Looks great, even with the flaws. And at least the faded door is on the passenger side. So you won't have to see it every time you drive! How is the gas mileage? Fixing your AC was a lot easier than mine! Seven years ago, I picked up a '96 Tacoma from this guy I knew for awhile. He had it 12 years, but was retired and didn't drive very much or in snow. Solid frame and a straight rust-free standard-cab, with the 4-cylinder, 5-speed, power-steering, and bed-liner. The best - only 73K miles. The bad - fading clear-coat on roof & hood. The worst - wouldn't go in first or third gear, and never had AC! So I gambled, paid his $400 asking price and got lucky. Fixed it myself with a $30 shifter socket kit from Toyota. Since then, I've made some upgrades - a $300 ARE fiberglass cap off craigslist, a flea-market $50 Sony CD-radio & speakers, and the best part - thanks to salvage-yards and RockAuto - I installed 'factory AC' for $500! I have other vehicles. So today, the Tacoma still only has about 84K. It may outlast me! 🙂
It is crazy what east coast car prices, and criminal states allowed dump salt and corrosive de-icer roads. So glad I live in Colorado where car prices are cheap, and DOT only uses sand and non corrosive de-icer.
I would search marketplace for any other set of wheels, the rusty steelies make it look like a beat work truck. Maybe even swap headlights with better used oem or after market. Two years ago I paid 25 for my 2015 with 90k, Tacoma’s are good trucks. That being said take advantage of the Tacoma tax, clean it up and sell it.

Made me think back of my friends buying their first house. Had 3 sold out from under them even with the deposit down on them.
if you have any weird vibration or steering issues check out the steel wheels first. I bought mine and it had THREE out of four slightly bent steelies. western NY roads are fucking horrid
I usually turn around when people play that game. If a person does that to me, it says alot about their character. The vehicles could be not worth my time, like the seller. Great truck and nice find! Glad you didn't turn around like I would have, for doing that type of price changing.

What a good deal. If you use a heat gun on the stickers that will help peel them off the stickers, or tape part of a black trash bag to the sticker and let the sun soften it.
when I first got my drivers permit me and my dad were looking for a truck for me and we found a 2005 Toyota Tacoma four-cylinder single cab for only 1200 bucks with low miles 80,000

Hey bud- hot glue on the handle of a hammer works great to pull those dents then use a hair dryer and a little alcohol to get residue off. 802!
I got the most mint 97 blazer you could own
I just bought an 07 with 86k original miles 4.0 V6 for 12k out of New Hampshire. Truck literally like brand new I love it so far
Please keep it and make it a budget off-roader. There’s no way you will get another deal like that. I miss my second gen. Amazing truck. Just fluid film the the frame
Great video! I always enjoy your content
What a score! Here in SD CA that's like a 15k truck as is.
Best gen. Best motor ever produced by Toyota... Great find
Those are great trucks, but I got an 02 Chevy s10 v6 vortex, and I’m not disappointed
that truck is even the EXACT same color as mine!
Auto salesman: It has 325k miles, blown head gasket, missing 3rd gear, cracked rear diff & 75% frame rust.
Me: Nah!
Salesman: It's a Toyota.
Me: You s0mb¡tch! I'm in!
I’ve been waiting for this one
Those are 7,000$ and up here easy these days but they use to be half that untill Coivd prices 😒 I drove 6hrs in 2019 to buy a truck I get 10 minutes from the guys house he calls says he sold the truck and gave me my deposit back! Not a fun day
I know you’re not a Toyota guy so you won’t keep this thing, but pls get as many videos out of it as you can.
I’m really looking forward to more.
Looks like a great deal even with the price bump. You might get lucky with the radio could be an aftermarket was in there and the original one wasn't plugged back in entirely. Made me think back of my friends buying their first house. Had 3 sold out from under them even with the deposit down on them.
if you have any weird vibration or steering issues check out the steel wheels first. I bought mine and it had THREE out of four slightly bent steelies. western NY roads are fucking horrid
Yes, the rural Vermonter is back!
I want to see you preparing the Tacoma!!
Nice score. I use Goo Gone or 3M adhesive remover to get residue off.
When he said it runs like a dream, I was like it runs like a wet dream.
LOL I’m in Maine and was just in Craig’s looking for a Tacoma… Hope it’s a good one and if you find any more let me know. Haha
ChrisFix has a pretty good video on painting wheels, oughta check it out, would make it look a hell of a lot better
I usually turn around when people play that game. If a person does that to me, it says alot about their character. The vehicles could be not worth my time, like the seller.
Great truck and nice find!
Glad you didn't turn around like I would have, for doing that type of price changing.
They make rubber eraser wheels that work fantastic for decal removal and they take the glue too. Pretty cheap also
I have a 2005 regular cab 4-cylinder that was once a work truck, had the shit kicked out of it for the first 15 years- I’ve had it 2 years now (since 283,000 miles) & still going at 317,000 miles- can’t break these things lol
We need an update on the Tacoma
It’s crazy how much you travel between states. I could drive 7 hours and still be in Oklahoma
This guy is not honerable, if you sell a truck for a certain price, you should stick with your deal.
2 words for you to safely load and unload your trailer-parking break. if you put on your parking break your truck won't move so much, the trailer won't move so much, and you won't put unnecessary stress on you transmission.
What a good deal. If you use a heat gun on the stickers that will help peel them off the stickers, or tape part of a black trash bag to the sticker and let the sun soften it.
Great videos. Wear your seatbelt so we can see more.... (I think that was the flashing light on the dash).
RV, looks like a pretty solid truck. A little clean up should do the trick. Should be a money maker!
when I first got my drivers permit me and my dad were looking for a truck for me and we found a 2005 Toyota Tacoma four-cylinder single cab for only 1200 bucks with low miles 80,000
Use googone worked great when I had to remove police sticker glue form a retired police car didn’t hurt the paint at all and smells like oranges
You got a sweet deal young man 👍.. that's probably a 4.0 V6 bullet proof like the one on the 4runner...
I re-charged my AC twice (two years in a row) in my 2005 Taco with the autoparts stuff. Has been fine for a few years now, I may have had a small leak I guess.
I'd keep that and convert it into an overland vehicle. Polish up those headlights with some chrome cleaner.
Just FYI- you’re ripping along at 80 to pick up that truck with a box of cash in the front seat. Under Civil Asset Forfeiture, cops can seize your cash for no reason, claiming “suspicious activity”. It will take moths or years to get it back. I’d at least stash the cash.
Sweet buy, btw 👍
I live in maine this is awesome I always go up to Burlington Vermont (I think I’m spelling that right) but I go up to visit my family because they live up there. It’s a really beautiful place
Great deal
I don't know if you know about that attachment you get for your drill and it's for removing stickers and stuff like that and it's like a it spins but it's made with like a rubber material but anyways they sell them and it you won't have mirrors hard time scraping the old stickers off with that it really works good it doesn't harm the paint looks like you were putting some scratches in there with the razor blade you should invest with one of those?
What are the odds?!?! The Tacoma has the exact same tire brand that my moms car has LOL! Anyways insane truck and vid! Amazing
Do more videos on Tacoma.
cant wait for the comparison!
Use lacquer thinner on the logos.
