    Ever wake up with a stiff neck? Ice and rest until you can gently reintroduce movement, then try a bit of myofascial release. Let me know if this works for you (or if it doesn't)!

    Hi, thanks for the question! While I'm vastly underqualified to answer, that won't stop me: Your resistance training regimen matters less than your form. Both neck and TMJ pain can be exacerbated by poor posture and tight front neck muscles. Done properly, squats, bench presses, rows, etc will fight poor posture, and won't cause neck strain. That said, most "core" stuff (crunches, sit-ups, etc) will put strain on the very neck muscles that you'd like to calm down. Consider reducing these.

    Thank you for this! I've had an excruciating, nauseating pain in my neck for 4 days, this is the only thing that has relieved it even slightly. I was trying not to do anything to aggravate the crick, but even not doing anything was painful! Thanks again.

    You are *amazing*. This and your TMJ and wrist videos have been extremely helpful! (I'm a musician, and both of those things are constant thorns in my side, especially after a really long day of practicing or rehearsals). Also, you're ridiculously amazingly beautiful. (always a perk!) :) )

    Thank you so much it's only taken two days of doing this massage movement but my neck has improved so much I can rotate it right round and it was painful for over a month. What a relief I can recommend you to everyone. The other channel went right into stretching the neck to the side which really made it worse so I was skeptical when I saw this one but I also tried your one for rotator cuff I'm sold now and only taking your advice because it works:-)

    I get awful neck cramps! They'll last a week, and I cant move it in any direction! I have tmjd, so it makes it worse :(... I'll try out this self massage next time. Also pleease could you answer my question?! Is it normal for the back of your neck to click from time to time? Like when you're walking, or when you stretch? etc. It's hard to describe! But i swear it clicks!! My ENT consultant was not helpful when i asked him :(

      +Minecraft GirlGamer/Nicole Yep, you can keep doing this for future episodes, and you may ever consider doing it occasionally while your neck is feeling well, just to maintain your range of motion and keep tension low. Glad you found it useful!

    Hey mate,thanks for this.I think this maybe the cause of my issues , symptoms are - hearing a gristly crunching noise when moving head from side to side.
    Also i find that if i turn my head to the right it gives a sensation similar to an electric shock.At worst it sets all nerves on edge and gives me a sensation of being extremely cold...weird.

    • @Bodymindconspiracyblog
      @Bodymindconspiracyblog  9 років тому

      Carabear04 Right on! Heat can be okay, but (as you realized) it's best not to overdo it. A good strategy is to alternate heat and ice ("contrast therapy": heating pad for 10 minutes, ice pack for 10, repeat as desired), which is something I wish I had mentioned in the video. Thanks for commenting!

    I couldn't find that muscle where the pain is coming from after trying this about 10 times. What am I doing wrong?

    • @Bodymindconspiracyblog
      @Bodymindconspiracyblog  9 років тому

      There's no need to find the muscle (it's actually really hard to feel), just apply pressure in the general region. If this isn't working, try letting your palm come a little further up onto your neck. Be gentle, and don't wrench your neck; think moving skin.
      If this isn't doing the trick, discontinue after a few more tries and see a qualified professional who can evaluate you in person. Good luck!
