What I always find that works best for the edges is to prime them first then sand them Down because when I have sanded first then primed the edge is still rough, priming first kind of clogs the pours to sand smooth !
Hi Justin, great video. Found it at the right time as I'm about to paint MDF shelfs. What's the process if your were to add a colour? I'm looking at using the pick your colour wood vaspar paint from B&Q so the shelfs and walls match. Would you follow the steps in your video first before adding the colour (5 coats - 1 prime, 2 white top, 2 colour) ? Or would I use colour paint for the two top coats (1 prime, 2 colour top coats) ? Cheers

Great video Justin.. thanks for all the info and tips 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for this video. Very helpful for me as I’ve got to paint a couple of loft hatches made from MDF.
That screw block idea is a good one.
My problem is that I often get runs or blobs on the edges.
Good job Justin 👍🏻👍🏻
Good job mate nice finish
How would you paint laminated mdf?

Man, it does look like it will protect it from moisture. Will it ?

Hey! 1 primer and 2 colour should do it
Thanks mate! 👍🏼
Surprised they didn’t just get at IKEA. If I were hiring a carpenter I would want it made from wood.
