  • This video is intended to show you my full process when selling a car. I Drove down near Concord NH to buy this minty 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab 4x4 listed for $4000. I negotiated down to $3750 and drove it home. Then I take it to the warehouse, do a little bodywork, and sell it at the end of this video.

    You really need to start using fiberglass bonds for your first coat. It’s waterproof. That bonds is going to get moisture and flake off in a month. Get short strand filler and use it for first coat. On all these projects. Nice find .....

    just a tip for doing ghetto rust repair use fiberglass stranded filler like bondoglass or kitty hair its waterproof and will last alot longer. With Work like this regular bondo is meant to be fully encapsulated with metal on the back and paint on the front. fiberglass filler can go through the back side and get wet and no fail as quickly. Something I have learned when working with metal...make a paper template before and then trace it to the new piece...save yourself time and body filler.

    • @jamespn
      @jamespn 3 роки тому +2

      That’s a great tip maybe even some light weight poster board. I’ve seen welders do welds spaced out allowing for time for the metal to cool and not warp, go back and tack the rest of the panel.

    • @ChosenBC
      @ChosenBC 3 роки тому +2

      Also, Usually cut smaller if you are not using a paper template, your can always cut more, but you can't technically uncut... You should use filler tape behind the big gaps as well so the Bondo has more to help it stay in place and fall in or out after a bit of driving.
