I dislike how effective and reliant I am on a pharmaceutical like Adderall. My ability to calm down and focus(severe ADHD and ASD) is an undeniable improvement on quality of life.
Ask A Psychiatrist...I would love if you uploaded a lecture on the pathology of ADHD and how d-amphetamine functions for those afflicted. Please!
Very interesting thank you sir 😸 in my country Japan we have two words for psychosis, 精神病 is amphetamine psychosis and 総合失調病 is no drug psychosis but both only give dopamine suppression drug for treatment. Tokyo University
Wow I’ve recently been experiencing psychotic/psychosis like symptoms when taking my prescribed aderall but I found it interesting when you brought up the study in Japan about the possibility of it being a “different” type of psychosis for lack of a better word cause my symptoms always happen like after 4-5 hours I take 30 mg XR so I’m guessing around when it’s peaking and I start thinking the worst about everything I start over thinking and thinking everyone is out to get me or is trying to hurt me and I work in a very social work environment and it sometimes ,not always but sometimes effects me to the point where I can’t even function properly and luckily I’m also prescribed alprazolam er 2 mg and whenever I get in that manic state I take a quarter to a half depending . But then the symptoms subside and I feel fine again it’s weird I mean obviously I don’t mix the two at the same time I wait until i take it but that’s crazy to me cause for the longest time I wasn’t sure if I was going crazy or losing my mind . And granted I’m a recovering addict from heroin,meth,analog benzos etc pcp you name it I’ve done it but idk I’m not educated enough to really understand it all but I did manage to understand most of it due to my dads old biochemistry books he’d let me read but wow very informative I’m definitely going to approach my consumption of amphetamine very differently.
Slow down. Any dose will exacerbate once psychosis is achieved. Month absence and you might be okay. Feel better. I find benzos add to problem. Feel better.v

Yeah, out of all the different drugs I've tried during my lifetime, recreational & prescribed, any substance that binds to the same receptors as stimulants or benzos is really, really bad! I learned the hard way to stay away from those.
I take 7 mgs, 2days on, 2days off, 1 day on 1 day off, two days...etc. start an 8 winter month cycle at 5 mgs, and end the cycle with 5 mgs., to prevent down-regulation. I use triacetyl uridine
(nootropics online sources ) to repair the DNA.
B vits. ( Methlyl- types if available.)
Choline food sources.
Magnesium threonate. Further repair. Ph stable at 7.25 @the 2nd urination of a.m.
Since 2017, 24 yrs. clean and sober. I would be You tubing like crazy. "Leo and Adderall" . . .eye opener. Don't loose hope, keep looking.
Oh, and N-acetyl cystine to prevent oxidation cascades, which, by the sounds of it, You could be having. ; )

I just experienced this with my daughter’s boyfriend. He was outside my door babbling, laughing, crying, and waving his hands. I didn’t know whether to call the police or an ambulance. He finally left. This psychosis is no joke.

I have two family members who experience this. To me it seems to be the lack of sleep caused by amphetamines that causesthe psychosis. As a teen I was on Duramine for a year or two. Could not sleep and felt horrible because of the lack of sleep and subsequent neuroticism, over active mind etc. thank you for your talk, very informative

I did speed my computers got hacked into ( this is pretty common I found with meth users into a 5 or 10 year addiction ) my network etc get s destroyed
its was like nothing I ever seen in any hacking or pentest community, The psychiatrist was telling me its in my head like jerkoff, Sure enough Im home
sober and all 3 laptops can't boot as the OS was damaged badly. I had to fix some other devices and its impossible to break the security I had with

screenshots are there and that would mean in still tripping but my family friends now saw it. I did it 2 more times weeks later and the same most stupid
hallucination goes down, Use logic and you would s see this is a real thing. I did not see a shadow person but saw weird shadow shapes and patterns
on the wall. I promise you and i got some screens along with several family members who saw the screens and i gave then copies just in case, I also on that night had some items moved with no one home. My tablet is always in my room and thats it, its gone and I checked everywhere but when I went to the kitchen
it was found upside down in a sink. Do you think this was real or fake ? I have backup proof to show some things. But that scared the hell out of me with. If you think its fake or psychosis when I didn't smoke but took the pills about 5 days a week after 6 months I was done with it.

