jail for one and not for the other, but arguably, alcohol abuse is much worse than marijuana abuse.
I been smoking since 8th grade and it’s not helping at all. I might feel better for a hour or so until my high is gone. I don’t think that’s healthy so I might stop smoking weed but that’s easier to say than actually doing it lol 😂😂😂 I spent about $500-$600 on weed a month
I would suggest try looking for a Psychodynamic Psychiatrist. Ask specifically for a Psych who is psychodynamic, those kinds look at the whole person and not just the brain chemicals or the symptoms...they agree that therapy AND medicine will help, not just medicine alone.
Depression, anxiety and crippling life (almost) ending addiction. Treatment only worked short term but the only thing that keep me clean for a long period is marijuana. @@diorsavage7811 it’s turned into my lifeline especially at night when most of my depression/suicidal ideation episodes happen. Unfortunately my dad doesn’t know because he doesn’t support the use in any form.
@@diorsavage7811 do you think it could cure depression completely?
Does 1 stick is enough?
@@mk11fan87 no you shouldn’t think of it as a cure but more like a pain reliever for the moment
WTF
cannabis exacerbates depression on long run and destroy the nervous system or to put it rightly it irritate it cause paranoia or at least irritability and sometimes cavin in.
Gad sufferers tend to lean toward the irritable side due to their problem.
Depressed one can ruminate.
Bpd/ schizo/ bipolar and otherPD's develop psychosis. My friend's brother committed suicide when he got back on weed.
Cbd i think is ok but it's effects is short term and not medically proven to help long term remission from dep/anxiety
THC is psychoactive and mood plays a big role. If you're not even clinically depressed and tried it while your mood is off, it's effect will backfire.

Thank you. I will consider the data. Very informative and by no means intrusive. Very helpful
I really needed evidenced based information. Thank you for posting!
Play at 2x speed🤙🏼
You said it. Fast acting, short term.
Enjoy cannabis if you can, but for anxiety and depression it only, unfortunately, gives short term relief.
Rapid and short term. Look what you wrote. They are saying that as long as they were high they had relief from the symptoms of depression.
Correlation or causation
Excellent video, thank you so much for the information, I use marihuana to cope with the symptoms and help me sleep, but I'll definitely give cannabis a break if it helps in long term recovery.
Excellent video; many thanks for the information. We should utilize marijuana to treat various illnesses' symptoms.
Everybody's body chem is diffrent if I didn take low dose cannibis. I wouldent be here now and that's a fact
Most of these studies are worthless because they don't indicate how much THC vs CBD is consumed or which strains. No mention of microdosing either.
i am on Lexapro, Gabapinton, lorazapam, Concerta, wilbutrin and seroquil for TRD depression and Anhedonia.... what happens if i injest CBD ? generally, medical comunity says it will injure me?
Injure you? Wtf? Lol it helps with anxiety give it a shot (just cbd not weed)
Kinda sucks that propaganda like this is still being said even though no one who uses cannabis to treat pain says that its a miracle drug
this sign won’t stop me because i can’t read!
Sometimes weed helps but not all the time it could depend on the strain last time I smoked blue dream and I felt relaxed it helped with anxiety
How long did that last?
So why is it becoming legal?
money
Cause yo addict 🤣
Wtf 500-600 monthly? That's obnoxious. I thought I was fucking up by spending 200 a month
18:41 how much you get for thiese lies
Depression, anxiety and crippling life (almost) ending addiction.
Treatment only worked short term but the only thing that keep me clean for a long period is marijuana.
It not that i dont get depressed but its now longer day ending. I can handle it with thc.
It not for everyone but is a miracle for others. Like me. 😊
@austinbruce8945 no thx

Its normal to feel depresed if you are controlled by a plant.
How pathetic must ones life be to get to that point?
Jesus you just must not have experienced extreme traumas that make people go that route. Easy for you to judge without having any empathy for what others go through. Id rather be around a recovered addict than someone with an attitude like yours
@@liamseekins9488 I've experience more than my share of extreme trauma everyone does. Its not what happens to us that shapes our life but how we choose to react to it. Covering it up just guarantees it festers and reliving a lifetime of trauma, every day, forever.
