A WOMAN declared morbidly obese has lost 250lbs and had 10lbs of excess skin removed. Corey Hyland says she can only ever remember being overweight. By the time she was a teenager Corey had been declared morbidly obese by doctors and she stopped looking at the weighing scales. As a result, Corey doesn’t know her heaviest weight, other than it was in the 400lb range. A decade ago, without ever imagining she would be able to transform her body, Corey decided to make changes to her diet to try and lose some weight. Despite dropping some pounds, Corey had setbacks along the way and says the big change only happened a few years ago when she started working out with a personal trainer. And in the last year, she lost the biggest amount of weight: an incredible 100lbs. But with that dramatic weight loss came a large amount of excess skin that left Corey feeling underwhelmed with what her body now looked like. Having excess skin removal surgery was the final reward.

My started weight was 240 and now I’m at 134. I’ve lost 106 in 9 months and now I’m feeling so much better and healthier. All I did was stop eating fast food and chips and I drink a ton of water and exercise. Now I’m maintaining my weight by eating only one big meal a day and at night I’m eating really lite like fruit.

A change of a diet is a diet. Diets are designed to achieve different goals depending on your fat and muscle percentage. So if you want to be healthy you have to add a diet that fits your body and your goal. Is not a temporary thing you have to keep eating differently for the rest of your life. Is not like "ok so I will diet for a while, lose the weight and go back to eat the way I was eating before" it doesn't work that way. You have to change your life style to maintain a healthy weight. Our body is a machine and it requires attention and care.

The first time I lost weight, I lost about 60lb and when I realized I had loose skin (even though it wasn't much) and a lot of stretch marks, I became so depressed and beaten up that I let my self go again and gained it all back. You should be proud of yourself for not letting your loose skin get in the way of your goals.

Many ladies always ask, "how can I know that a guy loves me?" Many ladies have lost good guys because they cannot identify good guys. Although guys can pretend, but you can identify a fake guy and you can know whether a guy loves you or not in the following ways: 1. A fake guy will demand for sex. A real guy will also demand for sex. But a fake guy will quit the relationship if you refuse to have sex with him, while a real guy will not quit even if you don't give him sex. 2. A fake guy shows love and care. A real guy also shows love and care. But watch out! A fake guy will stop to be caring if you commit any offence, but a real guy never stops being caring no matter your offence. 3. A real guy will not like to leave you no matter the situation. 4. A real guy that truly loves you will always apologise even if it is not his fault. 5. Fake guys pamper ladies. Real guys also pamper ladies too. But if a guy pampers you to the extreme, hmm don't trust him. In most cases, fake guys pampers ladies more than the real guys. 6. When a guy uses too many sweet words all the time, be careful. He may be fake. Real guys that truly love u will use few sweet words. 7. A real guy that truly loves you will be very concerned about your problems. He will always show much concern about the causes and solutions to your problems. But a fake guy only shows more concern about his own problems. 8. A real guy will spend money on you. Fake guy will also spend money on you. But a fake guy will not give you much money unless you have sex with him. No sex, no money. Fake love. 9. A fake guy will promise to marry you. A real guy will also promise to marry you. But a real guy will always discuss with you about how to build a successful marriage. 10. A real guy can kneel down and even shed tears to beg you never to lose him. A fake guy who does not love you will not do that. Think Twice!!!.....

But see this is what’s wrong with America’s sizing right now. I’m just shy of 5’7” and currently fluctuating between 114-118 and I’m swimming in an extra small now at 32 but my clothes from ten years ago are a size small and fit wayyy tighter than extra smalls fit me now. She shouldn’t be the smallest size offered. Clothes are huge on me now from almost everywhere except like zara. It’s ridiculous. She looks great but she shouldn’t be fitting a size extra small.

There’s such a lack of understanding the deep connection regarding obesity and mental health even within the healthcare. In society and healthcare staff view it as a food issue, when the thing that got the person that size is sue to mental health issues. Just like some in high school will drink until they pass out or are always the one up for a ”party” when it’s just an escapism due to severe mental health issues too. All the stigma and predjudice about who and why someone is acting outside of the norm must be looked into so people can get help earlier on. Because no addiction be it substances, gambling, food etc will never go away because a person without mental health issues will mock them, scare them or exclude them etc. Just like they probably wouldn’t tell a suicidal person to ”get over it” or ”you’re just lazy and don’t want to be happy”. Empathy has to be exdended to more than just a few mental health issues and not just the nes people are willing to sort of try to understand. Sit down with any overweight/obese person and you’ll probably hear them share more than one trauma if they will trust you to respect them (some will have an inhealthy weight due to a physical reason, but that is a small percentage and majority of the cases will be tied to mental health).