I did speed which is meth in pill form for a short 6 month not every day but it was addiction which I kicked fast. All I saw
was trails. Then 1 day the most stupid hallucination ( it was real not psychosis or hallucination like these jagoff doctors put in my head )
but my computers were getting hacked left and right with impossible things going on, they crashed, phone died and other electronics did
weird stuff. Also I screenshotted the hacking. So they tell me it was all made up from being high. Coming back home sober my 3
laptops need a fresh install of Linux ( gee 3 broken laptops, if it was hallucinated it should work ) also memory stick of 100 screens
I took so am I still hallucinating screenshots. It happened 2 more times when I took speed and that was it. All the sudden I watch

Can L tyrosine also contribute psychosis? I believe L tyrosine increase dopamine like L Dopa. Would love to know more from you Dr.
Tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine. (And dopamine is the precursor to norepinephrine). Some people who have previously experienced psychosis have said that they re-experience psychosis when they take tyrosine supplements. However, I'm not aware of any reports of tyrosine causing psychosis in people who have not previously experienced psychosis.
From my personal experience, Cannabis can intensify psychosis if there is already an issue with dilusional disorders/psychosis..
When coming off adderall XR I experienced hearing voices that were not there I do suffer from depression and an anxiety disorder but nothing else that I’m aware of and I would get brain zaps when trying to fall asleep followed by intense chimming right after in my ears

Would an individual suffering from this appear to be obviously unwell or could they pass as "normal". I have an acquaintance who firmly believes that I snuck into their house and rewired it completely, to enable me to hack their phones, tablet, laptop, and bizarrely their fridge, the heating, and even their car. They appear quite normal apart from this delusion, which first appeared in 2020. They used amphetamines 24/7, over the course of several years, and this is the only thing I've come across that seems to explain it

I had a experience on one of the drugs, I was up for about 14 days I thought I seen and heard things that were not there.Well I still believe it was real. Can hallucinations and voices mix with reality. I thought I seen things on my phone and then they were gone. But I was aware of everything around me and was seeing normal life with what seemed to be things that didn't exist at the same time.Ot was so real I still have a hard time trying to sort this out. Please help. How can that be.

Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.

I’m gonna have to disagree. Cannabis can be used to calm someone down because they simply feel relaxed on it. I myself and a few others do not experience a feeling of relaxation. This also depends on the amount, but it increases anxiety or take someone who never worries and cause them to worry about things they would otherwise not worry about. Paranoia, has taken me on cannabis more than a few times. Just talking to a stranger will freak me out and will begin the feel threatened and make judgement that the man in front of me will kill me if I do not get away from them. Cannabis can cause serious psychological issues.
Weed effects people differently. Some people go into psychosis because of the stress that the paranoia from weed causes
I would make a hell of a case study for the drug (or anything else) that is possibly curving amphetamine induced psychosis if somewhere would take me on. I am bipolar and have also been abusing methamphetamine for close to a year. Here is the plot twist. Gangstalking. After becoming a targeted individual, I now live with what I believe or fear will be a lifelong state of psychosis. And I will go to my grave believing it's mostly been induced by the Gangstalking. I do believe the meth very likely contributed to it as well based on what I see about meth induced psychosis. But I feel 100% confident the Gangstalking is where the problem becomes chronic for me.
You may think I am crazy but I am serious about the being a test dummy for psychosis outside of antipsychotics. Any advice on how to enroll for such studies? The biggest problem I would probably be into is that they would have to acknowledge the Gangstalking with me to some extent. Although specifics being discussed aren't important to me, that would be my only stipulations.

Hi there! I'm borderline and I abused benzos and sibutramine (amph derivate) for weight loss at the same time and ended up with really bad pshychotic experiences (auditory hallucinations, ben paranoid and dellusional). Once I figured out and cut off the weight loss pills as well, I researched a lot about psychosis outside any substance abuse - as I have severe trauma caused by what I experienced - and it turns out all this abuse can produce a chemical imbalance in our brains which makes us more prone to develop schizophrenia. Based on my experience so far and what I saw in myself, hallucinations, dellusions, paranoia can still be triggered if you're exposed to stress or lack of sleep. Unfortunately, experiencing psychosis outside substance use really is a thing... and it freaks me out. No existing antipsychotic can guarantee it will take hallucinations away.. I'd give anything to have a med to make all this stop. Any stress breaks my brain completely now.
I'm convinced Gangstalking can cause you so much stress - and that can trigger pshychosis.
