Not at all jealous of Ray’s new home… swim, bike, run outdoors practically just about every day, sounds awful. Who am I kidding? Insanely jealous, congrats Ray 😊
So true about the ecosystem.. I just switched from GoPro to DJI.. love the switch. For me the workflow is so much faster.. and as much as I have loved GoPro for years, I use the action camera everyday.. and the reality is that 6months of the year I am usually plogging in the dark.
At this point, I don't trust most UA-cam reviews, except from a select few from established reviewers I have been watching for years. Most of them are paid, or at very least, just a quick glimpse of some hot new product they are hoping to cash in on.
greate viedo ~~Please give some advise on choose pace pro , race s or m3 for running and whole day wearing . I have own vertix 2 ,but i think it is too heavy for running . i want o buy one onwatch on runnng . When i hiking using vertix 2 THX ~
Thanks to both of you. Always very informative. I just purchased an 'Enduro 3' to replace my battery ‘draining’ Fenix 6. Would you be willing and in a postion to assist? My ‘Enduro 3’ does not easily sync via my Wi-Fi connection. Several tries are required and once it does, I receive the message ‘Transfer Complete, 12 Files Failed’. This is in stark contrast to my ‘Fenix 6’ which synced whilst I was still approaching my apartment way down in the stairwell. Also, I would like to disable ‘Sleep Mode’ completely, rather than having to push a button combination to do so. The watch is a bit of a disappointment in these regards and I am contemplating my options, including returning to a 'Fenix 6’. Thanking you in advance.
Regarding the Marq with no new ecg, heart rate sensor, etc. even if you have money to burn most that have money save their money and for a watch that is 3000 that will make it maybe three years would be $1,000 per year to own. That’s a waste of money when you have lower priced Garmins that have better and more features.
Hey, I Got the Marq gen 2 athlete a few weeks ago as a gift. And based on what I see I would swap it right away for the Coros Pace Pro without a blink of an eye. I really don't get the fuss about the garmin epix gen 2 interface where this is actually a variant on. Ok yes the screen is nice I give them that. BUT! the heartrate is not any better then my vertix 2 watch which was very clear on a lactate measurement. The screen is smaller so not really handy when you are on a trail and have to look for small side trails on the go. And then I don't get what Garmin does wrong with the Wifi and bluetooth but forget about the frequency on heartrate measurement during the day which should gain a lot of battery life on Coros as you claim. Don't turn of your wifi and or bluethooth and the battery is death in a few days. Why is that and more impotantly why is it not the case on a Coros? Not saying that the coros is better overall because that would not be true but it's the same function here why does it drain the battery so much on a Garmin? One more frustration is the terrible menu sections on Garmin these days, wanted to change the data during an activity and it's rather facinating how good you can hide a simple function like that. Same for Spotify, yes you can install it but it just doesn't work at all so you might aswell just keep your phone with you so you can at least still take a picture on the go.
The Fenix E getting the new UI and likely new features in the future but not the Epix or the Epix Pro, which is more capable than the E, is going to get a lot of loyal customers mad. I get why they do it but it feels like a money grab. Usually Garmin offers more than just a repackaged new release. Anyway, always fun to listen to you guys!
Also, releasing a $3000+ watch without the latest hardware and features seems cheap and a rip-off. Some people are willing to pay a lot for a beautiful watch but it usually comes with the best features.
Not yet, I need to get my act together and start doing a bunch of proper dives. Which mostly starts by me finding a group of nearby folks here to dive with. (-Ray)
People buy cars for way more that are basically expensive trash after a couple 100k miles. Of course I currently wouldn't spend more than maybe 250 for a sports watch which gets you a Huawei GT5. Or a Garmin Instinct 2X (on sale). More than enough functions than anyone ever needs. And they do last a while. All my older Garmins, including the Fénix 1 would still work. Unfortunately the Fénix 1 is no longer supported by the app. But my old Forerunner 25 and Vivoactive still can connect to the app.
Let's see... I can have either a $3000 Garmin that does no more than a $150 preowned Garmin, OR a preowned Omega Seamaster that will likely STILL be worth $3000 long after the ridiculous Garmin has been forgotten. No brainer for me.
😂 Yeah, maybe - not very likely though that you're not losing money with an Omega. Also - if one day the Swatch Group decides to no longer store spare parts, the Seamaster will be an expensive paper weight. Besides, this video is about sports watches. Didn't know that the Seamaster has GPS 😂.
@@MrSeedi76 Apples to oranges, true, but dollar to dollar I would NEVER consider paying these prices for a Garmin - no matter the features or capabilities, even if I had 10X that just hanging out in my back wallet.
As always, the September/October timeframe is crazy busy for watches, and both of us only have so much space/time on our wrists. For example, the Garmin Fenix E hasn't been reviewed. In my case, the T-Rex got stuck in customs for weeks, and then I re-purhcased it a few weeks ago. As noted in the video, both of us are working on it, and more importantly, both of us actually test the crap out of watches, versus just doing a single workout and calling it done. Your choice. (-Ray).
Great show…..Always fun to listen to you guys.
Thanks!!!

Living in Mallorca. Wow. 👏
Thanks for the podcast. Did I miss where you both gave your take on the amazfit t rex 3?
I’m currently testing it (there’s actually some of the data in some of my recent videos). On the home stretch! (Des)
...and I'm slightly behind Des on this one, but also mid-testing as well. (-Ray)

AirPods Pro 2 for audio? Sounds great.
I enjoy these podcasts
Epix gen 2 seems to always be on sale, they must have made loads of them. Also my first smart watch of any kind.
Ray - any update on the Wahoo KICKR RUN treadmill full review?
I don’t have one at this point yet. Wahoo says they’re working on the logistics of it. (-Ray)
Amazfit t-rex 3 ftw!
Do you think the Edge 1050 will have Black Friday sales?
I would not expect that. I'd expect various continued Edge 1040 sales. (-Ray)
@thefitfile 😭 I've just sold my 1040
What are your go-to watches (rings/whoop strap) that you personally use when not testing other watches and why?

Did the Jetblack Victory make this video?
Nah, we talked about it this past summer when it first came out. I suspect we’ll cover it again soon when we finish our reviews (-Ray)
You have to make a review of Huawei GT5. I think it's a very solid watch.
Any Suunto Ocean news?
Not yet, I need to get my act together and start doing a bunch of proper dives. Which mostly starts by me finding a group of nearby folks here to dive with. (-Ray)
Pace Pro is faster than the Dura... lol 🧐
Hang on.. we have wind here in the Netherlands?!!
Just a gentle breeze…
@thefitfile true.. just to help the hair look energized.. omg.. it actually blew all mine off!!!!
With Insta360 also based in China, why would they not be subject to similar product bans as DJI?
It’s not about being based in China. According to the US Government, the ban is related to DJI’s closeness to the Chinese government. (-Ray)
$3k for a Smart watch with no potential long term value as an investment. Insane.

3000$ for an old heart rate sensor and old technic

This is the corniest thumbnail I've seen in a while.
Just wait…we’re not even close to peak-corn potential 😉
Just saying… TRex3 dropped ages ago. Sus.
